At first, I was going to file a complaint for Lowe's as a whole, but I just had a very degrading experience in store. This is the second time I placed an online order for an item, for it to be canceled WEEKS later, because they "ran out". This time, it was a Kobalt lawn mower. After paying someone to mow my lawn again, 2 weeks after it was supposed to arrive, I got an "order update" that just showed that my order was canceled. No phone call or email explaining they had run out, it just showed it was canceled. I had to call myself to find out what happened. At this point I demanded a similar mower for the same price as the original one I purchased, which was $299. I couldn't compare them side by side because the one I had ordered had disappeared from their website, but the one I found that seemed to have the same specifications, but was a newer model, was suddenly $499. The most that the manager offered was $100 off. Which is technically only $50 off since you can easily get a 10% off coupon online. I do not remember his name but he was nice and professional about it. Livid at the time, I declined his offer and decided to get in touch with corporate. Although the lady I spoke with was very nice, the call was completely useless. All she did was apologize and try to search for a new mower I may be interested in, even though I told her I spent hours researching myself, which led me to the mower that I was SUPPOSED to get, for $299. I called Lowes back and spoke with a manager named Kevin to see if the discount was still available. Even though I at this point did not want to give Lowes my business, this is the mower I wanted and Home Depot doesn't sell it. He was professional, told me it wasn't a problem, and to just come in and let him know that we spoke and I would receive a discount. So, I walk into Lowe's on 41 and go straight for order pickup because I wasn't sure if he had reserved one there for me or if I had to go get it. The girl called over the manager, Chris, who was walking by at the moment. I briefly described the situation to him and he says "uhhhhh, I don't know a Kevin". I told him I may have gotten the name mixed up but continued to explain the situation. We came to the conclusion that I had called the wrong store (Kevin works at state road 70). I explained that I did still speak with another manager before Kevin, whom I was sure managed his same store, because I went ahead and checked the number I called. In the middle of explaining, nicely, about the mower I found for $499 having the same specifications as the other one, he just walked away in the middle of my speaking. Still holding my patience when he came back to tell me the mower I want is for $699 and he can't do he $200 discount, I reminded him the one I wanted now was $499 and was only asking for a $100 discount. Was he even listening to a word I had said before? Now, he proceeds to tell me I dont want the one for $499 because it isn't self propelled. Being a 130 lb young woman, I knew exactly what he meant by that, and insisted I would be fine without the self propelled. He sighs and says "trust me, you're going to need self propelled". At this point I was absolutely offended and told him that I know I am a girl but I know how to push a mower and its not my first time. He said if I really want that one he would do the $100 discount for me. He was still hesitant and never friendly about the situation. He walked away at this point, not explaining where I needed to go. I tried to follow and he said he would have someone bring it up to me, but then walked out the front door and never returned. I asked the gentleman where I needed to go to check out and he seemed unsure but said probably customer service. At this point I don't even know where Chris went and didn't know what to say to the girl at customer service. Luckily the girl from pick up came to tell the girl at customer service that I was receiving a discount, which was followed with a nasty "really, why?" She was friendly but through all of this she was attempting to vent to me and other employees about drama between her and the other girls. Completely unprofessional. I have worked in some form of service my whole life and everyone knows you don't complain in front of, and especially to customers about work drama. Lastly, while waiting at customer service an employee tapped me on the shoulder to let me know I had dog hair stuck to the back side of my yoga pants. If a manager is reading this, check out the cameras from about 3:20 PM on July 1st and you can see him approach me. I could understand if I had toilet paper stuck to the bottom of my shoe but him approaching me like that was completely inappropriate. Needless to say Lowe's has lost a customer for life. Fix your online ordering, sexist management, and teach your employees not to harass the females who come in there. read more

Worst customer service experience ever! Damaged refrigerator. Sent it back and couldn't get another for 6wks?! Manager could care less and did nothing for me. Cancelled order and went to HD where I had new frig in 5 days. Also my son applied for a job, had great interview, was told to come back in for drug test. Nina and Kimka provided good service. However the lady in appliances and Vince the store manager did not. We returned a washer and bought a different make and model. Since we brought one back we decided to take the new one home ourselves. We were told it would be brought right up. After 10 minutes a clerk contacted Kimika and she went on the hunt. After another 15 I called the store manager while waiting at the entrance. First attempt they disconnected the call. When I called back and spoke to Vince he was going to check into it. Bottom line we waited 30 minutes when Kimika appeared with our washer. Vince tried to blame it on the inventory area that had to find it and pull it. He didn't get the poor customer experience, time estimate was way off, and tried to make excuses for why it took 30 minutes. read more

My wife and I have spent a lot of money at Lowes in the last year, we had them renovate our kitchen. They and their contractor did a great job. Today we went to Lowes to get an additional shelf for a kitchen cabinet. We got a 2' x 4' piece of Birch Plywood that we needed to be trimmed to 22" x 34" in size. We went to the wood cutting station. A young lady came over and told us that she said Lowes will not custom cut wood sizes. When we asked why she told us that Lowes does not provide that service. WOW! So we left at went to Home Depot and got the same piece of wood there and had it cut to size. We will not be using Lowes any more. We spent over $70,000 at Lowes between the renovation, appliances and flooring. But we can spend our money where we have the ability to get what we need. read more

Terrible customer service I was looking for a certain Christmas tree the guys originally to help me where awesome and not there fault Tom so it was not there problem at all but when I did get home I found out that it's not the right tree that I bought so I called them to find out what tree I did buy if I spent too much all he told me to do was bring it in and exchange it I said sir it's 12 days before Christmas you know how hard it is to bring a Christmas tree and he goes well if we don't have the tree that you came in for then there's nothing we can do but you can only return the tree I said that solves no issues at all and that was it is name was Chris read more

Worst customer service I have ever experienced at Lowe's. I highly recommend not ordering online for pickup at this location. The two ladies at the front desk were incredibly rude, and not interested at all in helping me. One lady preceded to roll her eyes at me as soon as I walked in and politely asked if my order was ready for pickup, and the other said I was "getting antsy" after I explained the email I received saying it was ready-when in fact it wasn't. Also heard one of them say she wasn't answering the phone anymore?? Terrible service overall. Will be going to a different location next time! read more

If I could give this store 0 stars I would. We will never use them again for anything related to home improvement. We've used them to install bathroom shower doors, laundry doors, 2 screen doors and a window. Everything takes way too long to order and they need better sales associates. Our experience with our back room reno was horrible and just dealing with their contractors is a nightmare as well as trying to get anything done one time and in budget. My mom and I ran over to Lowe's to see if we could find any throw rugs for our home for a reasonable price. Of course we did find one that we liked that was very inexpensive, but trying to get the attention of any staff or employee was a task in of itself. When we did get someone's attention, we had to basically tell them how to do their jobs for them. Come to find out, half an hour later, this particular store didn't have what we wanted in stock and the manager wasn't willing to order the throw rug we wanted for us. I really wouldn't recommend going to this location because the staff isn't helpful and choices on all items are very limited compared to other stores around town. read more

4.30.17 visited the store around 5:30pm seeking bathroom storage cabinets that we had viewed online. After we located a salesperson, a gentlemen, in the furthest isle near bathroom fixtures. Our perception...we were totally interrupting him. "We don't carry them in store, order on line and have them come by UPS to your house." He never even looked up from his go back cart to even look at us or the photo of the item we were looking for. I did thank him and then I took it back. Why was I thanking him? He didn't have time to acknowledge my husband or myself, let alone entertain the idea that we were asking for customer service. Very disappointing when we could shop Home Depot (same block) or drive to Crowder's. I, myself am in customer service and this attitude is why brick and mortar are becoming a thing of the pass. read more

I guess I will comment on the service.....the employees didn't greet us when we entered even though they had about 6 workers near the door, but once in the isles a employee happily pointed us in the right direction. This is the worst company I've ever had to deal with in regards to a delivery purchased from Lowe's. There were FIVE missed appointments from Lowe's in regards to a delivery. This was not anything to do with me the customer. This was miscommunication on Lowes part which was confirmed by the store manager as far as scheduling dates and times when I confirm numerous times with Lowe's when someone would be home. I as the customer had to spend hours upon hours speaking to Lowe's and their delivery department in regards to scheduling a delivery when someone would be home which was missed 5 days in a row. I had to take off work not being paid in order to wait for this delivery which never occurred when said it would be. I am a very dissatisfied customer and I will never deal again with Lowe's in the future. read more

I really like this store. It is way cleaner and easier to find things than Home Depot. I find every time I go the people are very helpful. I always get good service. I don't see what the reviewers who say this store is dirty see because I find it very clean. I find Home Depot very messy and confusing so I deliberately come here because its just plain easier to shop. read more

Nightmare experience trying to replace a moen shower cartridge and Lowes was the worst of all!!Two days with no water waiting on a plumber,,,When he got to my house to install the new cartridge he stated it was defective and needed to be returned,,,went to lowes and waited in the line and was told I would get a store credit since I could not find the receipt ,,I thought OK thats fine I will be able to get another cartridge to replace the defective new one but THEN after telling me I would get a store credit she said NO ,,,we cant do this without a receipt,,,!!! WTF,,,I just bought this the day before,,,I had to go to Home Depot and purchase another new cartridge, and have to eat the one from Lowes ,,,,,Unfortunately two days of trouble with something that should be simple but Lowes made it that much more of a nightmare,,, at the end of the day..go somewhere else,,,Customer service is lacking at this store! read more

Terrible customer service. The manager of this store should be ashamed of themselves. I would be embarrassed. I have never received much help at this store and today was no different. I have a grill that is not very old (less than 6 months, but more than 90 days), almost new looking. The guy working in that area was rude and gave terrible advice. I explained the problem with my grill. He was eager to find out it was over 90 days old. All of a sudden, there was no way he could help me, etc. I asked what I should do with it, he said, "you could scrap it". Are you kidding me? What about directions on how to contact the manufacturer since it is still under warranty?!?! Maybe a customer service number to hand out or look up?!? Scrap it? Yeah, thanks bud... (It likely just needs a new gas regulator that could be sent to me. I get home and can't find a Master Forge customer service number anywhere online...) Then when going to customer service to see if they could look up the reciept (I had the model # and credit card I used to buy it with). The lady, never stood up, looked at me like I must be crazy for wanting a little help. Says, "I can't look it up over 90 days, you'd be better off going home and looking it up online yourself". Went into Lowes to buy carpet, found the carpet I wanted, could not find any to order it for me, waited 30 minutes for someone to arrived. Talked to two employees who did not assist me. just spent the time talking to each other, Then I went to the Service Desk and was told the person in the carpet dept. was busy spotting for a forklift driver. I then asked for a supervisor . The employee called someone and hung up never informing me if someone responding. I waited while she waited on customers with returns. I final got agitated enough to leave. Totally poor management in the place which leads to poor service to the customer. went to look for a replacement dishwasher. Did my "due diligence" with consumer reports. Looked over the available models and did not see the model I wanted. A saleman name of Dennis was available to talk. He did an outstanding job of pointing out the features while not trying to sell me any one in particular. We looked at the model I was interested in on his computer and then made a decision on a another one. Sold, paperwork, done scheduling lined up, I was impressed with his patience and knowledge and was happy with the purchase. read more

Don't trust delivery date and time promises. My wife purchased a refrigerator Tuesday and was told it would be delivered Wednesday and she would be called to let her know the approximate time. The call came for sure only to inform her the refrigerator was left off the truck and wouldn't be delivered until Thursday. The excuse - it couldn't be located. I asked where was the delivery manager at the time to make certain every delivery scheduled for Wednesday was on the truck? Chris,that's the delivery manager, told me the item was there, but the salesman, Dave, didn't pull it so the independent delivery service could put it on the truck. So now, after emptying the food from refrigerator we're replacing into ice packed coolers to help make the transition more efficient we're being forced to wait another day. That is "if" the new refrigerator can be set out for delivery. read more

I called 5/27/2016 to speak to some in the window treatment department. Press "0" for the operator and waited while the phone rang for 4 minutes. Customer service answered and forward the call to the window treatment dept. After ringing for 25 to 30 times, someone picked up the phone (I could hear conversations in the background) and the phone was hung up. I called back and again pressed "0" for the operator. After 3 minutes of ringing I hung up. Guess they don't want the business. I'm going to HD. read more

I ordered an electric range at the Bradenton store on Cortez and 14th. street West. It was scheduled to be delivered in 10 days. We had totally remodeled our kitchen and donated all the old appliances, so waiting 10 days without a stove was a long time. However, we were willing to wait until 5/25/18. We had received a text message stating that the range would be delivered between 1pm and 5pm. When the range was not delivered by 5, I called the delivery company. They told me that they were running behind, but we were next and they were only 15 minutes away. Come 6pm, we called again and were informed that the delivery driver had driven his limit of hours, so would not be receiving our electric range until the 26st. and again we would have to wait around for their 4-hour delivery time window. I immediate called Lowes, explained what happened and requested that our order be cancelled. The person on the phone was polite, understanding, and stated that we would be refunded our purchase price. I'll have to see how fast that refund will arrive. Jon P. read more

After purchasing a fixer up and reviewing products at both major home remodel centers I found items at both that I found I needed. The customer service between the two are like night and day. It's unbelieveable to me that people with such terrible attitudes still have a job. I'm talking about Lowe's. I wouldn't want quite a few of the people there representing my company with the way they treated me or didn't pay attention. I changed my mind on one item at the register after deciding against it last minute. I apologized to the gal and said I didn't want it after all. She said" Can you take it back." I said "no". I was taken aback and turned my cart and I did put it back. But was steaming mad, the nerve. Plus I had spent over an hour in the store and needed to move onward. I didn't let it settle and called the main headquarters about it. That wasn't the only incident, I've had several but that was the filler on the nail so to speak for me to complain. I normally dont write reviews but was very much compelled to after the rude service I received from the store recently. I went into the store at 8:50PM ten minutes before they closed, and had a few items me and my wife wanted to look at. I Asked one of the assosciates about where to find an item at 8:55PM and was told where it was and that they were closing in five minutes. We had gathered a couple items to purchase and my wife went to the register about 9:05PM to checkout and I went back to tile area to find something really quick while my wife was in line. I was told by an associate by the name of Don Strickland as I asked him a question he said rudely "we are closed". I Have also had bad experience from this store in past. This is why HOme Depot in Bradenton is always my first choice for any home improvement as they have stressed to their staff the value of customer service and they also stay open till 10PM Mon thru Sat. I told Don strickland my wife is at the checkout and I was grabbing an item. My wife also received rude feedback another associate. In years of going to Sams Club after hundred times making it under the wiring at closing time I have never had associates so rude to tell me we are closing. I will be calling this store mananger and the corporate office. BUYER BEWARE If you expect customer service do not expect it at this store. I have no conncection to Home depot but they have definitely stressed to their employees the value of customer service, apparently with Lowes they don't.. read more
