They both wanted to replace my metal duct work with collapsable plastic duct work that rodents and neighborhood animals could damage. Both estimates were $20,000+ for a 1400 square foot home. This was not an option so I began asking friends if they knew of an HVAC contractor. I was referred to KKAT Mechanical from a friend who recently had work done and was very happy with the results. I spoke with Heidi on the phone and scheduled an appointment. Heidi provided excellent customer service and emailed me to confirm what we had discussed over the phone. Bob showed up at my house and was friendly and professional. He crawled under my house and evaluated my heater and duct work. He quoted me for the heater replacement, sealing and insulating my existing duct work as well as installing a new air conditioner. The estimate was thorough and the price was far below the other two quotes I received. He worked with us to replace only what was needed, not upsell us on unnecessary equipment. They restored some power and had to return the next day due to getting late. Things weren't looking very good and were going to snowball into a bigger nightmare with power being out for a week! The next day Darrell saved the day and found the break in the line which someone had buried 6" in the dirt with no protective covering after they had cut threw it and taped it together! To top it all off they troubleshoot and fixed it all in the pouring rain and mud!
