A family member hired this contractor, paid the project in full, and to this day the work remains unfinished. More than five years later, the hall bathroom still does not have a completed tub or shower. Throughout this entire process, there has been excuse after excuse, promises that the work would be finished, and repeated commitments that were never honored. Delays can happen on any construction project, but five years is beyond unreasonable--especially after being paid in full. Communication has been inconsistent, and every time it seemed like there was finally going to be progress, another excuse would follow. If you're considering hiring this contractor, I strongly recommend getting everything in writing, avoiding full payment until all work is completed to your satisfaction, and carefully considering whether this is someone you want to trust with your home.
