I don't leave reviews often, but this experience left a really bad taste in my mouth. I have been coming to this restaurant since they opened their original location. I order at least twice a month. I even bought a hat! I rave about this place to others. With that being said, I am beyond disappointed in how the owner handled their employees mistake on my order. I ordered directly from their website for delivery. I am at a doctor's office within a couple miles and haven't eaten in a while and won't be able to eat for a while and am unable to leave. I ordered a bowl and it was delivered without utensils. I call and ask if they usually put utensils in the delivery orders because I don't recall seeing an option on their site to have or not have utensils. The woman told me they put utensils automatically in the delivery. I informed her of the mistake and she said sorry and appeared to laugh. I asked if they could bring utensils or offer a refund since my only option to eat this is with my hands. She said they can't do that but can offer me a $10 gift certificate next time I come by. I explained my situation and how I won't be able to eat or refrigerate the meal and she laughed again and said sorry. It was a very bizarre response. This was the manager on the phone saying the owner told her she won't offer the refund. I asked to speak with the owner and she refused me. Essentially, they expect me to pay for their mistake. I feel so gross after this interaction. I will not be coming back here and will be sure to stop speaking so highly of this place. I hope you understand the consequences of credit card chargebacks. It would have taken you five minutes to do the right thing and complete the order that I paid over $20 for. Hope you enjoy the tip(s). read more

The name could not be more appropriate. Exactly how I would describe their food and location. If I could eat here every day I would be the happiest and healthiest person alive. My friend and I split two items; the kale & quinoa salad and the tuna salad sandwich. Both were just amazing. Their house made pickles are the key to it all. Like many others have said: it's a lovely place! I came in on a Sunday for a late lunch after a walk on the EWEB path, and before browsing shops downtown. I got the Toast Malone, which is a slice of avocado toast topped with smoked salmon, a poached egg, and pickled red onion. Yum! The toppings were generous, and the bread was a good consistency: strong enough to hold up to the avocado but fluffy enough that it was easy to eat. I enjoyed the side of pickled veggies, too. They had some wonderful-looking hot beverages but I went with a grapefruit soda from the case. The place is both hip and cozy, and the staff is friendly. They also sell jars of house-made juice, and other local things like honey and soaps. Cute! It was a rare warm March day so I ate outside, they have a decent amount of indoor and outdoor seating. I have a rule that I don't like to pay an exorbitant price for food I can make at home (and make even better in this case). Food is fairly plain sandwiches, salads and bowls all around $16. I found the portions small and the food under-seasoned and lacking in creativity. Also the staff seemed a bit confused about their own menu and what they had. I've been two days in a row--the first time just for drip coffee which was very good, but this morning I got the avocado toast. I added bacon and a beet pickled egg. I think it was probably one of the best avocado toasts I've ever had, no joke. Topped with some lightly dressed greens and a little side of pickled radishes. It was a little pricey ($19 with the add ons) but they didn't skimp on the bacon and honestly after I took a bite, I didn't care at all about the price. I might get it again tomorrow. LOVE Lovely! Worth a trip from elsewhere, Lovely is one of the best things about Springfield. The food, the service, the mellow vibe. Yes, I said it - Mellow Vibes. The staff is so accommodating & great smiles. I mused aloud my sadness that their Rose Pistachio Latte couldn't be done as a tea as it was too late in the day for me for coffee-level caffeine, so they made one for me with matcha and a smile. The design is super cute! I love the little section of outside seating available and the corner location is just all around lovely! The food and drinks were tasty-- I'd recommend the pickles above all else. I could see how people who aren't into raw or wellness foods might be deterred, especially with the small menu. But, I really enjoyed my time and my sandwich! The folks at the desk are super sweet, very friendly, and they gave my best friend a complementary wellness shot for her birthday. LOVELY - Avocado and Greens Sandwich, Chia with Berries Bowl and Kiddo's Oat Bowl - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Springfield, Oregon

I came here on a cloudy day looking for some brunch. I ordered the Avocado and Greens Sandwich and the Warm Oats both to-go as well as an immunity shot. Avocado and Greens Sandwich: 4.75/5, this was delicious! The bread was toasted perfectly and every bite (especially the crust) was crunchy and a little smoky. The vegan mayo tasted just like regular mayo and it was spread evenly throughout the inside of the sandwich for a consistent taste. Throughout the mashed avocados (which were super creamy and fresh) were pickled vegetables (onions, pickles) and I normally don't like pickles but these blended in seamlessly with the sandwich. They added a nice crunch, a sour but sweetness, and the microgreens gave it more texture (than just a mash of avocados). Would definitely recommend this sandwich. -.25 because the sandwich was cold and I think it could be 5/5 if it was slightly warm, but given all the cold ingredients and I got it to-go this didn't affect how tasty the sandwich actually is, just a personal preference. Warm Oats: 4/5, this was pretty tasty! They didn't skimp out on the blueberries which gave a sweet but also sour tang in every spoonful of oats. I liked how the oat milk soaked the oats so it didn't taste dry or like a chore to be eating the oats (towards the bottom it got less watery as the oats sucked up all the moisture, started getting dry). Cranberries, pumpkin seeds, chia, etc. were all nice touches. Given how most of the ingredients lack flavor complexity except blueberries and cranberries, the oatmeal tasted a little bland so I'd recommend asking if they have any add-ins i.e. honey, cinnamon, etc. Immunity Shot: 5/5, most immunity shots I try are either painful to drink or unpleasant and I drink them mostly for the health benefits. Lovely's is great because it was sweet (initial taste), the portion is large (for an immunity "shot") and comes in a cute, small jar. There's a slight burn/kick after from the ginger/turmeric. The shop interior and exterior is cute, it's quaint and really gives off a small, old town diner vibe. There's picnic tables outside to eat on and they sell merchandise (shirts, stickers, soaps) in store. Staff were friendly and down to earth as well. read more

I am so happy I was able to stop by this place today! I enjoyed their selection of coffees & teas. I had a matcha tea sweetened with honey. It was exactly what I needed after my yoga class. This place is exactly it's name sake, Lovely. The interior is lovely. The staff is lovely. The coffee is lovely. The food is not only lovely but freaking delicious! My favorite? Those little purple beet pickled eggs. Before you start judging, just try them. If you are a fan of eggs, pickles, or pickled eggs, you will die for their eggs. Just a light tang to their perfectly cooked creamy texture. I also ordered their smoked salmon toast and it was so worth my little break from vegetarianism. I only eat smoked salmon maybe four times a year and I won't be mad if my 2020 salmon quota is met at Lovely. They are a brand new spot on Main Street in Springfield and they are still working out the kinks of their menu, but I think they are off to a really good spot. I believe the bread is from hideaway bakery so you know it'll be good on that alone. The eggs used were pickled in beets and turmeric.
