Will never, ever hire this company again. During my last move (with a different company) two men easily accomplished my two bedroom apartment move in under 5 hours, including carrying my couch down 4 flights of stairs. This time, with THREE men (they called me the night before, convincing me I absolutely must hire 3), my brother, and myself helping- they barely finished. Pam assured me I'd be so happy with the team, the process, and everything. couldnt be further from the truth. They broke my dresser, dragged furniture on the floor ("oops, it doesn't have a furniture pad?" the guy says when caught...) broke a lamp, broke shelving, damaged my desk and numerous other items. Nothing to say except, hm.... They didnt know how to load items (or they didnt care), try not upside down and not with heavier items on top of fragile ones- thats a good place to start. We spent a lot of time labeling boxes fragile, TOP, this side up, etc. But that didnt help. one guy was rude to me, my boyfriend, and the other movers. It was very uncomfortable. The other two guys were great, but towards the end I felt like I was lifting heavier items than one of the guys, who acted like he was either 1) too worn out to work or 2) trying to extend the job and make more $$. The rate seems great until you realize they nickel and dime the sh*t out of you. Other movers I have used charge a flat rate and double drive time. Thats standard. but tape? and an 8% cost for fuel? (we moved 2 miles and that was over $40) They dont announce these charges until the workers arrive, and what are you supposed to do then- you dont have much choice. They werent even able to explain how they calculated all the charges. I dont know why I deviated from my great experience from my last move- WORST DECISION EVER. The guys showed up a few minutes early, ready to go. They had a bright, professional attitude and, since I'd packed up things into various containers already, efficiently loaded it into the truck. Then we drove to the new place, at which they efficiently unloaded everything. It was worth the $210 (plus gratuity) to have them take care of what would have been hours, or even over a day's work for me, even with friends or day laborers. They were polite, worked well, and their price was less than the competition. I'll be using this company again for my next move. Note: Credit card pricing is $75/hour for two guys and the truck, with a three hour minimum. There is a discount for $65/hour for paying with cash. Saves you at least $30 so it's worth a trip to the ATM. read more

This company are thieves plane and simple. They black mailed us to pay $300 for our boxes to enter our city limits. They then forced us to sign acceptance of order without unpacking and showing proof of all boxes despite the fact that we paid for full service. Upon opening our boxes, we found all our electronics missing. They also broke our doorbell while moving our boxes indoors and broke a chest and desk. After filling claims, they were only willing to compensate us $50 for a waiver they we wouldn't press charges. STAY AWAY FROM THEM. THEY ARE CROOKS! read more

THE WORST! If I could give them zero stars, I would. I hired two movers in October 2013 to move my apartment into a storage unit. First red flag - one guy started complaining because my apartment was up some stairs (10 steps at most). They loaded up and met me at my storage unit. Another red flag - the same guy complained about other people being at the storage place. Yes sir, other people use this storage place as well. Kept complaining about where to park - even though the owner of the storage place tried explaining to him over and over where is the best place to park the truck. Lots of attitude from the mover. This is when it became unbearable. The two movers had NO idea how to pack a storage unit. They took HOURS. Long story short - they broke two lamps (that's all I knew of at the time) and they couldn't fit all of my stuff into the unit (i.e. BED). I had to go back and refit it all by myself. Let's see...how about you put the big stuff in FIRST not last. As they were leaving, I paid them, said thanks and walked away. The complainer didn't deserve a thanks at all. He stopped me and ASKED FOR A TIP! After complaining the whole time, breaking my stuff, leaving my bed outside and giving the storage company owner a hard time, he didn't deserve anything. Forgot to mention, they took off all of the padding and shrink wrap I took hours putting on so it would grip better - leaving me with NASTY beds and couches. Fast forward three months, I get new (AMAZING) movers from who opened my unit. Oh look, two more broken lamps and a broken recliner. Thanks Low Cost Movers. Your name definitely says it all. I blame myself, nobody should hire this place. I've moved across the country 5 times...nothing has even broken. This was a 10 mile move. By the way, the new movers were AMAZING! We chose this company by a referral of a friend who had a friend that knew them. My husband handled the booking. He initially wanted 2 guys (we had friends who were also coming) but was convinced by owner that 3 would be better and save us money. He agreed BUT then didn't feel right about that and called back 2 days prior to the move and discussed over the phone that we only wanted 2 guys. She agreed and all was good. UNTIL 3 GUYS SHOW UP AT OUR HOUSE! AND almost 2 hours late mind you!! At that point, he called Pam and left her a message which he never received a call back about. We were suckered into now paying for 3 guys to be there- that was not our choice. The guys were ok (from what I witnessed). At the end, as the totals were tallied up, we got the final cost. And to agree with other reviews, there are TONS of hidden costs that they don't tell you. Ie tape and such that they use on their own. My husband gets our card number and then mover said "oh we have to add the card fee" which was an additional $55 to use the card. On speaker phone, mover called in the card number and amount to processing company and the card was charged. It immediately showed up on our acct as pending. Our move was on a Sunday and a couple days later, Pam leaves a message (which is saved) saying "give me a call when you can. I just wanted to see how your move went". THEN A WEEK LATER- the charge processed to our account at $100 more than was quoted!!! My husband then calls her and plays it cool while she asks about move and all that. She wasn't going to mention that she added $100 Unauthorized to our credit card! She then plays it off that it was her worker her added it up wrong (but it was all added up together with a calculator to begin with! But the guy had made adjustments because they took a long break and such as well that shouldn't have been on our time). She was caught in multiple lies on the phone! At the very least, he kept telling her, "if there was an issue and added wrong, fine, but you call the person and tell them there was an issue with their bill. You didn't do that! I didn't even know until I went and saw acct posted." She says when she called asking about the move, that was her calling to discuss bill. LIE! Had we paid cash, she would've have been able to steal from us! And yes, I call it steal, because when you do not notify the person you are taking something, you are by definition stealing it. That's the short version of why we would never use this company again and would never recommend them! read more

THIEVES, THIEVES. After picking up my things from a moving broker, instead of calling me before delivery they just randomly called 2 hours before delivery on a phone that they had borrowed from someone at a truck stop. Driver didn't speak english. I tried to explain that i didn't have a place to live and to call back to arrange delivery the next day. No one called me the next day. I tried to call back the cell and realized it was some rando. Then, after sleuthing out the office by threatening my moving broker with legal action, these rotgut mongrels were unable to schedule delivery and I ended up having to fly out there to pick up my stuff, into a uhaul, and then drive back home. They essentially held my things hostage. Despite not performing the services that they had been contractually obligated to perform, they made me the balance of my bill with the moving broker. Thanks Ari or whatever your name was, it was great meeting you. I'm sorry that you are too blazed to run a legitimate business. Oh hey and btw, there's totally nothing shady about insisting on only cash payment. That seems wicked legit. read more

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, NEVER USE THESE MOVERS!!!!!! This was the WORST moving experience! The guys finally got to our house at 10:45 to start moving and at 8:45 pm my husband told them they needed to be done. Within 45 minuets we had 3 broken glass candle holders due to 1 of the movers trying to carry a huge area rug by himself and dropping it onto the glass, he said oh sorry. Another mover dropped a box which my husband witnessed but was carrying something at the time so he couldn't look at the box that was dropped, two weeks later we found the box of irreplaceable family gifts buried in the garage and everything in the box marked fragile was broken. The whole reason we even hired movers was because our bedroom furniture was expensive and heavy and we didn't want it to be damaged, well wouldn't you know our headboard now has a silver dollar size piece missing from the front corner. The nightstands and armoire are chipped and dinged ( I don't think a 5 year old could have done as much damage). We now have two holes in our walls from the movers that we get to fix. The best part is that when they were leaving they were so mad that they didn't get a TIP, are you kidding me!! After trying to contact Pam who said that her guys are great, love their job, are well paid and fast and efficient we got a hold of Kenny who we had never talked to, he told us we should have hired more guys and paid more money (final bill was $900.00) offered us $200.00 off and offered us a BIG apology. We only got the apology because my husband had told him that it would have been nice to receive an apology from the company. Long story short broken items, damaged furniture, damaged walls, expensive long day and to top it all off we spent the next day and a half moving the remaining items to our new house! bad rude service. they damaged my new couch and my new cabinets. damaged the screen and back door they removed to load the furniture and refrigerator through. they removed the legs on the couch and put them back crooked. both drivers had a bad attitude and seemed not very professional. look like ex cons. they unloaded the rest of my items and left them in the backyard for me to move them. never call them unless you want bad slow service and your items destroyed. read more

We moved a couple weeks ago, and the guys that came were great. They showed up on time, were super friendly and were extremely cautious about all of our stuff. They made sure none of our furniture was damaged, and everything they took apart in the move, they put back together at our new place. Worst moving experience of my life!! I asked Pam who booked the appointment about ANY potential costs that I could incur. She said "nope, just the hourly plus 10$ for the tape to wrap the blankets for my furniture". I was given an estimate of 4-5 hours. The guys took 7 hours. After 3 hours to pack up we got to the new place and I was told that I needed to pay for 6 1/2 hours of work before they even started to unload. I was charged $41.00 for gas mileage for a ten minute drive, $24.00 for the tape to wrap the blankets, and $40.00 for a "hoisting" fee because my couch was not able to fit in the elevator and had to be brought up the steps. The mover was yelling at me at one point telling me that I would be charged $150.00 hoisting fee for the extra 2 flights of stairs. I had to call Pam a few times throughout the day to discuss the things that were happening in this very stressful move. She was very curt and displayed very little compassion, especially when I started crying because she was rude on the phone as I was simultaneously being yelled at and corrected about hoisting fees from the mover. The movers at times throughout the day were complaining about the job and yelling at each other. It gets worse. They broke 2 planter pots, one dish that was a gift, one shoe organizer, and broke the top of my armoire! The next day I was texted by one of the movers apologizing for making me cry and he asked me out to lunch and wanted to buy me a bottle of wine. I'm sure his intention came from a good place but it was completely unprofessional, inappropriate, and made me very uncomfortable to have someone texting me. It would've been nice to get an actual phone call from the company apologizing. I DID receive a phone call from my new apartment manager telling me that the movers damaged the lawn of my new neighbors because they had driven up on their lawn. I also received a phone call from the handyman that Low Cost was going to send to fix my armoire. This guy walked in and started making small talk with me telling me how "comfortable" my couch looked to him rather than looking at the damage to my armoire. He said that he would have to get some pieces cut at the hardware store and when he called back I said that I was going to work and then having a friend over so it would have to be another day. His response was "I could be a friend to you too" with a laugh. I was COMPLETELY uncomfortable with this company and did not want anyone from this company to come back. NO customer service, broken furniture, and costs that were not discussed upfront. I will NEVER use this company again or refer anyone to them. read more
