Their marketing/promotion department is terrible and not at all organized. There aren't many reasons to pay $40 per person for a seat in Row M of Section 102 for Single A baseball, but I did find one. I'm a huge fan of The Office and the Spinners were advertising an Office Trivia Night featuring an appearance by Leslie David Baker who played Stanley on the show. There was also a BBQ buffet included in the price. The BBQ was ok, not bad for a baseball game, but nothing to write home about. Burgers, dogs (with no grill marks), ribs, pulled pork and pulled chicken, corn on the cob, beans, but no corn bread. The trivia was fun too, some nice and easy questions and some real difficult ones. We didn't finish in the top 3, but we still had a good time. The promotions department really dropped the ball on the appearance by Stanley. He was there, but not for the trivia. He was up on the concourse and you needed a special ticket to see him, the $40 Office Trivia ticket wasn't good enough. No one from the trivia company or the Spinners mentioned this. By the time we realized this the Spinners were sold out (those were the words the employee who turned us away from the line used). It seems the Spinners are desperate for people to come that they have no problem misleading people into paying $40 for a single a baseball game. There was no value there on this particular night. Save yourself and check out the Portland Sea Dogs or Pawtucket Red Sox for the same or lower cost and a higher level of baseball. read more

I am NOT a professional sports team fan. I lean more towards the semi-pro and local teams as they are not so over commercialized and over priced. I like the local Lowell Spinners and all that it is. Good clean fun. A few notes: -Excellent concessions. -I agree with Catherine's review- so much nonsense. The management can not even let a few seconds go by without a silly music clip or shenanigan. Every moment is captured and full of silly nonsense. Some I can sand but every second of down time? -We were sitting just left of home plate. More netting is needed on the right and left as someone is going to get hurt from a foul ball. -Parking need better signage. -Parking is cheap. I am happy to support the Spinners (more than the Red Sox) , and want to come back soon. Thanks Guys read more

There's a lot to like about Lowell, but this is an attraction you're going to love- not just for Lowell, but the entire Merrimack Valley community. With ticket prices at only $6-8, you can afford to take the entire family out for the evening and still get ballpark snacks without breaking the bank. The Lowell Spinners aren't too bad either, so you just may go home with mushy squishy feelings of a home team win- which is a great way to end a date night with your honey. The park is clean and well kept. The seats are well spaced so that you don't have to stretch to see over the person in front of you, and every seat makes you feel like you're in a good spot- especially when they do giveaways and prizes in between innings. They do a great job of keeping the energy level high, even during the innings, so that it never gets too boring for the little ones who don't quite understand what it's all about yet. If the kid can't sit in their seat, no problem- just take them over to the play area near third base. I had heard rumors that tickets were often sold out in advance of the game, and when I called to ask about tickets, the rumors were confirmed by the ticket sales staff, but they did say that I could get a standing room ticket at the park. Here's a little tip: even though they may saayyyyy "Standing Room Only" - that doesn't mean you'd actually have to stand for the entire game. Fact is, any seat that is unclaimed after the first inning is fair game to sit in for standing room only ticket holders. Since the standing room ticket is only $4, if there's an $8 seat open after the first inning, you might get an even better seat than if you'd been able to purchase a regular seat! Cha-ching! In my attempt to try this method out, I arrived to the park a little over an hour before game time in hopes of getting a "standing room only" seat for the game that I was told had been sold out. To my surprise, the ticket window asked what kind of seat I wanted (hmmm.. not really sold out, eh?) and being the big $8 spender I am, I said I wanted the best they had! Turns out I was able to get two seats right behind the catcher only 5 rows up. Ummm... who needs tickets in advance, when you can walk up and get seats like this?! WICKED! There was a great crowd and it was just a fun and relaxing atmosphere. I was impressed that they didn't do too much gouging on the food and drink prices, and there were some interesting choices for food. If you can find the steak tips, they were the tastiest looking thing I saw at the park (next time I'll actually try them)! The only thing I think they could improve about the park is putting lawn seats near the outfield for people who want a different experience- maybe something to give kids an extra place to run around. I look forward to my next Spinner's game and maybe I'll get lucky at the ticket window again! read more

I have now been to 3 Lowell Spinners games at LeLacheur Park (how DO you say that, btw?). Twice I've been with a big group (a company outing) and once with just friends. The 2 times with the group, we ate in the Gator Pit - all-you-can-eat hot dogs, sausages, ribs, wings, corn, macaroni salad, ice cream and soda - NICE! I don't know if it's worth it, price-wise, if you're just a few people, as the food is relatively cheap in the ballpark (well, compared to Fenway! $1.75 for a hot dog is a steal for a ballpark), but it is all-you-can-eat... The park is pretty small - someone last night said it holds 1,500 people - and there are pretty much no bad seats. It's pretty much, in my opinion, the perfect outing for a family with younger kids. They do plenty of fun games during the innings - getting kids involved as much as possible - and constantly ask the crowd to "Turn Up the Noize [sic]" or "Get Loud." What a great way to let kids get out their energy without being annoying! As for the game(s), they are fun, but obviously not as good as a major league game!! It's more an opportunity to go out, have some fun and watch some bball. read more

A big group of us went this summer to see a Spinners game and had a great time. It's a small park, but easy to navigate and the food is decent...with a better than average beer selection We tried to use the online food ordering app, and it delivered our order before we could complete it...so we paid a 2 dollar service fee for one beer, albeit a beer that was delivered promptly. At the end of the second inning, I was surprised by the PA guy and asked to play Family Feud....Although I lost, I won a Top Gun DVD anyway, and my picture was on the site the next morning! We were there for Free Sunggie day and got there too late to partake in Snuggie madness (we walked in right as the game started and the seats were half full)...Spinners lose a star Otherwise a cheap way to see a game....we had a great time and I hope to go back soon read more

So I haven't actually been to LeLacheur Park for a game...was there for the Wilco show. My review (in a nutshell)... -Easy to find (+1 star) Traffic was congested near the park, but that is to be expected. -Quick entry (+1 star) Did not have to wait foreva to get in! -Clean venue, good service (+1 star) Everyone that worked there was nice. -Lines were somewhat long for food/drinks (-1 star), but that's the ushe at a show. -Cool venue for a show (+1 star) You could sit in the stands or stand and dance up by the stage. Even though it started raining and the encore was cut short, it was fun while it lasted. -Plenty of Parking (+1 star) Getting out of the parking garage/immediate area was a trek, but isn't it always? I am writing this review in memory of my late boyfriend, Joe, who passed away August 19, 2003. We used to go to the Spinners games all the time. I remember the drive up there. We liked these games better than the Majors because the park was cleaner and easier to get to than Fenway. Getting around the park was also easier. It was a friendly and clean place, good clean fun. One day, Joe said to me, "See that little girl over there. Jules, if I could only catch a fly ball, I'm going to hand it over to that little girl right there." He loved to see the kids cheering and having fun. We loved that we could get handicapped seating so easily. We found that children nearby were always well-supervised and that no one got too rowdy or rude. There was an area off to the side where we could get souvenirs if we wanted. I think I had a bobble-head doll of one of the players once, but I don't recall which player. Joe got me a baseball hat, too. Once, we drove all the way up, listening to the radio, wondering if the game was on or not. As soon as we arrived we saw an entire line of cars reverse and leave. We realized that we had arrived at the moment the game had been called off due to bad weather. We didn't mind at all, since we loved the drive to Lowell so much. Near the park was a lovely ice cream place, so Joe decided we'd stop there. We sat together in the rain, enjoying ice cream, laughing over the Spinners game that didn't happen. On Tuesday, August 19, I told Joe I had tickets for the game on Thursday. I remember that afternoon I assured him we had the usual seats, the ones we liked. I had ordered them by phone. I remember when he left me off at home that afternoon. "See ya later," I said, closing the door to his van. read more

Home to the Single A affiliate of the Red Sox, LeLachuer is a very nice 3000 (or so) seat ballpark in Lowell. The Lowell Spinners have been the training ground to future red sox players for years including Papelbon, Youkilis, Ellsbury, etc... There really are no bad seats in this place. Everything is close to the action. Last time we sat six rows back on the third base line and it was really close. Try doing that for 8 bucks at a major league game. If you can't get a ticket, try standing room only. The place will empty out at some point and you can sit wherever. Plus it seems half the place is walking around the entire game anyway. Concessions are typical baseball fare...hot dogs, burgers, fried dough, ice cream, although no budweiser products were sold here, which I thought was strange. The place is very family oriented. During each half inning, there are various entertainment acts happening around the field. If the kids are bored, there is a play area designed just for them beside left field. It's a great place to bring family and/or friends and not break the bank. I recommend it. read more

***DISCLAIMER - Reviewing as a concert venue, not a baseball field*** Saw the Wilco/Conor Oberst show here, and I actually thought this was a surprisingly decent concert locale (the downstairs bbq was quite tasty as well)! If you stayed sitting in the bleachers you felt a little too far away and the sound quality didn't come across as well, but by the time you made it into the standing crowd no matter where you were standing you had a good shot at being able to see the band pretty clearly. All in all a solid concert venue. Minus a star for no back-up rain plan. The show was meant to go live rain or shine, but Wilco's encore got cut significantly when it started downpouring. We were prepared to stay and get soaked, and lelacheur should've been prepared with ample covering for the band's equipment! That's okay, Jeff, Nels, Glenn, John, Pat, and Mikael are all welcome to come over to my place to finish up with a private concert. I'd settle for just Jeff, too. read more

The "giveaways" are all gone hours before game time and yet I still see boxes of the "giveways" being carted aside for employees to have. Bullsh*t! It may be alright for kids but when you have some moron clubhouse attendant screaming like a retard on the video screen over and over, this place will become tiresome for you. I'm not a huge baseball fan. Let's start there. However, when I go to LeLacheur Park, I have a great time. The staff is friendly and courteous, and there are unique theme nights and entertainment if you have children. If you aren't a baseball fan, you can still have fun. Lots of audience involvement is suggested, which makes it far from boring. read more

Love this place! Ive been there several times for a spinners game and had a great time. Between inning entertainemnt is great for kids and kids "Swamp Area" is good for taking a break from the action. Wide food selcetion at the many consession stands. The hot dogs are cold, the beer is a little below cool, the relish, ketchup and mustard packets are difficult to open and the cotton candy in a plastic bag is awful. BUT, A night at leLachuer field to watch a Spinners game is a fantastic evening. Packed with families, kids running up and down the isles, stomping of feet, clapping of hands, games for kids, all goes to having a great fun filled time. To watch young ball players, playing for the sake of the game, hoping, hoping they each have the right stuff to make it to the majors makes for some exciting baseball. Guys sitting there keeping their score sheets, not like when I was a kid, filling it in with a number two pencil, marking each play with specially code marks, but with a electronic iPad. Same result but different method. If you want to have a great family time that you will not need to remortgage your house to attend take in a Lowell Spinners baseball game.
