Today, I went to my standing monthly appointment with Hope Acuna LE. I tried facial cupping for the first time and was not disappointed. She first cleansed and moisturized my face thoroughly. She then used these finger-sized beaker with rubber suction bulbs which easily glided over my forehead, cheeks, nose and jawline. The process was gentle and comforting. It was like a facial massage. Decided to finally buy a groupon for my first facial ever!! With how much I love massages and all other things spa it's amazing that I haven't had one before, but the word "extractions" just kinda freaks me out. However, it is fall in Cali and although it is still 80 degrees every day the words "pumpkin peel facial" just reeled me right on in. So today I drive down to El Cajon from Del Mar to get my face all pumpkin-ified. Jessica (the esthetician who got the lucky job of guiding me through my first facial) came right out to say hello, I filled out a little survey, and we were off. For all you normal ppl who have already had facials, I won't get into all the details, but there was some cleansing, some steaming, warm towels, the extractions (surprisingly not terrible), a shoulder, arm, and hand massage and then the pumpkin peel followed by some moisturizer. It was AWESOME. The pumpkin peel smelled good enough to eat, and I was just sad I couldn't take some home with me! Jessica was great about explaining everything that was going to happen, so I didn't feel nervous at all. The massage portion was great and very relaxing. I bought a deal through... I think it was Living Social some time last year to try out Hope's facials. Unfortunately, she was in the middle of moving her business at this time. While her place is not close to me at all, I have come to love my facials and am willing to drive all the way out to El Cajon because I enjoy her fantastic service and care. It is easy to feel comfortable and at ease with Hope. An appointment with her is like visiting an old friend and she will customize your facial in any way you want. Also, her lash extensions are EXTREMELY affordable. Ask her about them. Make sure you're on her mailing list. She e-mails out some very good deals. They make it worth the drive out as well. My favorite part about Love your Skin is that Hope genuinely loves what she does. She spends a lot of what should be free-time working on clients because she enjoys it and that shows when you are with her. I will say that one time she accidentally double-booked so I showed up and was not able to have my facial. However, after scheduling me a new session, she also gave me an extra session for free. I came in for a micro needling treatment last week and now my skin is glowing and continuing to purge all kinds of gross goodness If you haven't heard of micro needling, I recommend you read about all the benefits of collagen induction therapy. This treatment surpasses any age defying magical serum advertised on tv or at department stores. This is your skin reproducing your own damn collagen repetitively. I firmly believe this treatment is the foundation of youth if you start now. I don't care how old you are, you will see benefits. Please keep in mind of the following: You must be patient. Results are not as instantaneous as juvederm or Botox and will take at least 6 weeks to see improvement from your first treatment. It takes 6 weeks for your collagen to rebuild after your skin gets stabbed lol jk but for real This treatment isn't relaxing as a facial or massage but somewhat intense. Unless you have a high pain tolerance, I recommend you bring topical numbing cream with you. I'm going to be honest and say you will feel uncomfortable. This is not a facial, it is a treatment consisting of several small needles stabbing your skin simultaneously. It isn't any more painful than laser hair removal. Hope has done such an amazing job on my face. I have loved the way my skin looks. But when I took my 16 year old daughter there,who was having severe acne issues, Hope, let herknow that she could help correct the problem and get her skin looking great before school started again.
