8.3.23 Came in to return to items we did not need. Of course the customer service are had a line. No biggie. Use to it. The associate helping me at CS was really nice and did my return quickly and away I went. I headed to appliances now. I need to buy a new dryer. My dryer is 1-2 yrs old and works fine BUT, it's gas and our new house does not have gas(unfortunately) So here I go looking for the electric dryer to match my washer. BONUS I found it and it was on SALE! Even better. $370 cheaper than I was expecting. Time to do my happy dance. The associate named Brandy who helped me in appliances was a rockstar! She knew exactly what I needed, gave me delivery info. and was just really helpful. Way to go Brandy. You and Laura at the appliance dept. in Cypress, TX are ROCKSTARS! A couple weeks ago I was in town and had to go to Lowes about 4 times in 3 days for various products. Eh, it's Lowes... you know? I don't have a dog in the whole Lowes vs Home Depot fight. I know some people are die hard in one direction or the other and of course, this will vary by the quality of locations and staff. My opinion is that home improvement is expensive in general, regardless of where you go. I did not find anything that I have purchased elsewhere to be wildly more expensive here. In fact, on several of my trips I came across some items that were definitely cheaper here. There were several products that I had not seen anywhere else, but I did find them expensive for what they were. For example, when purchasing a new shovel I saw the most adorable kid size shovel to the right of the full size ones. Oh my God, too cute!! How cute, you may ask? Well, when you consider the actual usefulness of a child with a shovel, I would say it was $5-6 cute... not $17.98 cute. I spent a majority of my time in the garden center (on the left hand side of the store), but did spend time in the main store and had pretty different experiences. I did not even go near the lumber department on the right hand side or talk to anyone about on site quotes or delivery, so I cannot comment on how this location does in those areas. My time in the main store was pretty quick- things like paint, staple guns and shovels. I did not notice any supply shortages or empty aisles as I walked through the store. I did find the layout and signage intuitive enough to find what I needed pretty quickly. Between all my visits I saw a lot of employees scattered throughout the store, usually at a distance, except for checkout. I found it nearly impossible to get assistance while looking around. Any employee I saw was purposefully walking in the opposite direction very quickly or was already walking with a customer. Nobody that made eye contact with me greeted me, smiled or offered assistance. It's not a super welcoming vibe- not while your trying to catch up to an employee, nor when you get the answer. Nobody was rude, but nobody was helpful or happy to be (presumably) interrupted to point you in a direction. The two times I checked out in the main store, both cashiers were polite and efficient. I spent the bulk of my time in the garden center, and that's why this rating is 4 stars instead of 3 stars. Their garden center is well laid out and has an excellent selection. The garden soil here was much cheaper for the quality than I had been able to find anywhere else! The staff in this section is also much more helpful and willing to greet you or ask if you need assistance. It's a much calmer experience than shopping in the main store. They also have several types of shopping carts to simplify transporting different types and sizes of items. I love it! While I had good experiences with several employees in this section, Jason was a real super star! We found the garden soil we were looking for, and found the 2 cubic feet bags were not much more than the 1 cubic feet bags. This was excellent as we only needed 9 bags instead of 18 and we saved a lot of money! As we located this item and were double checking the prices, Jason approached us and asked if we needed any help. We assured him we found what we needed and started to load several bags onto a cart. Jason asked about the quantity we needed and informed us we could save our backs and he could have it ready at the side of the garden center for us to pick up. Wait... what? Yep, all you have to do is inform the cashier of the exact product you want, bring 1 and give a quantity or take a picture of the tag and provide a quantity. Once you pay, they radio for someone to load it up and have it ready. Since we already had 2 bags loaded, we did a little more shopping and then easily had the cashier add the additional 7 bags in the system. By the time we got to the vehicles and loaded up what was in our cart and drove to the left side of the garden center, Jason already had the cart ready and even loaded up our vehicles for us! You can do the same thing with grass, landscaping rocks or any of the other products they sell in that section! That's such a great service, it improved my overall opinion of the company! Lowe's customer service is okay until you buy something and that's when it stops. i bought a washer/dryer from cs lowes and the washer never worked. I bought it around Jan of 24 fast forward to now and it still doesnt work and after whirlpool told them to submit a return authorization they still won't replace the washer. it's a vicious circle of corporate Americas greed and worship of the almighty dollar. between Lowe's whirlpool and Paul's appliance greed for money bottom line. the manager who is shielded finally spoke with me after talking to countless people in this store and followed up with me 2 days after our conversation a flat out called me a liar. cs Lowe's will look you in the face and tell you what you want to hear but after the sale that ends and their true identity comes out. read more

I went in to purchase window blind Thursday April 19th 2023 what a disappointment after waiting 25 minutes and 4 overhead pages no representative showed up. I left the store drive to Home Depot not only were the blinds less expensive (saved $468) they had a representative there immediately. Customer service is something to be desired. The staff doesn't answer their phones and when they finally do they put you on hold. You want information? You are better off going to a fortune teller because they will be more helpful. Worst communication I've experienced to-date. My stove delivery was rescheduled four times and no information was provided as to when I could expect it. Want to plan your day around delivery? Forget it. Again, that fortune teller would provide better information. Steer clear of ordering anything from this store that requires delivery. Or, plan on wasting and exorbitant amount of your time. read more

The service in the store was phenomenal. All of the sales associates and managers were helpful and patient, answering all of my questions fully and getting back to me when they didn't know an answer. However, beware of installation services. They insisted on installing my wall oven by hard-wiring it into a junction box. Two electricians and the person in College Station who is responsible for electic code enforcement said that this is against the national electric code and the College Station electrical code due to the inability to disconnect the appliance in an emergency. Lowe's installers refused to install my oven after I had a licensed electrician (which the installers are not) connect a power cord with a plug connector even though I had paid for and scheduled the installation and they would have needed to do no electrical work to install it. Beware! Hard wiring these appliances is not safe and is against code in both Bryan and College Station. read more

Went into the store April 22 to buy a new front door and explained I was in a hurry because I was selling my home; bought an in-stock door on April 24 to "speed up installation". It took 10 days to get an appointment to sign a contract and then what the agent said would happen, didn't and I couldn't get the contractor to respond for nearly 3 weeks. Four more days to get someone out to remeasure (he arrived more than 2 hours late--no apology); another 10 days to assign a project coordinator 1,000 miles away, and finally a week later, the door was installed--workers were suppose to be here between 11-1; they showed up at 5 p.m. Throughout, the contract negotiator would not return phone calls or give an estimation of when the work would be performed. I complained to the Asst Manager, "Heather" who was nonresponsive: would not commit to when the work would be done or when the contract negotiator would respond; she never followed-up. I called the contract negotiator 3 times after our meeting on April 29; I never received a call back to explain what was happening...only vague, smug emails. I was quoted $250 in the store to install; it cost $475--it took nearly 3 weeks to get an itemized receipt--it still doesn't make sense. I will never ask Lowe's to work for me again! read more

Store staff is super nice and helpful, there's just not enough of them! The systems are not set up for them to operate efficiently and they need help. Every time I call, I am put on hold for 30-40 minutes and get transferred all over the place. When I leave messages, no one ever returns the call. I've talked to the store manager, assistant store manager, and every person in the flooring department regarding an install that should have been super simple - the carpet was in stock for goodness gracious! It's sad, I really like Lowes but the store staff is struggling. When I went into the store, the scanners at checkout didn't even work. It must be super frustrating to work there. read more

We paid Lowe's (College Station) for replacement windows and labor to replace them on 4/14. I read reviews that mentioned terrible issues with orders, quality of windows as well as faulty labor, etc. I called our salesman before signing the contract with my concerns. He reassured me that things would go smoothly. Signed contract, paid, was assured that windows would be in and installed by 5/23. Was contacted on 5/25 from Lowe's rep to see if I had heard from anyone from their installer about installation date. I told them no so they said they would give them until the following Tuesday even though the written agreement from Lowe's was that they would have one week from windows arriving at Lowes (5/14) to contact me to schedule installation. Lowes reached out on 5/30 to see if I had heard from anyone. I told them no so they said they would give them 2 more days. I said I would contact my credit card company about cancelling the order. I received a call later that afternoon from the installer who booked an install date of 6/13. I then waited for Lowes to call to arrange delivery....per their written instructions. I had to reach out to them after several days of not hearing from anyone. They were totally unaware that the job had been scheduled. They scheduled delivery for 6/12, from 8-12. It is 3 pm as I type this and windows are not delivered. Whatever you do, DO NOT go to Lowe's for replacement windows. My friend used a local company and has had her windows installed for at least 2 weeks now. I also realized after speaking to others (after signing the contract) that Lowe's price is higher and quality is lower. read more

This Lowe's is seriously understaffed but my mother and I recently went in looking for a fire pit. A cashier named Gabby couldn't be inconvenienced enough to show us where the fire pits would be. Very understaffed. It's almost impossible to get any assistance. Those that are there maybe one or two actually try to help. We had a really bad experience here today. There were too many staff members huddled around talking and playing with their phones, and when we asked for help we were brushed off and ignored. We were purchasing a 200lb+ item, which isn't easy to load on to a cart As an employee watched us load it by ourselves, he grabbed me by the shirt and told me not to touch that because it could fall and injure me; leaving my husband with a bad back to do it by himself as the employee walked away. We had to ask multiple times to have it loaded into our truck, and we waited as one staff member played on his phone, and the other flirted with a female shopper. After all, they reluctantly loaded the item with a negative demeanor and did not speak to us once. The employees that contributed to this negative experience were: Thomas, Samuel, William, and an older Hispanic male that we did not catch the name of. We will gladly be taking our business to Home Depot from now on. read more

Lowe's in College Station is a good store. The management and employees are a different story. I stood in the appliances for 15 minutes and never saw an employee. I actually had to call the store from inside the store to get someone to me. I'm trying to give hundreds of dollars for a refrigerator and couldn't find help. Did not buy there. More recently I was looking for a faucet part and again could not find any help. Some kid wearing a Lowe's vest walked right buy me talking on his phone acting like I wasn't even there. Finally an older gentleman came back pushing a cart and I asked him "Is anybody working here?" He replied yeah, me, I'll be with in a minute and disappeared in the back. Even more recently I was entering the store following a Lowe's employee pushing a cart back to the store. Once inside she met up with two other heavy set female employees and they just stated chatting. Never acknowledging me or any other customers. And while checking out the girl acted like she wanted to anywhere else but there and I tried make polite conversation but she never made eye contact and jus handed me my bag without so much as a thank you. They need to work on staffing and customer service big time! BTW, I went to Home Depot which is half way across town and they greeted me and walked me straight to the part I needed. Went shopping with my grandmother to purchase items for the "Shelter-in-Place" order placed on Brazos County. After purchasing our items, we overheard a manager tell multiple cashiers to not inform any of their customers about the veteran's discount (which is 15% off) and instead push Lowe's own credit card service (which is only 10% off!)! It's absolutely appalling that management can get away with this in a time of crisis, I understand making money but to push your own branding over people who served to protect your freedom is atrocious! Great customer support on the floor, staff in the floor is knowledgeable and are always very helpful. But the service is equally bad at the customer service desks, in my almost going there 20+ times I have never not even once encountered an employee behind the customer service desk that was pleasant and had a smile on their face. read more

We are doing a kitchen renovation roughly $50K. We paid $75.00 to Lowe's on August 18 to come out and look at the job and give an estimate. The design specialist and one contractor have come out. We ultimately asked four different companies for job quotes and have received three from other contractors but still have not received the estimate from Lowe's. Today, Oct 01 our renovation project started. I am very disappointed in Lowe's especially since I had to pay them to come to the house and then completely blow us off. They have nice shiny things to sell but I do not recommend using (try to use) them for the work to be done. read more

Unlike our new HEB, Lowe's recognized the potential on this side of BCS by adding a location that meets the needs of the area. This store is awesome. They keep it very clean and the employees are eager to help. I used to be a home depot fan, but frankly, this place is just better. When you need help, an employee is much more prompt than what I've experienced at Home Depot. Their return policy leaves nothing to be desired. They are also pet friendly for dogs on a leash, which makes my pup happy. read more

Finally a guy comes over, he knows what he's doing but looks like he's been running for days. He was sweaty and super exhausted. That poor gentleman is being worked to death. Great place to find all your home repair items Service is great and staff or friendly. If they don't have it in stock, they will look online and help order it or you. There is a huge selection of name brand appliances, all sorts of things that you probably don't need but certainly adds to your home, apartment or ranch. Plenty of parking and lots of check out lanes. read more

You have to constantly hound the delivery team to try to get updates on deliveries, only to find out there are delays they should have know about and relayed to you. Management at this location is nonexistent. There continues to be the same few employees busting their asses with seemingly no support. Running my own business ,I can see the problem clearly. The few dedicated staff do not have the resources necessary to provide what customers expect. I can't get same day delivery like I do elsewhere & the prices do not compare to competitors. It seems they are never appropriately staffed. There is always a wait to have materials loaded & usually some random truck is parked in the loading zone to further the delay. The only reason I continue to shop here is the location & the dedication of the direct few people I deal with here. They try their best to give me the best possible price & best possible service they can provide with what they have to work with. As a corporation,Lowe's is trash. I am actively trying to recruit the few dedicated employees to work for my company & kiss Lowe's sorry ass goodbye. read more

I've been to the Bryan location as well as the college station one. To say the least i was not satisfied. I recently had damage done to a faucet at my house, so i went to lowe's. I was impressed with the selection but it wasn't until i was leaving the store that problems started happening. The cashier seemed to be having a bad day and when asking her if she was okay she just ignored me. As i went out to my car i noticed the parking lot wasn't very clean either and it kinda bothered. Had i not had wonderful service in Bryan i probably wouldn't have written this review. Next time i will just make the drive to the other location so that i leave happy. read more

The Lowe's at this locations is fantastic! I think I have spent more time there recently than I'd care to admit because of a remodel but the customer service is great! I had recently bought some paint and while they did not exactly get the lid of tight and it spilled in my vehicle, they reimbursed me the can of paint and apologized profusely. When I assured them I was able to get the paint out, I could hear a sigh of relief coming from the manager. He was fantastic and handled it like a pro! This is my favorite Lowe's because the people are so nice and since I've been in there so much, they seem to remember me (even before the paint incident). read more

I've come by multiple times in the last few weeks and they rarely have what I need (thus the other trips). Looking for simple plastic flower pots and stuff to hang them on a fence with. Staff is relatively friendly but fight over who will check who out (because no one actually wants to work). Also tried to have a key copy made stood at the counter with 'help needed at the *whatever* desk' for almost ten minutes sounding throughout the store. This employee that finally came to help? Standing not 30 feet from the desk on his phone the whole time..... SO UNPROFESSIONAL. It is worth the drive down Highway 6 to Home Depot for sure. read more

Terrible experience. My girlfriend and I went there on a Sunday to gather a few things for a project and needed a little help finding an item. We asked not one not two not three but four different employees for help finding it and every one just said I don't know and walked away.
