They gave us a sliding scale depending on labor for specific jobs. Our first job was a lesser, more simple, job-we had at few sockets replaced one of which was a very loose socket that we were concerned about arcing. The second job was more extensive as there were several "needs" in one day. When we needed to upgrade our panel recently to 200 amps I thought of Earthstar but I figured by now with inflation and Daniel's many years of experience, and working from Sonoma, they would be too expensive. Someone who was working on our house (when I started looking for electricians) knew of Earthstar and said their electricians were great and they also had this super nice and helpful front office guy, John, who made working with them a pleasure. So, now add that overhead to the pricing...I was sure they'd be too expensive for us (although probably worth it). But Earthstar had the lowest price of the highly-rated Yelp electricians we got bids from! We ended up with the rarest contractor experience: an "A" in professionalism, quality, and value. John was indeed such a pleasure to work with as was Taylor, who did the wiring. Taylor also has carpentry experience and not only did a fast and expert job on the panel, but also did a great job replacing the siding around the panel where the house angles out. I really appreciate that he paid attention to the things that concerned me and went above and beyond in those areas. I'm trying to think of another project so we can use them again.

Preface: This rating schema needs ten stars. ;^)…read more I contracted Daniel to assist me in ensuring a very dated, derelict, freewheeling small wind turbine in Berkeley, CA was safe to perform work. Daniel is a champ!! Understatement. If there were 10 stars in this rating schema, Daniel would own this! Daniel is INCREDIBLY accommodating, and REALLY enjoys his work. He was not only gracious, malleable and competent, but quite adept at thinking on his feet. This was MOST appreciated, because prior Lic C10s I had come through did not offer the same thoroughness, care and consideration. It was clear, in the past, once these historical electricians grasped the magnitude and complexity of what was involved with decommissioning this installation, they turned tail, 'attained escape velocity' and the homeowner did not see them again. Not Daniel. Daniel even went under the house into the crawl space to try to trace all the connections, too. Additionally, he went above and beyond the call of duty and was able to extricate the wind turbine brake cable which, unknown others had made unsuccessful attempts in the past. Wow-squared!! I can say with 100% confidence that the wires from the wind turbine are capped off, and the connection from the AC connection to the phaser/inverter is capped off. The installation is now safe to work on without being concerned about the flow of electrons from the wind turbine or from the PG&E electrical distribution network. This was a HUGE decommissioning milestone in this project!! Couldn't have done this without Daniel's help. Word on the street is, he also does work for Grid Alternatives. Can't have a better recommendation than that!
