I reached out this morning to place a large order but wanted 1 sweet item and 1 savory item in every bag! #Spreadingjoythrufood was bringing snack treats to Lowell Fire houses! They were so accommodating and pleasant to work with! Their online ordering thru Facebook even gave 20% off your 1st order! The smell as you walk in was so sweet and the fresh baked breads and pastries looked great!! I always look forward to Pastel De Nata on every holiday with my in-laws! The are sweet flakey custard tarts! And for our Savory section I picked Coxinha (Chicken croquettes), Risole de Presumto e Queijo (ham & cheese Croquettes) and Pastel de Carne (fried puff with beef) With 50 of these bags in my car I was so hungry delivering our city fire fighters!!

Tried some Portuguese tarts from here- they did not taste very good. There are better shops in Chinatown Boston

Just got some pastry, which were just OK, but only because they were puff pastry based, which make a mess. Breads and rolls looked awesome

The nice woman told me that she does not have any cakes due to high customer order, but she can make me one if I can wait in 30 minutes. I got the cake after waiting and I brought the cake home to surprise my family. The decorations on the cake are beautiful and the taste of the cake is fresh and delicious. Everyone in my family enjoyed the cake. Thank you the owners of the bakery who made this cake in a special night.

Everyone knows that you have to get to a Chinese bakery early in the morning for the freshness and availability of all their wonderful delights. The dessert/cake display case left much to be desired. Again, it could have been that we arrived later in the day but it didn't seem like there was anything pleasing to the eye. Usually I get super excited and over order the typical Chinese sweet treats and end up with a box full of green tea cakes, sponge fruit cakes, mango custard, and sweet rice cakes. I didn't care for anything here except something called the "Triple" baked bun with was three separate baked buns stuck together with custard, taro and red bean filling. The baked buns are displayed on a rolling bakery cart with each group of buns labeled accordingly. There was a great variety of baked buns that included taro, tuna, hotdog, pork, and one that I've never seen before, "Steak & Cheese." We had to get one to try. Prices were a little higher than the usual Chinatown fare at $1.50 or $ 1.75 for most of the baked buns. My husband and I split a regular steamed pork bun that was filled with the usual pork filling, hard boiled egg and Chinese sausage that is common among all baos. I'm not sure if it's because we were already ravenous, but the pork bao was pretty good. I'd definitely get another one.
