I come to this Giant location very often as it's the closet grocery store to my house. I don't have any issues with it. It's nothing special, but I almost always find what I need - on occasion there are things out of stock that I'm looking for, but not often enough to make a big difference. I have had a mix of interactions with the staff here, nothing outwardly negative, just generally unfriendly. BUT there is a gentleman that usually works in the dairy/processed meats section and he is always SO NICE and so friendly. Even when I come in at 6 in the morning on the weekends! I was a regular shopper at Shopper's which unfortunately closed after 30 years. I was forced to shop at the next Super Market Giant Foods! At first I liked it. I tried their Delivery. The first two times it was good. The third time was a disaster. They have a fraud department. I was flagged..it happens.. They realized it was a mistake and reinstated my account. Mind you it was $250 worth of food. They reordered my delivery (another $250) and the fraud department canceled the order again! I called to fix this. A man by the name of Chris said it was "billing issue" Fraud? Billing? which one. I am for now on going to Costco. I told them they lost $15,000 worth of my business because of their incompetence. read more

I don't usually shop here but every Valentines Day I get my Darling's flowers here and the ladies doing the flower arraigning always have spectacular arrangements ready to go. This year was no different except I think they are getting better at it if that's possible. My Wife was astounded at the beautiful arrangement. They are always helpful and even found me a great vase to put my flowers in. Thanks Flower Ladies, for making our Valentines Day special again. read more

I ran in to get a few things. I got wonderful service from Marcus at the deli department. While I was shopping, I ran into Jeff from the fish department and said hi. My cashier was Haby who did excellent job with processing my check. Marcus, Jeff, Haby are excellent at their job including Pam the Christmas girl who rings her bell and smiles no matter how cold it gets. All of them are honest, compassionate and cares about the shoppers which I am proud to say I am one of them. read more

The manager at the seafood department at this Giant needs to be retrained. He's rude, Condescending and very unprofessional. There is nothing positive I can say about this guy. In Germantown we have about four Giant foods, but this is the only one I like going to, just because the customer service is always great and they are very organized, they always have what I need and I can't say that for a lot of the other Giant foods. I also like the seafood department and the staff that work in seafood, they are very knowledgeable and very helpful, I believe the one guys name is Jeff but I'm not sure, very nice guy. read more

My grandfather ran a grocery store (A&P) in Cambridge Wisconsin for many years. The local Giant, local because it is within walking distance of the house, is a good place. 1. Fresh food is well laid out and displayed. 2. Everything is easily found and the store is always clean. 3. The cashiers and team at the various stations are friendly and always happy to help! 4. If you don't walk to the store, there is plenty of parking. There is something about having a grocery store that is really close to the house. Giant does a great job of having the things we need. Overall their prices are a little higher than other places. That costs them a star. But the cleanliness of hte store and helfulness of the team is well worth a little extra! read more

Always a very good shopping experience. Usually go to this Giant location to get some bottles of water along with some grocery items. Normally go after 8:30 PM or after 10:30 PM when not many people are there. Much better to shop when it ain't so crowded, since you can pretty much go anywhere with your shopping basket or cart and not face people blocking your way. Inventory of items are pretty decent, and selection of drinks and food are fine. Parking lot is spacious and it is a very nice location, right next to a Starbucks. read more

The pharmacy has a lot to be desired. Having cellulitis of the right breast; a very painful situation: my dr prescribed anti biotic and pain meds. That was yesterday morning and the fever and redness has gotten worse. They simply take their time ( I waited the 15 to 20 minutes) every movement is painful. read more

I'm happy to say that this Giant has made fabulous improvements over the past couple of years! I used to hate coming here, but now I enjoy it and stop by at least once a week. They've cleaned up their act considerably. Everything is much cleaner now, shelves are almost always fully stocked, and employees are friendlier. The produce is of higher quality as well. I'm so happy that they carry multiple vegan products now, like Daiya, Gardein, and dairy-free Halo Top. I've been so impressed by the organization of their aisles (everything is consistently straightened and faced) and efficiency at check-out. Highly recommend! read more

You guys are definitely not worried about your employees and costumers in this pandemic! Just limiting how many people go in at once is not nearly enough. Nobody is wiping down carts, there are zero hand sanitizer stations and the belts are not getting cleaned between costumers. There is not even a wipe station for you to clean your own cart. My letter to Giant I've been a loyal customer of Giant Pharmacy for 25+ years, first at White Oak, Md, and for the last 15+ years at Wheaton, MD. For at least the last five years, the service has been mediocre at best, and I often have to make multiple trips to get my medicine. Today was the final straw. After have the automated phone line tell me my prescription had already been submitted, I arrive only to learn that the prescription for Metformin had been expired and I would have to contact my doctor to refill. incidentally, I had to spell my name five times for the counter person, and still she got it wrong. After years of gnashing my teeth over staying loyal to Giant, today's experience finally got me to bring all of my prescriptions to a nearby CVS. I promised myself to never enter a Giant again. BTW, I really like the pharmacist, Sara, and if all of your personnel were like her, you would not be receiving this letter. read more

I bought cupcakes for my daughter's birthday and didn't look closely at the label. The cupcakes were hard and stale, and I ended up throwing them away. Checked the label and it said, "Packed on January 11, sell by February 10." I purchased them on February 1. Yes, they sell month-old cupcakes at Giant. I will not purchase anything from their bakery again. Plus their checkout is always backed up and slow, no matter the time of day. read more

Reasonable prices if you have the rewards card, and their self-checkout machines do a good job of taking your coins. The ones at other places, like Safeway, take several seconds to record a cent and often break down, whereas here the machines instantly read it and work all the time. Since my local bank stopped taking coins, I just come here when I have loads of coins and just spend them all on the self-checkout machine. They'll also take your food returns even without a receipt, which is nice of them. However, often times some of the sodas in their drinks section is out of stock so beware. read more

The store is just what you expect but what ever you do, do not get in the cashier line of a woman named Mariam. I had trouble believing that ANYONE could move as slow as this woman does. I waited 20 minutes in line and I was the second in line. The seasons change faster than this woman moves. I should have ordered a pizza and had it delivered while I waited in line. Great Store and location. The young, African american man that helped me while I was shopping went by the name of Joe. He was very patient and suggested some cool dishes and veggies to try. He and all the staff were very helpful. It seems some people have been working there for a while, as they greeted customers by name! Awesomeness! Keep hiring kind people like Joe. This Giant has gone so far down hill that I almost feel sorry writing a review. I filled my prescription yesterday (July 9th) around 4:30pm. As I was told it would take 20 minutes, I picked up a self scan it gun and started to do some shopping. I had 105 plus some change in my bags and 4 discounted steaks with a faded label. I went to the self check out and it clearly asks that if you are a scan it customer, scan the barcode now otherwise, scan your Giant card. I asked the "floating" cashier for the barcode and was told that I had to go to a cashier. The manager, Joe, refused to come over to me so I went to him and dumped my bags in the cart. Each of the 2 open cashier lines were rather long. It would have been quicker for me to scan everything at the self scan register had I known before hand. To top off the wonderful experience, I go back to the pharmacy (now almost 35 minutes later) and my order was not complete yet. With a great new Wegmans, and a Safeway and a Harris Teeter so close by, I will never enter a Giant again. read more

This is the best Giant in Germantown. It is almost always quieter than the other Giants, plus the staff is much more friendly. I have an easier time finding things and negotiating the aisles. There are several self-check outs and they also have the Scan-It system. I've never had any problems with either, though they are so popular that I often find it faster to just go through a regular line. read more

This store has a tendency of keeping the patients in a long wait, just to keep them shopping at their store. A lackluster performance and lazy workforce. Despite Physician orders a prescription over the phone hours in advance, they still keep you waiting, which is completely pathetic. Some lame excuses come from them if you look for answers. Not a well managed pharmacy, there are better competitors out there to serve better. read more

clean, organized and there are international and ethnic beauty sections- they r small sections compared to shoppers international and ethnic beauty sections but im happy giant is making some effort to carry ethnic products. their food products are always fresh and customer service has always been good. i wish they had more organic produce to chose from. self check out is a bit shaky- but thats been my expererience at a lot of stores. self check out can be annoying at times. read more
