Serving food in Oklahoma since the 1940s this Italian gold mine serves many sandwiches, subs, Po, boys and traditional Italian meals you can take to go. They also have fresh made in-house cheeses, sausage and a full butcher shop.

This is truly a hidden gem! I found this place a year ago, but it was closed, and I never got to go in. Today, I realized what I missed....and it was a lot! This is an Italian grocery, and sooooo much more. The shelves are packed with oils, pastas, sauces, olives....but they also make and sell their own cheese!! And their own sausage! And are a butcher! And they make fabulous sandwiches, smoked ribs, sausage and whole chickens!! Their meat looked awesome with thick cut steaks....my mouth was watering as I had a steak discussion with a fellow but never before met meatitarian like myself. We bought a full slab of smoked ribs for $12, and a Boda Bing sandwich, and some caprese salad...and it fed 3 of us and we took home 1/3 slab. They sell craft sodas for $0.79/can and they were delicious and the perfect accents. We dined on the open air but shaded patio next door to live music....what a perfect afternoon. Did I mention they make their own cheese? They have a sample buffet of their cheeses on the top of their meat counter. I also took the opportunity to talk to their "cheese man" and they are all about sustainable production as well! Making cheese while saving the planet, doesn't get much better than that! HIGHLY recommend a visit if you are in the Krebs/McCallister area especially if your in the market for for sausage, a grilled sandwich, some authentic locally made cheese, or just a taste of Italy!!

We purchased two sandwiches on our way to NW Arkansas. The Muffaletta and the Brisket Sandwich. They were both amazing! I can't wait to try out the fresh cheese they had hanging and the selection of cheeses made there local too.

Mama Mia! Choctaw Nation! Home of Lovera's Handmade! Many years ago when residing in our nations capitol, the Washington Post featured an article on this itty bitty city...filled with Italian restaurants and a grocer. The Italians immigrated here to work on the railroads and families set up shop to offer food to the hard working men and women in the area. This market has been here for ages, yet most impressive is how they have integrated modern items while maintaining their traditional roots. This family make their products at a local factory and the traditions and integration continues with the younger generation working with the older generation... You may purchase handmade cheese from local cows, some even use use local beer and coffee, homemade meats, pasta and sauces .Imported olives, spreads and cookies. Indian land to Italian dreams...Lovera's Handmade may be ordered online at: http://www.loverasmarket.com/all-products/ A progressive company rooted in tradition with a gourmet product line! #LoverasGrocers #CHOCBeer #ArtisanAles #SpaceshipEarthCoffee

Found this little gem passing through town on the way to Tulsa. A nice Italian deli that also has a cool variety of other specialty foods. The sandwiches were 6.99 as we are passing through, which is a steal for the amount of meat and goodness included. We got the badda bing sandwiches (Italian sub) and we're not disappointed. They come smashed and toasted, the tomatoes are sundried so I will want to not have those removed next time. Sausage handhelds are also available and come with a bbq sausage in a piece of bread with a shot of bbq or mustard. The sausage is amazing and I think it was a dollar? We did that and one of the "best grilled cheese in town" with the local cheese (fantastic!).

This is a real neat little Italian store. They offer everything Italian including making sandwiches there in the store. They also make their own cheeses and Italian sausages

Whereever you are, change direction and head toward Lovera's. BUY LOVERA'S SMOKED CAPICIOLA CHEESE. If you are a classic sci-fi reader, Larry Niven's Ringworld chronicled a building filled with vampires who would lure their victims by phereomes. The victims would tear of their clothes running into the vampires' floating building to their death. When you have smoked cheese from Lovera's (they make it on premises), you will see the parallel. They also make their own herbed mozzarella. Shawn is the cheese master. On this day trip, we stopped at Whistle Stop in McAlester for lunch. Five star.. We were told Rosanna's in Krebs was a great place, but yelp reviews didn't seem to match up.

Tell me that's not the yummiest looking sandwich you've ever seen. I would make the hour and half drive to eat this deliciousness any day of the week. Super tasty. Loved the store too with unique and tasty Italian finds. A must try when driving through!

Homemade sausage and cheese, excellent fresh meat, imported San Marzano can tomatoes from Italy, This market has been in Krebs since the 1940"s.

Went with the Grilled Italian Sausage because pasta on top of pasta is just wrong. Grilled perfectly with a char on the ends! Really good flavor and pairs really well with the sketti/rav mixture. Meatballs cooked right with plenty of sauce. Definite leftover but why be greedy and ask for seconds just to take it home. Single person serving was way more than enough. Then again when my waiter brings extra meatballs and ravioli I am in heaven! Thought about dessert which is a toss up between the Cannoli and the Chocolate Devine. Think perhaps the Italian Creme Cake though. Italian Creme Cake to Go

The portions are huge so don't let the prices scare you. You can have a private room or opt to eat in the choc room like my husband and I did tonight. We ordered off the bar bites menu and got the anti pasta, salad, bread, spaghetti, meatball, ravioli, and lamb fries. All were cooked to perfection and so delish! We of course had to order a Prairie Artisan beer! Our favorite are the Tiny Esses flavors literally tastes like you're drinking a skittle! They not have tropical Esses and wildberry Esses. The server was so friendly and she was very accommodating! We will continue to patron Pete's place and encourage you to give them a try!

The little convenience store and bait shop known as TJs is a busy stop on the far north side of…read moretown for locals. But there's a little extra offered if you bring an appetite. I occasionally stop in for classic deli meat sandwiches on sliced bread. Let's be honest, we all know a plain ol' sandwich on light bread is way better when someone else makes it for you. I again had Oliver's Sandwich--it's not on the menu but it's buttered and toasted bread, topped with fried bologna, a perfectly fried egg, benefited by the addition of crisp bacon, then American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion, and dressed with both mayo and mustard. Like take me back home to the days of my summer youth!! So tasty and perfect for lunch! No sides were needed because its a big sandwich and is incredibly filling. Maybe room for improvement with a slice of cheddar instead of American but it's already so so good as is. TJs also has a menu offering a variety of options like different types of burgers (bacon, Swiss, patty melt, etc), hot sandwiches, a variety of cold sandwiches, and sides like tots or fries. I've before had a couple burgers and they've all been good, it's just this is my go to place for fried bologna sandwiches. The store has lots of drinks, chips, snacks, and hotbox items to choose from to accompany a meal. The ladies behind the kitchen counter are always accommodating and friendly, and they're quick to get the order made and served to the table if eating in. There's half a dozen tables near the cashiers counter that will seat up to 6-8 each. The tables are near windows so you can sit and watch outside too. It's busy, and there's most usually lots of people going in and out, getting fuel or bait. Stop for whatever is needed but if you desire a meal they certainly have worthwhile sandwiches.
