Earl is the man! Truly a master of his craft. I was referred to him after I tried to have a new key made at Autozone but they weren't able to get it to work for some reason. The remote controls (lock/unlock) were working but the new key wasn't starting the engine. They gave me Earl's business card and I messaged him around 11:30am. At 12pm he called me to set up an appointment and I had a brand new key by 1pm! He has a super impressive set-up in his work van where he has a bunch of state of the art technology to help him make any type of key. I appreciate that he took the time to explain the whole process to me as he was making it. All the buttons worked and the engine was started on the first try. My car is a 2012 Equinox and I paid $160 for the new key which I think is very fair considering the dealership quoted me $350. Prices probably vary by type of car though. Earl is a good man with poor business sense. I wanted to leave him a 1 star but I let a few days pass and I'm over it. I left him a 3 star cause I'm a nice enough guy to not ruin his beloved Yelp ratings. Here's my story. I lost my keys to my Nissan Maxima and I needed a replacement done right away. I called him to come over. He came over the very next day at the agreed upon time, and he was on time. He has his key machine in the back of his SUV and gets to work right away. He needed to use my spare key to make his replacement key work. It happens that my "spare" key was one I had done at the 7/11- KEY ME - kiosks that they have. This KEY ME key was mailed to me over a year ago and even though the key was branded with the KEY ME logo, it worked well. Long story short, he was able to program a key for me, that had the NISSAN logo on it and he offered me an alarm remote also for an added fee. When it was all done, he told me that the key worked. I paid him and he left for home. Later that night, I went to my car with my KEY ME key to move the car, and realized that the key wasn't working. I call Earl and he tells me that for some reason, while using that key to program the new key, the KEY ME key unprogrammed itself. He was aware that the KEY ME was no longer functional. This is where things took a turn... I asked Earl to come back the next day and attempt to program my KEY ME, since it was working when I gave it to him. he was unable to program the KEY ME key and tells me that its not his fault that he is unaware of how to program KEY ME keys. I told him, that now, because of his negligence, I am back to square one - WITH 1 WORKING KEY. He offers to make me a key. I was with the impression that he was going to make things alright since he was the one to ruin my KEY ME key. When he was done, he asked for $120 for the 2nd key he had programmed for me. Obviously, this man did not understand that he caused this dilemma, and that by him ruining my KEY ME key, he was thus responsible for providing me working replacement key to that. After trying to explain to him his responsibility as a business man to replace the key he broke, I was running late to a dinner I had with friends. I ended up paying him $120 to replace the key that HE ruined. It's only $120 but the annoying part was that I was robbed. I never wanted him to sell me two keys, I wanted him to give me one more key so I can have a main key and my KEY ME key as a spare. HE RUINED MY SPARE KEY AND HE CHARGED ME MONEY TO HAVE HIM REPLACE THE KEY HE RUINED. I told him, I would write him a yelp review, since he kept reminding me that his yelp reviews are outstanding. Im sure, you will have a good experience with him -- just DONT give him a KEY ME brand key to work with when programming you a new key. read more

Needing a spare car key and remote I pondered what to do. The dealer wanted $330 for a key and programming, which seemed way to expensive, so I shopped around. As I found, keys for German cars like BMW and VW are just difficult and a lot of locksmiths don't carry them as the programming is a problem and if you mess it up, the vehicle is not moving unless you tow it to the dealer for a programming fix. Earl was able to obtain the correct key and remote FOB and cut me a new key for a reasonable price. Earl was prompt and polite and got the job done. My future stop is the dealer who will program it. Better to get your spare key before you lose your first key.
