They all sounded interested until I sent the specs detailing what was involved and then they disappeared. I continued my search and, based on reviews and on testimonials on Nextdoor, I called Pro City Electric and got owner Sean Homem. He understood immediately what was involved in the project. He explained that cut-off systems are used for safety purposes in some commercial settings, where he had installed them. I wanted an extensive residential system covering many circuits to lower my EMF exposure. Within a few days, Shawn installed the system and it was fascinating to watch the process. At one point, he had so many electrical lines in hand, it resembled a stylist about to plait a river of braids in a client's hair. I've found that one sign of a good tradesperson is their ability to come up with creative and non-destructive solutions to problems on the job. I became concerned when Shawn uncovered an electrical cord in the wall that would obstruct the installation of the control box. There was no slack for tying It off to the side. I had to make a brief phone call and when I came back I saw that Shawn had created a narrow channel in the wood paneling and taped the cord into it. When all was done, Shawn then relocated a light switch in my garage while I tried out my new remote-controlled cut-off system. It works beautifully and at a fair price. To further lower my EMF exposure, I next hired Shawn to install grounding rod electrodes to properly ground my existing electrical panel, which had not been properly grounded to code. This correction significantly lowered the total EFM levels, which I began to feel immediately in symptom reduction. I'm pleased to finally have an experienced and intelligent electrician to rely on.

That price felt reasonable, so I asked what exactly it included. The policy was explained to me along the lines of: "We can usually cover the cost of parts within this price, but occasionally there are outliers where additional costs may be necessary depending on the repair." Honestly, I found that even more reasonable. We live in a world where tech manufacturers care less and less about repairability and seem to believe you're better off just buying a new device instead of fixing the one you have. Asus itself charges a minimum diagnostic fee of $99, and that doesn't even include shipping. At that point, I can only imagine what the communication and turnaround time would look like. After a few days of diagnostics, it was explained to me that I would need a new keyboard. Most of the keys simply needed a little work to get functioning again, but unfortunately my "C" key was completely done for, which was obviously out of their control. A replacement keyboard was ordered from a relatively local supplier, but it arrived defective, so we had to pivot to another option from China. What really impressed me was that they returned my laptop to me while we waited for the new keyboard to arrive. That wasn't even something I had considered as a possibility. Even though the repair wasn't complete yet, I greatly appreciated being able to use my laptop in the meantime. That is absolutely not something you'd get from the manufacturer. The estimated arrival time for the replacement keyboard was about a month, but it actually showed up in only about two and a half weeks. I was psyched. I dropped my laptop off in the morning right when they opened, and it was ready for pickup by the end of the same day. Best of all, I was told there would be no additional charges beyond the original quote. Both of the gentlemen behind the counter were thoughtful, considerate, and professional throughout the entire process. The pricing was highly reasonable, the communication was excellent, and I got my laptop back in perfect shape in a timely manner. Highly, highly recommend.

Lady B Electric's ace crew just finished a project for us that has transformed the ambience of our home. The project began with adding can-lights in the ceiling of our living and dining rooms. They give a beautiful, warm light (which can be dimmed) and nicely highlight the artwork on our walls. Today, Jimmie and Jacob returned to add the finishing touch: install an electrical outlet in our living room floor -- sounds like a small thing, but it entailed a lot of patience and skill. Jacob had to crawl a long distance under the house while Jimmie guided him to the proper spot from above. They drilled through the subfloor and laminate overlay, cut the opening for the outlet, did the wiring, and installed the floor box. We no longer have lamp cords and extension cords snaking every which way in search of a place to plug into a wall outlet. We have always found the people Lady B owner Britt Scott employs a pleasure to have around, and Jimmie and Jacob are no exception: considerate, congenial, and very conscientious about the work they do. I was referred to Lady B Electric by a golf buddy and being 'old school', I was skeptical about having a female electrician. I am no slouch when it comes to maintaining my home but I am not confident with anything beyond the basic electrical work. I am extremely happy that I listened to my friend. I plugged in my blowdryer and wammo! Half my house is dark. So, I go to flip the breaker and, uh-oh... it's toast! No way would it switch on. I had a major electrical emergency at a rental I own in Sebastopol, about a week ago. Basically, a bad brand of circuit breakers,(Zinsco) had damaged the main panel, and it had to be replaced quickly, so the tenants would have electricity. Britt got on it really fast, completed it in a day, including coordinating with PG&E, and permits and inspections. Also, and this is important- I was in a jamb, and had no time to get competing bids. Bob and Frank just left my home after installing a new breaker, running 50+ feet of cable in my attic (and it's in the high 90's today!), installing my Emporia charger and assisting me with connecting the app associated with its' management. And from the very first conversation with Chris the owner, I have had nothing but great communication and follow-up over my questions. My initial site visit with Bob was friendly and informative, assuring me that this shop knows what they're about. I found there estimate to be fair and in the range of what I expected to pay, given all the unfortunate rising costs of copper wire and simply the cost of doing business. Amp Champ Electric sent me a message and I called them. John was very responsive and came same day! In fact from what I described to him over the phone (under kitchen sink electric plug doesn't work after it got wet) he already diagnosed the problem. When he came out, he was correct! The GFCI was shut off and all he had to do was go to the control panel and reset everything. He showed us the the kitchen reset have now moved over to the solar control panels versus the old house control panels. It was a quick visit but he got the job done! Thank you! PS: I have done various research and his price is fair. Lady B Electric wanted to do an emergency visit and that was just $200 to come out. Michael Leasure also reached out and spoke with their office manager who would pass my info to Mike. I never heard back from them. APG Electric was going out of town and couldn't book me til 2 weeks later. Seems like electricians in the area are all booked and busy or flaky and dont respond. Try Amp Champ, he is a man of his words.
