Great way to start the day. Later I have two other meetings here. Meetings work well here.

After months of outdoor dining I took a step inside today to visit my favorite Downtown Eugene breakfast place. I am happy to report this very spacious Eugene landmark is thriving and still offering the best and healthiest breakfasts in town. The oatmeal is the tastiest I've ever had. The bagels and breakfast specials are super. And the coffee is remarkable. Shared with Whirled Pies the very large space offers plenty of healthy room between tables. A great cool or rainy day getaway. And they are super friendly and welcoming. I love Theo's.

Hitting the road early and looking for a bite and a pint, of coffee of course. This shop has such a cool atmosphere inside. Well spread out with fun jazz in the background and awesome decor from murals on the wall to neat lights hanging from the ceiling. Decided to go with the classic breakfast sandwich which features ham, egg, cheese, and pesto on a croissant. The croissant was perfect; buttery and flakey. The pesto was a delightful addition that I wouldn't normally pair with my breakfast fare. Cold brew coffee was good. I've had better, but I chalk that up to the selection of roast. It is brewed fresh there which you don't always get. The spicy chai was very solid. Had a good amount of spice to it but was not overbearing. Definitely would come back and recommend to anyone.

If you can overlook the$1.20/hr street parking and the edgy vibe in this neighborhood, I had the best bkfast sandwich here. Ham,egg, cheese, pesto, spinach and avocado on croissant for $5.50! Cool vibe here with a stage for music? Came here on a weekday morn and it was quiet. Apparently theres HH here too w reasonable prices for the working man or woman. A definite place to hang and assimilate.

Every 2 weeks when I go downtown i pop into theos for breakfast. It's a relaxing place to get coffee or a much prettier yummier cup of wake up. I either get a coffee or a raspberry vanilla creamose/my favorite breakfast croissant sandwich (minus the pesto for me) or a lightly toasted cheese and jalapeños bagel w/cream cheese and when my fiance joins me he gets the cinnamon and sugar French toast which is also so equally delicious. But if I truly get a sweet tooth and just want something small I will choose from one of the choices of baked goods that they get from local bakers. Coffee cake is one of my favorites I've tried. Today I went for a slice of a type of apple bread pie and some hot chocolate. I think if I asked for cool whip cream on top would have made it just perfect. This place is the perfect place to grab a nibble a bit, some coffee, or latte etc Italian soda, creamosa or whatever you set your mind on. You can kick back and enjoy your food /while reading eugene weekly or you are on your phone or labtop watching youtube videos or finishing some paper work. Or you are spacing off at the beautiful mural. This has been a sanctuary and a resting relaxing stop as well as a meeting place where our friends could meet and commun. It honestly just a comfortable great place to get coffee and breakfast and I would love to see it thrive as much as it did before covid.

Awesome place to just sit back and enjoy. Their food options are very limited but decent for the price. Coffee was 4/5 as well. I think the atmosphere is one of the best though..

I needed a waiting place, before it would be time to check into my Air BnB. I saw it was on the top places to eat, on the Visitor Information Center map, so I had to check it out! very reasonable priced drinks. I got a 20oz vanilla raspberry Italian Soda for only $2! The inside was very colorful and fun! A place to visit at least once when in downtown Eugene! The employees are friendly and helpful too!!

Love. Love the up cycled dryer drum. Lights!!

Some of the other reviews were negative on their food...but our food was fantastic. The burgers were moist and not greasy. The waffle cut fries were hot and crispy. The bartenders work non stop to get your drinks and food out quickly. My daughter loved the churro style donuts (but they are messy). The decor is a D&D dive bar scene....so many things to look at as you wait for bingo to start. They just changed the rules and you do have to pay $1.00 per person to play bingo...but where else can you get that type of entertainment for a dollar. We can't wait to return.

At one point, the bartender disappeared for approximately fifteen minutes, leaving several patrons waiting without acknowledgment. When she finally returned, she casually mentioned she had been on a personal phone call. A second woman then stepped behind the bar, immediately clarifying that she was not, in fact, a bartender. When I expressed concern about the extended absence and lack of service--something I would consider standard feedback in any hospitality setting--I was abruptly told I was "speaking badly" about the staff and was asked to leave. This kind of defensiveness and disregard for patrons is deeply unprofessional, especially for an establishment that positions itself within a community where communication, accountability, and mutual respect are paramount. Eugene has a growing nightlife and alternative culture scene, and many people--locals and visitors alike--expect spaces that uphold those values. Based on my experiences, I cannot recommend The Serpent & the Sparrow. There are other venues in town that offer a far more welcoming environment, competent service, and a genuine respect for their patrons.

The food was pretty typical greasy spoon breakfast, which is exactly what I wanted. Solid meal and much appreciated at that hour. I think I heard then say they opened at 4am. On our first morning in our new town, we went to The Original Pancake House for breakfast. It was a simple meal, but one we were grateful we could afford. When we asked for the check, our server smiled and told us someone had already paid for it. That small act of kindness made me feel like I truly belonged in our new home. It reminded me that even in an unfamiliar place, there were good people who cared about others. Since that day, every time we visit The Original Pancake House, we make it a point to pay it forward whenever we can. It's our way of honoring the kindness that meant so much to us and has stuck with me. Beyond the beautiful memory, the food is incredible. It's hands down the best breakfast I've ever had. Comfort food that tastes like it's made with love. You must try the Dutch baby! The ladies who work there are always so warm and welcoming, making every visit feel like coming home. The Original Pancake House in Eugene is a charming, family-friendly spot with genuine warmth and stellar coffee. The casual, lively vibe makes it feel like the proper brunch destination you'd hope for from a legendary breakfast joint. We ordered their hero dish--a side of buttermilk pancakes--and the Irish Omelette. The pancakes delivered real flavor: fluffy, tender, with classic buttermilk tang. My only critique? They arrived cool, likely from sitting in the warmth window a bit too long. Off the griddle, these would shine. The Irish Omelette was more disappointing. Designed to be airy and light with corned beef and potatoes inside, ours was overcooked and rubbery--far from the delightful, pillowy texture it should be. For a restaurant with this history, execution should be consistent. The coffee and service were warm and attentive, which goes a long way. 3/5 stars. Worth visiting for atmosphere, especially if your pancakes arrive hot. Try during slower service to avoid the window-sit fate. The Portland location executes at a higher level.
