My door replacement took a very long time to get it delivered and installed. It is still under warranty. There is a leak under the door at the threshold. Three installers, including the service manager came out and said the threshold was bad and had to order a new door. (part of the frame). I have called all 3 installers and not one of them has called back. I have tried to call the Lowes store over a dozen times and have yet to talk to any one in that department. I have talked to a manager of Lowes.com and they have no work order. Still no results. Read my post from 2/15/2024 They have gotten worse since then. I wonder who reads these comments? The store is open, but employees will NOT answer the phone. When I call, and finally get through all the automated crap, the employee puts me on hold without a mere salutation. This store used to be good- when they had employees that actually understood they were there to work. The current employees know nothing about their area or skill set. They are rude, lazy and hood. Corporate Lowe's needs to step in and get some quality people in here before the store is closed. It only takes one or two crappy management people to work here and then they hire all their friends who are just there to draw a check. It all goes down hill from there.... Stop the spin! read more

Now, to be clear you have to go at the right time, early in the day to find the deals. I have found plants for more than 75% off at times. Sometimes the price is less than what you'd pay for the planter alone. It's just a matter of right place at the right time. With so many events canceled & restrictions, gardening is a great antidote for all the social distancing this year! read more

So this has become my go to big box home improvement store since my last review. I can almost always find someone to give me directions or answer my questions. I've gotten used to how the store is organized (the HVAC filters are behind plumbing). And can pretty much find what I need. I've purchased lumber, tools, curtains, plants and appliances here. I like that they carry longer curtains at this location which is what you need for vintage uptown houses. I know others have had customer service complaints but I really haven't experienced that at all. read more

I purchased a new door 10/14/23, Finally showed up and parts were missing. Parts were reordered. The door was finally delivered, and I had to bring back $123.00 of miss ordered parts. I purchased a new door lock which did not work. I had to put back the old door locks back on. Every time they said they would call me about the threshold that was defective, I never hear from them. I have to call several times. I had to call back on 12/17/2023 and suppose to call me on 02/14/24 today 02/15/2024 I had to call. Still the threshold leaks air. Calling the Lowes Customer call # you get disconnected and have to call back and get someone else and start all over again. read more

For my purposes, Lowe's and Home Depot have 99% of what I need. What sets each place apart is the staffing. I usually have trouble flagging people down in this store. But it's a huge store, I don't mind. What irks me is that when you do manage to find a human, you have a 50/50 shot they have a clue what you're talking about. The ones who have no clue are sadly the ones who seem uninterested in finding a solution. The good ones know what's up and if they don't, they will work to help you out anyway. For this Lowe's, I've had mixed results but plenty of duds. I recommend have a list of items you need and then downloading the Lowe's app. Look it up yourself while you're in the store. It's more efficient than waiting on staff. read more

The Jefferson Hwy. location's Curbside Pickup system is broken. They do not respond to the Lowe's App Check In process and the phone number posted on the pickup parking spot signs is not monitored after 7PM. It just rings. Wasted 20 minutes sitting in the heat. Had to go inside to customer service and wait another 10 minutes while they located my order. The agent at the desk was kind and helpful though. By contrast, the Curbside Pickup at the Veterans location worked flawlessly using the Lowe's App process and got my order out and loaded up in under 5 minutes. read more

God bless those employees because I don't know how they manage doing their jobs with so little training or guidance. I went to Lowes for four things today. An 18" Weber grill, a chain to lock it up with, a padlock and an air filter for the house. It took me an HOUR to get these four things. My grill wasn't in stock so I did some quick research to find an alternate as I wasn't leaving without one. Took awhile to find an employee but once I did, I got my grill which was pre assembled. I asked if their was a flatbed or cart I could use to transport the grill, instead he just folded the legs up and handed it to me; after all it was portable. At first I didn't mind carrying it, I'm a strong, independent woman, but by the time I was searching for aisle 36 with this grill banging around, I was over it. Chain and lock to secure it with. Though the ladies in this department were kind, they were not adequately trained at all. I didn't want a bulky chain, so inquired about the various cable they had, and if anyy of it was "finished", i.e. With the loops on the end so I can lock items together. The machines they used to cut the cable were either old, not maintained correctly or they weren't trained on how to use it because the first set of cable we cut had rugged, gnarly ends. So then we decided to go with a vinyl coated cable instead. I was instructed on how to crimp the ferrule I purchased using a pliers but I can tell you after attempting this at home, it's not working. I need a crimp tool, or at least have Lowe's crimp it for me, since they make their own cables in house!! Now to check out. There are no cashiers in this place. Only attendants that don't know what they're doing and four self checkouts. I had two pieces of chain and cable with numbers and a giant grill with no barcode. Any guesses how long it took me to check out? Let's just be thankful I had a belly full of brunch drinks and no where to go because this was as asinine as it gets. Lowes, pay your cashiers a decent wage and staff your checkout counters, because with all the innumerable products that require special codes, you'll have more than just the people next to me shoplifting or walking out all together. read more

Had a special order online and received an email that it was in as well as a phone call. Went to the store and was helped at the front. Sort of. A young lady asked for my number to find the order on the computer and then I waited. And I waited some more. Finally I asked what the status was. She looked up from her social media on her phone to inform me that some was going to get it for me. Ok. Was that hard? I go sit in the nice comfortable bench to wait some more. Loosing patience, I ask again. Another nice lady jumps into action and goes to find the order. 30 minutes later the order is lost. No one can seem to locate it. So frustrating the lack of customer service. Hope when I come back in the morning some one was able to find it. read more

I know it's probably KIND of odd that I update this review so often, but I probably go here at least once every couple of weeks. Still don't have that succulent soil, womp womp but I do want to point out that their staff is really pleasant and helpful here. Why still A-OK? I purchased shelving here for our storage unit, and after completing about 98% of the instructions to put it together, we found that we were shorted two pieces (not integral but still, very odd) and actually had a bunch of other pieces that we have no idea what they're for and aren't on the directions. Lesson learned: count your pieces before starting. Also, if you're going to make a quick run in the store and MAY need a shopping cart, bring it in with you and leave it by the door or something 'cause when you realize, "yes I DO need a cart" you have to go out through the exit and come back in just to get a cart thus making your quick run really...not...so...much. Still going to be going to this location but I've learned these lessons. Enjoy! read more

Everyone should know what to expect when they go to a Lowes. It's warehouse type chain home improvement store. This one however I have mixed reviews about their service. First time I went here there was a guy who went out of his way up and down several aisles collecting everything on my list with me. The second time I was here though I couldn't even get the customer service lady to hand me my internet pick up order. She just pointed to the aisle where my product was and told me to go find it. I tried to explain a bit that it was a pick up order it should be ready to go but she just repeated herself telling me to go to the aisles to find it myself. Quite odd experience. All in all its a great place to find most anything you would need for your home improvement needs at affordable prices. I got a nice toilet seat for only $7! A great buy for college students who are renting but still want their place to look presentable. Once you walk through you'll be inspired to start many projects! read more

For those of you that don't know, I grew up as a tomboy but am about as girly girl as you can get (sans the makeup part because in the immortal words of Sweet Brown, "ain't nobody got time for that"). So walking into Lowe's is like a foreign land to me. I wanted to get a huge area rug (did my homework and measured the space) and other items for my new apartment (fan extender thingy since I'm only 5" 3/4'), cushy toilet seat (which I returned afterwards bc they break down on you and slide around and Jen L. knows I hate the damned shifty seat! feels like you're going to fall into the toilet Augh!). I also used a coupon that I got in the mail (the one they mail you when you move into a new apartment). It was a lovely experience with helpful people, a big store compared to the baby Home Depot in Mid-City. I also found the energy efficient light bulbs that I needed for my ancient light fixture and my new lamps (I like dim lighting and like to save the planet and money!). One of the employees offered to help move the huge 5x7 rug into my SUV which was most appreciated (later I got my kind neighbor to bring it up to my second story apartment! hehe). Plus there is a well-lit parking lot, a friendly staff, and clean store. I've used their restrooms as well and they are clean. It ALMOST makes me want to be a handy woman although I am making full use of my pink tools from Target in my new apartment! hehe... Happy Home Shopping! read more

Sometimes I find what I need and sometimes I don't. The store is big and prominent enough, right on the edge between Orleans and Jefferson Parishes. You can price shop, but particularly for some larger things it does help to go look at them and pick up in person. They do have self checkout here, which means there isn't a ton of service to be had but does let you get out quick if your needs are simple. read more

I was in search of a very specific kind of tree that Lowe's website claimed was in stock. After asking several employees where I could find it and having them either roll their eyes at me or simply not say anything, I wandered back out to the garden center. Here, I was greeted by an employee by the name of Jorge who immediately offered to help. Once I said I had no luck finding the tree myself, he dropped everything to search the ENTIRE store for what I was looking for. Trying to do 0 (zero) stars for the Customer Service. Ordered an item and was promised 3 day delivery to store. On the 6th day we picked up the item to find it wasn't the correct item. Called the store to get the correct item but was told we had to return the item, get a refund, then place another order for the item we originally ordered. Then Lowes tried to shift responsibility to their vendor. Customer Service we did not receive; incompetence and pushback are what we got. Tried to explain this on their email customer care address only to receive a bot reply that they ignore the email. Tried to discuss with customer service only to be told that we have to follow their procedure outlined above. No real customer help. Need to try another supplier, as Lowes does not care to help it's customers. read more

So my tenants washing machine goes out so I'm shopping for a replacement. Walk into Lowe's and bam they have some "refurbished" appliances in the front. "Wow that looks like a great deal on a nice front load washer," I say to myself as I look at the price marked down from around $700 to $250. Bam! I love a good deal and I'm in good deal fever so I quickly locate a staff person and go up to a Lowe's staff lady and say, "Hey, I'm interesting in purchasing this item if it is fully repaired and you guarantee that it works." "Oh yes they fixed that in the back it is completely repaired and should work great and we just marked it down so much because of a few dents and scuffs," replies the staff lady. "Great I'll take it!" I say. So it takes four of us to load this 500 pound beast into the back of my vehicle and then I recruit three more folks to help me haul this massive creature into my tenants space and remove the old broken machine. The next morning I get a text informing me that the new machine just fills up with water and won't work. I again recruit people to help move it but this time I can only get two to assist with lifting the now even heavier beast with the added water weight trapped inside. We manage to drain most of the water out of the machine but it still seems far heavier and painful to lift than when we had one more man assisting us. Finally on returning to Lowe's I give the return lady the receipt and say, "Ok I bought this thing yesterday after being assured that it would definitely work but this thing definitely is broken!" "Oh we only put things out for sale like that when they just can't be repaired so this happens all the time," replies the returns lady. Seriously if something can't be repaired what in the name of ever loving Bacchus are they selling it advertised as "repaired" for! It is 100% that if it doesn't work customers are going to be returning such items! If it is only good for scrap or being broken down into replacement parts don't advertise something as "repaired" when clearly it isn't! Ludicrous behavior and poor management to ever do such a thing! read more

I've always preferred Lowe's to Home Depot for some reason so I decided to go to the Lowe's on Jeff. Hwy. because I needed a few things. The store is pretty standard but this was one of the first times I checked out the house plants. Their selection of house plants was garbage, I mean, they had more bird seed variety than plant variety... good for birds, bad for people who want to buy houseplants. Birds don't shop at Lowe's! The few plants they had looked like they had fallen off the truck and then been run over a few times. I did find a good deal on a spiky plant but it had some dead leaves I had to cut off. Whatever, I can do that. Another section where Lowe's is lacking is plant pots! Even cheap crappy ones are expensive, what's with that? I will go back but not for plants. 3 Stars because aside from a decent plant I've always found what I need here. read more

See my letter written to customer service: To Whom it May Concern, Just wanted to let someone know that I spend a lot of money at Home Depot - maybe I'm the tune of $5-6,000 a month.  Every once in a while I try to give Lowe's a chance, and every time I am reminded why I don't shop there. The location on Jefferson Highway outside of New Orleans, in my opinion, is an embarrassment.  And please understand that I expect and ask for nothing from Lowes.  I will never shop there again, but maybe someone can have a better experience due to my letter.  Or maybe you can properly train your employees? Friday around 12 on 6/26.  Looking to buy ~$500 worth of Schlage electronic door locks and Honeywell WiFi thermostats. I get to the hardware area, and 2 of the 4 locksets are obvious repacked returns.  No thanks. Employee had no idea if they have more in stock. Fine, I'll take the two... Get to the thermostats in the far corner of the store. Web page shows many in stock of my model. None on the shelf and no front desk slips.  Fine, I'll ask at front of store since no employee can found anywhere near by. Get to customer service and request a price match to the printed Amazon listings I bring in. Lowes regular price is literally 30%+ higher on both items. I have done Amazon price matches at Lowes and HD in the past. The lady at the desk bluntly tells me they don't do that.  I reference the wording on Lowes web page as well as the fact that they have done it before. She informs me that she is the store manager and they don't price match from inline stores. No discussion, no logic, no people skills whatsoever. I inform her that I will never shop here again. She doesn't care.  Fine. And BTW, I have three renovations in the work, all needing entire kitchens full of new appliances - not to mention everything else.  Guess who just lost any chance at that business so they could save less than $100 in legitimate price matching. Good luck with this continued "customer comes last" strategy. I'll continue shopping at Amazon and Home Depot where my business is valued. read more

Believe it or not I used to live really close to this particular Lowe's. There really isn't that much difference in this Lowe's as compared to all the other Lowe's stores around the U.S. But I guess I will try to be fair with this review. Lowe's is similar to places like Home Depot or other Hardware places. They sell lumber, tools, appliances,Lawn care, plumbing and many other things. I think one of my favorite things about this location is the self service key machine. Unlike standing in line at walmart and home depot and the clerk still gets your keys wrong. A machine does everything for you. No human error when it comes to making these keys. Yep nothing better than machine precision. If you buy 2 keys you usually get a 3 key for free. I will note that the staff here was friendly also. In short a great home project store, with a nice key machine. read more

Since we just moved to Mid-City, a few weeks ago Daniel N. and I headed to the close by Home Depot to purchase some shelf building and other handy things. This isn't a review for that experience, but I will say that it was a stark contrast to the excellent customer service and selection when I went to Lowe's this past Saturday in order to get some other items. Their signs make much more sense and make it easier for you to find the things you need quickly, and their staff is knowledgeable about where items are, not needing to ask others or find managers. Again, the pleasant demeanor and helpful attitude of the staff cannot be emphasized enough. No belittling or condescending remarks, just polite and friendly questions to ascertain what exactly I needed. Adding another star for their newly renovated and freakily clean bathrooms! The sinks look like they belong in an airport. read more

Not all big box stores are alike, nor are even 2 of the same co. in different parts of a city necessarily alike. I worked in retail for a LONG time (12 years), and to have a different experience at the same business in different parts of town and/or different dayparts is all too common. Tonight I had a short list of needs that only a big box after dark could fulfill. And truly this Lowe's delivers a consistent experience for the customer. It's well stocked, clean, and well lit with friendly enough staff. I gave this location 4 instead of 3 stars because of the vital role it played in post Katrina; ordinarily I'd say a good big box experience only warrants 3 stars. read more
