I'm not a fan of public laundry mats however, life happens and they come in handy. Now there a few things I look for when picking a location to wash my personal belongings. And they checked off all of my necessities and wants. The machines were mold free, the facility was bug and roach free, the dryers worked and didn't eat a whole in my pockets to get my garments dry. That savings alone puts this place at high value to me. Although there's a dryer and washer I have my eye on that I wouldn't use again but that's typical washer soap opera stuff. Bonus: they don't have that rule where you can't do this or that like you can't just dry only or you can't wash pillows etc. As long as you're not damaging the machine and overloading it you're good to go And the staff although they are serious looking in the face, they are kind and willing to assist if asked & they will try to answer your request. When you have a king comforter that your 21 year old cat just used as a litter pan, thankfully Magazine Laundromat is there with the Big Machines. The property is showing its age, with some rust on some control panels but everything still works. It's cash and coin only, so bring some bills or a bag of quarters. Seating for waiting is available, and the usual depressing daytime tv (if you're there during daytime) is playing quietly overhead. read more

I pass by this place pretty often since I live in the area and had been meaning to check it out. Well it was time for an adulting moment and needed to get my comforter and nice sheets washed but was not looking forward to the amount of time it was gonna take. My place has a communal washer/dryer but it sadly is not built to handle such a wash without it being a mess. With the ample amount of parking in their lot it was a breeze and nice to not have to park on the street. It was very open and dang they have so many machines of all sizes. I was getting ready to wash myself until lo' and behold their sigh about "washing per pound". At this laundromat they will wash for you and I was all for it due to my busy work schedule that week. It's cash only and goes about $1.15 per pound. My comforter is more of a duvet so that was a flat low rate of ten bucks! Freaking steal honestly. I was quoted to return in about 4 hours but I was very happy to hear I could go pick it up at any point after that time. There wasn't a hard pickup time. Everything was nicely folded and packaged for me and it was such a quick in-n-out experience. I'll be using this spot from now on for all my comforter washes and sheets. read more

I wrote a review here years ago and I must update!! I dropped some clothes off after vacation (yes I was being lazy) and the place has surely upgraded. Not structure wise but technology! They accept credit/debit cards now and have a system where they input your name and number into for history purposes and will send you a text when your items are ready for pickup. Thankful for this place being open on a sunday when all of my apartment laundry systems were out of commission. I came in, figured out how everything works and then went to cleaning. Only spent 2 hours at the place and I felt that was just the right amount of time to spend at a laundromat. I came by here 20 minutes before they closed and asked if I could use a drier for 10-15 minutes and the woman working there told me no. I understand they were about to close soon but my clothes were almost dry because I had laid them out to dry earlier in the day. I only needed 10-15 minutes for them to dry and I pleaded with her to let me use a drier quickly but she said no. I understand she wanted to leave but there was another person still drying and if your not going to stay open till 8 the don't advertise that you stay open till 8. Change your closing time to 7:30 if your gonna close at 7:40. Won't be going there again. read more

A well run and busy laundromat in a good location on Magazine St. Judging from the number of people I saw dropping off their laundry, they're doing a hopping wash & fold business at this location. This is a family run business, and one of the owners on my first visit never stopped moving. Large front loading washers take $1.25, and I can usually dry a large load with $1.50. It ain't pretty, and maybe you won't have the most fun here ('cause come on, you're doing laundry), but when I can get in and out under 2 hours, and have a week's worth of clean laundry for around six bucks, I'm content. And bonus; my favorite bead store and French pastry shop are just across the street. Plus, there's free parking. read more

I've washed a lot of dirty drawers in this and many other towns, and poopstains all come out the same, but the irritation of hubbub and crying around you can make that shit do or die. If you're not a boob you know to only do laundry during school hours and never on the weekend. It's just asking for trouble. Also, new New Orleanians need to know that Monday is our laundry day, hence the red beans and rice Mondays. Simmer down now. This place was my laundry of choice when i needed it for 3 main reasons and any number of smaller ones irrelevant to most of the rest of world: 1. Local, Vietnamese owned. Yup, i drive a honda. what of it? 2.Trustworthy staff. The end of the review will shine this one. 3.Parking, food, cornerstore, drugs, bars, spas, and tattoos are but feet away. If you're going to sit around a laundry all day, might as well have some things to occupy your idleness. And if you bring a book or work, theres ample seating and light to guide your way. The 5th star comes from the DROP OFF SERVICE. By-the-pound (smart business model; easy for you to save money by sorting a little better), they'll take your junk in a jiff (best to bring in a garbage bag cause it don't weigh nothing) and a day later its ready, pressed and folded anally (heh), ready for you to put your drawers on. This is where the trustworthy story comes in. I've used the drop-off service many times, usually when i was either ballin' or just too damn lazy to deal. In one of the former times, i'll admit i was drinking a bit much (and in this neighborhood that's saying something), so there's no excuse, i happened to leave my laundry with all my rent and bill money still folded in a deposit slip in my pants pocket, and of course i didn't even notice. So i get the laundry the next day and right there, on the pile, wrapped in the plastic bag like it was nothing was my 1800 simoleons, stacked as neatly as the socks and underwear they were placed upon. The lady who handed me my laundry back said "be careful next time" with a smile, and she never said another word about it since. I'd have never known where that money went without that clearly nonchalant and true bit of honesty. Never even mind my clothes felt looked and smelled fresh and Mommed. However, I can say my experience was quite good: clean cordial attendant large capacity dryers ad washers Now, I went on a Saturday AM. Almost exactly at 10AM, as I was finishing up, the place filled with families and those getting a late start to the morning. It also seemed that was the point the AC stopped working. My experience was with wash and fold. I had a new washing machine delivered to my house that ended up being defective and flooding my laundry room while washing clothes. As you can imagine I had tons of soaking wet towels and clothes. I showed up desperate at wash and fold and she was so kind. She washed and dried my clothes before weighing them which saved my tons of money. What was an extremely stressful morning was a little better after I had clean laundry returned to me in 4 hours neatly folded. Customer for life. read more

I visited this laundromat for the first time since the one I normally go to was packed. I'm glad I did because it was empty. The place is so huge so it's easy to get a washer and dryer. I like the fact that there's a coin machine on hand. The only downside is they are a little pricier than other laundromats, but it was definitely peaceful. read more

3.5/5 for what it is. alright. this is a laundromat. if you are looking for a michelin star experience, you cray. if you are looking for a reasonably priced wash and dry with lots of machines, then you can find that here. i've never had trouble finding one of the big machines to use, which will run you $4.25 for a long wash that can easily tackle many piles of clothing. many carts to run from machine to machine, and to many folding tables. TVs will allow you to get your saints and socks going at the same time. read more

I've been using the wash and fold service here for over a year, love it! Things are usually done same-day, or occasionally next-day (usually if drop-off is after 3pm or if they're very busy). Both of the women who work there are always very nice. In a over year I've had one small issue, which was partly my fault- they called and said a white shirt had gone in with a green one and been dyed light green, and asked if I wanted them to bleach it. Not thinking I said yes- and arrived to find that it had originally been a light green shirt I'd forgotten was in the wash. So that after a year I don't consider a problem. Especially since they handled it so well. I also love that the price includes detergent and softener, and they have unscented products they'll use instead if you request it for nothing added. read more

His only concern was going home. The machines didn't work correctly making my wash take twice as long. The staff, while knowing the machines weren't working correctly, wouldn't allow me to fold my clothes when they came out, because it was too close to closing and they refused to wait. - Never going there again. read more

Most of the machines were broken. The bathroom was disgusting. Extremely crowded, not much space between sitting area and the machines so you were at risk of running into people with carts when trying to load your laundry. Only one of the large washers were even working, and there were only... 4? altogether. Not much sitting space, hot... Absolutely the worst laundromat I have been to. read more

I just had the worst experience ever at this place! As I'm putting my money into the machine I realize it stopped counting my quarters, I asked the attendant for help and she stuck a knife in it and told me I still owed more quarters. After trying to explain that it hadn't counted my change properly she continued practically yelling at me that I still owed 7 quarters. ***DON'T USE THIS PLACE!!!*** I took advice from Yelpers and decided to go here because of the price and the remarks saying they are reliable. 14 lbs of laundry which came to $14. I was happy about the price BUT I knew something was off when I walked in. When I returned to pick my laundry up it was folded nicely in a bag. When I came home and UNFOLDED the laundry it was totally ruined with black streaks and dried old soap up and down my sheets and ALL my clothes!! who ever took it out MUST have seen this and just folded it right up anyway. The pants I left for dry cleaning were " accidentally washed". I called and asked to speak to a manager and they refused to give me his number and said he is there every Thursday from 9am-3pm THESE ARE my work hours. there is no way to contact him or for them to fix it without him seeing the clothes AND meeting me. The woman LAUGHED when I asked if they reimburse. I had two huge comforters that needed washing. The lady behind the counter did nothing but smile and ask my instructions for washing:ie, bleach no bleach. They were washed, dried, and folded neatly, all in 2 hours. They smelled great for over a week. Some may think $20 for 2 comforters is high, but considering how clean they were and how wonderful they smelled, it was totally worth it. They did an awesome job. So good, that when I finish writing this review, I am dropping off my regular laundry!!! read more

I've been using their wash and fold service now for about a year. It's priced right at $1.00/pound. They have been consistent with good service and timeliness. I haven't noticed anything missing. If I drop off at 9am it is usually ready to pick up by 2pm. I'm always greeted with a smile, but that may be because I tip them a little each time. My only complaints are...they are cash only which can be an inconvenience since there are no ATM's really close by. Also, sometimes my darks come out a little faded after multiple washings. Not sure if it's the detergent they use or what. Not really a big deal for me, but thought it was worth mentioning. Overall, they are close, provide a good service and haven't lost anything, so I'll continue to use them. read more

One day I needed to remove an entire load out of an XL washing machine because the start button was so worn off and it wouldn't start.
