Great job and contact start to finish. Scott came and quoted a new panel to replace my fire hazard of a Zinsco and while there answered all my questions and walked me through the process. After I accepted and paid a deposit he kept me informed on timeline and install dates. This job required a permit and PG&E shut off so not just him putting it on the calendar. On the day of install Nathan showed up a little early, wearing his mask. I showed him around and he got started. We interacted throughout the day and he was always very pleasant and helpful. Also explaining the process and how things were setup so that future additions would be easy to implement and cost less. When finished he explained how and why the breakers were installed how they were. I like to know all this stuff so when an expert is willing to share their knowledge I am all ears. While he was doing the panel I was doing some minor stuff inside and he gave me some tips on cleaner ways to cut through sheet rock that saved me a lot of cleanup. I needed to use Spyrka Electric again, twice in July. This time Daren came to do the work. Another great guy. Friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. He installed a ceiling fan, light and power source in my spare bedroom. The following week he came back because I thought I had no power to the dishwasher. Turns out it was the dishwasher. I received several responses to my request for an electrician. Spryka just happened to call at the right moment and I went with the quote of what the gentleman told me on the phone. $147 to come out and check out the issue and more for however long it takes to correct the issue. Turns out we had an intermittant issue with a sensitive connection. Darrin used an existing and available breaker to replace the one with the issue. He made sure everything was nice and tight. He explained everything completely and made sure we understood what he did and why he did it. Darrin was so quick and efficient and very conscientious about his shoes in the house (not wearing them). Absolutely above and beyond service and asked nothing in return. I will definitely be calling him next time I have an electrical issue. Scott helped me diagnose a tripped breaker for my hot tub correctly determining that it was the hot tub causing the issue, and not the sub-panel or junction box. This local firm as been great--and saved me a bundle. Because they are local I get on their schedule within days. Once they came out to fix a circuit breaker that kept flipping. In 30 minutes they had found the problem and fixed it. Recently they came out to consult on the installation of two motion-detector wi-fi security cameras. Super quick response when a breaker on my ancient wheezing breaker panel died and left me with no water because it was the one that powered my well and water pressure pumps. I left a message on their phone, and Scott came over personally about an hour later and replaced the breaker, and now I can take a shower, hurray. Make sure to ask any worker sent out by an electrical contractor to see their state issued electrician certification. A residential electrical certification is the minimal a general electricians card would suffice as well. State issued trainee card holding individuals are not supposed to work alone as electricians they must have 1 state certified residential electrician directly supervising them in person. Electrical contractors will try and cheat. Hiring cheap labor knowing their customers won't know the difference or to ask to see a certification it must be issued by the state and a trainee card will not fulfill this ratio. I have seen this company have uncertified guys do work. I find this very scary especially being that work done by uncertified workers may have a higher likely hood for electrical fire hazard. read more
