He was professional, patient, and went out of his way to help me with the price matching process. His manager was also extremely helpful and made sure everything was handled smoothly. It is rare to see that level of customer care, but Anthony and his manager made the entire experience easy and stress-free. Heavy shelving needed great help. Chris and johnRhec were very helpful with this shelving. At 70 lbs and long it was going to be very awkward getting it into the cart. I asked Chris who was at the paint counter and he came over and helped me load it in. JohnRhec helped me scan in my gift card and I had several. My neighborhood Lowes is decent its better than HD. Very friendly people all over to help me with all my questions. One nice older employee walked with me to help me insulate my doors and windows Instead of him saying its over there or its over by the lumber etc.. He walked with me and gave me step by step instructions to insulate. He helped me purchase a decent tool box as mine needed a replacement. My only gripe is checking out. I despise self checkouts... Im not a cashier. I guess Lowe's to too thrifty to hire cashiers. ... No cashier and only 2 self checkout registers were working. The other self checkouts were out of order. The plant and garden department had some nice plants but too expensive, and some needed to be thrown away. read more

Do NOT order online from this store! I generally like the store if I am going in to get or look for something. You can often find someone who k own where the aisle you need is located, but your odds will be much lower if you are looking for someone to give advice on a project. I have ordered twice, once for pickup and once for delivery. Both 0 star experiences. There was a good deal on 4' ladders so I ordered 2 for delivery. Sure enough 2 days later I had a storage crate sitting on my front porch. So I called, mistakes are made. First call to Lowes Customer Service, we have to check with the store. An hour later nobody knows what happened. (shortened for sanity) 2 days later I get the fulfillment t guy from the store. Seems local deliveries are done by people like Door Dash and the door dash person messed up, he will look into it. Lo and behold he did and called me back. Seems they found the address that was supposed to get the crate and the guy had doorbell video. Driver dude delivered 2 ladders, came back and grabbed 1 and took it. Ok, they will have 1 ladder for me in a day or 2, but I have to set up a pickup for the crate and they will give me a pickup window of 8 hours. I cantnleave it outside because if this bright green and red crate disappears I will be charged. Second ladder? Nah, we are sold out. 3 more days of calls, find someone super helpful and they have 10-20 in the store. I have to go pick them up and we agree they won't refund the delivery and I will keep the crate. A WIN i made 97 cents. Lesson. Never get delivery. So right before this cold front I order a space heater for pickup. 13 in stock at 10am, will be ready for pickup in 2 hours. Delay, haven't picked it, not ready, behind because of the cold (not sure how the cold impacts the guys grabbing orders off the shelves) go into the store. Nope, sold out. Call customer service to see if anyone close has it, nope but your order at Market Square is ready for pickup. Wow, another win! Until I get to the store (still no text or email) and nope, we don't have them. By this time I have given up. 2 days later I get an email saying it is out of stock but I can have it delivered in about 2 weeks. Just let up early and go in. read more

Oh, where, oh, where did the Halloween decorations go? Oh, where, oh, where can they be? Well, there are no more Halloween decorations at Lowe's. : ( But, if you are planning ahead... they have a huge selection of Christmas decorations. There were some really fun animated decorations. I was totally in love with this reindeer that moves his head and makes noise, when you walk by. Then, there's a giant Elf on the Shelf. And, every character you can imagine from the Toy Story movie. The service was great. A lady who worked there looked all around the floor with me trying to find any Halloween decorations. That was so nice. But, they were gone. Decorations are not cheap...my moving reindeer was $250. That is why he is still at Lowe's. But, they did have some less expensive blow up decorations. You can find some of those for around $100. They had a wide variety of Christmas trees. So, if you are looking for Christmas decorations head on over to Lowe's. read more

I made it out of there spending just under $60.00. Prices for the annuals that I bought are a little bit pricier than Home Depot, but I was in the area and I decided to get it over with. Ever since we bought our home a year ago, I find myself spending entirely too much time here. To the point that the guys working there recognize me and joke that I might as well get a job there given how often they see me. As much as I enjoy my interactions with the people who work there (always helpful and friendly!) Lowe's does have its downfalls. Their website does it's best to tell you where items are located in the store but it's not always accurate. Don't even get me started on the garden center. The front wall/back wall/left side/right side, etc sorting on the website and aisle numbers that aren't always fully visible drive me up the wall. When the website isn't helpful, I'm then a helpless lost little lamb in a big store until I can locate someone to help me. If you see someone free, grab them fast before someone else gets to them first. read more

Management at this location is not good. I went to buy an outdoor picnic table and the product was out front with 2 prices listed. I ended up asking to speak to a manager to see if they would honor the lower price. The Manager seemed annoyed I was asking and said the product was clearly marked. I politely disagreed since there was a large sign with a lower price right in front of the product. The manager insisted it was marked correctly and only removed the signage when I said having it there was false advertising (which he also insisted I was wrong about). No apology for any employee error, just a bad attitude towards me asking for the lesser price (well within their profit margin). I've made several big purchases from Lowe's online and this location. Overall, this Lowe's store is decent to purchase home repair supplies and customer service for the most part is good. However, on my latest visit last month, an employee named Maria in aisles 40 and 41 lied to my father and myself. We inquired to make an appointment for a consultant to come out to assess and order a replacement for a cracked sliding glass door at my house. She said no one is available to come to my house for 3 weeks or longer. She was adamant and wouldn't look up the schedule on the computer. She kept saying, "I'm just being honest with you." When we got home, I called Lowe's national corporate number and spoke to a pleasant customer service woman. I explained my dilemma and the corporate customer service rep booked an appointment for a consultant to visit my house in 3 business days! She also told me the Kentlands store employee (Maria) should've looked up available appointments on the computer while we were at the store. Lowe's Kentlands: Please do better. We ordered 12 (heavy) bags of garden soil to be delivered to my daughter. In our order, done online, we included instructions about where to put the bags. The delivery service did not read the message, did not knock on the door to see if anyone was home, and instead piled the bags in front of the garage so that my daughter could not get her car out of the garage and had to miss an important meeting. Lowes charged me $60 for this service and refused a refund, instead offering a $15 gift certificate. If I could rate this store a zero, I would. We went to Lowes to buy a freestanding range to replace the original range that came with our house. It was close to 50 years old and was a one-piece range with a double oven. We wanted to replace it with another free-standing range with a separate microwave. We went to Lowes and after searching for a sales person, we found Ismael. We discussed what we wanted in a new freestanding range. We talked about the measurements. We discussed the location of the control panel. We discussed all of the features and compared one model with another. Lowes did not have a model for us to look at, but we looked online with the salesman - Ismael - who assured us that it was a freestanding range. It was not a freestanding range, it was a slide-in. We went back to Lowe's and explained the problem. We were told that we could purchase a panel that was the same as the panel used for the same brand's dishwasher which would fit the range and would have the appearance of a free-standing range. We took the panel home. It was for the wrong side of the range. We decided to call the manufacturer. Not only do they not manufacture the slide panels, but using one for another appliance would void the warranty. Not only that, this company does not make freestanding ranges, only those that slide in. So we have spent thousands of dollars upgrading the electricity in our kitchen for an up-to-date freestanding range that does not exist. We paid for delivery fees and inspection fees. We spent hours going back and forth to Lowes to be lied to. Constantly. We can't return the range. We can't purchase anything to fix the appearance of the range. Don't shop at Lowes. read more

I purchased a bathroom vanity online and I had some of the worst customer service from that store. I complained on 10/20 after which the after service customer support was supposed to contact the manufacturer for an exchange. I was told the manufacturer suggested I return the full item to the store which was impossible. I called several time and each time, despite the reference number I provided them with, I had to re-explain my situation. When speaking to a supervisor ("Brandon"), he kept shifting the blame and responsibility on me to get customer satisfaction. Being condescending to customers or belittling them is not what I call customer service. Basically, he said 'too bad for you lady'. I hope his own supervisor will hear him speak on the supposedly recorded line. I am totally a totally unsatisfied and very disappointed customer. So much for trying to give them my business. Well, our long awaited stove arrived today without the power cord that was purchased. We ordered this range in Nov and have received multiple delivery notifications that did not occur on the dates we were told due to stove not receiving the item. Yesterday when I called I was told it would come today and it did. So now I have a Hugh paperweight in the kitchen that cannot be used. We have been using a two burned hot plate since Nov and were looking forward to being able to cook again. Well that is not happening anytime soon! Since I've been a homeowner all of two and a half months, I've been to Lowes and Home Depot about 14 score times. I can tell you, I DEFINITELY prefer Lowes over Home Depot. Anybody I've run into at Lowes is markedly more helpful and friendly. They must treat their employees much better... better customer service training... or something. The difference is quite stark. I'll tell you, the cashier that rung me up at Lowes the other day was so gosh darn friendly. It reminded me of my time at California Tortilla: We always advertised our job listings for workers as looking for "Spunky Cashiers." This women who rung me up at Lowes was so super nice... one might even describe her as spunky. In any event, it's somewhat as difficult to find stuff in these big box hardware stores... and they never really have enough help. But, I will say that whenever I ask for help at Lowes- I feel like I'm not bothering the person I'm asking. Whenever I'm at Home Depot asking someone for help... I feel like I should add in: "Sorry for interrupting you" "Apologies for disturbing you" "Is there anyway I can make it up to you?" In any event, stopped by Lowes to pick up 1 screw. Yep... SMH. Ended up buying 1 bolt and a small packet of screws just in case the bolt didn't work ( I was hanging a clock and just wanted a longer screw in the wall to hold this heavier one). My total was $1.54. *High fives G-d* Clock is nicely hung. I literally can't remember when I went out to a business and spent such little money. It was so very refreshing. I feel like I had won the lottery or something. Definitely will be back here soon for odds and ends I'm sure. I was here a couple of weeks ago for 1 nut. Stupid new garbage disposal I installed was like "use the wire clamp from your old garbage disposal to affix the wire to you new one." Of course my old garbage disposal wire clamp was not secured with a nut... and I needed one for the new disposal. So frustrating- it probably would have cost them 5 cents to include that part. Sadly, this Lowe's location leaves much to be desired. I've been approximately 15 times in the last year as it is only a few miles from my home. The service is consistently poor from both floor employees and managers. My most recent interaction was with a less than stellar employee named Bernard. Condescending, rude, and lazy are the first words that come to mind when describing him. I've worked in customer service for years and I know when someone is just having a bad day versus being who they really are. I also can shrug off one bad employee in a group of wonderful employees. Unfortunately, that is not the case at the Gaithersburg location. The manager I spoke with (Jay, I believe) didn't even offer an apology--that's manager 101. Just keep your expectations VERY low and if you happen to interact with a pleasant and helpful employee then count yourself lucky. Side note: the selection is a bit lacking. Incompetent, Clueless, Uncaring, employees- would not help me; could not tell me who the Store Manager was; could not tell me who their supervisor was. (They really did not know !) I went to this LOWES in Gaithersburg MD with my wife to buy a washing machine. NO salespeople in APPLIANCES for over 15 minutes. I asked for help from adjacent departments and passing employees to call someone. Apparently no one did. Went to the RETURN DESK and told JACQUELINE there were no salespeople in the Appliance department- I need to speak with the Manager. She went right to the phone and CALLED HER WAREHOUSE TO SEE IF THEY HAD A MICROWAVE IN STOCK! Completely IGNORED ME. I go the the CHECK-OUT REGISTER- I tell the girl I need to speak to the Manager, who would that be? She gives me a blank look- "I dunno". Who is your supervisor? "I dunno". I turn to another employee and ask her the same questions. First girl keeps talking- I said "You are no help to me- I'm not talking to you anymore, don't talk to me". Employee in a Blue Vest, STEPHEN, comes up and asks me what's going on. I tell him I need to speak with the Manager- he said "We have lots of Managers, I don't know who is on duty today". O.K. then- Who is your supervisor? STEPHEN - "I dunno". Stephen: "You're being rude to the employees". Me: "No I'm being frustrated- you're more worried about your co-workers' feelings than you are about helping me". Stephen: "Go Sit up front and I'll try to see who the manager is". I refuse to SIT- He says "You're blocking the register". I say No problem, and I step aside. He goes to a cubical and goes through a clipboard (schedule?), asks someone there who the manager is. I leave the store. STEPHEN chases me out into the parking lot-" I called the Manager, he's coming". He adds: "Are you going on line and give a bad review?". ME: "I dunno". I guess I'm stuck. I just spent a wasted hour with Lowes customer service. I have an order of sheetrock delivered to me but no one notified me that the truck had come. It is raining here. The drivers decided to just dump my order on the wet driveway w no attempt to put plastic or anything under it. It is in front of the garage door so I am unable to get my car out. The cost of delivery was substantial but the "policy" is that it was delivered and so the cost could not be refunded. In fact, because I spent some time covering it with tarps so it wouldn't be destroyed, they would not let it be returned. Customer service is not service. It is simply a poor sap on the phone who lets you blow off steam, says they are really sorry, but really can't do anything. This sort of service has convinced me that Lowes doesn't give a rap about the customer nor about their service. I will never shop at Lowes again and highly recommend that readers do likewise. There are enough hardware shops that we need not support one that is so arrogant that they feel they can ignore a fairly serious employee error and lay the correction on the purchaser under the guise of "policy". I came here on 6-29-25 and spent about $2,000.00 cash I paid for everything I bought and I took my phone and scan the code of something I wanted but could not lift because I just had surgery and showed the code to the cashier she added it to my receipt and I asked her could she have someone to bring it up front to me. I waited one hour to get my dishwasher because the guy name Nick told the cashier he need to check the camera and his inventory to make sure that I didn't already take it out of the store I was sitting on my rug behind him when he was talking to the cashier about me then I came forward to show him my receipt then someone took my dishwasher out to my truck for me. He said no that his boss told him to assemble others... That weren't purchased yet. After some back and forth he finally agreed -husband usually flashes his military ID at home depot to receive his discount for purchase. At checkout with Lowes. A simple flash isn't good enough. You have to register online for a military discount. Not knowing this, the woman didn't grant our valid ID, and discount. We would have to purchase full price, sign up online, and then come back for a refund... Couldn't you push a button or ask a manager to do it this one time since we were already rung up?? Our mission was a fail as we didn't purchase the grill there. Assembly was another hour, which we would have waited patiently for but not honoring the military discount unless fully registered online is a bit much. First time painting a wall, bought rollers and they ended up leaving pieces of the roller on our wall as we painted. Can't really stop painting once you go if you don't want blotches and dried spots, etc so I tried to return them. Customer service and specifically JACKIE @ customer service was so rude. Had me screaming across registers until I asked her to come over so I could explain and show her pictures and she said she can't do anything without the other two rollers. I asked her if I can bring them in covered in paint. She flat out dismissed me and said no we can't take them. I generally have high regards for Lowe's stores. Not this one. I should have read the reviews before coming in but I figured this location would be similar to the others. I was so wrong. I am here to get a piece of primed MDF for a project in my daughter's room but I need to have it cut beforehand since I do not own a saw. No big deal, right? WRONG! I am currently standing at the saw, and have been for the last 10-15 minutes. A least 6 employees have crossed my path but I have yet to get anyone to cut this. There was even an employee who was here on his day off notice and he did an announcement over the speaker to get me help. Still nothing. If you are coming in to grab something quick, great. This is corporate policy related and not store related. I selected 5 items online for local pickup at my store. THey wre purchased with online gift cards in my account. I did it on my phone and could not read small print. For some reason one item was assigned to a far away store not near me and put in a locker. I didnt find out until I got to my store. There is no way to cancel an on line order once it is in a locker and the only thing they will do is give me store credit at the far away location. For an item they did not have, I was mailed a gift card. Just silly they cannot reimburse my account or transfer credit, like they are somehow treated as franchises. i am now out $30 done with Lowes.
