Lowes in Jefferson is the worst Lowes I have EVER been to for ANY type of customer service. The head cashier and Ciji, the store assistant GM are terrible. They couldn't process an online order if they were in a paper bag with both ends cut. They refuse to give Lowes.com orders a receipt. ALL the other Lowes do. I just spent 23 fruitless minutes on the phone having three separate conversations with different Lowe's personnel, interspersed with long stretches of muzak for my listening pleasure. Conversations #2 and #3 were pretty pointed on my end, emphasizing that I had been on hold for 6-8 minutes (#2) or 15-20+ minutes (#3) and asking not to be consigned once again to endless boredom in the musical waiting room. But that would be asking too much of the Lowe's store at 121 Jefferson Highway. After this third interchange with Lowe's personnel, I was assured that my transfer to the next person would be only a short time on hold (not true), and after another 2-3 minutes of listening to muzak, the store terminated the call with a beep-beep-beep that told me our visit was over. I am going to spend about 20 minutes writing my first Yelp review, and I can assure you the time will be far more productive than the 23 minutes I spent on the phone with Lowe's. I could have accepted with good grace an explanation from store personnel that their computers just weren't cooperating today. I could have accepted an explanation that the person I was talking to didn't have the technical info I needed, followed by a prompt transfer to someone who did. I could have accepted with gratitude an offer to take my cell number and have someone call me back. None of that happened. And although they did get my cell number (several times with different personnel) in the course of our three phone conversations, no one at Lowe's troubled themselves to get back to me after the store unceremoniously ended our call at 23 minutes and counting. This multi-billion enterprise should be capable of programming its phone system to alert someone when a caller has been waiting more than 2-3 minutes in the muzak room. I suppose it's inappropriate to accuse an indifferent monolith of "rudeness," but that's my predominant emotion after spending too much of Saturday morning on the phone. Newsflash! Just as I was writing the last sentence above, I got a call on my cell phone and had a fourth, far more productive conversation with someone who actually proved both capable and polite. Thanks to her for responsible follow-up. But Lowe's still deserves every bitter word above for its incompetent phone management system and apparent indifference to the old-fashioned notion of "customer service." Now a word of critique for Yelp: I wasn't able to post this review without first being told I must "select a star rating for this business." I chose the least I could--a single star. Lowe's Home Improvement - Hardware Stores Near Me - Jefferson, Louisiana

Just a few years ago I purchased a Char Broil grill at this location. Everything went well with the purchase and delivery of the assembled grill. As others have called this particular brand I now referred to it as a Rust Bucket. It has just fallen apart from Rust after a short time and with being covered at all times it was not in use. Today I returned to replace the Rust Bucket with a new grill from a different manufacturer. After exhaustive reading of reviews I decided on my new grill. Spoke with a sales person who was very nice and professional. He made the sale of a nicely priced grill after he assured me of no charge for delivery after the new grill would be assembled at no charged. The third matter I requested was that the Rust Bucket would be taken away when the new grill would be delivered. He stated that was not a problem for a fee. I understood and stated that was reasonable and I would gladly pay the fee to have it hauled away. The deal was made and written up. I was brought to a cashier at the front of the store to make the payment. All went well until I told the young lady about the pickup fee for the old grill. She was flustered not knowing what to do. A very nice young lady who then called the manager. The manager told me that they do not pick up old grills but only old appliances. I kindly informed this person, also professional and nice, that I made the buy of this expensive grill based on the promise of assembly, free delivery, and the removal of the Rust Bucket I was sold by them just a few years ago. The manager made a phone call to verify what she told me was store policy. She confirmed that it was and I would not have the Rust Bucket removed from my property. The one problem here is not my attempt to control their store policy but that the sales person either misrepresented the store policy or just did not know what the exact policy is today. No matter what I was not told the truth and a purchase was made under false information. The result was that I am not receiving the grill I selected and the store lost out not only on the purchase of an expensive grill but of a new refrigerator we were going to also purchase. All over being told something that was not correct. Reversed the payment and left the store after a waisted afternoon at Lowe's. read more

A gentleman helped me earlier in the day, but I didn't get the paint. I had to come back later in the evening. Since the gentleman wasnt there, Bryan was super helpful. Not only did he help with my purchase, but he put the super heavy 5 gallon paint in my car. I've been coming to DIY stores for years, and this has NEVER happened. Terrible, it's 2:30 in the afternoon and there is not a single lane open to check customers out. I don't mean the check out lanes are full, I mean no one is manning the registers. The only option is the self check out which means you have to wait for the one person assigned to the self check out to run around and verify all of the items, most of which are too big to bag. Big box store for house parts, but the selection is quite good. I like to shop local, but all too often, I'm looking for some obscure screw or part. Surprise! They have it! THe doors and windows are of average quality, but you can special order and you generally get what you pay for. Wood selection varies from store to store, which is surprising. read more

I find myself going here a lot lately since my wife and I recently bought a house. It can be a chore to find someone to help you, much less know exactly what you're talking about. But they make up for it by actually going the extra mile to make sure you're satisfied. Case in point: I ordered a grill from the online site but they were sold out of it for days. Finally, after the third visit there and my wife and I getting steamed at the lack of communication, the manager there offered to give us a similar model (which turned out to be a better reviewed model) for the same price. read more

Lowes is always better than Home Depot and this one is right near my house. Problem is, when you need help, it takes an act of Congress. Where in the world are the employees? At least raggidy Home Depot has employees that are ready to help. When you do find one here, they don't work in the section you need help with, but say they will call someone. TERRIBLE. Never ever again. The sales people did not know where anything was, or what to suggest. I could probably get over that since it is a big box store. Except when the person helping you is wearing "Special Projects" on her vest.... Ah... I kinda feel like its legit to assume you know general information about small household projects. Even if no one in the store knew anything, I might even be okay with that. However, what I dont need is a side of attitude when asking for help. This is by far the worst Lowe's in the country when it comes to customer service. We bought a more expensive appliance because we needed it to be delivered the next day. While we were told it would be delivered the next day, when the next day arrived, we were told it would be another week. Gavin, the ASM, was rude. Desi, the delivery manager was beyond rude and hateful. Tiffany, the store manager, made excuses. Fortunately, in the metro area, there are plenty more stores to shop. This has been my Lowes for 10 years. The self checkouts are awful. Two of the 4 were down today. One of the same ones was down on Saturday too. Only self checkout was open. Something has changed with their system. It keeps requiring the attendant to come over. I was buying $150 of paint, hardware and plumbing supplies the process was painful. We have purchased all our appliances from this Lowes. They have so many nice employees. Roxy in the appliance department is a sweetheart and was so patient with us. We had a difficult time trying to make a final decision on our washer. She was very informative. Also the two ladies working customer service could not have been any nicer. How incompetent can you be? This is not the first time this has happened, but the worst. All I'm trying to do is buy stuff! Only one line outside of self checkout is open(I couldn't do self checkout because I have some washers... and the lady there was on the phone so she wouldn't help) So I walk up to that line, she closes it in my face and says I have to go to self checkout and the girl will help. I go back to there, she's still on the phone and she says "I can't check you out" and aggravated I go to customer service to check out, and both people there are on the phone! Talk about amateur night. The first clerk told me free delivery on a gas range. So I take a special trip in to order the item. turns out the item i was buying was just below their cut off. The first clerk was wrong. Then the next clerk said I could add another item to reach their minimum. that was incorrect also. They lost me as a customer. I highly recommend that you avoid Lowes, particularly this store on Jefferson Hwy. This is long, but beware if you order any appliances or expect that they will honor any part of an appliance order, especially delivery. I ordered a washer & dryer online in the evening of Tue Jan 2nd, making sure it was in stock at the store and that free delivery was available. The next day, Jan 3rd, I think, hmmm, before I remove the W&D from the rental unit (since the tenants were arriving that evening), let me call the 800 number and make sure I don't have to do anything else to set up the delivery for Thursday & that the order is solid. The woman is great, lets me know I should make sure the new hoses are on the order, and that I should get a call that evening between 6-9pm to set up delivery. That was approx 10:30am. At 12:30pm they called my husband at work--they are out of stock on one item & have to schedule delivery on the 10th. BUT I've already removed the W&D so the tenants (did I mention the tenants were moving in that evening and starting work on the 5th) would be a week without a W&D after moving here from another state. My husband texts me - he told the store to call me which they did not. I call the store 3 times. The operator picks up each time after many rings, transfers me to the department handling deliveries & that department lets the phone ring 25-30 times, someone picks up the phone and hangs up! 3 times! I call the 800 number. They try to help then put me through to a sales specialist, Andrew. He finds out the store miscounted the stock, canceled my order when my husband did not accept the delivery for Jan 10th! He apologies, says this is a system bug & the store can cancel the order if they make a mistake, don't have any part of the order in stock & don't have to notify anyone. Andrew sets up a NEW order with the Marrero store which have 5 in stock. He arranges for Friday aftn delivery & a 10% discount. I told him I'd rather have the W&D delivered. Today, Jan 4th, I get a call approximately 7:15am this morning from the Jefferson Hwy store to say they can deliver the set on Saturday. What?? I say no, the Jeff Hwy store canceled our order and Marrero was delivering the W&D on Friday. Jeff Hwy had no stock so 800 Customer Service set up another order with the Marrero store. She was very clipped in her conversation--she had set up a new order and would cancel it. I told her please make sure you do not cancel the Marrero order. I call 800 Customer service while getting ready for work because I had a bad feeling. The rep tells me that the Jeff Hwy order was canceled, the Marrero order is in the system, she doesn't know anything about the discount, and she can't tell me anything about the delivery. But I have an order. Or so I think. I call 800 again, thinking I'd better make sure of delivery. OMG, this time another woman tells me I have no orders in the system! I ask for a manager. I have spent so much time on the phone with this mess at LOWES I am livid, but still not screaming at them the way I am inside my head. The manager, Carl, tells me that the "system" at Lowes took the Marrero order and gave it back to the Jeff Hwy store! He doesn't know why they would call our house at 7am to let us know about a delivery on Saturday, BUT the order is not in the system and he will have to call Marrero to set up another order, make sure that we get the original price (the prices have gone up), give me my discount (which was now $20 less than Andrew gave me), and arrange for delivery. HOWEVER he would have to order it as a "pick up" then call & arrange for the delivery separately!!! When he comes back on the line, he is terribly sorry but they can't deliver until Saturday OR SUNDAY because it's been over a day. To which I replied, no it hasn't, it's been since this morning when the Jeff Hwy store canceled my order and your office knew this was a possibility. Andrew set everything up properly & now YOU are trying to tell me that Lowes is not going to take responsibility to ensure that the W&D will arrive on Friday afternoon as promised!. I said your store & office made the mistake & LOWES' process allowed this to happen. Carl kept on repeating how he was there to help & he was doing what he could. He just talked & did nothing. He talked about how good he was at his job and he trained Andrew--he made no real steps to show that he had actually made real efforts to fix the mess created by Lowes' staff, the appliance inventory count, the delivery process mess, the store's either rude or entirely understaffed employees, & offered Saturday & Sunday delivery as their only option for me. I said it was clear there would be no guarantee that on Sat or Sun I wouldn't get a call pushing the delivery off to Jan 10th, the day LOWES was trying to push on us based on their mistakes. DON'T TRUST OR USE LOWES IF YOU CAN AVOID THEM!! read more

Their delivery department SUCKS! I ordered a washer/dryer online on 8/5. It came in damaged so they had to order another one. After many phone conversations with the incompetent delivery staff, it is 8/25 and I still don't have my washer dryer. If you buy an appliance here, pick it up yourself. Otherwise, I recommend that you go somewhere, anywhere else. If Yelp would allow zero stars, that would be my rating. read more
