I've been in many Lowe's, but my most recent experience at their Alcoa store was worth reviewing. I wanted a simple light fixture to replace the old front porch light on our house. I have clients come to our house so it doubles as my place of business, and leaving clients (literally) in the dark was not going to work. Jim greeted me and immediately offered solutions to my issues. As a pregnant 29 year old with very basic experience in DIY, Jim was informative and helpful without being condescending. We found a simple light under my budget and a "dusk to dawn" LED bulb to up our efficiency. No more leaving clients in the dark AND no more accidentally leaving lights on all day. Overall I was in and out in five minutes, under budget, and got a high quality product I was able to install myself in 30 minutes. Thank you, Jim!! read more

this is specifically about the Lowes DELIVERY branch, I just had my freezer delivered, I didn't turn around twice and they were driving out of the driveway! Freezer wobbly on the floor, nothing explained to me (like any adjustments and how to make them, etc). I thought they were getting something from their truck to finish setting up, but they left! They left without letting me examine the freezer to make sure all was ok...I signed NOTHING, as nothing was given to me. They reported to their home base (?) that there was an "altercation" and would never return...what... a..... big......lie! We asked 2 questions of one of the individuals which were answered in a very "gruff, unfriendly, "don't want to talk to you" kind of way. I'm the customer, I'm paying....and always friendly to the workers...I expect this back in turn....friendly answers, and patience....Lowes needs to get rid of this delivery branch, or teach them how to deal in a professional way with the public...(the first freezer was delivered badly, badly, squashed 2 days ago (I have pics) from top down, and their warehouse guy said "I can give you a discount"??????? WHAT? So we had them send that back...now THIS? I can say....that I have NEVER put up with such a bizarre situation in delivering a product in my lifetime! Called Lowes several times to complain...as I believe in FIXING the mistakes, and not just complaining about it....zero confidence this will be fixed with their delivery branch, unless Lowes management steps up. read more

Lowe's has always been spot on either any home needs we have had. However, their process for door installation has taken over three months, five installation cancellations and no one cares to help. Lowe's is great for everything else, but not this. I am so disappointed in them. read more

I came here from Home Depot after waiting about half an hour there for someone to assist me in the paint department. At Lowes someone greeted me promptly, kindly answered my questions, and had my paint ready in a few minutes! So grateful to get great customer service after such a bad experience elsewhere. read more

If there were less than one star, I'd use it. The Lowe's delivery service is the absolute WORST. We ordered a refrigerator in January that was not delivered because they sent a truck too big to get down our driveway -- even though we warned them in advance to send a smaller truck. We made the mistake of going back to get a washer and dryer this week. I called the day before the delivery and they confirmed they would send a smaller truck. But guess what? The delivery didn't arrive in the appointed window. After three calls, they finally said my merchandise would be delivered in two more days. That remains to be seen. Was completely disrespected by cashier Sonja. She didn't greet or offered thank you to the customer ahead of us. Upon getting to check out she did not greet us either. After paying for the items she did not thank us. My wife and I both said thank you to her. She still didn't reply. When I said "you're welcome" to her she laughed. She finally said have a good day. Upon calling the on duty assistant manager she was absolutely useless. And right before we entered the store we were looking at a $4000 Ariens mower as I need to buy one. We hired Lowe's to install a new kitchen and the project went terribly. We had to hire our own cabinet installer to fix the damage caused by the Lowe's installer. We are out of pocket several thousand dollars above the cost of the project. read more

The management at this Lowe's is horrible. They say they will call back and never do. I had a major problem and they totally ignored it. Their delivery service is the worst I've ever experienced. They scratched our wood floors and denied any claim we put in. Also they hooked up our washing machine wrong and it flooded the basement. They would not take any responsibility nor would Lowe's. The delivery guys came in screaming and yelling and made us extremely uncomfortable. They straight out lied right in front of us. Go to Home Depot. Then they lied and said it was coming out of the warehouse even though the store had 3 of them. Most employs here are not helpful and will give you the run around. They emailed that my order was ready and then let me stand in the store for an hour waiting on my order that they aren't even able to find. No one in this store knows what's going on and they're just giving people the run around so they can go walk around and hide and not help people. Would not recommend shopping here read more

Went in to try to order a replacement sash for a window that was purchased from Lowe's 4 years ago. I had the brand, model number, and had the sash with me in hand. The old guy that helped me was absolutely useless. Even with all the info I had, he still said there was nothing he could do. (They still sale this same window but mine was a special order size) He wouldn't even try to help me. He was very hateful and just a sorry excuse for an employee. Only goes to show what most everyone knows, lowes will put anyone in a position and just hope for the best. Me and my broken window walked out. Next day I called a different lowes. I had a great experience here at this location in Alcoa. I had two gentlemen help me on purchasing a Dewalt wood planer. In this busy atmosphere at Lowe's I don't like to look around for help. Personally, I think there should always be someone in each department. Lowes could probably debate that they do that, but I've been there several time and can't find anyone in the Power tools department so I go to Home Depot instead. This time I had to go here because they had this tool here and not their. The machine is extremely heavy! 75lbs! The gentlemen picked it up himself! I offered and he nicely declined. He even helped me out in my vehicle which I was extremely grateful for as I was with my 3yr old son. As we were checking out the gentlemen's the register was very nice as well! This Lowe's is absolutely awful. Drove up to this Lowe's specifically because there was an item I needed in stock. 26 to be exact. When I went to where the app said they were located, there were none. I asked a worker if they could help me find this item and they also saw that it was in stock but said they'd have to look for it in a box somewhere and it wasn't worth their time to find it (the same answer after asking multiple other workers and a manager.) Wants us to go back and take picture and comeback to checkout. This last time was the final straw. The girl talked to us like we were children. Looking for a wheelbarrow, I went in through gardening and asked. They told me to go over by lumber on the other end of the store. I did. The employees on that end of the store told me they were definitely in gardening. Went back to gardening where they now told me they were in front of the store on the other end of the building. Window installers, contacted by Lowe's, have been to our house three (3) times since my wife & I contracted with Lowe's for a major window installation on 25 March 2022. The issue since the beginning has been installation of a single transom window (theynever had the correct window size). All the other windows were installed correctly. Today (20 December 2022) the installation team came to install the transom window without the correct size - again. The installers have told Lowe's in Alcoa Tennessee the correct measurements previously - but Lowe's keeps ordering the wrong sized transom windows. I feel fortunate that the other 12 windows installed in my house were done correctly - probably a fluke. Don't go to Lowe's in Alcoa Tennessee for window installation. read more

We really like this location. The tool department is very knowledgable and helpful. You can order trees and shrubbery that you don't see on the salesfloor. They have a nice selection of ceramic tile. The loaders are very helpful and are always there when you check out with a large load. Very nice staff. read more

Called today (6-20-2020) and was told that not only was it not ready, the appliance was not even manufactured any more. Waited a month just to find out that I need to start over. We purchased a gazebo leas than a year ago. Last week we had a windy day, not a day with any high wind advisories but windy. The gazebo totally broke, the bolts pulled out of the uprights without shearing off the washers, etc. Just totally pulled out on two sides. This resulted in air getting underneath and allowing the gazebo to be blown across yard. This completely tore up the canvas top and bent the frame, all due to defective bolts. We went to Lowe's over the weekend and they were less than helpful. They wanted us to deal directly with the manufacturer and did not have a contact for us let alone number to call. They said we could Google the number. We did and it turns out the brand we bought is a Lowe's brand. They would not help us replace the gazebo nor make us whole in any way. We have shopped at this Lowe's for years however I suspect we will now become Home Depot fans. The gazebo had a one year warranty, they said wind was not covered. I guess they really prefer to lose business than actually help a good customer. When going to Lowe's think first and try Home Depot, we will. read more

Purchased Laminate flooring 7/18. 5/19 it is warping by the front door. Lowe's claims it's moisture & a "site issue" and claims their measurement of moisture was 8%. I've purchased a moisture meter and have NEVER found the area to be less than 11.3%. They claim they have 'documentation' for their reading, but will not provide it to me. Lowe's never offered to suggest a way to fix the area (small 3'x4' area), Dale (flooring) simply threw the waiver on the desk and said, "That's your signature. It's not covered," and walked away. I originally was open to paying something toward a way to fix the problem, but with the treatment I received - both from Lowe's and ServPro Installations - I will not set foot in Lowe's again. I will tell everyone I know to avoid Lowe's like the plague. They do not stand behind the products they sell, nor the installation. I will post pictures of the crappy flooring on every social media I can find!!! read more

Less than 15 mins after subcontractors left from carpet installation, we realized our thermostat had been smashed and put back on the wall in pieces in an effort to conceal the damage. It was completely non-working. We immediately called Lowe's to report the damage, was advised to have an independent HVAC contractor come out (did I mention it was in the 90's and after 5 pm?) and that we would be reimbursed for the cost. A year later, we've never received reimbursement. Lowe's offered a store credit for the amount of the invoice, but since we wanted actual reimbursement, we were referred to the subcontractor. Several calls to the subcontractor and Lowe's and check has been 'in the mail' for over a year. read more

Updated review: I've been to this Lowe's several times in the last few months. They're selection of plumbing supplies is so much better than Home Depot and much better presented and organized for the customer to find what they're looking for. Home Depot really lacks in this area and their prices for plumbing supplies are much higher, for worse selection. Go figure. I've also noticed that Lowe's products are generally slightly or moderately higher quality than Home Depot. Their wood, for example, seems to be higher quality for just slightly more cost. And Lowe's selection of non-construction wood for smaller projects far exceeds Home Depot. They have a much larger variety of wood species and way more sizes and dimensions to choose from and at very good prices. I haven't tried ordering online from this Lowe's yet and probably won't ever, honestly. But I thought they needed a more fair review now that I have a better idea of what they have and their prices compared to Home Depot and other hardware stores in my area. Another note, Lowe's website seems to be much more accurate in terms of what they actually have in stock at this store and what they are showing online. They seem to have a very good system for this and I prefer their website to Home Depot for ease of use. Just seems smoother and easier to search for things and define my parameters. The staff at Home Depot are still better in my opinion, at least more eager to help. Lowe's staff is still good though and helpful when I need them. read more

We paid cash for a wall oven that was ordered and took 2 weeks to get, picked it up and was damaged. Took pictures and went to the store and talked to a manager and ordered another oven to be delivered, delivery guys took out of the box on the truck so we could look at it and carried into the house and sat it on the new floor that had only been in 3 weeks. My husband and father picked it up off the floor and put it in the wall, there were more dents than the 1st one. Sent both ovens back! Waited a few days to decide what to do. Ordered a different brand that should have been in July 20th, but Lowe's calls on the 18th and said the manufacturer said it wouldn't ship till August 2nd. There is only so much you can cook in the microwave, toaster oven, and grill and only so much restaurant food you can eat. So today I decided to go to Best Buy to buy an oven and I got to bring it home with me..... Why did I not do this before?!!!!!! Instead of waiting almost 2 months for an oven from Lowe's! I ordered some countertops from the Lowes at Hunter's Crossing. Even though we gave exact measurements, the countertops did not have the hole for the sink cut out and there was no faucet holes cut. To help me load the countertops, they had an older lady come out to help! I believe this is poor customer service at the very least. I also believe this says the men at this store are sorry excuses for men. I'm not happy at all with this store. The countertops were not cheap and to not do the expected work is inexcusable. First off, I have purchased many things from Lowe's when I lived in Indiana including major appliances, roof replacement, water heater, washer, dryer, and HVAC replacement. Since moving to this area, I have purchased a refrigerator, lawn mower, and lots of smaller items at the Alcoa store. I wanted to replace my French style patio door with a sliding door. The salesperson knew very little about the doors and stated that she was about to go home for the day. It was clear she didn't want to bother with me. Didn't even have any brochures on the model I was interested in. That should have told me something. However, I went ahead and paid for someone to come out and do a measurement ($35). Was told I would be called within 2 days to set up a date and time for the measurement. Waited 5 days and no one called. I contacted the store and of course got the runaround. Finally got the number for the installation department and was assured that the installer would call me that evening or the next morning. No one called. Finally, after 3 more days of waiting, I went to the store to cancel the measurement and get a refund of the $35. I told the service desk why I was cancelling and the lady entered that into the computer. You'd think someone would have followed through with that but no one did. Oh well. I went down the road and gave my business to Home Depot. At least they seemed to appreciate getting the sale and the measurement was completed a couple of days later. Horrible experience with Lowes, my refrigerator caught on fire and I needed one right away. Since I didn't expect the expense I shopped for a clearance item and bought one from Lowe's. It has some dents so they reduced it and then delivered it to me with a plug that didn't have any prongs to plug in the wall. So the delivery guys left it and said Lowes would be in touch. Lowes never called, so when I called and spoke to Ashley the manager she said that I bought it as is. I said how could I have known that it had a plug and it was useless since it was in the lineup back to back with other appliances it was never shown to me or disclosed. What kind of store sells unsafe, unusable appliances? She offered no other resolution except to come back in and buy another one and pay the difference or pay to fix it! How dishonest and rude, my food spoiled and I am now wrestling with Lowe's to get it picked up and return my money. Horrible, horrible treatment. read more

I greatly appreciate Lowe's managers, assistant managers, and sales associates for addressing my two year old Mohawk carpet with a 25 year warranty that was delaminating (coming apart). Mohawk did not stand by their warranty when I had followed their guidelines. Lowe's offered to replace my carpeting which had been discontinued at no charge to me. We have been using Lowe's for as long as we have owned our home. We have spent thousands of dollars and have normally been very happy until we had our roof done. The way I understand it is that Lowe's hires contractor's to do certain jobs. This job is the only one we have ever had trouble with. When the crew came out to do our roof, there was not an order to do gutter guards like my husband had asked for. They told me this would be not bid deal and they could add this one and come out to install at a later date. When I called to have this done it was in December of 2015 and they finally finished today. II called the store 7 times before I finally got a response including a message I left for the store manager. After 7 calls and 3 months they finally came out to do a job that took 1 hour to finish. The work they did was great but the level of professionalism was terrible. They were not interested in helping me when we weren't spending $7,000 like we did on the roof. When I wanted something fixed for $600 they completely ignored me. This was very frustrating and has left a bad taste in my mouth for Lowe's. read more

So our trips to Lowe's has been quit often, so the service by Anthony in the appliance section and delivery of the stove by Mike and Jeff--seems they walked on water getting this delivery done. Worst Lowe's I've ever been to. I went to pick up two boxes of tile (I already knew exactly what I needed). I was looking for someone to help me in flooring- no one was available. I asked an employee walking by if he could simply help me pick up the 2 boxes and place them in my shopping cart. He said "sorry I don't work in flooring. Can't help you" and started walking away quickly. I said "ok, hopefully I don't hurt my back when I try picking them up myself." (I have back issues and I'm a 120 lb female). All of a sudden, he came running to help me. Fast forward- I was paying for my tile and asked the cashier to help get someone to load the boxes in my car. She said ok, wait outside by the yellow lines, pull your car up there. I did exactly as she said, and was waiting outside for 10 mins in the freezing cold, blocking the entrance. Nobody showed. I finally took the plunge and tried picking up the tile myself.. ultimately ended up hurting my back and now I cannot move. Thanks a lot Lowe's ! Never been to a store where the employees actually AVOID you instead of helping you.. what a joke. read more

Spring is a busy time of year, Lowe's should know that by now. On our last two trips about a month apart, this place gets a ZERO. They had one kid on the lot loading soil and mulch in the drive through. The poor kid threw bag after bag of the stuff in one vehicle after another. Old ladies really like mulch. After seeing him load over a hundred bags it was our turn. We had purchased 15 bags. We asked where his help was and he said that was a good question. He was working alone and no one would help him. Poor kid was probably making $10/hr. We gave the kid a tip, which he probably wasn't supposed to take. Five bucks isn't going to go far toward back surgery. This store couldn't give a rat's behind about that kid and whether he hurts himself doing the work of several men for peanuts. I called the store and spoke to a manager. There were other problems, but this one was appalling. I'll shop somewhere that staffs the store. read more
