    Karaoke night
    Aja R.

Friday nights are usually best to come here because they have a DJ and it gets pretty crowded. Saturdays, I'm sure, are the same as Friday nights but no DJ. Sundays are karaoke nights. Super fun and funny lol. I have good times at karaoke night. The crowd is more 30s and up. A lot of older people come in as well. The bartenders are cool. They also sell some good ass pizza for a saloon lol. Can't beat a personal pizza on a drunk night for $7.

Owner / bartender dropping drinks on customer... Not cool don't waste your time

Um the bartender / owner very slow talks to much to others wait time for a drink too long ..... Not cool his friends and free shots to them is more important then paying customer Don't go here!!

Girls gone wild on a Wednesday!!!! Check out Karo-key Tuesday's and not so low key Friday nights with DJ TEASE!

I have left wonderful reviews in the past for this place but I have to share my experience…read morerecently. My boyfriend and I have been to Standard Pub several times during the day, and every visit has been fantastic. We've enjoyed the food, drinks, and even had the pleasure of speaking with the owner on multiple occasions. The service was always welcoming, and the food was consistently phenomenal. Because of those great experiences, we decided to bring some friends on a Saturday night. We arrived around 7:30 PM, and the atmosphere looked promising. There appeared to be a DJ setting up, and the crowd seemed excited for a night of music, food, and drinks. Unfortunately, our experience that evening was completely different from what we had come to expect. We ordered food and drinks, and while our server wasn't outright rude, he seemed uninterested in providing the level of service we had previously received. As the night went on, things became increasingly odd. Shortly after ordering another round of drinks, while our drinks were still full and we had just received them, the server approached our table and asked if we were finished. My boyfriend jokingly responded, "No, let me talk to your manager," and laughed, assuming the server was joking as well. The server responded, "Yeah, it's my brother," but with an attitude that left everyone at our table looking at each other wondering what had just happened. He then informed us that we needed to put a credit card on file. At that point, we had already been there for over an hour, and it seemed strange that this requirement was only being brought up then. We also noticed that no other tables around us were being asked for a card. The most disappointing part came when we received the bill. There was an additional $60 service charge added--$35 on my friends' bill and $25 on ours. Confused, we asked for an explanation. The explanations we received kept changing. First, we were told it was because my boyfriend was sitting with another group, which was completely false. Then we were told it was because the bill exceeded $100. After that, we were told it was because there were more than six people in our party, despite there only being four of us. The inconsistent explanations were frustrating and made it feel as though the staff were simply making up reasons to justify the charge. Our issue wasn't necessarily with a service fee itself--it was the lack of disclosure and the conflicting stories we were given when we asked about it. To make matters worse, the receipt also included a separate line for an additional tip. After discussing it with them and explaining that additional charges should be clearly communicated to customers, the service charge was ultimately removed. This review is not a reflection of the food, which remains excellent, nor of our previous experiences at Standard Pub. It is solely based on the service and handling of the situation during our Saturday night visit. We left feeling disappointed and confused, especially because this establishment had earned our trust through many positive visits in the past. I sincerely hope this was an isolated incident and that management addresses these issues so other customers don't have a similar experience

The restaurant was busy and the bar was full. I noticed only one server/bartender working. And she was doing amazing. Any refills, sauces, forks etc- she brought them out without us having to ask. She was really helpful with the menu, it was our first time. The food was great and came out quickly. I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting good BBQ, and great service.

This worked fine for us. We had our menus and drinks in a reasonable time, and had a relaxing time throughout. We both had the pulled pork sandwich along with the ice tea. I also had the cup of chili - nicely spiced). I enjoyed my sandwich (skipping the bun, as I am trying to limit carbs). My friend, whom I realized often fusses about the meals we share, was more critical. His comments were "Wrong bun, hamburger bun shoulda been an onion bun" and "How long does it take to make a sandwich?" (The wait time was totally reasonable to me.) He didn't like the potato salad (but ate it all with little time spared). He liked the meat in the sandwich, giving it a 5 out of 5. He liked the service less (I felt it was on point and just fine.) The twisted pig is a good place to eat, if it is noisy inside (as it often is) check out the patio.

Staff was super friendly, went out of their way to make sure the tables were tidy, and refilled drinks really quick. The restaurant is smaller than you expect it to be, but it is cozy, friendly, and not overly loud. We only had a 10 minute wait when we arrived and they were packed. Our waiter Kyle was on point, introduced himself and dropped the special of the day with gusto. If I hadn't already had a ton of carbs for the day I would have gone with it. Ended up ordering the scallops, and fried zucchini appetizers. Scallops are served almost like a soup. The sauce in the bowl was to die for. I'm thinking white wine, and lemon were the major components. It was phenomenal. Fried zucchini was super tasty and is coming home with us. I'd swear it was enough to feed 4 people. For mains, we ordered pot roast and fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. Wife loved the pasta and chicken. Surprisingly enough she ate it all, none to go which is super rare for her. Pot roast was fantastic. Mashed potatoes were on point, the mixed vegetables were amazing. When you get broccoli and carrots on the same plate and neither have a mushy texture it makes me happy Will definitely be back again in the future.

You can hear the music they are playing. Our server, Kyle, came out to let us know the special. He put our appetizers in before even thinking about our food. They were spaced out just right. He was also Johnny on the spot with refills and kept checking on us. Ok now onto the food. It was delicious! Hubby had scallops as an appetizer and pot roast for his main dish. I had fried zucchini and then fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. I like my chicken on the side so I only add what I want. This place is just down from the freeway exit and is only open for lunch & dinner. If you are passing through Modesto, get off and come eat some good food. It is totally worth it!

Donoby's - A Soft Spot in the Night…read more I walked into Donoby's tonight while waiting for the crowd across the street at Toriis to thin out, and honestly... I'm glad I did. This bar has an underrated, easygoing pulse that a lot of places try for but can't quite land. No shouting, no chaos, just gentle conversation, light laughter, and that familiar hum of people enjoying being out without needing to prove anything. The bartender, Amy, we actually sang "Broken" by Seether & Amy Lee together at karaoke here a couple weeks ago, pours with care. You can feel when someone takes pride in the small things, a clean pour, a quick smile, a read on the room. She has that. The crowd here tonight is relaxed. Mixed ages, no pressure, no edge. Just people unwinding from the week. It is a place where you can sit with a beer, breathe for a minute, and not feel like the world is tugging at you. Plenty of seating, the lighting is warm, the décor is classic without being stale, pool tables in good shape, and a vibe that makes you want to stay for just one more....because it is comfortable. That is rare. Donoby's isn't loud about who it is. It doesn't need to be. It just is....and that's what keeps a place alive. I'll be back.

I don't know how the owner has employed the Asian bartender for so long I am almost certain her name is Amy she usually works nights on the weekends I believe. She's so rude and disrespectful she almost ignores you always get an attitude makes the bouncer serve us sometimes it's a shame because we love going there and we spend money and tip well. We refused to go in any longer if she was working, she brings the whole vibe of the bar down, so we just go elsewhere. We have talk to others that go there they all say the same thing so were not crazy. I just hope she finds some customer service skills or the owner finally gets a clue of the vibe she's putting off in the bar.
