Stoped in while driving through OK and found this gem of a dinner. Amazing quality good portion sandwichs and salads. We had the club and the champagne salad and took half for later on the road. Also, don't forget to grab a few sweets to go, the chocolate cake was awsome. read more

In town for work and had a short break for lunch. Super amazing service - our group of 5 walked in and one woman (presumably one of the sisters/owners?) came out to take our order so the front cashier wouldn't get backed up. The sandwiches were absolutely scrumptious. I ordered the Italian with a cup of tomato soup, my coworkers ordered the French dip(x2), a mega turkey club, and a bowl of tomato bisque. Food was made to order, came out piping hot, and was so delicious. Everyone raved over their sandwiches and sides/soups. Great lunch place, you could tell by the crowd. Picked up a large to go order or assorted sammiches. When I returned to work, all the orders were complete with no complaints. Nothing missed. I had the Big Daddy Club. Wasn't expecting it to be a hot pressed panini, so nice surprise and soooo good. Cheese was dripping of the side. Musta been 1/2lb of meat! Oh and the bacon!! I would hope that the McAlester locals already know what a delightful restaurant Lucy's Two is. Open for lunch Monday through Friday from 10:30am - 2pm, Lucy's Two has so much going for it. Lucy, the warm and engaging granddaughter of the original Lucy, greeted us immediately as we entered the restaurant in the historic Aldridge Hotel in downtown McAlester. After alerting us to the daily specials and signature highlights of the menu, Lucy came back to our table again and again to check on us and for feedback on her food. With soups, salads, sandwiches, paninis, wraps, unusual sides and fresh baked desserts to choose from; it took us awhile to decide. I settled on the half sandwich/cup of soup combo - "Tear It Up Trav," a Ham & gouda cheese w/jalapeno spread on honey wheat bread panini with the zuppa toscana soup. My husband went for the "Rockin Reuben," a Pastrami, swiss cheese sauerkraut, on marble rye bread whole panini and on recommendation, we chose a slice of carrot cake. It was all delicious. The soup was my favorite. Rich with butter and cream, the Italian sausage and potatoes were perfect with the bacon and kale. Tom's Reuben was big and the sauerkraut bold. The carrot cake was heavy with pecans and raisins; but not too sweet and plenty for two people. There's plenty of off street parking right next to the restaurant and lots of tables and chairs inside. From the number of people happily slurping and munching away, I 'd say McAlester likes Lucy's Two and so did we! read more

Fairly busy on a Monday afternoon. We found parking ok and walked inside. The wait was not long at all. I like that the menu is up on the wall and on a physical menu. We decided to try a few things. I got the French dip with potato salad and it was the best dish we ate. We also shared the garden salad with champagne dressing on the side. It was a nice salad. Boy did we hit the jackpot. Great food, super service and just the friendliest group of ladies. Downtown so parking is not real convenient and the place doesn't look that great, but the food is excellent. I had the half Reuben and a bowl of broccoli cheese soup. Very good! But the carrot cake is the best I have ever had and I've had many of them. I wish I didn't live 400 miles from this place. The people were friendly. Family owned restaurant by 2 sisters honoring their Italian grandmothers recipes. Walking in Lucy's, we smell the wonderful aroma of fresh baked bread, not just any bread, but delicious Muffuletta bread. Great menu, with daily specials. Natalie (owner) served the 5 of us complimentary 'Bread Pudding", the cubed bread tossed in a flavorful creamy custard was one of the best bread puddings I have eaten - Kudos to the sisters!!! I ordered the French dip - fresh soft hoagie, Swiss cheese, au jus for dipping - very good. I also ordered a cup of their homemade creamy Tomato soup topped with grated Parmesan cheese and served with fire crackers- delicious. The Chicken Salad (chopped chicken breast, mayo, red grapes) on a croissant -great, Daddy club Panini had; bacon, ham, turkey, American & Swiss cheese, lettuce & tomato on sourdough bread and a side of Texas caviar- great! One of the best sandwich/salad/dessert shops you will find anywhere & I have to say the best in McAlester, OK. I had the Pretzel Bun with turkey & it was AMAZING. The potato salad was the best I have ever had, with bacon & green onions in it. And I made the mistake of ordering a Bread Pudding dessert (which was so rich & delicious) after ordering a full sandwich without realizing the size of the sandwich. Owned by some very friendly, lovely folks who really treated every customer like their own. Definitely going back there & looking forward to trying some of their other specialties. read more
