I came here on a Saturday afternoon to try and get squeezed in as a walk in but had no luck so I asked if I could make an appointment for Sunday and did; the woman that I spoke with made me pinky swear that I'd show up (I didn't need to do this because I really needed this appointment) but I did. When I arrived for my appointment on Sunday I was late, by 14 mins but I was serviced. I picked my color and sat in the massage chair for my pedicure. Amazing experience!! I have visited many salons but from beginning to end it was a great experience. I arrived and was a little confused about location. One of the ladies came outside and looked for me. Then I went into the salon and did not have to wait for service. My technician took excellent care of me. One of the best pedicures I've ever had, and I've had many! I came here in a fluster late one night after getting my brows done nearby to see if they could fit me in before closing and they happily took me. They didn't rush through any part of the service at all, it was thorough, meticulous and very relaxing. The back massage while my nails dried was such a nice and unexpected touch at the end (I figured that would only come with a deluxe package!). Most importantly, my pedicure lasted for literally 2 months I don't think I've ever experienced that! I'm a mom of 2 littles too so I'm not easy on my nails. I visited this nail salon twice. I should have never returned following my first experience. For my first visit, I had an appointment with Stacy. Immediately after she ran the water to start my pedicure in walks a white lady saying she wanted her nails done and asked if someone could do them now. Instead of Stacy telling the lady that no nail techs were available at the moment and that the first nail tech available would service her, Stacy instead tells me that she's going to service the white lady and will have Natalie service me. Needless to say, I was not happy given I actually had an appointment and was already in the chair. Adding insult to injury, after Natalie finished my pedicure and manicure, Stacy tells me that she's charging me an extra fee for my pedicure service. I felt this was unprofessional of her given she had only told me the pricing for the service I requested and I felt if at any point she felt the need to charge ME something different outside of the price that is actually posted on their price board inside the nail salon, she should had discussed that with me so I could had decided if that service was something I wanted to more forward with. Also adding to the insult, Stacy loudly announced that I was leaving a $5 tip for the nail tech as if something was wrong with that. Second visit! Sunday, December 1st! I had an appointment with Natalie. I thought scheduling with Natalie would eliminate me from being inconvenienced if Stacy decided to be discriminatory again. I arrived at the time of my appointment to find Natalie doing a pedicure for someone. I told Stacy that I had an appointment. Stacy told me that Natalie would service me after she was done with the customer (another white lady). It was 30 minutes before Natalie got to me. After Natalie had finished my pedicure and manicure, Stacy was ready to collect payment. My service charge was $65. I told Stacy to charge my credit card $70 dollars instead to cover the $5 tip I planned to leave Natalie. After Stacy charged my credit card she took $15 dollars out of her cash register and stared at me. I asked her if something was wrong and she replied saying that my $5 tip was not enough and that she now needed to make up the difference because in her opinion, I should have been tipping at 20% minimum. I was floored!! I felt her comment was inappropriate and I explained to her that my responsibility as a customer is to pay for the service rendered. If I decide to leave a tip, the tip is an expression of my appreciation for how I feel that service was that I received. Never should Stacy tell me how much I should tip or asked me if I'm leaving a tip. It's inappropriate! Needless to say, I will not be revisiting. read more

My friend introduced me to this small nail spot in Ardmore. She described it as her favorite nail place because they have such incredible attention to detail and they are all so respectful and wonderful to hang out with while you are getting spa treatment!! I thought it would be just about as good as any other nail place but Daisy nails is far and above the best place you can go for a Mani or pedi or waxing or whatever. Stacy really takes her time and does an amazing job and is very detail oriented. I came in with acrylic nails which she tried to break off with pliers. It hurt and damaged my nails. I lost more than half of my length due to this. She also kept giving my nails this disapproving look because of the acrylic. Afterwards she told me that my nails were very damaged and that's why they need to be short. My nails have never been damaged and I've been getting my nails done regularly for the past 2 years. If she filed the acrylic off like they should it probably wouldn't have damaged my nails at all. Otherwise the end result of my nails don't look bad. The color is good. The only thing that bothers me is that it is this short, when I'm used to having longer nails. This was my worst nail experience ever. I've had my nails done thousands of times. This woman burned my fingers with some strong chemical glue that still hurts now that I left. She gave me cocky looks the entire time I was in there. I asked for a simple stripe nail design and she acted as if it was impossible. We did not get to that. She told me that maybe if I don't trust her I should leave. When I said it was burning me because it hurt so much tears were in my eyes. Check the photo for what she left me with. First, she didn't use nails, a cheap piece of bendable clear plastic. She didn't even get my polish off from last time and it was black and she rubbed it into my cuticles. My roommate and I pretty much swear by this place. We only come here if we can help it. Major downside is that it is a small spot and usually involves a wait, but you really cannot beat the quality of their service. This is the only nail salon where my manicure lasts a full week before it starts to chip. The owner is the sweetest lady, and the hot stone massage you get during every pedicure is heavenly. It is hard to find a decent priced nail salon in the area. $30 gets you a maincure/pedicure, which is the best price we have been able to find without sacrificing quality of service. Since moving to Philly I went cold turkey on my monthly nail salon visits. It was out of pure necessity since I was spoiled on NYC's ubiquitous $20 mani/pedi and could no way maintain such a frivolous habit at Philly's $35 going-rate just for a pedicure. But having a fancy wedding to go to this past weekend, I knew I needed to suck it up and make my hands and feet look presentable, so I went in search of a good, reasonably priced mani/pedi. There are a bunch of places near my office in Center City but I happened to be around Ardmore one day and walked by Daisy Nails. It caught my eye because they had a sign for a $30 mani/pedi. The place was clean, had lots of Essie and OPI colors, could take me right away and when I saw one good review on Yelp, I figured it was worth a chance. I am so glad I happened upon Daisy Nails because it was seriously excellent. The pedicure was fantastic. In addition to the basic good job of cleaning and scrubbing the feet and not being overly aggressive with cuticle cutting, it included a foot massage. Not just your run-of-the-mill pedicure "massage" that is no more than a glorified lotion rubbing, but easily 5-10 min of massaging the calves and feet including a massage with hot stones. The pedicure alone was worth it. I actually don't really care for manicures because they never last more than a couple days before chipping, so I can't say as much about that. This one seemed as good as any I've had. I asked her not to cut the cuticles, only push them back, which she did but then also just cleaned up some hangnails, which is a nice touch. She also cut and shaped my nails well (short, square with rounded sides); sometimes the person is in a rush and they pinch your skin with the nail clippers or the nails come out uneven. Another nice touch was that, since they weren't busy one girl started on my nails while I was still having my pedicure, so that saved some time. I went to Daisy Nails because of all the good reviews here on Yelp, and I was not disappointed. There were two women working, and while I did wait 20 minutes for my pedicure, it was worth it. Plus I was just soaking my feet in a massage chair, so there are worse places to wait! The pedicure was long and very nice. Hot stones, hot towel, long leg massage, and careful attention to my toes. I also got a gel manicure, and it's beautiful. During my manicure I was treated to a shoulder rub. Mmm!! Overall my experience was wonderful, and I will return. However, it is not a express nail salon...I was there for probably an hour and a half. I only minded today because I had someplace to be at a certain time, but I didn't tell them that because I assumed I would be in and out. I wasn't late, and everything worked out. The room itself isn't fancy or posh, but it's comfortable, and the massage chairs look pretty new. Nice natural light. One thing I loved is that the TV was muted, and a classical radio station was playing. It was relaxing. Long story short: it took awhile, but the service and quality is worth it. Good value, too! When I get inside I'm asked "how can I help you?" I respond by telling her the services that I need (gel manicure) only for her to respond and say "no, we're full". I just moved to the area from NJ and needed a pedicure. I found this gem by googling places for pedicure and boy am I glad I went. The people there were extremely accommodating and friendly, the place was peaceful, no phones ringing, people talking on phones and no loud music, a very relaxing place. Also the staff were not talking to each other in another language that I didn't know which made it even more comfortable. The massage chair was great, one of the best I've used. My pedicure was awesome, the attention to detail was over the top, she got all the dead, dry skin off my heels and the massage was long. That's why I really get a pedicure is for the leg and foot massage. I have already booked my next appointment which is something I never do, not even for a hair appointment. I've tried to come here twice and was turned away both times for a simple mani + pedi. the first time I was shooed away because they were "closing soon" even though it was 3pm and the hours were til 5pm. I felt a little strange with the way I was treated but gave the benefit of the doubt. I went to to get a simple refill on my acrylics. I should have left the second she clipped my nails with nail clippers, rather than trimming them down with the device every other nail tech has used on me. She cut them way too short because of this, they were also jagged. She spent probably a half hour filing and refiling them as well as applying the nail bond but then filing it off (?). It hurt alot and she kept telling me its not a big deal. Finally it was almost time for them to be painted and she had someone else do my right hand as she was still filing my left hand (for NO reason they were as good as it was gonna get at that point). Overall, the nails were 35 dollars when I was told 20 over the phone. I wish I would have stood up for myself multiple times however I just know I will never be returning and neither should you.
