We have been stopping at Lovera's in Krebs for probably a decade at this point and it is fantastic!!! If you're traveling on 69 north through Oklahoma this is a must stop. Imported great quality Italian foods, homemade Italian sausage, meats and cheeses as well as olives and a whole host of other savory and sweet products. Love this place. From their cheeses to their sandwiches and BBQ to the groceries everything is excellent. We buy several bottles off their balsamic vinegar as it's our favorite brand. My only complaint is their premade meals do not heat up anywhere near the time listed on them. They say for frozen it's 1 hour cook time and for refrigerated it's 30 minutes. We recently purchased several meals and had 2 of them in the fridge for 2 days. After 45 minutes in the oven they were still cold in the middle. One we wound up microwaving to finish. The other we dumped into a baking dish and finished in the oven. This previously happened when we bought the meals and tried to heat them from frozen. We dismissed it the first time but now that we have tried to refrigerate them first we can tell it's definitely an issue. I recommend if you get them to move them to another dish as the issue seems to be the pans they use do not allow the heat to penetrate. read more

This is truly a hidden gem! I found this place a year ago, but it was closed, and I never got to go in. Today, I realized what I missed....and it was a lot! This is an Italian grocery, and sooooo much more. The shelves are packed with oils, pastas, sauces, olives....but they also make and sell their own cheese!! And their own sausage! And are a butcher! And they make fabulous sandwiches, smoked ribs, sausage and whole chickens!! Their meat looked awesome with thick cut steaks....my mouth was watering as I had a steak discussion with a fellow but never before met meatitarian like myself. We bought a full slab of smoked ribs for $12, and a Boda Bing sandwich, and some caprese salad...and it fed 3 of us and we took home 1/3 slab. They sell craft sodas for $0.79/can and they were delicious and the perfect accents. We dined on the open air but shaded patio next door to live music....what a perfect afternoon. Did I mention they make their own cheese? They have a sample buffet of their cheeses on the top of their meat counter. I also took the opportunity to talk to their "cheese man" and they are all about sustainable production as well! Making cheese while saving the planet, doesn't get much better than that! What a treat this place was! I was in town visiting family from California and my nephew took me here. The sandwich I had was the BEST sandwich I've ever had! We also purchased some ribeyes that were of excellent quality. The staff was extremely nice and offered us samples of some cheeses that we also purchased. Found this little gem passing through town on the way to Tulsa. A nice Italian deli that also has a cool variety of other specialty foods. The sandwiches were 6.99 as we are passing through, which is a steal for the amount of meat and goodness included. We got the badda bing sandwiches (Italian sub) and we're not disappointed. They come smashed and toasted, the tomatoes are sundried so I will want to not have those removed next time. Sausage handhelds are also available and come with a bbq sausage in a piece of bread with a shot of bbq or mustard. The sausage is amazing and I think it was a dollar? We did that and one of the "best grilled cheese in town" with the local cheese (fantastic!). read more

This is such a neat market that I wish we had in OKC! I've heard of and seen their stuff for several years, so I was excited to finally visit in person. Loved seeing the different Italian imported goods as well and the locally made sausages, sauces and more. Since we were camping nearby we couldn't properly stock up on the items I'd usually want from a place like this. I was however very happy to find taralli, and we tried the chocolate cake. The cake was slightly dry but the icing made it yummy still. Happy to have a place like this in OK! read more

Like many, we came here after our car group cruised to Pete's. They had so many different items it was almost a little overwhelming!! They had a beautiful selection of meat and cheese and other sundries. My wife purchased a few items, including some amazing olive oil! We tried one of the prepared desserts and I can strongly recommend you do the same. It was so amazing and delicious! The serving was also large enough that a few of us shared it! I warn you to save some room in belly to try some of the amazing offerings. We are going to have to go back and skip Pete's and go straight here! read more

This is such a little Oklahoma gem. Yes, they are known for their cheese but they are so much more than that! I love to go in and grab items I'm not familiar with to try something new. I also love that they put together their own spice blends for $5 or less. Fresh meats, cheese and you can even pick up a sandwich if you want something tasty to go. The only thing lacking when I go is service. This last time for example, we had to wait to try a sample at the meat counter & then the person helping immediately left. I had to peep into the employee area and ask for help again while that person was texting to actually give them our order. Then, we waited at the register again for someone to check us out. A line of 3 or so people formed behind us as well. There were several employees, just none on the floor. I would love to say that's a one time occurrence but it is something I notice every time I pop in. read more

The victims would tear of their clothes running into the vampires' floating building to their death. When you have smoked cheese from Lovera's (they make it on premises), you will see the parallel. The market isn't huge, but they seem to have a bit of everything - cheese, meats, sausage, cookies, oils, tomatoes, candies, pasta, etc. They make their own cheese and have a deli that serves sandwiches. This is the only place in Oklahoma that you can get real authentic imported Italian goods. One of my favorite things to get is the imported prosciutto. They also have a domestic prosciutto but I suggest you spend the extra money and get the real deal, mmmm so good. You can also get imported parmagiano reggiano, it's the real stuff from Parma, Italy. Again, not cheap but worth it. Loveras also makes their own award winning cheeses and meats. They have a couple of different kinds of cheese. Their claim to fame is the Caciocavera, it has a mild taste with a creamy texture. My favorite is the Aged Caciocavera. The aged version is a little more sharp with a harder texture similar to parmesan. For the meat they have various homemade sausages and meatballs. I haven't tried any of them so I can't speak for them. There is a full butcher shop in the back so you can get lots of different cuts of beef, pork, and chicken. Loveras also has their own brand of Italian essentials like sauce, olive oil, and seasonings. I use their Italian seasoning when making my own sauce. The only thing I wish they had but don't carry is semolina flour. I make my own pasta and semolina is a flour from Italy that is used to make authentic pasta dough. When in Krebs Loveras is a must stop though you do have to make it there pretty early because they close at 6. read more

After having had some singularly mediocre experiences with the "Italian" restaurants in the McAlester/Krebs area, I stopped in here. I'm glad I did. I bought some homemade cheese and sausages for the road, and two jars of (really tasty) hot, pickled asparagus. I also purchased a bottle of good quality olive oil. (Now, it was nothing I couldn't have found in OKC, granted, but . . . ) Thank you, Lovera's, for being the one bright spot in my trip to the northernmost cusp of Little Dixie. After three or four faux Italian meals that made The Olive Garden look halfway appealing, your shop was a little oasis. Very friendly staff, by the way -- thanks, too, for that. read more

My husband and I visited this store a week ago Saturday after hiking at Robbers Cave. We bought the brisket to eat that afternoon and I couldn't believe how good it was! We bought the chicken primavera that they make to bake and some fresh bread and cooked it the next day and I knew them how much we would enjoy all the pastas, homemade noodles, their Italian sausage, homemade meatballs and cheeses we purchased to take home. The chicken is unbelievably tender and the flavor is amazing! We bought a truffle Mikes original and it is rich in flavor and makes any pasta dish one you don't want to miss. Their famous cheese is worth any distance. We bought several of their sweets which were just as perfect as the rest of their delicious food's. We got the vodka sauce, spaghetti sauce, Italian dressing, balsamic dressing, frozen spicy sausage & frozen reg sausage, a loaf of bread, all Lovera's brand, and it was all awesome! If you happen to be passing this area, and have a cooler, it's worth stopping here. Also, the local products that they sell are also amazing and reasonably priced. We got half a wheel of parm (from a local company) that was fantastic. We've been putting it on everything and my kids have been cubing it to eat with grapes. The only thing I didn't LOVE was the (frozen) crab sauce. Meh. My husband liked it, but it just wasn't as awesome as everything else. Next time we go back we'll be getting their smoked meats, more Italian dressing, their brand of balsamic vinegar and olive oil, MORE bread, MORE sausage and of course MORE CHEESE! read more

Driving home from a work event at Eastern OK State College and convinced my board member to stop at Lovera's for tasty Italian treats. The store is small but very organized. Each aisle is filled with Lovera's specialty items as well as Italian necessities from other makers. The offer homemade dried and fresh pasta, sauces, olive oils, a fresh counter with cuts of meat, sausages, cheeses, etc., frozen sausages and meat balls, cheeses, and they will make you a cannoli to order! Seriously, the cannoli was sooo delicious! The ricotta filling was just sweet enough and the shell was perfectly crunchy. I have to go back to the area later this month and will bring a larger cooler so I can stock up on cheese, sausages, fresh pasta (GNOCCHI), and of course a cannoli or twelve. read more

We love Lovera's! We buy a little of everything (stuffed olives, spices, fresh cheese) when we visit the area. Our most favorite items, however, are the freshly frozen entrees. They are usually 5 for the price of 4 and travel without thawing for our 2 hour drive. When it's a busy week with after school activities, or it's my night to cook (lol!) I thaw one in the refrigerator the day before and we have dinner in about an hour the following night! They are as delicious as if they were just made, and my kitchen isn't a disaster. I believe they ship also, but we have not tried that method since Krebs in in beautiful eastern Oklahoma and we enjoy the drive. read more

My husband and I went to Lovera's market upon the suggestion of a friend who works there. What we purchased from their deli/sandwich area was a muffalato sandwich that is amazing and my husband got a handcrafted pastrami and cheese sandwich that he ate fast when we got home and it filled him up. This place is awesome. Their cheeses are amazing. It's the kind of grocer that you don't go with a list, but show up to browse and discover something new. It does stink that they aren't in a more populated area. About that review that made it sound like their shipping was super slow. Don't let that turn you away from giving them a shot. Even if they were slow it's worth it. It says all over their site, in bold, that they only ship perishables on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. It's probably so you don't get rancid food. She said she submitted her order on the 20th, and they responded on the 21st (reasonable), which was a Thursday--when they don't ship. The following Monday was Christmas, they're closed I assume, so that would make the shipping the 26th... the date they told you they would ship. With the exception of taking Christmas off, they did exactly what they advertised. Acceptable/average behavior would just be to do exactly what they said they do on their site. They did something commendable and nice by recognizing that maybe you wanted it before Chrismas and emailed you, offering to overnight it. That sounds like good service, not bad service. read more
