So I went to check out with what little I had, and every single register was self checkout, so I went through the garden checkout instead. I had a really good experience and I just wanted to make sure that people know how honest the employees are here. I went over to Lowe's Home Improvement for a part I needed and they didn't have it, but the employee at the front of the store looked it up on his phone and gave me some other options in the area. I've never seen another business do that because normally businesses don't help their competition. Their staff put my needs first, even though they weren't going to get any money out of it. That actually makes me want to go back to their store when I do need something else in the future. Other businesses should learn from that model. That's a rare thing in this day and age. I also called the manager to let them know how courteous their employees are and they told me they get comments like that about their staff regularly so it's not an anomaly. Their staff is really helpful and will help you get what you need even if they don't carry what you need themselves. I have always enjoyed shopping here. They have a higher quality of products than their counterpart down the street. There's tons of parking here. You will never lack for parking. They refused to take it back and give me not even a store credit for these items. My wife had purchased this product with cash which they accepted and apparently they cannot find a phone number attached to this purchase I had to load the eight bags back up and take them back home. So, let me tell you about the complete clusterfuck that is Lowe's Home Improvement. The thing that most needs improvement is their customer and delivery services. Talk about the right hand not knowing what the left one is doing, my delivery (of a dryer) took 3 attempts. 1-I was given a window of 11-2 for the delivery and when 2:15 rolled around I called and was told that the delivery was not happening today and "didn't anyone call you?" No they did not. 2-I rescheduled for the following Monday, and explained that I was away for that weekend. Saturday night at 8pm I receive a phone call telling me my delivery will be there tomorrow morning (Sunday). I call and explain again that I am not home which is why I scheduled it for Monday. "Okay." 3-Sunday morning I get a call from delivery saying "we're here can you open the door?" No I can't because, as explained, I'm not home. I call again and am told there are 2 deliveries scheduled, one for Sunday and one for Monday. Clearly a screwup. 4-Monday arrives and the truck pulls up, the guys get out, lower the back of the truck, disappear inside for a moment and reappear with an embarrassed look. The dryer had not been loaded onto the truck, so I need to reschedule. Again! 5-I receive a phone call at work on Tuesday, that my rescheduled delivery for Wednesday cannot happen because they are out of 3 prong outlet attachments. Really??!! On Wednesday morning I visit Lowe's and find dozens of 3 prong adapters, and when the warehouse was checked, it shows 8000 in stock. So, that call I got on Tuesday was a lie. Also, considering the total fiasco that this had become, wouldn't it have been appropriate to physically pick up the needed adapter either from another Lowe's or (god forbid) a Home Depot, just to finalize the delivery and placate the customer? I have taken 3 days off from work, and spent many hours telling and retelling this nightmare. I have been told that Lowes now subcontracts their deliveries to another company, in order to streamline the process. It is clearly not working. I have asked to speak to supervisors and/or someone further up the chain and have been told that someone will get back to me in 24 hours, multiple times. NO ONE CALLS BACK!! I was promised an "appeasement"'of 10% (which hasn't happened yet), but honestly, with all the time lost at work, I could have purchased this dryer twice over. I have purchased multiple appliances at Lowe's in the past and will be taking my business elsewhere as well as taking to social media to share my experience. I, too, am a business owner and know the proper way of taking care of my customers. Do NOT disregard my complaints, do NOT ignore me in the hope that I will just go away, I will not! The other day I did speak to a representative who told me 10% is all he could do, but said I could return the dryer, now being used for a few weeks. So, I asked him, you would rather I return this item, which will then be put up for sale in the scratch and dent section of the store at a decent discount, rather than offering me that discount, for my substantial inconveniences. I was told yes, that's the way it's done. The first few months we were settling into our Connecticut house, it felt like we were here every weekend. We got a lot of miscellaneous stuff for the house including toolkits, hardware, lightbulbs, lamps, nightstands, cleaning supplies, filters, ceiling fans...you name it, we bought it. The biggest challenge was often seeing if they had stuff in stock. A few times if we needed something right away, we had to go to Norwalk to get it, but for the most part, we are able to get everything we need here. I like the selection and when you can find a staffer to help you, they're good. The website said they had 50 of a lightbulb we wanted but we couldn't find it where the app said it was. Two different people got the big steps out to look up and down and all over but they couldn't find it (apparently they'd just done some moving of stock). So even though they couldn't find it, they were very helpful. I think we ended up getting the bulbs in East Rutherford, NJ. The checkout lines can be long and confusing when the store is crowded and picking up stuff can be a long wait as well at the customer service desk. But if you go off hours it's not too bad. We picked up some gas for the grill a couple of weeks ago and only had to wait about 10 minutes at that point. I enjoy this Lowe's. read more

This store ruined my son-in-law's Father's Day. They sold my daughter a damaged grill. When she first tried to return it or get a replacement part, they were great. They offered a full return or exchange. She chose to exchange as the hood was bent. She decided to let Lowe's assemble it and deliver it today. They waited around all day(my son-in-law took half a day off of work.) no grill came. After trying to call and getting no response for almost 45 minutes she finally got a hold of one of their less experienced employees, Robin. She was unhelpful, abrupt, and rude. When my daughter said she was taking her business someplace else she said "fine go". I understand this is a stressful time post Covid, but they ruined his Father's Day. That was her gift to him. Now they are without a grill, upset and now searching for a store that has better customer service. Lowe's corporate should be aware of how their front line employees are treating paying customers. Lowe's cabinets are garbage! I have been installing cabinets for many decades, and the latest cabinets I have gotten for Lowe's are falling apart right out of the box. Then the next person got on the forklift drove away and then decided to walk through another exit. Then they closed the aisle in the back where I was getting the stones. Went to Danbury Lowe's to buy 4'x8' x1/2" plywood and to have them cut it for me. When I was there , the lumber area was pretty empty. I picked a piece of plywood, and dragged it to the area where they cut the wood. I had a cart, but somehow it disappeared. As I'm dragging the piece, the guys who work there watched me. None of them offered any help. So I get the wood to the cutting area and ask the young kid to cut it in 16" squares. The power saw they use is made to handle 4'x8' sheets of wood. I expected to get 10 square pieces, the other pieces would be different because of sheet size. I left the wood with the cutter and went to get some other stuff while he was cutting. When I got back there was an older guy helping him and two other employees watching. The older guy had a personality like a dead cat. I got the feeling he wasn't too happy cutting my lumber. He would hand me the cut lumber, I thanked him, he grunted. I get home and start my project, but something is off. They cut the pieces smaller than 16", and not square. Measure once cut once, The store has a 1,000 tape measurers , use one of them! read more

I will never buy another major appliance from Lowes again. All our major appliance purchases over the past 30 years have been from Home Depot. I thought I would give Lowes a chance since they had a great price for an LG washing machine. First hint of trouble. I called our local Lowes. First 3 calls - no one in Appliances answered the phone. On fourth call I spoke with an appliance employee and asked if the LG washing machine I wanted to buy was at the store (web site informed me it was). He told me no and I would have to check the web site to order (I would later go to the store to buy a washing machine pan only to see the LG washer on display). I ordered the washing machine online and schedule delivery. I had two choices; same day or 7 days later. As installation charges were no clear on the site, I called Lowes Customer Service. After over an hour on hold I spoke with customer service and was informed there was no charge. As we got closer to the delivery date, I called Customer Service again (and after more than an hour on hold - again) I was told the same thing. I asked if anything additional was required for the installation and was told no (not true). On delivery day the truck arrives and the man in charge asks me if I have new connector hoses. I didn't as we have almost new steel mesh ones. I was informed he could not install the washing machine due to "liability issues". He called his supervisor and I was informed my only option was to purchase new hoses. I asked if the delivery man could guide me through the installation and was informed he could if he wanted to. Thankfully the delivery man took pity on me and gave me new hoses. Washing machine was installed and we love it. I would rate the LG washing machine as a 10, the delivery company a 10 and Lowes a ZERO. IN the future, the only thing I will ever purchase from Lowes again is mulch - and only when it's $2.00 a bag. read more

I come to this location from NY bc the staff is helpful, their selection is great and they are always fully stocked with what I need. I prefer Lowes over Home Depot any day and wish they would open one closer to me in Westchester!!!! A bonus for me is getting 5% off every time I use my lowes credit card. HORRID Customer service!!! Mediocre to very bad delivery services!! We are renovating an apartment and our delivery of cabinets and vanities was terrible. We have spent thousands at this store and deserve better (as does every customer). We ordered 2 bathroom vanities and only one was delivered. We asked why and was told that they ran out. Nobody called us to tell us. Parts for kitchen cabinets were not with the cabinets so we could not fully install them. The stove/range had a dent and they said we could get a discount. But the store has not record of it. The night before delivery we called to see if our estimated time 9am - 1:30pm could be moved to after 11am (we were 3 hours away) - they said no. They asked if we wanted a text the day of delivery. We said yes. Day of delivery we got on the road at 5:30 am in order to be at the location by 9am. By 1:30pm nobody had showed up. We called the delivery service and were told we were NOT on the list to receive a delivery. We had the text saying we were getting a delivery. Delivery guys got lost, we said we would meet them in our car and take them to the location - they made us wait while they got McDonalds food. They delivered it finally and we found McDonald wrappers in our driveway. We called the Lowe's in Danbury to try to straighten things out and got the same woman twice, she hung up on us. Twice. We asked her name SHE said "Andy" I feel they are only in business because they are convenient. VERY disappointed. Our renovation job is now behind schedule. read more

My experience- HELL. They are so unprofessional & have no idea what they're doing. I picked laminate floors for my new home which they said would take 48 hours for a quote after they did the measurements at my house- NEVER GOT A CALL. I went in the store to ask since I had not heard back and they couldn't even find the paper work. They mumbled around & gave me a quote as I waited , told me it would take a week for the floors to be in and they'd call me once they got them. I spent $3,300 that day on the floors. A young man named cliff helped me ( very knowledge and helpful man) he's the only reason I made the purchase through them, it was no longer in his hands after the home appointment. It's now been over a week & I've been calling and going in to check on the status and everyone has been giving me the run around telling me different things such as; "We can't track them" "We got the tiles in" (which I didn't even purchase tiles.) "They will be here the 6th" I go in the store and they tell me "We've had them in the store for 3 days" Ive rescheduled my bedroom sets and all furniture 4x because they have no idea what they're doing. The delivery service from this store is the worse ever. I was supposed to get delivered a washing machine and dryer. First the washer was damage, before plugging in the machine, it was already filling out with water. Ok, understandable. When it comes to install the dryer, the guy was putting the big pipe where the heat comes out of the machine. He put tape around the ends, I was like "tape?, why don't you used the claws or a nail or a screw?" His answer was "because this is a special tape". I was ok, he is the expert. Once these people(who were on a rush by the way) pull out the garage , the pipe felt. I literally run after them and wave for them to come back. Long story short they add more tape and left. Sooooo, yes, it felt again while using it and I have to call for a new service. These people waste your time so they may be cheaper but you will end up paying more. We decided to go to Lowe's (danbury, ct) and what a difference. The minute we walked into the paint section, the sales associate Gabriela asked us how she could help us. We pick out paint samples, and while waiting looked around the paint section. Once again she asked if she could help us find something. What great customer service. The workers are friendly, knowledgeable and willing to help unlike those at the other store down the street. All supplies are good quality and in stock. We went in to accomplish two things - research hardwood floors and buy home automation products. The person at floors had very little knowledge and definitely was not helpful. I will be buying my hardwood floors somewhere else. Next I walked around looking for home automation - could not find what I was looking for so asked the guy stocking the light bulb section. I had such a bad experience with Lowes, I thought it was a joke. We purposely purchased carpet from their store because they had it on rolls that you can just choose from and have it cut. So since they have the carpet already in stock, then why the hell would the employees call us and say that it still isn't ready 6 days later. If I could give this company a lower rating I would. From my local store to the reps on the phone they were all unhelpful. I ordered a bunch of products last weekend to get some home renovations done. I was told everything would be delivered Friday, 5/12 between the hours of 12p.m. - 4p.m. I called the store the day before to confirm my delivery. The first phone call I was on hold for almost an hour before I was hung up on. The second phone call I was on hold for about 30 mins. So I decided to go to the store while I was on hold. The lady that helped me in the store was very nice. While she was helping me, she saw that someone was on hold on the store phone for a long time. When she asked her co-workers who has been on hold I told her it was me on the other end. By that time I was on hold for another 40 mins. She apologized and confirmed my delivery for Friday. Friday came and nobody showed up at my house. I call the local store again and was on the phone for another 30-40 minutes. They told me that my delivery was pushed back a day because when the delivery person came to pickup the order, it was not ready for them. At this point I was highly upset because nobody from Lowe's had notified me about the changI already told my contractor that everything was going to be at my house Friday so he could do the work Saturday. He made time in his schedule to do the work but now that the stuff is not going to be at the house on time, I have to wait another 4 weeks for him to do the work because he has other jobs lined up. When I explained this to the store it was like they did not care. All they told me was that they can make a note for early delivery the next day but there was no guarantee on what time all would be delivered. Other than that they said that there was nothing they can do. I then called corporate and AGAIN I was on hold for ANOTHER 45 minutes. I spoke to an agent and his manager and all they were able to do was write a complaint to the store and the store has to handle it; which means nothing is going to get done. Although I live 10 minutes from a home depot, I find myself driving the extra 20 minutes to go to Lowes. The staff here are incredible and have really gone out of their way to help you. I had a guy named Bruce follow me around with advice and pointers on everything from painting to caulking and just about any question I had. The layout is huge, but easy to navigate and the prices are comparable to Home Depot. If I needed to work on a project, I'd go to lowes. If I needed to pick up something quick and didn't need help, I'd go to home depot. read more

Staff in the appliance area on Saturday evening, (June 12th) was nothing short of outstanding... I explained the need for an immediate new refrigerator for an elderly woman whose current refrigerator failed and was very anxious (medications for her and her daughter - both on substantial medications). The staff literally walked me around isles of displays checking for any in stock, and/or immediate delivery. Even went the extra mile and placed us in for emergency delivery... I cant thank this staff enough, especially the manager and her lead staff woman.... read more

I bought a grill ensemble online to pick up at the Danbury location I called the store to ask if this grill was available no Problem we have over 23 of these grills available. I come to pick up the grill drive 45 minutes when I get in I am told that they do not have it ensemble. Bob "the manager"very condescending and full of himself totally unhelpful and unwilling to help me he says next week we can have it ready for you I ask what day of next week . The Bob very condescending says I don't know what day I can have it ready for you. I do not understand how you manager knowing that this is a big weekend you don't even have but three small ensemble grills bad business. Horrible customer service. Don't show up to this store expecting anything but headaches I want to thank Lowe's for giving me such a bad service as I went to Home Depot in Danbury and found Kimba The manager, he does care about his customers and gave me excellent service. I would give this store zero stars if I could. The incompetence and apathy is astounding at this store. I have now had two bad experiences at this store and will NEVER shop at this or any other Lowe's again. I would go out of my way to AVOID this store. I ordered a shed at the customer service desk. I was told that it was a special order item and would be approx. 7-10 days out. No problem. About 3 days later (Wednesday), I received a voicemail at 9pm saying my shed was in an would be delivered the next day. I had to scramble to take the day off from work to receive the item. I figured I would use that time to tear down the existing shed that I was replacing. The next morning, I received a call saying that a truck broke down and they may not be able to get the shed to me. They explained that they were going to try and rent a truck to deliver it. Frustrating, but not the end of the world seeing as I had taken the day off. About an hour later, I received another call saying that they were able to rent a truck but when they went to load my shed on it, they realized they didn't have my shed. After looking into it, they explained that the customer service rep that ordered it must have entered the SKU for the "in stock" version rather than the "special order" one. As it was in stock, they assumed they had it and scheduled the delivery. They apologized for the mishap and assured me that they would order the special order item and ask to expedite it. He also agreed to waive the delivery charge but would do so after the shed was delivered so to not disrupt this delivery and cause any more delays. Extremely frustrating as I had just emptied everything out of my existing shed and torn it down. That coming weekend was also supposed to be a nice day so I wanted to have it built. I ended up having to cover all of my things in tarps because it was due to rain before the new delivery date. Fast forward to the next Wednesday. Received another 9pm voicemail saying the shed would arrive the next morning. I again took a day off from work to receive it. The next morning, like clockwork, I received a call saying that "our truck has broken down." At this point, I was no longer buying the excuse. I spoke to a manager named Shilove who assured me he would remedy the situation and that they would get back to me. A couple hours later I received a call from a woman there who asked when I would like the shed delivered. I told her I wanted it today. She gruffly told me that wasn't possible and she had the next Thursday available. When I told her no, that wouldn't work, she asked if there was another day that would work. I told her tomorrow. She said that next Thursday was the earliest availability they had. I asked to speak to Shilove at this point and, upon finding out he was no longer there, asked to speak to the General Manager. A man by the name of George answered the phone. I explained the entire situation again. I asked that he physically locate my shed in his warehouse so that we would know for sure that they actually had it. I even offered to pick it up! I also asked that he call me back within the hour as it was now 5:15p on Thursday. Just before 6:20p I received a call back from George. George assured me that he had the shed in the warehouse. He said they would be able to deliver it next Friday! I said, "Friday now? What happened to Thursday?" He explained that because I didn't confirm Thursday with the woman I spoke to prior, that day was now full. Absolutely ridiculous. He offered few, if any, apologies for the situation. Finally I told him that enough was enough and I no longer wanted the shed. I would go find the shed elsewhere. He sounded almost surprised and asked me to repeat myself. I told him that due to the issues I have had, and the fact that all of my stuff was laying in my yard under tarps, I would rather purchase a shed elsewhere than deal with any more of their issues. He responded with a "sorry to hear that." Finally, I told him that the only way I would accept the shed is with a discount, which he reluctantly agreed to. He partially refunded my credit card that night and I agreed to a delivery the following week. The next morning at around 10:30a, I received a call from a delivery driver saying that he was on his way and would be there within 30mins. Great! Except no one is home to receive it. I again had to scramble to figure this out because I was NOT missing this delivery. I called my 70 year old mother who was babysitting my 1 year old and she had to drive all the way to my house with the baby to meet the delivery man who delivered on my lawn in the rain. My mother then had to go out and purchase tarps (baby in tow) to prevent the pressboard shed from being ruined by the rain. I am now left with damaged belongings and a damp shed due to missed delivery dates. I was also never reimbursed for the delivery fee. read more

Went to return a vanity from a bathroom project that was delayed due to covid. The people in returns did their best to try to accommodate us, but when they called over Jen the manager, she was not helpful at all. She told us to call a number, meanwhile we watched her purchase her own items and leave. She could have brought over another manager to try helping if she was leaving but she did not. This same Lowe's missed two scheduled pick ups for an item that she shipped damaged. Would not recommend this store. read more

I'm nearing the end of my bathroom renovation and I needed to buy a toilet; I wasn't sure what model and dreading, once I made my decision, getting my purchase out to my car. I needn't have worried, Nate, in the plumbing aisle, was terrific! He not only helped me make an informed choice, he loaded it on a cart for me. I was looking for a tool. Online stated 3 in stock. When I got to the store there was another product hanging in place of the product I wanted. I asked an associate who started looking. A few minutes later he asked a second associate who joined the search. They went up and down the tool isle, they scanned the boxes in the overhead shelves, they went in opposite directions checking the end cap displays. I figured they gave up but one associate came back and started a more detailed search of the over head shelves. 3 times he moved the ladder to check and finally found the tool I needed. This is what customer service is all about. I mostly shop HD but will now consider Lowes as my first stop. Thank you! read more

The worst customer service!!! 3 times we've tried shopping in that store. The employees are not very friendly. And they walk right past you. We went to self checkout with over $400.00 of flooring and the the guy was just standing there doing nothing!! He told us to go to a regular check out line. This was self checkout. Why work if you can't check someone out!! So we just left it there!! His problem now and lost our business for good!!! Just scan 1 box X's 7 boxes!! Not hard read more

I recently had called the store asking for help in way of a possible donation for a special little girl who is terminally ill. She was asking for a swing set and/or a power wheels. I had reached out to this store and spoke with a manager named Kathleen. After playing alittle phone tag which is fine. Kathleen had told me she did not have any swingsets in the store but she would donate a $200 gift card for Toys R us towards the power wheels car. This was so wonderful and very exciting. When we spoke she said she needed me to send her an email regarding what the donation was for her to attach it for approval purposes. No problem! She was not getting my emails for some reason so I faxed the information she requested and was under the impression everything was good. When I called her back later in the afternoon she was unavailable. I asked if one of the other managers were available as her birthday party was in 2 days and I was down to the wire to make her wish come true! This is were my disgust comes in! My call was sent to a "Manager" named Bob. I told Bob of my conversation s with Kathleen and asked if he had any information for me as to when and what I had to do to make arrangements to receive the card so I could buy her the gift. His response to me was "Ya!That's not happening!" When I asked what what he meant by that and explained my confusion after my prior conversations. He told me it was denied by corporate and "It's just that simple!". I asked him to have Kathleen please give me a call back as she was a pleasure speak with. He told me there was nothing for me to speak with her about because he already told me "Its just not happening!" Bob was extremely unprofessional in his tone and sarcasm over the phone! I would hope that someone who is supposed to be in charge of a store would have alittle more class. He had no idea who I was or my relationship to this little girl. I am so glad I was not her mother or family member calling. It is very obvious to me that he needs more training in the area of customer relations and professionalism. I can totally understand if the store is unable to make a donation and appreciate the time Kathleen took to speak with me. It was disheartening to find out it was "Just not happening!" In such a rude and uncompassionate way. In the end with out Bob from Lowes. My determination to make her dream come true came through in the end and she had the biggest smile!! *Take note that in the letter I provided I stated if there was any other information needed from me to let me know and i would provide it. read more
