I chose to use Lowes because I did not want to deal with an installer directly if there were any issues. Despite Lowes' assurances this was not the case. Sales person said installer would not be paid until I approved the job which was not true. Lowes never came to look at the job after the installation to confirm the issues I raised. I never heard from the sales person again or anyone at Lowes. 1. 70 pickets were not nailed in the middle; some had only one nail. I had to do that myself and used deck screws. (See Pics) 2. Very sloppy cuts on support posts. (See Pics) 3. Inconsistent spacing of pickets. Some not long enough. 4. Numerous design issues making it look like a DIY project. 5. Suspicion posts were not set deep enough in some areas. 6. Transition area at step downs were not covered with picket. 7. Significant amount of left over materials I paid for and installer was planning on taking home. (Side job??) 8. Site cleanup marginal. After learning how they were going to install the shadow box fence I asked the installer about alternative methods and the response was "it takes too much time". Lowes has a new "customer care" system that wears you out with bot calls and never allows you to speak to the same person. There was all kinds of confusion regarding delivery and pickup. Very long story but this was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. With all the bad reviews I guess this comes as no surprise, but think long and hard before you buy shades or blinds from Lowes and expect them to install. We purchased 3 shades on Dec 8 and the project was not completed until January 28. Approximately 6 weeks. It took weeks for the shades to arrive and then 1 shade was not cut to the specifications so we had to start all over but not without a significant delay in the first place. What Lowes is best at is having someone call and tell you they are "working on it" but it will be delayed. Add insult to injury, the initial purchase was supposed to be 50% off of several brand names, signs all over the place. We ordered from two companies but turned out only 1 was 50% off even after I checked with the sales person to make sure the 50% was used. After i got home i realized that the most expensive shade was full price. Called customer service and they said oh, you're right. They checked on it and said well the brand name is 50% off but not this particular style. It would have been nice if you they had some fine print that said "Exceptions Apply" or "Not all styles are 50% off" or even have a sale person who knew this. This is classic bait and switch and is fraud. Of course there was nothing they could do for me. I want to add the installer was actually very good and timely. If you are doing a number of shade/blinds etc you probably are best to use one of the specialist companies, if you can afford it. They are more expensive but I would expect could get things right the first time. read more

This rating range should start at zero stars. They do not answer the phone, A.I. phone system is a nightmare. During Helene their staff was as vacant as normal, whereas Home Depot brought on extra staff and their credit card system ran inhouse only so you could make purchases with a card. Stocking is hit an miss most of the time, you need 100 rafter ties and their computer says they have 200, but you find only 7. I wanted to buy a microwave oven of a particular type that their computer said they had in stock, no they didnt. They said I could get it if I ordered it and paid for it, in about 10 days. I went home and bought it from Amazon and it was on my porch the next day, the price in this instance was the same. The company is impossible to contact, they have no email and they use Chat for questions, plus they now charge you $2 to pay the bill with a check. I just spent 3 grand on supplies for a home repair, every dollar was spent at Home Depot, I will never go back to Lowe's again, and the biggest insult? They just don't care. read more

I needed help with simple light bulb and he went the extra mile to help and make sure I purchased the right item so as to not have to return to store. House was destroyed by Helene. Planned to work with Lowe's on everything. $40,000 in cabinets? Another vendor. $23,000 in flooring? Another vendor. Counters? Stayed with Lowe's installer to experience incorrect cuts, major delays, and a $20% price bump no one can explain. I purchased appliance on Black Friday for the day we could move back in. "No worries. We take care of you. Just call when the house is ready." Passed final inspections this morning. Called for installation. "Sorry. Can't help you. More than 30 days past delivery. But we can do it for an additional $617." Five phone calls. Almost two hours. Shuffled from person to person all saying "I don't know why they sent you to me." Meanwhile a refrigerator is sitting in my foyer and two gas ranges are worthless until I can find someone (anyone but Lowe's) to come hook them up. So, I had the most unbelievable experience at the Hendersonville Lowe's today. I took 2 stepping stones and 8 bricks total of two different kinds to the register, which was apparently only self checkout. I attempted to ring them up but quickly realized there is no search option for things with no barcode. Naturally, I asked the woman attending the self checkout area what to do when you have no barcode. Her reply was a kind of smart remark saying "you didn't write down the IM numbers." The way she said it really didn't set well with me so I replied "I don't work here." I asked what happened to cashiers that work the registers who can ring those items and her reply was "we don't have that." I said really, and she stated that it was a scheduling issue. Naturally, I asked how we proceed with ringing the stuff up and she said "I'll have to go get a book." She looked for a book and was unable to locate one so she logged in at the register and proceeded with trying to search for the items. She clearly had no clue. She was searching blocks and nothing was coming up so I had to suggest she search for pavers, then also had to suggest she search for stepping stones when the time came. All total, it took well over 5 minutes of her searching the system, ultimately never finding one type of brick and finally just selling me them at the price of the one she already rung up which was slightly cheaper. After experiencing this disturbing customer service it's doubtful I'll shop the Hendersonville Lowe's again. I'm pretty sure I could go up the hill to Home Depot and pick similar items and also have someone ring them up for me. If you are gonna have customers do the work then install a system that functions and if I owned a business and had an employee say the stupid remark this cashier said to me then they would be fired immediately. read more

Very unreliable as far as ordering online. I ordered a mower and three days later they said it was delayed, and if I didn't call to tell them, it would be cancelled. I work nights and sleep days, so the last thing I want to do is sit on a phone for who knows how long, waiting on customer service. I actually hate talking on the phone unless I have to. This is the worst store to do business. Do not by appliances from them. Between them not getting the delivery right. To Kimberrly( a manager) who lied to us about our appliance being in the store. We had to call their corporate office to find out that the appliance had indeed been in stock. But Kimberly on many phones calls was sarcastic and rude. When we ask to speak to Franklin the manager about the disaster we were told he can not be reached ask this time. We then ask at corporate at the store and on Facebook for the Regional manager name or number not one person could supply that. We also called the store one morning 5 times one morning and Nobody picked up. Once again Kimberly the manager said we were in a meeting. Don't waste your time what a mistake to order carpet from Lowe's. First they take your money and then promise a 72 hour turnover and then don't show up for a month. Once they take your money they have a contracted company call Service Pro who installs it. The guy they sent out was inexperienced and I know this because my husband was a licensed contractor for 35 years and knows how these things should be done. He had to point out a few mistakes and then the guy fixed them. They promised us a adjustment in the bill and that hasn't happened either. I would give them a lower rating but I can't enter negative numbers. I ordered new glass for my Bespoke fridge in December 2022 and was told mid February they would be delivered. I called mid February and was told and of February. Early March I called because I heard nothing again and was told end of March. I asked for a manager and when I spoke with him he said they couldn't do anything. I called back first of April because no one had called me again and asked where my glass doors were. I was told this time it would be May. I called back on Saturday May 13th (5 months later) and asked about my doors. The first manager I talked to said " they should be here". He said he would call me back in a minute to let me know if they were there. 4 hours later I called back and was told by another manager that they were at the warehouse and expected delivery of Sunday but it could be Monday. Guess what, no phone call so I called back Monday. I got the appliance manager this time that did not see where they were even in transit but would call me back the next day. Surprise, Nicholas called me back. He said that they had been pushed back another month. Very disappointed. No one seems to care that something is very wrong when I can't an item in a reasonable time. It's also disappointing that I have several different managers that either don't have a clue what they are doing or just bold faced liars. If I could give negative stars, I would. We bought a Maytag Washer/Dryer and the protection plan. The washer's control board failed and we called for service before Christmas 2021. It is now February 7, 2022 and the part is backordered with no estimated time of delivery. Lowes did not honor the contract we purchased, and refused to replace the washer because the "warranty was working like it was supposed to. " Yea, by leaving us indefinitely without a working washer until some part shows up, if it ever does. This is not acceptable. read more

I was at Lowe's in Hendersonville North Carolina two nights ago and there are so few workers that the customers have to hunt them down. I was in the kitchen section waiting for a sales person, then saw two walk up to the cash register just talking, in eye shot of me. I was waiting for them to come over to where I was and what I was looking at. They never did. They know you're there but don't make eye contact. I had to approach them. And then when I went to the bath section where I needed to purchase items for a remodel, I located a call button on a desk and someone did appear within one minute. That was nice, but it is very frustrating to have to hunt down someone to help. Sales people no longer approach and ask if you need help. And at times I will see an employee only to be told, "I don't work this section." I feel somewhat bad as though I'm interrupting them when I ask them to locate someone who can help, but I should'nt. I'm sure Lowe's receives MANY complaints in this regard, but they obviously don't care. Companies and employees sure aren't what they used to be. read more

Lowes, like other stores offer a discount to Veterans. Recently they made that perk a little more challenging to receive. Instead of honoring the government issued ID card we all carry in our pockets, we have to present our DD 214. Granted once they enter the discharge date in their system, our ID cards will be honored. That makes me feel like they really don't want to give me that discount until I've jumped through that extra hoop. My jumping days are over. Home Depot here I come! Worst location I've experienced in eastern US as someone who's remodeled homes in several states. Primary issue - always greatly understaffed and according to customers I met there some of them applied (one a contractor looking for part time work!) but they are not filling vacant slots - is that a mgmt.strategy to keep costs down ? Several of us left there this past weekend when no one would help us even though we pushed the cust. svs. button within Depts.. Register would not print my receipt.. was told to go to Customer Service and tell then register 1 did not print receipt.. went to Customer Service No. 9..gal shut off the No.( light and I WAITED...waited 10 minutes and still no one acknowledging I WAS THERE.. finally someone walked by and I asked HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO WAIT!!! The gal w/customer service on her pocket waited on someone BEFORE me and when I told her I was there for a receipt NOT A RETURN she finally helped me.. gave me a very teeney hard to read receipt with ANOTHER customers receipt above mine AND there was NO 12 digit # so I could go online for a chance at a gift certificate... answered all the questions but in the end had no 12 digit # to post!! Thanks a lot LOWE's.. know my purchase was only $53.35 .. You need more and better help too, and better AC system ..as it is 5-18-18 and 80's.. what will it be like when it is 90's here in Hendersonville, NC!!
