Guess what, they also have a clothing section in case you need clothes to last during those rough and dirty jobs. They also added a pet section! Lowe's locations are pet friendly. Fun tip: don't forget to grab your gift cards. This location has a wide variety of options for gifting like their sister company Walmart. This location has a very large parking lot with plenty of accessible and pro parking. I hate the in and out doors but it's manageable. They also went to a self checkout system for the most part which can be annoying when checking out pvc, wood, and other small items not in packages. The value is great but they may not have as many luxury items like their competitors. A main brand at lowes is craftsman (red brand) and Kobalt (blue brand). However make sure to ask about the their delivery and install services for flooring, doors, laundry, and kitchen appliances. read more

I tried to return 4 PVC trim pieces tonight. Still in stock and it's pvc so perfect condition and found out that they wouldn't accept them since b they were bought over 90 days ago. No returns for a standard product over 90 days is an extremely poor policy. I will be taking my business elsewhere even though I've been happy with the inventory and people. I'll be going to Home Depot, Menard's or another competitor. Be careful not to buy too much there and make sure you know this return policy and the return manager said there's nothing she could do about it. I was building a new setup for my pet hedgehog and came here for a few random items--spray paint, hooks and screws, PVC pipe, etc. I was helped or offered help two times when I was only in there for 20 minutes! Additionally, their website allows you to see what is in stock, the aisle it's in, and the bay within the aisle. This made finding what I needed a million times easier. Many people go to the hardware store that's closest to them. That was initially true for us, and while the competition is barely more than a couple minutes from where we live, we continue to go to Lowe's for the quality of the items we can get and the service. From cabinets for the laundry room to wood and other items so for our son's Eagle Scout project - a lending library / borrow-a-book house, to so many everyday things like Velcro for power cords, Nite-Ize items, screws, drill bits and more. And just this past weekend, John in the glass cutting was a HUGE help... we have a shadow box with a broken/missing glass front. The craft stores could all provide glass, but higher-priced "museum quality," etc. I called to inquire and John confirmed that Lowe's had just the right size and he help the piece for me. When I got there we confirmed it was 1/8" too wide all around, so John nicely trimmed two sides and now it fits just right. We would not recommend Lowes for carpet installation because they use a company called Mark's Flooring. You should check Mark's Flooring reviews before utilizing them (make sure you check the Better Business Bureau Reviews -as of this date they were 1.52 out of 5 and Google Reviews - as of this date they are 2 out of 5). This review is more about Mark's flooring than Lowes, but Lowes seemed ineffectual in dealing with them on our behalf. BELOW ARE THE DETAILS, BUT THE BOTTOM LINE HERE, IS THAT MARK'S CARPETING LEFT OUR HOME AFTER AN INSTALL KNOWING FULL WELL THERE WAS A PROBLEM. THEY FAILED TO BRING THE PROBLEM TO OUR ATTENTION. IT TOOK A WEEK, SEVEN PHONE CALLS TO MARKS AND LOWES, AND A TRIP TO THE LOWES CARPETING DEPARTMENT IN BALLWIN, MO TO GET, WHAT TURNED OUT TO BE A TEN MINUTE REPAIR SCHEDULED. LOWES EMPLOYEES CLAIM NO INFLUENCE OVER THEIR EXCLUSIVE FLOORING INSTALLER AND ESSENTIALLY LEAVE YOU ON YOUR OWN IF THERE IS AN ISSUE. MAKE SURE YOU READ THE INSTALL CONTRACT. THE DEVIL IS IN THE DETAILS. We selected Lowes to install new carpet in our basement because we have always been satisfied with their products and service. We assumed this level of service would extend through their contractors. This is definitely not the case. We had a few issues getting the job scheduled, but they were resolved and not significant. The installers seemed polite and professional. They seemed to do a good job actually laying the carpet, which is all they contract to do. Nothing was broken or marred. However, they left the job without telling us that a door could not close because it didn't clear the carpet. We only discovered the issue after they left. We immediately called Mark's Flooring. Initially, we were told they would send someone back that afternoon to plane off the bottom of the door. They even admitted that the guy knew the door would not close but didn't say anything because he had no way to fix it. Again, anything beyond laying the carpet down is not in their purview. Though we believe he should have at least told us there was a problem. They then called and said that they would have to schedule someone else to fix the error and that they would call back the next day. After not hearing back from Mark's for almost two business days, I called again. I was told they would try to get us on the schedule and would get back to us by the end of business that day. Our house was on the market and showings were starting in a few days. We purposely started scheduling showings a week after the install, just in case there was an issue or a delay. I could not get a commitment out of them that they would have this fixed before the showings started. Why it would take a week to have someone come out and do a ten minute fix was beyond us. I called Lowes main customer service line. They were completely useless. They indicated there was nothing they could do that we were essentially on our own with Mark's. We then went to the Ballwin, MO store and got the assistant manager involved. He too indicated that there was nothing he could do for us that they didn't have any influence in the job at this point. This begs the question "why is a major corporation like Lowes utilizing a contractor that they have no influence with?" We stood in the carpeting department for over an hour until Mark's called the store back with a date to fix the error. That date was two days later. Initially they wanted to do it late in the afternoon the day before showings started. If there had been any additional errors or delays, we would have had no time to resolve them. We literally had to argue with them for 10 minutes to get them to move us up to the morning. They did show up to plane the bottom of the door off. It literally took them 10, 15 minutes tops. This was a whole lot of stress for a basically a small fix. read more

We initiated our order (for Levolor blinds) on February 4, and it is now September 15; and they still have not been installed yet. The people in the Lowe's "Customer Care" department (call center) are the WORST ... they are unwilling (or unable) to do anything about our problems (that is PROBLEMS plural) They cannot or will not escalate customer calls to the next level (their immediate supervisor); and it's obvious that all they want to do is get you off the call and move on to the net caller. Just stood waiting in the lock/key department waiting for two guys who were playing games on their phones and helping no one. Department full of people on a Sunday afternoon. Why do I keep coming here...convenience. The guys who delivered and installed my new washer and dryer said my vent was clean and I could return my newly purchased one but I overheard them say they didn't want to mess with a tricky top attachment...vent is 19 years old and has no lint? Yeah, right. Just got home from another bad visit. New guy in lumber was as nice as could be. No vest or even name tag he is so new. Gary, the assistant manager came by to give him a task...didn't acknowledge us or other customers waiting for the new guy and just moseyed off seemingly not caring about customers at all. So frustrating to shop here. So much bad going on that it clouds any single who actually cares about the customer. Update: Had their window salesman out for a quote. Knew exactly the windows I wanted. Should have been a fast quote and easy sale. An hour estimated appointment took over two hours and he never followed up with even a phone call. No customer service. The only thing worse than bad customer service is no service at all. My husband and I were just at Lowes purposely on a Friday evening when it wouldn't be busy so we could take the time to discuss what we wanted for our grill purchase, planning on spending around $1,000. I'm 70 years old and had trouble at do it yourself checkout n no supervisor was there to help I asked another cashier to page someone but he didn't instead he came over to try n help check me out but didn't know how! This is only a review for the Lowe's build and grow program. If you have kids ages 5-12 lowes has a program called build and grow. They do one sometimes two a month. The two a month are done usually in the summer months. They would like you to register at www.lowesbuildandgrow.com I've seen kids do these under the age of five. There always on Saturdays at 10am and go usually tell noon. If you don't register you can still do them as long as there kits available. The best part about this program is kids get learn how to work with there hands get something to play with and its all FREE. I have shopped Lowes in Ballwin since the day it opened. Lately we have had one issue after another with trying to purchase a refrigerator. We purchased an extended warranty with our current refrigerator After several attempts, all repairs failed. The warranty company bought out the old refrigerator and we were able to purchased on that worked. We came down to Lowes in Ballwin and picked out another one. I am military and was told Lowes discount for vets was 5 percent. I know it's 10 percent. A manager told me she wasn't going to argue with me because it's always been 5 percent. Ok so lets move on. Lowes told me it would take 6 to 8 weeks for delivery. When it arrived 6 weeks later it was dented up on both sides of the doors. The delivery guys told me they asked about the dents and scrapes but the store told them to deliver anyway. We refused delivery. we did NOT order a floor or closeout model. We then were told to come down to the Ballwin store and pick another one out and it would be delivered Sunday (today 8/23) No refrigerator showed up. We still have NO refrigerator. They told me it would be delivered Monday. I'll believe it when I see it. Their was a store manager Jason who did give us an upgrade. He did his best. We believe the store is the problem. Lowes good service is a thing of the past! I'm sure he two veterans who started Lowes years ago didn't have this kind of service in mind! Your only as good as those who you surround yourself with. I have been a loyal Lowe's customer for 25 years. Today, I went to buy a suite of kitchen appliance, planning to spend over $3K. The salesman was very slow, but admitted he was new and wanted to be thorough. That's fine. When we finally got to checkout, the cashier could not figure out how to put the purchase into one transaction. She, too, was slow and leisurely in attending to this already long process. The manager came over to help. He didn't know how to help but he DID see the long line of people gathering behind me, so he bailed and went to another register to take care of them. The last straw came when she asked me for proof of my veterans status in order to give the veteran's discount. I showed her my drivers license and where it shows veteran status. She said "well, I've never seen that before" thus implying that I was lying in order to get the discount. So out the door I went. No sale, no going back. First I will start by saying I LOVE Lowes! I am remodeling my whole house and have turned to Lowes for the essentials many times. I pass 4 other home improvement stores to get to this Lowes in particular. Today, I had to go in and return a 5 gallon of primer and purchase another 5 gallon of paint. I am pregnant so I asked Sam who I believe is the manager if someone could help me. She was obviously annoyed by this request. Her body language, tone of voice, and lack of sincerity spoke volumes. Customer service is their job. That was the sign they stood under. I requested assistance bc I can not lift heavy objects. I was polite and embarrassed that I was even having to ask for help. Sam, you made this experience for me even more embarrassing and shameful. I didn't appreciate your attitude and clear annoyance. As for all other team members who Sam is clearly in charge of... they did FABULOUS. They were concerned and helped me out of pure kindness. None of them seemed annoyed or even bothered. First, I have to say that I hate big-box hardware stores. The quality of the materials they sell is sub-par. That being said, they are very accessible and inexpensive. So for projects where the quality of the lumber isn't as important, then Lowe's is a good place to go. I gave this location 2 stars instead of just 1 because the employees are so friendly and helpful. I actually made this trip to Lowe's with a specific project in mind--I was building a tilt-out cabinet to store our trash can. I used 1 x 12s, and all the 1x12s at Lowe's were very warped. I had to make do with the best two that I found. But using lumber from big-box hardware made it impossible to get my cabinet square. I pushed; I pulled; I even sat on the wood as I nailed it, but some of the warping still shows. Luckily, if you don't know it's not square, you don't notice the warping as much. My husband didn't notice until I pointed it out. Anyway, long-story-short, go to a lumber yard if you have an important project. And if you are in the market for plywood, take note that Lowe's does not sell formaldehyde free plywood (at least, not at this location). If you want healthier plywood for an indoor project, you can get a product like PureBond at Schaller Hardwood Lumber Company. read more

I've bought many appliances here. I was happy with the price and service until the last time. The last item was a refrigerator that I consider on the expensive side. The delivery men put a big gash in my wall and a large scratch in the fridge. The delivery person did gave me a small discount but then didn't actually get it all the way into the kitchen. The doors needed to be taken off the refrigerator to fit through the opening. So he just left it in the dining room. I thought ok and hired a former Lowes delivery guy who was shocked when I told him about my dilemma. He told me it's a common practice for Lowes delivery guys to remove fridge doors and they do it all the time. He trained his replacement to do that task. So I go back to the store and Gary comes over to my wife and I and tells us he an assistant manager and gonna credit our Lowes account $250. My wife and I both thought that was fair to cover the wall damage and the hiring of an person. Well it's been over a year and I haven't received anything. read more
