CELIAC SAFE! Finally, a place in Lowell with a dedicated gluten-free kitchen. The food is actually delicious, the drinks are carefully curated and they have a rotating menu for drinks per season (they like to do drinks named after songs). Their drinks are like Starbucks but better. Don't even get me started on From Eden. There's nothing like lavender in coffee. The staff is well informed on allergies, very friendly, and so kind. And you can't beat the ambiance. A lovely place to sit outside or indoors at the beautiful handmade tables, with comfy chairs that let you sink in to get down with a good book, some work on your laptop, or even a date! And you can't mess with trivia nights! Honestly they are not easy, but you really get into it! We go every Thursday. The other events are fun, too. They collab with places all around Lowell so you know they are a hometown staple. My go-to cafe!

Strawberry Blush Matcha, BYO Bowl

This place is definitely a hidden gem! Being totally honest, the location has some weird vibes, being in an unmarked brick building. Also, the interior design feels strangely sophisticated, but still a nice atmosphere making the spot a fun place to eat and work nonetheless. As for the service, despite it being peak lunch time, it was fast, extremely helpful and friendly, and very caring. As soon as my order was taken, I know my food would be made with great precision. And I can say with absolutely certainty that it was!! I ordered their versatile BYO bowl with kale, quinoa, chicken, sweet potato, chickpeas, avocado, goat cheese, and tahini garlic dressing. Take notes if you need ideas for what to order because it was absolutely incredible!! I worry sometimes that the flavors won't work together well when creating my own dish as a result of ingredients conceptualized individually of one another, but dragonfly's ingredients are made so freshly and are so packed with flavor that this was not a problem at all! Also, their extensive menu from the BYO option to their premade bowls, salads, toasts, smoothies, breakfasts, and drinks ensures that there will be something for everyone no matter your dietary preferences or cravings!! I highly recommend giving this spot a try (just be prepared for a pricey bill). Other than that and the odd vibes, I would say this place is great for meeting with friends, having professional gatherings, or relaxing and getting work done on your own!

If you're looking to get full, this is not the place. I've tried this place 2 times and both times I was disappointed. The cafe is very cute and spacious, love the interior design. I feel like it'd be a great place to study since they have long, rectangular tables similar to how they have in study spots on campus. For the food, I got the açaí bowls last time and they tasted like nothing. It started to melt very quickly and became just liquid. The Dragonfly came with shredded coconut which I asked to get taken off but it didn't but they were nice about substitutes. The add-ons are not worth it, I paid for the peanut butter and barely got any on it. The presentation is very nice though the color makes it look very pretty. For nearly $15 the size and taste did not live up to anything. This time we got the sandwiches and they were not enough to get us half way full. Maybe it was my bad to think so cause it did say it was on toast but I thought since it was a sandwich they would try to fill it a bit more. They were just small and although there was sauce, there wasn't much flavor to it. The BLT was fine, couldn't taste the sauce but I could see it dripping out. The Motivated was full of sauce but I could mostly just taste the cheese and was only given 1 piece of bacon. It was almost snack to me, it wasn't stuffed at all and was finished quickly. The staff here were very nice but they did leave during the middle of the transaction so we were kind of just waiting there. But they do bring you your food and are sweet.

Hot To Go and Green Light

I've been trying to find some good matcha sunce moving to Lowell and finally tried this place. They also have a few other drinks I want to try. I got the Green Light iced, the matcha flavor isn't very strong. It's better than what I got at another place, but I will still keep looking. My boyfriend got a Hot To Go. I'm not a fan of the cinammon flavor. Experience here was fine, we ordered to go. I just wonder if I was given the wrong size, but my social anxiety stopped me from asking I ordered a large and my boyfriend ordered a medium but my drink turned out smaller than his?

Contrary to what I thought, the interior is huge! It gives off modern coffee shop ambiance with a little bit of hippie, organic. I love the booth seats. The servers and cashiers are very friendly and welcoming. If you dine in, they bring your drinks and food to you! My husband made his own bowl with basmati rice, kale, I think beef carnitas, and a whole bunch of other stuff. I ordered the motivated sandwich which was essentially an egg, bacon, cheese, sandwich with micro greens. My sandwich was basic, and small, not worth the $10 I'd say. However my husband's bowl was full of flavor! The carnitas kinda tasted like Vietnamese Thit Kho so that was nice. He raved about the flavor in The sweet potatoes and how he's coming here from now on. I got the Lagoon lemonade while he got the Dragonfly lemonade, which the cashier mentioned is made with house made elderberry syrup. My lemonade tasted so familiar but I couldn't put my mind to it. It tasted like a blue raspberry lemonade but very light and not too sour which is great for when I want something refreshing and fruity. The dragonfly lemonade was also a toned down lemonade with a slightly sweet taste which is good as well. Overall, I'd definitely come back to try some more drinks. P.S. they also serve liquor here so if you want brunch ;)

Got a bowl for takeout and it was pretty solid with good flavors and portion. Good first impression and I would try this place again.

Seating

This place is absolutely wonderful! The staff is so kind and answered all the questions I had! I loved my hazelnut latte! It has the most gorgeous layout, the atmosphere is so calm and inviting! 10/10 I will definitely be back

Favorite chill spot for a high protein meal. Made fresh and with love! The cafe is beautiful, bright and spacious. Wonderful service with kind employees. Hidden gem right off route 3 in lowell.

This place is amazing, I've never had a bad meal here. Fresh, great ingredients, friendly atmosphere.

Butterfly pea flower herbal iced tea 24oz. Chill pill raw juicery. Revitalized. Make your own bowl.

The food were really good. I created my own bowl, it was quite pricey for such little amount. I also got the "revitalized" salad and will probably order that one again. I really like the chill pill juicery. The butterfly pea flower iced tea was okay. I didn't read that it changes color and thought I was tripping. Lol. Bottom line.. Healthy and delicious!

Stopped by this coffee spot and really wanted to love it. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and…read morethe service was genuinely friendly: definitely a nice place to hang out. Unfortunately, what I ordered just didn't land. I got the seasonal campfire latte with protein powder and a matcha brownie. In hindsight, I should've kept it simple and skipped both the protein powder and the brownie. The latte tasted pretty chalky from the protein powder, and the matcha brownie unfortunately seemed stale, like it had been baked a few days prior. The vibes and service were solid, so not a total loss. I likely just ordered the wrong things. Maybe we'll give it another shot and try something simpler before we head back home to the West Coast.

The first time I was there I got one of their seasonal ice cream lattes (like an affagato) and it was good two scoops of ice cream with espresso for $6 was a good deal and it tasted good as well the ice cream was good quality and the espresso was freshly and toasty. More recently I got their seasonal mango sticky rice matcha and it was very very good I would likely reccomend a matcha over a coffee if you were to come here. I had a baked good and it was only alright, I would skip it. The atmosphere is hit or miss, sometimes the artwork they have on display is nice but sometimes it is kind of freaky. It also is typically pretty hot and a little smelly with sticky tables. The staff could not be nicer though, they are very knowledgeable about the menu and are happy to help if you have questions and get your coffee ready quickly.

Located slightly off the beaten path where the former Nibana Cafe was located: across the street from Lowell's city hall, Pollard Library, and a half dozen staples of Lowell's drinking/dining district. Eclipse fills an unfilled niche for that quiet, relaxing cafe with delicious coffee in a friendly environment that's actually conducive to curling up with a great book (perhaps from your local library!) or hammering on keyboard for your job that you're tired of spending in solitary confinement at home on the other end of a Zoom call that never ends. Here's a place that's welcoming to all, offers wonderful coffee, and is an easy jaunt across the trolley tracks right off downtown. Strong air conditioning in this steamy hot summer days of 2025 also make it a great place to visit when your home A/C goes out in the middle of the summer. Getting your car fixed at VIP? Skip the god-awful K-cups and obnoxious TV talking heads and swing by here to relax and treat yourself to a great cup of coffee. Picking up some books at your local library that's noticeably missing any coffee to keep your going during final exams or an all afternoon book marathon? Come get eclipsed by friendly service and extra caffeine. Walking to Market Basket or Olympus Bakery for some tasty food or pastries? Why not treat yourself to a tasty beverage to make that short walk/drive a bit more memorable? ProTip®: while you may have your personal favorite, consider branching out a bit and trying some of Eclipse's specialty lattes, particularly the fashionable Dubai Bar latte, which has just enough chocolate and coffee to balance itself out. All in all, if you're looking for coffee and an alternative to the hustle and bustle takeout focused cafes that dominate most of downtown Lowell, Eclipse Cafe is a must-see that may just become your new place to be!
