I bought a refrigerator at the Lowe's store in Yorktown. This was the BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE! The first two guys who came to my house had NO IDEA how to install the refrigerator and left the refrigerator in my living room. For two days I was given the run around by Lowe's including spending hours on hold and no one picking up the phone. I had to physically go to the store and demand that someone install my refrigerator. After two days they sent two more guys who FORGOT THEIR TOOLS!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!!! They said that they would come back later in the day to complete the install and NO ONE SHOWED UP and NO ONE CONTACTED US. The next day we had to physically go to the store and demand that someone install our refrigerator. They lied and said that someone would be coming that day. We called the installing company (Spirit Logistics) and Lowe's never called them to schedule the service call. After much headache finally two more guys came to our home and they also HAD NO IDEA how to install the refrigerator. COME ON! REALLY! They hire kids to do the installs who clearly have no training. Not to mention the fact that these multiple people coming in and out of our home destroyed our floors. We told them to take the refrigerator out of our living room and back to the store and demanded a refund. Never again will I do business with this company. Do yourself a favor and don't trust Lowe's. I need the option to give this place zero stars. read more

The store is great, with awesome product variety. BUT DELIVERY SERVICE: this is our 4th large delivery and it ALWAYS is problematic, false information...just a headache of no arrivals, partial deliveries, wasted time. It doesn't reflect the well run store. read more

I bought a Maytag washer machine in December from this Lowes and it turned out to have been installed wrong. There was a problem with connection to the water supply. Once I realized this issue I called Lowes to find little relief. Their customer service was sub-par. I bounced back and forth getting transferred around until someone finally told me they would send a technician to my house within two days. I waited two days during the window of 12-5 PM because I was promised the technician would show up between those hours. The technician didn't show up until almost 7. My washer machine is now fixed but I am mostly writing this review to complain about Lowe's customer service. The people in the store were extremely helpful and the store has a wide inventory, which is the reason for the three stars. I have also visited the store a few times in the past before this experience with little to no problems. Because of that, I am willing to forget about this little frustrating set back and visit them again. read more

The worst shopping experience I've ever had. I came in at 8pm on a weekday to buy materials to build a fence for my garden. There was no one in the lumber dept and when I asked the closest employee for assistance he Just said there was no one in that department right now. I ask if someone else could help me and he put in a half hearted call for someone from another department. 15 minutes later when no one appeared I went to customer service and tried again only to be told that the person who worked in lumber was on lunch for an hour. When I asked if someone else could help me the guy just shrugged. I asked for the manager and the guy who showed up had no more to offer than that the lumber person wasn't there. I left frustrated and angry for having my time wasted. And being treated as if my business was an inconvenience to the staff. I'll never set foot in Lowe's again. read more

This store has the poor customer service. Never ever go to buy any stuff from this store. It happened to me today. I purchased a flower pot. Then I changed my mind to purchase something different. Here is the scenario. Customer sales person refused to exchange and told me to see customer service. It took me 15 minutes to return and the item I need to purchase, he could not make sales. I worked with Lowe's on a kitchen countertop project and everyone was very helpful. Before I signed the contract with Lowe's I got bids from 2 other Danbury firms. Pricewise, Lowe's was the clear winner. Also, the firm they use for fabricating the countertops is very good - Discover Marble and Granite. Also bought a beautiful faucet from Lowes. Only thing they did not have was the granite sink that I wanted and I had to go elsewhere for that. Very happy with the job that Lowes did! read more

This store really does have Horrible customer service. There was no one in the store and I still had to wait 40 min to have my dishwasher brought out from the back. It was a special order. Lucky me. After waiting 40 min, it was brought up to the front and left there on a hand truck. They told me to wait again and that someone will bring it to my truck- I'm not allowed to use the truck. I had to wait again. Not only does no body shop in this store, nobody works there either. After 5 min , took it outside, with the forbidden truck and loaded it. No one cared . No sorry, no going in the back to check what was going on while I was waiting - needless to say, I will not be going back. Man that store is terrible. read more

TERRIBLE! Do not buy any home appliances from Lowes. Worst, worst service. I bought a Samsung dryer 34 days old that doesn't get hot. I call Samsung's customer service for repairs and they give me a number of their repair service that calls me back and says they don't service in my area, this was 2 hours back and forth, holding on the phone. I call Loews wait 2 more days they send a technician that takes the dryer apart down to the drum, about 1 1/2 hrs and he tells me he has to order the part, 2-5 days to be delivered and then I have to make another appt. I said you knew the model number, the serial number the problem that it didn't get hot, you would suspect its a thermostat issue but you didn't bring the part? I was told he had other appointments to get to that day so I'm assuming the technique used is to say I have to order the part and another technician is called to try and fix this. I just bought this dryer and Im out 2 weeks unable to do laundry for an $800 dryer with parts and taxes. Do not buy Samsung Model WF42H5200AF read more

I bought a refrigerator from Lowes and used their delivery. The delivery was originally set up for 1/5/14, we realized we selected the wrong date and we actually wanted 1/4/14 so we went back to the store and they changed it no problem. Got a call on 1/3/14 with a time frame for the delivery, and about 5 minutes before the supposed delivery time we got another call saying the item never came in and would not be in until overnight Sunday. Now it is very hard to believe someone would create a system that called you with a time but there was no product to deliver. I chalked it up to the storm that happened two days earlier. So I set up the new date to 1/11/14. We got a call for the time of 2-4. 4pm comes and goes so I call the store. They are by far the worst to deal with esp when you call the customer service desk, they are useless and know nothing and when you ask for a manager they never pick up they just put you on hold long enough to make you hang up. After being on the phone for over 20 mins the customer service desk (not a manager because they still never picked up) finally found out the delivery company tried to deliver to the wrong address. Now mind you my address is the simplest address that ALL navigation units bring you to the right street and my house and mailbox are clearly marked. So the customer service desk said they would be here within the hour, now that has come and gone and still no refrigerator. I will NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM LOWES AGAIN. UPDATE: I have since had my fridge delivered with damage and the bottom shipping boards were never removed. i called the store and spoke with the manager bob and he offered a new fridge or a credit. I accepted the credit of $150 off. The store has solved all the issues after numerous calls but the headquaters should really look into this whole delivery process because there are tens of thousand of complaints because of them specifically. As well as the customer service desk in the store needs formal training to actually look up delivery information and try to actually perform customer service instead of keeping people on hold. read more

Just recently went in to purchase a new washer. We had plenty of time to research prior so we had lots of info on different washers. The employee in this area was professional, kind, courteous and not pushy. He gave us plenty of time to make a decision. Every question we had, he had an answer. Actually, some of the questions we had, we already knew the answers. He didn't even push the warranty. That is why after checking out many stores we purchased the washer from this Lowe's. I certainly recommend the appliances department at this Lowe's location. I wish I could have remembered the name of the gentleman that helped us. read more

Denise in Appliances is absolutely fantastic!! Our kitchen stove broke and we were a bit overwhelmed at our choices. Many appliance brands have been recently sold or are cutting quality and to save on their expenses and the actual quality of their product is far different than the reputation perceived by the general public. Denise was extremely knowledgeable of overall product quality and features. She knew what brands/models are elite and will last for many years. This also applies to refrigerators and washer and dryers. She listened and answered all of our questions throughly and made an extra effort to ensure we had a new stove delivery in 2 days time. We are sending all of our family and friends to this Lowe's for appliances and for them to talk with Denise!! Also Lowe's warranties are through Lowe's themselves while Home Depot has all the warranties go through a second party. read more

I was on the market for a front door. Shari from millworks was totally unprofessional. Instead of listening to the customer she would talk and interrupt. When she was asked to quote one door, she would quote another and assume me as a customer to commit with her selection. She also caused my useless ride to the store saying she could not get a quote from Lowes computer. This was not true as same quote was received and order placed at another Lowes store shortly after that. On Saturday 4/5/2014 Shari switched from me to another customer just like that. This is the last thing sales person should do as it shows total disrespect. Avoid Windows and Doors at Lowes in Danbury. read more

Appalling customer service and zero follow through or communication. Bought an expensive refrigerator and confirmed a delivery date. Their third-party delivery service called the night before and confirmed our 9:30-11:30am delivery window for next day. Next day at 1:00pm, no delivery and no call. I called and was given a later window. They then called back 2 more times to keep changing the delivery window. "Sonny" at Lowe's was rude and couldn't care less when I called asking where the delivery was. "The unit left our store and it's not my problem." They didn't show up until 7:30pm. Drivers broke my screen door and damaged the refrigerator during install. Left without finishing to assemble the unit and left styrofoam and other trash all over the street in front of my house. I've been trying for almost 3 weeks now to get both fixed and no one at Lowe's is giving me anything but lip service. I've even contacted corporate office and have been met with empty promises that senior management would contact me. The level of customer service is reprehensible. Never again will I spend a dime at any Lowe's location. read more

I just had a great garden experience at Lowe's/ Sales associates were very helpful and the prices were great from well known growers. we are starting a Monarch Butterfly Garden at school and they has Lantana hanging baskets for 2 for 26/00. Let me start off by saying this is the only place to shop in the Danbury CT area, We are in the final stages of building our deck and they are the only place that assisted us from beginning to this final stage in construction either it be designing the deck, picking the right materials, getting the best price for the materials and making sure we had authorized plans from our towns permit and building depts...step by step they where with us either by phone, internet or in person to make sure we where totally happy with the experience and stress free...when it came time to order the materials they where right on top of it and made sure everything we needed was supplied to us no matter what it took to make it happen and the materials where delivered to us as they had told us they would be.... I would recommend they to anyone over the other local home centers any day of the week, they are very knowledgeable and friendly and take the time to answer any and all questions.... read more

Poorly installed plumbing in kitchen renovation caused damage to new kitchen and to family room below it! When contacted to correct the problem, Lowes provided HORRENDOUS customer service and absolute avoidance from the installations manager and manager above him. Installations Manager did not respond to e-mails or phone calls and even pretended not to be in when I stopped by after work to try to settle things. Manager above him .....just as bad.....laughed when install manager finally appeared after I was told he was not there!!! They told me they were both new to the positions and never handled this type of complaint! Finally got a claim # and referral to Lowes Corporate with a promise that they would contact me within 72 hours......only to be ignored again! No phone call! I was sent to voice mail when I called the Lowes Corporate claims manager!!! 2 months and counting with no resolution in sight!!! Not acceptable!!! Now, on to the BBB! read more

I have used Lowes for four different condos/apts and have had great experiences with them. Richard in appliances is fabulous ( and my favorite!) I am always being asked by other workers if I need help while roaming the aisles. Returns have never been a problem. I drive 20 + miles to this store rather than go to a Home Depot that's half the distance. Employees seem much happier too. read more

I just bought my kitchen cabinets at this Lowes. I purchased Schuler, their top line, and I am thrilled with them! They were so reasonably priced...my friends and family are all amazed at what these cabinets cost and what high quality they are.I think Lowes even has a designer that will come out to your home to help choose a style that will go with your house, like the high end kitchen stores do, if you need that service. Erik, the kitchen cabinet specialist, was wonderful...he took a TON of time working out the plan with me, and everytime I came in with what I thought might be a problem (lots of things can go wrong here, and I am really particular) he had ALREADY anticipated the problem and FIXED IT! Anytime my friends or family need a new kitchen I will send them to Erik! read more

horrible.. I ordered custom blinds in store, they said I would have them in about 2 weeks or so. I didn't have them after a month so I called to inquire about my order. they were completely confused what was going on when I called. three days later I got a call that they were delivered by Fedex and left at the front door about 2 weeks ago. The never called or sent me a tracking # or a heads up to let me know they were on the way. There was absolutely no commutation from anyone at Lowes. When I called and was upset they said they could just re-order them (no way to expedite the process) and I'll have to have to wait another few weeks before I receive them. The manager, Larry, was very unapologetic and almost like I was making up not receiving the item. It was like pulling teeth when I asked for a heads up or tracking # for this future delivery. Would not buy anything at Lowes again after this experience. It will now be over 2 months for what should have been a 14 day process. read more
