I pay extra money to have a space in the main building. I have had storage in that building for over 10 years. In the last three years, the "A" building has started flooding. Last year I lost personal items, and furniture has been damaged. Not enough to claim insurance, but enough to ruin the legs of expensive furniture items. Paperwork that is irreplaceable was also ruined. And, I was one of the lucky ones, the unit next to mine was almost completely flooded. This year I asked whether the flooding issue had been addressed, since winter is coming, and I was assured that it was taken care of. Today I got a call, my unit is flooded AGAIN. They do not give a storage discount for the inconvenience, and last year they had no idea where the water was coming from. So, the office staff passed on the info that the issue had been addressed, and obviously the ownership has not done anything. The office staff is always polite and helpful, but the flooding issue is simply bad business, and the management ignores it. read more

This I plan to be my last month, after years of using this place, charge me insurance fee, when they know I had insurance from prior years, then late fee, which willing to pay and then pre lien fee while waiting for them to call me back...beven though no response , just give me a bill . We've had a storage unit here going on about 4 or 5 years. We rent a 6x6 inside unit to store holiday decor and furniture that just doesn't fit into our small apartment when we combined lives together. The sign-up process was easy and I have not had any issues with customer service - everyone I have encountered has been polite. We generally don't see anyone else when we go in which is nice, particularly now with Covid, but when we have they are wearing masks. The units can get a little dusty, but that's to be expected when you live in the valley and have wind events often. You'll see rodent traps around - I don't mind that because it means they're trying to control the issue so our items will be in good shape. The neighborhood isn't bad, I live down the street and it's worse where I live. It's beside the hospital and a cemetery, and you have to enter your security code to enter the grounds and turn the alarm off on your unit. The only issue I have is how close to the gate you need to get to be able to enter the code when you're leaving - If my car were longer I feel like I'd have to touch the gate to be able to enter the code. read more

Calling in, I was exceptionally confused. I simply wanted to know if a unit was available because I was in an emergency situation to move a lot of stuff in a small amount of time. Nury (sp?) was not specific enough as to whether a 12x18 unit (the biggest) was available today or if not available today, when it WOULD be available. But she was very sure to get as much information down about me as possible. If this is what intake and getting the place would be like, I could only imagine the puzzlement I would have being a tenant. Lost a sale. read more

Well...let's begin my UPDATED review. Let's get down to the nuts and bolts...The place is decent but not spectacular. Not the worst neighborhood but not the greatest. There aren't ANY trash cans available inside. The ease of getting the unit is ok. There's a few forms to fill out, as usual. One form is showing the time you have available access to your unit. They make sure you know when this! Then we move on to the customer service. I think this is the most crucial part of any business. If you are lacking in this I will point this out in a heartbeat. I arrive around 4:40pm in on a Sunday afternoon. I have some of my work equipment with me and I'm trying to drop it off. I know they close at 5pm. I know it's only gonna take 10 minutes to unload it into my storage unit. I am sure I'm the ONLY person here and I see this. I unload all my equipment onto my dolly and about to head towards my unit. The employee named Ceaser does this fast approach to me with his golf cart. I know why he's here. It's closing time...but cmon! I know this! He rudely let's me know they're closing. My reply is "thanks! I know". WTF...I pay money to rent a unit from here only to have some employee talk rudely to me? I think not. I want everyone to know how I was treated at Mission Hills self storage. I have been renting off and on from Mission Hills storage since 2000, a few days I went to my storage with a friend sitting in my car trying remember my drivers license # to punch in the code I saw one of the worker and ask her to smile, the next day the General manger call me saying that I was swearing at her, and all I ask is that she smile, so I am paying 270 a month for a storage, the worker are telling lies on customer, I ask that they remove her for there they say no, so I moved out!. I rented for 16 years with this storage, but more customer will have problem with them because there customer service SUCK! read more

This review is long over due, but MHSS is well deserving of the 5 star rating. I went on a long storage hunt when I was first looking for a storage, and when I came across MHSS I decided my hunt was over. At first I liked the cleanliness and security of the facility. The prices were reasonable and I loved that the storage units offered an inside light so I am able to work after the sun goes down. The manager Will was very hospitable and professional. As the months passed by the staff at MHSS have been highly helpful and pleasurable. Roger, Caitlin, Rozie, and Liz have all been pleasant and kind. The facility remains very clean on a daily basis. If ever I have a question, the entire staff is willing to answer or find the answer if they don't have it off hand.
