The wait staff greeted us right away and let us choose our own table, which we appreciated, especially since it meant avoiding the nearby family with screaming kids. The restaurant has an open, beachy décor, and everything inside looked clean and well maintained. The food is definitely on the pricey side, but we did enjoy what we ordered. Service was excellent: we were seated quickly, given time to settle in, and then the waiter took our drink order. He even offered a small sparkling wine tasting so we could choose the one we liked best. We ordered the breakfast burrito, which was very flavorful. The chorizo added a great kick, and the avocado we added really rounded everything out. The small cup of salsa was tasty and added some heat. The burrito itself had a nice char on the outside, giving it a well‑done finish. We also tried the Seaside Benedict, which was both beautifully presented and delicious. The potatoes could have been cooked a bit longer, but they were still edible. We liked the fresh greens on the plate, and the English muffin had a sourdough‑like flavor that worked really well. The coconut shrimp "with greens" came with 4 heavily breaded shrimps with mild coconut...flavoring. I expected a few small bites of greens since it was mentioned in the name, but it was more like dried up plate decor. The corn chowder was fine, though it was serviced warm, not hot. For soup, especially ones with heavy cream and butter, I prefer it to be hot so I don't have to rush finishing it (because room temp chowder is unappetizing and not good for the gut)! I have dined here twice now. The overall aesthetic is really beautiful at this restaurant (and hotel). Each staff member has been so warm and lovely to interact with. That said, I do wish I enjoyed the food more for where the prices are at. There were definitely some stand out items and overall, it's pretty good. You won't leave hungry. They've got a fancy restaurant on the second floor called High Tide, with a different menu. Low Tide offers simple California cuisine highlighting local ingredients. The hotel is so beautiful I have been wanting to drop by and check it out. I convinced my husband to stop by for a drink on Valentine's Day as we planned to mini golf at the Boardwalk. I think these new build hotels and restaurants are great and will bring an elegance and upscale vibrancy to the neighborhood which it needed. The interior is so cute, it gives White Lotus vibes like you're on a tropical getaway. Prices aren't too bad, I would say they match what's nearby. We were able to snag a spot at the bar top immediately, a score for a holiday weekend (presidents weekend and Valentine's Day). I ordered an aperol spritz and my husband had the Socks and Sandals IPA (a local fav, lots of restaurants have it and if you like Hazeys I recommend). For the upscale vibes, I think the service needs to be better. It's def a good area for the college students to get jobs, but with college students comes partying. Our bartender was a nice kid, but you could see he was over being there. He let us know they were shorthanded and he was on shift from 9 AM - 9 PM and he was fighting a hangover. We're easy going people, and weren't there for the experience of dining. But a group sat next to us and during their greeting with the bartender they also noticed he was over it. Service and attitude are important, especially on a day that many are going out for dates and celebrating their love. I will definitely be back again because I want to check out the hotel and the other restaurants attached and I'd like to bring my girlfriends for a day out for drinks. Wanted to try this place out as it recently opened. We went on a Sunday night, it was super busy. We tried sitting on the patio, but they were unable to accommodate as we did not have a reservation. It was suggested to us that we make reservations due to how busy it has been getting. We were able to sit at the bar, which was also super busy! Service at the bar was okay. It took a while for anyone to acknowledge us and take our drink order. After that, our food also took a bit to come out. We tried their Caesar salad and burger with a side of fries. The burger and fries were good, the Caesar salad was okay. I asked for it chopped, so it was not a lot on the plate. I believe the lettuce is grilled so there is a bit of a distinct taste, but it was still good. I don't think I would get it again. We did not explore further and it is a new hotel so I'm sure there's a lot to see. I'm sure they will continue to get better as time goes by. They also have other restaurants/ bars to explore at the hotel and am looking forward to doing so in the future. read more

Experienced Low Tide Bar and Grill this weekend with a gf. They've only been open a matter of days so they're still working out the kinks. Low Tide Bar and Grill has some beautiful finishes and is right off Beach Street, with a view of the beach volleyball courts and all of the action. Staff were very welcoming, professional and answered all of our questions regarding their menu. I had a few cocktails and they were all yummy. My fav was probably the Humuhumunukunukuapua'a. Say that twice. My gf ordered the Bahia Rose. I had a sip of it and it was extremely sweet. The bartender graciously offered an additional topper of rum. We started with the shishito peppers which were really good, they just needed a maldon salt finish. I ordered the recommended Kobe burger. I typically ask for my burgers medium rare, but in this instance I asked for it medium to be on the safe side. My burger came out medium rare my first few bites, but as I made my way more towards the middle, it was pretty rare. It had great flavor, but unfortunately I couldn't finish it due to it being undercooked. My gf ordered the Dungeness crab and coconut corn chowder. I had a bite and could taste a hint of crab. My gf unfortunately said there was barely any crab throughout. I was fully expecting an impressive crab topper, so hopefully they tweak both that and their burger doneness. I will say the drinks and most food items are pricy. I get they're trying to price the riffraff out, but at least offer a happy hour or some prices for locals. We had our night cap in the lobby bar, Pearl. Tons of seating options and good for larger groups. Wasn't super thrilled with the wine selection, they could do better with our amazing Santa Cruz Mountains offerings. I had a wonderful friends lunch on a beautiful, clear day here. The water view was absolutely stunning and the cheese burger/fries combo was huge but delicious.....the sauted onion was a perfect accent. Low Tide doors are located to the left of the hotel main entrance, and the decor is lovely...coastal, low-key, but sumptuous and very comfortable....especially the booths! What a gem! Low Tide is below High Tide in La Bahia and splits into two sections - one indoors and the other outdoors facing the ocean. I passed by to have a cocktail at Pearl and when walking out I smelled the food at Low Tide and just had to eat there. Well, after trying 3 apps, 2 entrees, and 2 deserts (made by a 3 star Michelin chef) I can safely say that the food here is absolutely divine. But it's not just the food right? The location is amazing - comfortable with heat lamps as you look out into the pier and ocean, but what really makes it are the people. From the two ladies at the front desk, to the support staff, and most importantly our waitress Molly. Guys & gals, Molly is the most attentive caring waitress you run into at maybe one out of every 50 restaurants. She was so kind and on top of things. We ordered so much food that she and a helper moved the heat lamp to move another table to adjoin ours then reset the heat lamp all so that we wouldn't have to move so we could enjoy our view. Really, this place is the destination you wanna go to. I will be back regularly. And because of the service I'm eager to checkout the hotel. read more

The big storm knocked out of power at our home for a few days. We were not able to use our oven so we chose Low Tide for Christmas lunch. They were serving brunch but we decided to have drinks and wait the 30 mins for the regular lunch menu. Sadly, it took the full 30 minutes to get the mixed drinks and tap beer. But it was Christmas so we all pushed our patience button and enjoyed the bread basket plus truffle fries with water. Our server, Molly, was fantastic. She helped us navigate the menus and was very attentive to our meal. They have a nice variety of lunch items. We ordered the Dirty Girl Tomato Pizza, Kobe Burgers with fries and Crab and Corn Chowder. The chowder was amazing. Every bite had crab in it and the flavors were perfect. It's one of those dishes that you think about until you can go back and order it again. Scrumptious! The restaurant is beautifully decorated with an elegant coastal resort vibe. You have great views of the bay and comfortable tables to enjoy the afternoon. A friend and I went for lunch today. One pizza, one chicken sandwich, an iced tea, and a coke totalled $95 with normal tip. The food was mediocre and everything took forever to arrive - and when it did, the chicken sandwich was lukewarm. My friend got the fig and proscuitto pizza which she said was good, but the toppings were pretty sparse for the size of the pizza. The chicken sandwich was meh - too much chicken with a dry bun and pickled onions that I could barely taste. Because the restaurant is at street level, you really get little to no view of the beach and the outdoor section is bounded on the other side by the hotel garage, so you've got two views of cars to appreciate. I don't normally review but we went to this location since it was attached to La Bahia Hotel during our stay there and boy where do I start. The staff was kind and the food was okay tasting but it kind of just ends there. It wasn't that busy but service took a long time so it feels quite understaffed. It took a while to get our order in and a while to get our food The menu is quite overpriced too which I get given the hotel but I would've expected much better service and tasting. Even a small side of avocado is $8 Their interior was okay but there was a handful of flies around I definitely wouldn't come back and don't recommend if you stay at the hotel and consider some other places nearby. Do yourself a favor and go down the block to The Picnic Basket and get better food for half the price. Also random note: the person who served our food was sweating profusely and I almost wonder if that ended up in our meal. read more

I was very impressed by the food quality. And the portion sizes. I also noticed something striking about the Bahia itself. This place is a labor of love. My family and I came here for dinner and got the catch of the day (halibut), pesto with salmon, and surf tacos. The service was excellent, we really liked our waitress. The food was pretty good. All of us noted that the fish was a bit overcooked in every dish. The surf and turf tacos would have been excellent but needed a salsa or something to help with dryness. Unfortunately we found a hair in one of the dishes, but the staff was very nice and comped both the dish and a dessert of our choice (we got the paradise slice, which was good). The patio can be breezy in certain spots and somewhat loud due to valet activity behind the patio and boardwalk vehicle noise. Not the restaurant's fault, but something to keep in mind if you have a skittish pup. First visit: I had the pepperoni pizza and my husband had the fish tacos and a margarita. Everything was very good. Fresh and flavorful. Second visit (takeout) was less smooth. We tried to order the kids' veggie option, but the staff member didn't seem to know what we were referring to. We also ordered a flourless raspberry chocolate cake, but they were out of it. We decided to pick up the food since we didn't have cash to tip for delivery. When we returned to our room, there were no utensils and my dessert was missing. We called and were placed on hold three separate times over 15 minutes before being told to come back to get it. After another 30 minutes of waiting, our food was cold by the time we ate it. The grilled artichoke was good (a bit waterlogged), but the dipping sauce wasn't great. The cake we ended up getting was disappointing. My husband's burger looked excellent though. Food quality can be good, but service consistency needs improvement especially for takeout. read more

I ordered the chicken mole, my friend got us some fries to share she got the caesar salad and my other friend got a pizza. Everything was great but the caesar salad. The lettuce is charred ... I appreciate twists and spins but not this one. Lettuce should not be grilled, especially with a menu with so few options of fresh vegetables or greens. I was driving so I ordered a diet coke, but my friends got drinks. My friend ordered an aperil spritzer, she liked it but it reminded me of a Starbucks drink too much ice, not filled to the brim and there should have been garnish. The drink should have been special and matched the fancy ambiance and the price. Especially because that is what this place could be known for, drinks and appetizers. For locals and tourists during long summer days when you can bop into so many places for a taste of this and taste of that being so close to the wharf. My other friend also ordered a cocktail and the ice was filled to the brim. It was tasty but not worth ordering a second one. It was a long dinner and no one was rushing us out. I will definitely come here again hoping they have fixed their ice to drink ratio and have perfected their salad options to be more fresh.
