I wish I could give no stars. We initially made our call to Certified Moving Solutions. Master Moving Inc. picks ups out belongings and these are the third people we have to contact. We got up charged $1000 because we were severely under quoted space which I'm pretty sure was on purpose now. They still haven't delivered our things and we're supposed to be here November 17th. The dispatch said there is a range on the delivery dates and that what I put was the first available date. So why were they not there. She tried to bring up that some tenants are not there on time. So what happens when the movers are going on 2 days late??? I told them we were on the second floor in our new space a month or more before they picked our stuff up. So why do I get a call saying we will have to pay 75$ more? Why couldn't they tell us this when I relayed that information. And the logistics person who calls and tells me this can't send me a copy of the contract. Absolute bullshit. Stay always from these scammers. read more

Move date: August 2018 Move distance: about 100 miles The team arrived 45 minutes after the agreed window, immediately told us our items wouldn't all fit on the truck and we needed a two-day move.   All our items did fit on the truck with space to spare and a two-day move wasn't an option.   The team was slooooooow and eventually told us we'd have to pack - although we paid for a full pack service - this was after they'd already been on property for 4+ hours and hadn't completed even one room. My husband and I completed over 65% of the small item packing and some of the furniture disassembly to assist. All the small item packing by the team was haphazard, unwrapped and unlabeled.   The team had no respect for our possessions or the building. Our landlord noted new scratches to the stone tile and wood floors, dirt tracked through the carpets and gouges to the doorframes. We have photo evidence of all of this.   Nine hours after the movers arrived they departed to our destination. This meant they traveled during rush hour which added an hour to the journey time.   On arrival at the destination, the team clearly had no intention of unpacking, stacked boxes wherever and had to be asked repeatedly to reassemble furniture. When placing the refrigerator they left it dented and wobbling then laughed at us when we complained.   We have moved many times and have never experienced this level of service, disinclination to complete the task, or snail-like speed from a removal team.   I chose All American Movers because of the terrific customer service I received during the quote/booking process.   We paid extra for full pack and unpack. We completed much of the pack and were left with all the unpacking. Throughout the move, the team leader constantly hinted they'd need more money and we felt he was laughing at us for choosing this company. read more

They were absolutely horrible and made our move the worst nightmare ever. It's been 8 months and I've recuperated enough (I think) now to post this. Save yourself - next time I'm moving with a Uhaul! 1.dropped 10 boxes from truck lift while loading -I think it was dishes as there was glass in our driveway from it. 2. they used our packing materials and charged us for it At this point we should have just said - nevermind. Stop what you are doing we dont want to use you. But we were moving across the country and were stressed and tight on time. We just wanted to get this over with so we just turned a blind eye. 3. They wanted to deliver our things early which we could not do. Then I called 2 weeks later to find out status of delivery and was told "dispatch will let you know as soon as they know." I then called a week after that and they did not know the status of where our things were. Then they called back and said that the driver was in the hospital and that they would have our stuff to us the next day. Okaaay... 4. damaged (literally smashed to pieces) glass bowls and plates ( prob from the drop mentioned above - should have taken a picture but irritated at the sight and threw away) 5. damaged computer screen - which this one I told them, I dont care about anything else, this computer needs to show up in tact. It was working kind of funky and then the computers hard drive eventually crashed. 6. cut up orginal artwork (i'm an artist, and they xacto knifed one of my original artworks) 7. Many many broken frames We also asked them to recommend a car delivery service. We shipped 3 cars, 1. 2 of them got dry rot and we had to replace all the wheels. 2. Damage on the underside of all 3 cars. 3. The delivery time of each car was unknown until the day of delivery which was difficult to coordinate. When we called to get ETA, we were told that they could not reach the driver, on multiple occassions. We were also given a delivery date and the driver never showed up. read more

I would love to give these guys 5 stars! They were on time, helpful, friendly and careful with my stuff. They busted their butts in the June Los Angeles heat to do my job in the 5 hour time frame estimated. I gave them a huge tip for working so well/efficiently. Only reason why I can't give them that fifth star is because their truck was filthy so my clean kitchen items arrived with white powder all over and inside the box. Also I used their free wardrobe boxes to move my clothes - great! - but they were missing one bar and a whole wardrobe box couldn't be utilized so I had to move a large load of clothes myself a few days later. Carla, how do you even think that someone that books a moving more than one month in advance can change the moving to the next day??? This is just a joke. I haven't received by the way and even if i did wouldn't accept it since the moving was already scheduled. Your voicemail is also wrong since hours of operation on Saturday were from 9 am. You should've offer a solution, an alternative and pay for it. I received my money back but I expect more. You caused me so many problems that you have no idea...i had to move my internet appointment at the new house because i was 3 hours behind. The gentleman that came to move me today were absolutely amazing. They were on time, extremely efficient, and gentle with my property. They were awesome with time time management and helping me stay within my budget. I saw the negative reviews but they were so amazing I can't fathom anyone having a bad experience. Cesar, Ever, Diego, and Salvador worked really well together and were very polite and understanding to me and my daughters. I have really large heavy furniture and downsides my home. They were able to make suggestions and provide me with a real idea of the amount of time the move will take. While I have no desire to move again I will absolutely use this company and refer my fr ends to this company. Thank you everyone for such an awesome move. read more

The movers did an excellent job. Very kind and professional! They came within the time frame that was given and were quick. I would definitely recommend them to someone. HOWEVER, I would not recommend they go through the 800 service because they will lie to you. I was told it would be $99 per hour and a max of 4 hours. Once the movers came (and it was too late to cancel of course) I was told it was $99 per hour if I paid cash and $109 if I paid with a card. Also, my estimated time changed to 5 hours. I called the movers back and they said they would reimburse me, but then I never heard back from them. I called back again and then they told me I had to send an email. The employees were very nice when it came to taking my money, but are very hesitant when it come to fixing their mistakes. read more

I've used this company 3 times and have had great crews each time. Very professional and hard working, almost non stop, Took very few breaks if any. Absolute machines with great attitudes. Nothing got damaged, which sometimes you have to expect a little damage when moving. My Response to MAM's response of my review: Don't even try it, My American Movers! I just said that I am a REPEAT customer (and had you on speed dial). Your dismissive claim that I was never a customer further confirms my concern that your customer service has changed for the worse. First Review: I used this company a total of 4 times. The first 3 times were reasonable. I appreciated that they helped pack and wrap heavy items, delivered everything (including washer and dryer), AND set up big furniture items in the new residence. With the exception of a few nicks and bruises to a few pieces, I was relieved to have the help for less than $850 each time to move 2 and 3 bedroom condos the distance of about 2-3 miles each. EASY! The reason I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN is that they charged me over $4,000 to move much less furniture (3 desks, and an entertainment cabinet) that was already nearly packed in a storage unit in LA to my home in Pasadena. Their excuse was that they had to "crate" the tops of the desks, and one of the doors on the entertainment cabinet, which were made of tempered glass. To my surprise, I eventually learned that "crate" meant "to wrap in a cardboard box and secure it with tape". Big whoop! That's what movers do! Their other excuse was mileage, but the distance from the LA location to Pasadena was less than 30 miles. If I were told that the job would cost me over $4000 to move approximately 4 items only 30 miles, I never would have agreed to the job! Instead, I was given a ball park figure and told after everything was unloaded that it was $4000+!--Pretty big "ball park". On top of that, they put the cabinet doors on backwards during reassembly at the new location. Since then, I've married and moved again. Our blended family now has 6 kids (all of whom will also be moving off to college soon), but trust and believe me when I say I WILL NEVER USE OR RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY AGAIN! If they would surprise a previously-satisfied, frequent customer with this kind of up charge without batting an eye AND decline my requests to be more fair with the UNDISCLOSED costs, I have no confidence that I or those I'd recommend would be treated fairly in the future either. SCAMMERS!!!!! I went with this company to move my 2 bedroom apartment. We moved 1 mile down the road. They asked me a million questions about what type of items I was moving (totally fine). When it came time for them to move about an hour and a half into the move they tell me they can't move a section of my sectional couch because it's too big to fit in the elevator ( they have to move it over the balcony). They stated they'd come back after and move it but just don't tell the company. Make a long story short they move all my things and I paid, when it came time to get my couch nobody was able to do it. I called the company and she (Lizette) was very rude and even hung up in my face. Her manager then called me and told me he'd take care of it and they'd handle it in the morning. My $2000 couch was sitting in the hallway at this point for anyone to grab. This morning he basically tells me there's nothing he can do and got rude and then hung up in my face as well. All I wanted was some type of reimbursement or my couch moved. I then went to the office that they have on yelp and it doesn't exist. after that I went to another location on their website and it doesn't exist as well. I then asked my husband to call and ask Lisette for the address and it was the exact address I was sitting in front of. The people who were there said they left there and I could see for myself. I went upstairs and it was deserted. She claimed they were doing construction and she was working from home. SCAM SCAM SCAM. I have since made a police report as well and am planning to sue... BEWARE! They replied to my post but still haven't acknowledge the fact that their worked left my couch sitting in the hallway! I never agreed for them to do that. I also never asked for all my money back i simply asked for 200 back to hire someone else who can actually move my couch. I'm sorry that a MOVING company is not capable of moving a couch ! I would NOT recommend them in any capacity. This was the worst experience I have ever had with an out of state move. This company contracts out. Dispatch and the driver were terrible at communication together and with me, absolutely awful, they could not find the correct address and were yelling at me for over 45 min at the gate, timing of the delivery was delayed by hours at my expense due to the previous stop. They asked multiple times if could pay by check or Zelle instead of using a credit card. They charge an extra fee for using a credit card that was not disclosed to me until the payment was due. The initial quote seemed appropriate for a move that was 350 miles. However, come to find out they upsold me at the time of the move stating the initial quote was way under for the amount of stuff I had ( master bedroom closet, living room furniture, dining room table with 6 chairs, and kitchen stuff, and a few cases of wine- not a whole house and no bedroom furniture). They could not figure out how to put the dining room table back together (the legs are wobbly). There is blue stain on my table from the dye on the blanket they wrapped it in. I would save yourself the headache and stress and hire a legitimate company with more integrity in their initial quotes and customer service. read more

One of the cheaper companies I researched but not the best service. My boss asked me to find a moving company so I asked Yelp for... help in deciding a company to use. Since My American Movers had a pretty good review on Yelp at the time of our move (6/1/09), I decided to call them and get some rates. They charged us $85/hour for 3 guys, a truck and a 9% fuel charge. This was much cheaper than Starving Student movers and, my favorite, Gentle Giant (I don't work for GG). The guys arrived on time and were ready to work. The first problem was only one of the 3 guys spoke English and he only knew about 50% of it. When you gave them instructions, you could see the question mark over there head getting bigger and bigger the more you spoke. I found myself resorting to sign language to explain what I was saying. They didn't move fast and would disappear. The apartment building's security guard noted they were the slowest movers he's seen. What I perceived to be a 4 hour move was an 8 hour move. The bottom line is: you get what you pay for. If you want fast guys you don't have to speak to like a pilgrim speaking to an indian, you're going to have to pay for it. My American Movers: a company that doesn't live up to it's name. FOLLOW UP (6/30/09) A company representative contacted me regarding the review I left above. She was concerned about my low Yelp review and wanted help make it better. Initially I was impressed she contacted me and wanted to make the company better. I gave her my suggestions (basically: hire guys that speak english). She started to imply I was racist because I stated the irony in a company called My American Movers and the employees don't speak english. I feel it is my social responsibility to write a review on this company. After having the most traumatic experience dealing with any business EVER i wanted to put it behind me but I wanted to warn other potential customers. I hired this company back in January 2010 after searching online and getting quotes from multiple companies for my move from LA to NYC. They hands down had the best rate and I even asked comparison questions to make sure I was comparing apples to apples. I was warned by other companies that the rate seemed low and that it was likely to change. When I asked MAM they assured me that it was a fixed cost. I had a 5 month delay in my move so I used their storage at their facility which was cheap and seemed simple enough. The nightmare began when I actually wanted my stuff delivered. On my invoice it said: "Delivery timeframe is anywhere from 7-14 business working days more or less. Drivers will call you a day in advance to notify you of the timeframe of delivery. Review the above charges, if you have any questions please email or contact the office so that we may complete our paper work. " I was moving in July 1 and called them on June 19th to schedule my move. I figured the latest my stuff would arrive latest on the 5th of July which was officially 14 business days. Boy was i WRONG! My stuff didn't arrive until the 22nd of July!! I want 3 weeks sleeping on the floor and without any of my personal belongings. I got the run around any time I called and emailed asking for an update. i was told that I was harassing them and that I wasn't allowed to call anymore. Some of the highlights from my 3 week delay include: being told my belongings were in an accident and that was why it was delayed. telling me i would have to pay an additional 350 for a shuttle (not in my invoice) getting hung up on my the owner, Ameera. I had to get attorneys involved in order to ensure my stuff was delivered. When it got here FINALLY a couple things had been damaged but because I had packed it myself I had no claim on insurance. I could go on and on in detail about how terrible this company was to deal with but I dont want to waste anymore time. Please just take my advice. DO NOT WORK WITH THEM! I never give companies bad reviews but this was the worst experience I've ever had. Do yourself a favor do tons of research on moving companies before you actually hire them: Better business bureau, yelp, Department of Transportation, just to name a few. I'm just happy to have my stuff again but that 3 weeks was the worst 3 weeks of my life!!! read more

UPDATE 09/09/07: I'm docking them 1 star because they didn't do such a great job packing. So far we're lucky we didn't have any serious breakage, but our leather chairs arrived dented and they lost all our pegs for our bookshelves. They were hardworkers, but these guys are only semi-professional. If you can relocate using a corporate account, do it... Using guys like My American Movers might be a good idea as far as them doing the heavy lifing and moving, but you probably want to pack your own stuff, because they won't do a good enough job for you. Sunday, September 2nd was moving day. Yes, at long last, my wife and I decided to move back to our house in the Bay Area. We both knew we eventually would move back though I suppose it came a bit faster than expected after my previous employer solicited me back. We were planning to move no matter what as we couldn't handle the heat in Woodland Hills. Santa Monica seemed very appealing and would have been a good midpoint between Hollywood, where my wife was working, and Westlake Village, where I was working. Quite frankly, I actually wouldn't have objected to another 6 months or 1 year down there as there was still plenty I'd have loved to see and experience in the City of Angels. My wife made some good friends... We'll most certainly come back and visit often. So anyway, we needed some movers. Whereas we got a pretty sweet relocation package when we came down, meaning that they took care of all matters related to the move, we got no such package moving back up, preferring to negotiate the salary and other benefits. Enter My American Movers. We had a guy do a walkthrough and an estimate sometime in early August and quoted us $4950 all costs included for 8000 lbs. We could have opted for the $3200 8000-lb. deal + packing expenses + weight adjustment, but I know you typically end up paying just as much, if not more, than when opting for the flat price. 4 guys showed up at 8 AM on a hot, muggy Sunday armed with plenty of boxes and a fairly sizable Budget truck. They worked pretty much straight for 10.5 hours, packing our sofa, glassware, dishes, plasma TV, moving everything into the truck. We bought them sandwiches for lunch and they really did a good job packing everything. They finally left at 18:45, leaving us barely enough time to race back to Burbank, return the rental car, and make our 8 PM flight back to Oakland. Minus one star because the head honcho apparently suggested rather dryly to my wife that he expected a tip. We were going to give one anyway, but you don't need to beg like a chihuahua begging for a doggy treat dude... Anyway, 4 stars it is... I'll come back to adjust the rating if all our stuff arrives broken when it gets to NoCal. Goodbye, LA!!! I'll miss your wonderful sushi joints, great Mexican Food, beautiful Mulholland drives, drinking beers on a perfect 70 degree Santa Monica afternoon, hanging by the pool all weekend, talking with strange comedians in Hollywood, and your incredible smog-induced kaleidoscopic sunsets. I won't, however, miss your suffocating San Fernando Valley heat, your insane traffic jams on the 101 any time of day or night, your crappy chinese food (at least in the 818), and I certainly won't miss your psychotic freeway drivers who try to hit you when you signal your desire to switch lanes. This is a complex review because there were some ups and downs. The customer service people were very friendly but I told the receptionist when I was making an appt. to move my piano that the "from" apartment had an elevator and the "to" house had several steps. More on this later. The two gentlemen that showed up were very friendly and they only showed up 10 minutes late. They proceeded to quickly move all the items that I had ready for them and that was relatively prompt. Things kinda went downhill from there. I hopped in my car to meet them at my house. About 20 minutes later they showed up and proceeded to back up all the way to the end of the cul-de-sac. Nice driving but it ate up a lot of time. Probably makes exiting much easier so I could see why they did it. No problem. They quickly moved all items (minus the piano) to the rooms that I pointed out. Then the piano comes.... The two guys were struggling to move the piano. I finally spoke up and asked what I can do to help. They told me that I should have hired four men to move my piano since it weighed about "1500 pounds"? Plus they were not aware of the steps coming up to the house (5 steps, but they were narrow). I was a little disappointed at the obvious communication failure between the receptionist and the movers. I called my fiancee and told him that the movers need help lugging this piano up. My fiancee and another co-worker came about 30 minutes later to help. In between that time the movers seemed pretty pissed as they were saying some choice words that I understand clearly (I speak a little bit of spanish). That I didn't appreciate, just because I'm white doesn't mean I can't comprehend Spanish. Once my fiancee, his co-worker and the two movers teamed up, the piano was finally moved to it's happy resting spot in the den. I felt really bad but it seems like the movers were not prepared for this type of job. Next time I will call an actual piano mover. Now for the cost. Well, time they arrived was 1:15 p.m., they left about 4:30 p.m. I WAS CHARGED FIVE HOURS. I was going to tip--but damn, I think they tipped themselves! Yes, the piano was a bitch to move (it seems) but they didn't call their people, I got people to help them! I feel slightly ripped off but at the same time I'm so relieved that the damn piano is moved I'm just going to concede and let this one go. I would recommend them for moving regular stuff if you need a cheap mover, but not pianos. Edit: three and a half stars. Rosie from My American Movers called to discuss my yelp.com review. I'm pretty impressed that she actually reads the reviews--some companies don't care. The 5 hour charge is now understandable--it's owing to the double drive time so considering the time when the movers starts and stopped, it makes since. +1 star there for Rosie's concern and clarification of the charge. Now for the communication break down situation. Rosie has on file that only the elevator was mentions, not the stairs. I have no proof on who screwed up: me or Rosie. I could have sworn I did mention them but I don't know. Even still, the movers moved the furniture first, the piano was last. Why didn't the movers say something when they were moving the furniture? It's just a thought but perhaps they were under the impression that the piano was a bearable weight. Not sure. To clarify the movers did offer to call their guys to help. Since my fiancee is close by I did opt to call him to keep the cost down. Anyhow I still feel pretty bad for the movers that they went through this--they had another job after mine so I know this was a major inconvience. Unfortunately bad experiences happen but all and all I would still recommend the company for moving. read more

I believe I forgot to update a warning that this company outsources their work to other movers that are totally shady. We paid cash (because they charge a fee for cc) and the movers we paid pocketed the cash and said we never paid. After our terrible experience (most of which was not mentioned in this review) not only did they not try to make things right but they actually accused us of not paying what we owe! Again I find it amazing that every single person that wrote a review remembered and included the moving crews names. That isn't fishy at all! Not recommended!!! Without going into a ton of detail I would highly recommend using another more legitimate company for your move. If you do happen to use these movers make sure you get all your receipts or else they will accuse you of not paying and try to collect twice. Beware that they contract out your business to other people who are extremely unreliable and unprofessional. These people were about to give us other people's belongings that they forgot to drop off with the move before ours! Also, after you write a review that they don't like they call and harass you and tell you they want to resolve the issue but take months to try and resolve it and ultimately don't! Don't waste your time even trying. Extremely unprofessional! It seems very suspicious to me that every single good review about this company includes the names of all the movers. This would be believable if a few reviews were like this but every single one? I don't think so. People had to have been asked to place fake reviews or at least coached what to say. I definitely wouldn't use these movers again. There was an issue with the weight of the truck and they had to remove a bunch of our stuff to be delivered at a later date. when the rest of it finally was delivered they outsourced the job to another company. When this other companys movers arrived they said they were only going to unload everything in the garage. Not what we thought we were paying for. This was the worst move ever done. I have used this company for the last two moves and they were great. Last year I moved a two bedroom apt from LA downtown on the 7th floor to Long Beach on the 2nd floor 26 miles away. Cost was reasonable at $500 for 3 guys for 5 hours including driving time. Now I move the same furniture from Long Beach to a house with no stairs 6 miles away and it cost me $900. How does that happen. It was a complete rip off. They were two hours late getting to my place and then took their sweet time to run up the clock. I called to complain and all they say is the time is reasonable and charged my card anyway. Don't use this mover. They are motivated by money and could care less about customer service and taking care of the customer. read more

As I've worked with movers in my professional life, this company was exceptional in every step of the process. Rebecca was wonderful on the phone to work with, patient in answering all my questions (and I had a lot). They put everything in writing. They confirmed my appointment that Friday for my Sunday move AND the guys came right on the time...8 am sharp. They were hard working, easy to deal with AND fast. All at a great price of $60 per hour for two guys and 5% fuel surcharge. I highly recommend them for anyone who needs to make a no hassle, well priced move. read more

I've used this company 5 times now and am still a fan. The customer service is really great and they are beyond reasonable with pricing. Also, with the exception of an Ikea dresser (which should NEVER be moved in the first place), the fact that everything is still in tact after that many moves is rather impressive! *I have to take one star off, and I think I'm still being generous, related to their out-of-state moving. The estimate (in their defense, it was over the phone, not in-person) was WAY off and the scheduling for the delivery was not planned well by the drivers. This is our second time using My American Movers, Chris, Carlos Bargas, Martin, and Carlos E, I cannot tell you how amazing you guys were. It was a big move, 11 hours!! And 97 degrees. I knew it would be at least 8 hours but our stairs and different levels made it challenging. These guys did everything we asked, they were professional, polite, and considerate of our things. Gili logistically arranged our move (both times) and she is sweet as can be, on top of it. The price is very reasonable, it was at the higher end of our moving budget but we would not have spent it any where else. Thank you for spending the day with us and all of your hard work. I had a monster of a job - it took a four man team (Ceasar, Gonzolo, Martin, and Ever) a whole day to pack me up in El Segundo and move to Burbank, and they took it on like it was nothing. They even moved old appliances out, moved new stuff in, and hooked it up, without a whimper. They might cost a bit more (just a bit), but their reliability is worth it. read more

They only get one star because zero stars is not an option. Only good thing about this company is they were on time. But moving the tool long and didn't even finish setting anything up they didn't set up fridge they didn't even take the packing of the tv and after did it I found out why they lost the foot stand that came with it. And the other tv they broke. So i have tried to contact them and no one answer it goes to voicemail and I have left 5 messages with no response I have emailed them with no response. The driver and two workers showed up in the morning, and after he loaded the whole truck, he informed that he forgot the wardrobe boxes first except for one, and then he blamed on the his boss after a while, to make a long story short, he had to wrap my clothes in blankets and plastic wrap which resulted in an extra hour and 1/2 of added to my 4 hour minimum time, and when he went to deliver the load, he took 45 minutes to drive the 5 miles, when they arrived in the new location, they unloaded everything, but we noticed that they were taking longer than usual, we went out to the truck to look, and there he is Mr. driver eating his lunch on my time, instead of helping and getting the job done, when he saw us watching, he picked up the pace, and finished; my clothes which were wrapped in plastic were left on the floor of the new place, and I had to unwrap and hang everything, it took so much time, and which caused me back injury, that I'm still suffering from, due to the repetitious movement of bending down to the floor, carrying the clothes a bunch a at time and hanging in the correct closet, if I had the wardrobe boxes this would have been done in 10 minutes. This company deceived me, charged more than I was supposed to pay by having a driver/worker who is irresponsible, and dishonorable, I will not use their services again, and will not recommend to anyone. read more

I just used My American this past weekend for a move from Miracle Mile to Sherman Oaks. They are/were having a "sale" of sorts, so it was 55/hr for 2 guys minimum of 3 hours. Both Claudia and Bertha - the two women I spoke with on the phone - were very nice and friendly and helpful. They called me Friday before the move to confirm. They showed up right on time on Sunday at 8 and the two guys were very nice. They moved efficiently and explained all of the charges and extras (of which there weren't that much). Their fuel surcharge is now 9% and of course the state law mandated double drive time. So the total for my 1-bedroom was just over $300, they charged for 5 hours (which starts from the moment they arrive, even though they didn't start moving stuff for about 20-30min) plus the other stuff. I felt the charges for the packing materials they used were extremely fair - they used a ton of tape but the padding for all the furniture was free, and the only thing they broke was a cheap $10 IKEA lamp. All in all, a surprisingly painless experience and I'd highly recommend these guys to anyone and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. read more

One of their crews hit our company truck on 9/18/21. The driver refused to hand over his insurance information and tried to bribe the crew with $80.00. After contacting the company via email and phone. I have had no response. Police report has already been filed. read more

I have now received over two dozen calls from this 800 service despite numerous times letting them know I no longer require service. Each call is more aggressive and harassing. I would strongly advise against using this service or any of their partners as their point of contact staff is extremely unprofessional. read more

I found MAM through Thumbtack - they were only in the middle of the pack by pricing, but they were the only ones who were upfront in the TOTAL I can expect to pay, based on the time estimates, and they listed upfront their license number. That's a high level of professionalism. Equally professionally, they arrived right when they said their would, in their own branded truck, wearing company uniforms. Everything was explaining clearly and competently. I knew exactly what to expect. David and Santiago got to the work right away, and I must say they worked their asses off, hauling pieces of furniture and a mattress over half a block, through a courtyard, and up ta flight of stairs. By the end, they were soaked in sweat! In short, I'm very satisfied with MAM, an would gladly recommend them to anyone looking for competent, professional movers. read more

I ended up not using this service, so I cannot tell you how the moving services are, but I couldn't go with them after the incessant communications after I simply asked for a quote. I communicated with the woman that I was just looking for a quote and that I had some other companies coming out to give estimates and that shortly after that time frame (which I gave her the dates) that we would be making our decision. Regardless she called nearly every single day and sent me the same exact quote 5 more times. I appreciate good follow up, but I felt like I was being pestered and pressured. My moving process is just beginning, so look forward to a review after the process as well ;o) So far I'm impressed with the service I've received from this company. Tom has been helping me with all of my questions and providing me with a really great estimate for moving my extremely small apartment. I don't have much to move, so I wasn't expecting to pay a large amount like other companies were quoting for me. Everything about my move was clearly explained to me so I'm not expecting any surprises on the day they show up to pick up my stuff. I have been told, by more than one company, that estimates can increase once the move takes place due to the customer adding on extra items that were not included in the original quote. I'll be making sure I don't add anything and I will be sorting through my belongings to keep my packed boxes to a minimum. I paid in cash even though I was told that my moving cost would not equal that of 4 hours if it took half the amount of time. It took them 2 hours. They tried to charge me extra for packing materials that they demanded I use even though I did not ask for it. They also hassled me for a tip.  We gathered all of our money after signing all of their paperwork. They ended up with a $15 tip that they tried to hide in their folder as they kept recounting our money. They hassled us again because it wasn't a $20.  I feel that I should be paying half of $356 for a 2 hour move. I'll follow up with a Yelp review reflecting my dissatisfaction. This was extremely pricey for moving 1 room in 2 hours. I could not leave this on the remark section of the paperwork as the movers were standing over me, demanding a larger tip.  My boyfriend and I were both really upset over how much money we had to dish out as they kept asking for more. Huge rip off. Highly regret using this service. read more

I've moved a few times, but this time was moving far away and putting my furniture in storage. American Movers made the stress of moving a lot easier. Gigi was very professional and warm in her communication to start, and she worked to accommodate my schedule. Movers showed up on time and were very efficient and careful with my belongings. First off I want to say that Gili, the sales lady is responsive and her follow through is good. Initially she tried to give me 3-men to move a 560 sf 1br apartment. I finally got her to give me 2-men. The men arrived on time and they worked fairly quickly, minus the 5 minute bathroom breaks and the slower pace after an hour. (Mind you I got them a space on the street directly below my place and paid for their street meters (2) so they wouldn't get a ticket. I was charged a 'double drive time', which they stated was a law. So a 1 1/2 hour trip for them to drive my stuff I was charged for 3 hours of work, at $85 an hour. Then I was charged a 5% credit card fee (which I was not informed about up front). The driver then sat and did not unload my furniture at the drop off point, because he demanded a cash payment, due to him estimating that he was going to go over the 4 hours that i pre-charged on my credit card. The double drive time and the sitting caused him to go over. He then stated that it would be 1 1/2 hours to unload a half full truck, where he only had to walk 15 feet to the storage space (only took 45 minutes). Gili tried multiple times to convince me that I was imagining things and that I was wrong in my observations about the time that it took to load, drive, and unload my things. In a nutshell, really nice and polite movers, but the times and charges just didn't add up. Make sure you have your numbers added up and all fees disclosed at the beginning. J read more

The movers did ok job packing. But while delivering they missed a bag and bunch of small items. I have tried following up for last 3 weeks but got no response from them. Also they overcharge you giving you bullshit reasons. The missing bag had wife's birthday dress and explained them the same but no response at all. They scratched lot of my furniture as well. Awesome service. I used them twice late last year, 2 different teams of movers & both were total pros. They moved stuff from my storage unit as well as from my apartment to my new home.
