How have I lived on the Ave for almost a year now and not knew this place exists?! Came here on my lunch hour to get a quick coffee to go. I order a hot caramel latte and it was perfection! It was not too sweet and not underlay sweetened; it really was the Goldilocks middle road. The coffee shop has a lot of greenery and plenty of places to sit down for a bit. To be fair, the coffee shop was about to close in 30 minutes so it was pretty empty. I came with a coworker that got a Matcha and she told me next time I should try to come try their pastries. I ordered the strawberry fields matcha and sadly it didn't meet my standards for a good matcha. The color was way lighter than I'm used to and the matcha taste was very subtle - TOO subtle. It mostly tasted like milk with a hint of matcha. The strawberry puree was tasty however. I got the goodfella. It's a shaken espresso and really good. They have bakery items but get there early cause there wasn't much when I got there and depending on the day they can sell out fast. The service was really nice and whether you're a new customer or a regular, the staff makes you feel like you're part of the community which is an amazing feeling for any coffee spot. One of the best coffee shops in Ventura! Definitely in my Top Five Coffee Shops, and Ima tell you why. First off, let's consider the high quality beans they use for espresso drinks. They really make a difference. A difference you taste in every sip. I mostly hang out at a different coffee shop across town. I love the espresso drinks at my usual. But on those special occasions when I want to really indulge and treat myself to the highest quality cappucino in town, I drive straight to Lovewell. Lovewell is one of only three places I've found in Ventura that make a legit cappuccino. At most places, including my usual coffee shop, when you order a cappuccino you actually get a small latte. They use way too much steamed milk. The "cappuccino" at most places is usually served in a 12 oz cup. But here at Lovewell they know how to make an actual cappuccino. It's not diluted with superfluous steamed milk. Here a cappuccino is served in an 8 oz cup. Proper! Another reason why this place is in my Top Five Coffee shops is the people that work here. It's fun to get a drink at Lovewell because the staff is so welcoming. They're all smiley and cheerful, like they're genuinely happy to see you. You get the feeling that they really want your drink to be exactly the way you want it. On several occasions I've been standing somewhere in the cafe waiting for my drink and have had the counterperson come out from behind the counter and bring the drink straight to me instead of just calling my name. That's some great customer service. Still not convinced you need to check this place out? Consider this: The pastry case at Lovewell is nearly always filled with temptations that are almost impossible to resist. I say nearly always filled because if you show up too late in the day you might find that they're sold out. If I see Sugar Buns in the case when I walk in I know exactly how the visit is going to play out. I don't even try to fight, I just curse Satan and order me one. Then I sit and enjoy it with my cappuccino and praise the Lord. Lord have mercy those Sugar Buns are good! So, yeah, I highly recommend Lovewell because they have great coffee, great pastries and they are great people. And also because they make a true cappuccino here. This spot has just moved to my favorite 3 matcha spots. When we walked in Steven immediately said hello! We told him it was our first time and he went into such great detail about the matcha they serve which was so nice! Rachel heard us talking and came over with a huge smile on her face and also added in some fun facts about the matcha- including that they double stift it so it is such a clean matcha. I have never had a matcha this clean and smooth before!! The color was a beautiful green smooth color. The cappuccino was also so smooth it tasted like butterscotch, although it wasn't too sweet at all! It was not that accidic and temperature was perfect! Jacob gave me my matcha and they were all awaiting my response and when I say this is seriously one of the BEST matchas and best experiences at a cafe. They have a lot of indoor and outdoor dining which was lovely we enjoyed our drinks basking in the sun having the best time!! We stayed for a bit and saw each of the employees personally walk over the drinks to the guests, that added such a lovely touch of Customer service. trying out a new study area in Ventura and I loved the ambience and coffee was great I got a iced mocha which was delicious. The guy working was very sweet and had my drink out pretty fast. I spent around an hour and a half there and I liked the corner seating area for anyone looking to spend a good amount of time working or studying it has an outlet incase your phone or laptop dies it's pretty convenient! It's in a corner. Allowing plenty of parking but I did not see accessible parking. I love the aesthetics of this place and the employees so kind, patient & welcoming. The drinks are delicious and they have rotating specials. I've had vanilla lattes, white choc peppermint, and an herbal tea. They offer sweet and savory breakfast options. I'm a sucker for bagels and cream cheese and they carry SEVERAL cream cheeses (regular, chive and onion, and jalapeño). They are decked out for the holidays right now so it's extra cozy and cute! First, lets talk about the service!! It was exceptional! I was very indecisive. Emily had amazing patience, kindness, suggestions, and great conversation. She even wrote sweet words on my cup, Yelp Babe! Me: My mood.. I was in a blah mood when i arrived. i arrived near closing as I was on a Yelp Elite invite list. My mood went from blah to happy, fortunate, and grateful!! I received bonus goodies from Yelp: a Yelp mug & 2 color changing plastic cups with lids & straws. Lovewell gave us an incredible box of assorted goodies to eat. It was some of the most delicious foods I have ever eaten. I took it home. Once I got home, I put the Cranberry white chocolate scone in the microwave and added a smidge of butter. It was scrumpdillyicious. I believe we all have our favorite places to go especially on special occasions... well Lovewell is that place for me! I also ate their English Butter Biscuits. They were sweet and absolutely delicious. That night, I barely shared the Chocolate Zucchini muffin with hubby. My drink was a flavored black tea. It was also delicious. I couldn't stop talking about how amazing Lovewell is. I went in August. This EPIC review is long overdue. read more

I don't know how it's taken us so long to find this place, but we are so happy that we did. The is the cutest coffee shop, and it's so welcoming from the moment you step in. It just gives such a cozy vibe, and the staff are so pleasant and friendly. Their chai tea latte was delicious, and their seasonal menu has some heavy hitters as well. The London Fog's Bestie was such a delightful floral spin on the traditional London Fog that was both delicious and refreshing. I was blessed to be chosen for another Yelp Elite Event here in Ventura County & today we were invited to @lovewellteaandcoffee in Ventura off the Avenue, as the locals call it. I'm rarely on this side of Ventura, but when I am, it's always a real treat because I find some amazing gems in the side. We were invited to have coffee and pastries, and they have a wonderful curated list of drinks for the summer season. It was perfect! I found it really interesting because I'm a person who orders drinks by their mood, & I happen to order the Matcha colada. It sounds a little strange & interesting but trust me it was really delicious. It was a great balance of both the Matcha and it's earthiness and the wonderful flavors of a piña colada so you can still have a summer drink and get your caffeine on in the middle of the day or early in the morning. We were given a drink, but we also got a large, clear, plastic box filled with pastries by @madetoeat, and it had a chocolate zucchini muffin, English biscuits, and two of these amazing scones that had white chocolate and cranberries in it. The scone, which I normally hate scones by the way, was actually really delicious, tender and it was moist! It wasn't one of those rockhard scones that you struggle to eat and almost break a tooth off. Rachel, who is the manager of the coffee shop told us this amazing story about the owners, Emily and Andrea, who love going to Ireland for the summer and they wanted to create a coffee shop that was similar to the coffee culture in Ireland. They have a saying they're about a third space. Your first space is your home, your second space is work, and then your third space is the place you choose to be and they created Lovewell with that in mind. Let me tell you it has a different feel than other coffee shops. It's very warm, welcoming & a nice and inviting vibe that you don't get everywhere else. I was so overwhelmed with all the things to look at, around the coffee shop. It was so beautiful! I like that it was bright natural light coming from the windows & lots of bright colors. I have seen many people say good things about Lovewell I finally had a chance to try it. I love the location. It's calm and quiet. They have outdoor seating and indoor seating. I love how they have a kids table and a few items for them to play with. I love it when places have a section of merchandise to buy. My husband doesn't because I want everything. Lol. They have a cute section with cups, water bottles, art items, etc. Their pastries look delicious. Both workers that were there were very sweet. Discovered this hidden gem on the north side of the Avenue, worth the drive! The coffee was delicious, got me a Vanilla Iced Latte, not too sweet and not overly powdered by the coffee. The Almond Croissant was so flaky and full of almond flavor! The fact that they warmed it up made it that much tastier. The service is quick, I was in and out with time to spare. They also fruit bowls with protein etc. I enjoy coming here mostly because not only do they offer premium coffee and yummy eats, but they have the nicest little play area.
