The best staff person in this Lowe's location is Lee in Windows department, she helped me get my window coverings (blinds and shades) at reasonable price, during holiday season last year, and she is still there. : ) They have wide variety of window cover brands and Levolor, is great quality w/o breaking your wallet. They also had Lowe's Professional Installation team, which is a 3rd party contract service provided by Seattle Blinds and they came out and did all the measurements prior to consultation and then once my products arrived at home, I just had to schedule them to come out and install them in. All payments done thru Lowe's and it was hassle-free for me. I like that Lowe's provide free consultation and estimates for various home improvements projects such as HVAC, plumbing that can be pricey, you can ask about different products and whether you feel their service price is high/average, it still gives you good starting point what to expect for estimate. I will say I think this, I think that lowes is way better then other home improvement stores. It was a little frustrating that they couldn't help me find a sheet of rubber that their website says they have. I asked multiple employees and they all sent me to different parts of the store. No one knew what they were doing... That would have got them 2 stars cause I was frustrated... Then we met Rhonda she was working the self check out which was also not working for us, and she was an angel. She fixed the machine, was super sweet, and honestly turned my whole day around. What ever they are paying her it isn't enough. She even noticed my wife was having a hot flash, and gave her a water and a handkerchiefs to wipe the sweat from her eyes. Just left Lowe's. Young couple waited shyly at the paint department. No one was in sight to help. So I asked the lady at customer service for assistance. Wow! Was she snotty! Yes I realize she had a customer but did she have to be so rude? I get interrupted at work all the time but still manage to be polite. She didn't call for help. An employee happened to be walking past. He was very nice and helped the customer. Home Depot is always busy. Lowe's is slow with a lot of employees walking around. So the selection was OK, people are nice, I actually had an employee ask me if I found everything. Kudos. I did question the wisdom of running a floor cleaner up the middle thoroughfare at 8:30 in the morning. Sure it's maybe a little less crowded, but is it worth the risk of exposure to a slip or fall with it leaving a light coating of slime behind on the hard polished concrete floor? Surrounded by sharp metal shelves? Not to mention the probable need for maintenance on that machine, the high-pitched whistle coming out of the back of it. surely exceeded 85 dBs. I placed an order on November 20th 2023. their website said that it would be available for pickup on December the 5th. on December the 5th I checked the website and they said that it was available for pickup. it was not. I finally got through to someone at the local store who gave me the FedEx tracking number. and now appears that it might be available for pickup. on December the 11th. I chatted with their AI chatbot. The chat bot told me it was probably available for pickup. it was not. I spent over 30 years in the construction business dealing with a multitude of vendors. Horrible delivery service! Bought a high end refrigerator and paid for delivery and install. The delivery drivers didn't even remove all the Styrofoam and tape, didn't level the fridge, and left a huge mess in my kitchen! The worst possible service! Going here was horrible. We went to use the bathroom, there were MANY stalls. I chose the 4th one to go into. Well, after realizing I had no toilet paper, thinking I'd use a toilet seat cover. None. Moved over stall, to stall, to stall... still no toilet paper or seat covers. That was infuriating. Being on my period, pooping, because that's what all humans do, and still having no toilet paper. Wow. Then we went to look for the part we came to get. They only had 1 option, that wound up being off brand and Over priced. After decades of spending thousands and thousands of dollars at Lowe's and knowing customer service reps by name, I'm switching to Home Depot or anywhere else. I ordered 50 red bricks for same-day delivery and received an email stating the order was ready and would arrive that day. Received texts that the order would come tomorrow. It's evening. Spent 45 minutes on hold. They lied 3 times. They said they lost the order. The store said the bricks were sitting in the warehouse. Then they said I was too far away. I'm 15 minutes away and they've delivered before. Then they said I was supposed to pick it up the bricks. 3 times I said that I had a car that can't handle 50 bricks. Then they said to either pick them up or cancel. I deleted the app, and decided that if they would lie and not deliver on their promise after I've spent so much money over the years, I'll go out of my way to avoid them. They no longer have delivery trucks so if their "instacart" driver doesn't want to deliver long boards or red brick, your "same-day" delivery order sits on a pallet for days! read more

These are most stupid idiots I have ever came across. First I ordered a washer and a pedestal washer from them online. Their delivery process and how they keep you updated is horrible. On top of that when they delivered it they installed both my washer and my pedestal washer incorrectly that led to a massive leak. Been to this Lowe's on several different occasions and always received assistance and help. Though it was minor inquiries and help with getting a vanity. It was still a good Lowe's and I preferred it over Home Depot. But after my experience in January 2023, I think I'll pass on shopping here. We went in looking for a dishwasher. Not to order a dishwasher, but to buy one, that day. I checked the inventory online before I went so to make sure that I would walk out with a dishwasher for sure. I had 2 in mind. 2 different Frigidaire, and a Samsung. We looked at the display models and decided on a Frigidaire. Here is where the issue comes in. We called an employee over to help us get the dishwasher and right off the bat he seemed like he didn't want to be bothered. He told us that the dishwasher wasn't in stock. Of course being bummed out we decided to leave but while leaving we saw a whirlpool that I fell in love with!! It also had a tag on it that said "in stock". I asked the employee to get the whirlpool and he said he didn't think they had it in stock despite the tag. So he goes back to look. As he's looking, another employee asks us if we need any help to which we inform him as to why we are waiting. He then assures us that they have the whirlpool and maybe the other employee is taking long because he has to climb the ladder. None the less, we wait. About 10 minutes pass and he comes and tells us that they don't have it. At this point I'm irritated because I could tell that he didn't want to help. He kept trying to convince me to "just order online". We leave the store and sit in the parking lot as I start the online order, but there's an issue, the dishwasher is about $40 more online. SO BACK IN THE STORE WE GO!!! I go back to appliances to ask for a price match since the only price was more than the in person price. As I am explaining this, another employee looks of the dishwasher and says "I'm sure we have this back there. Wait and I'll have someone help you" we wait and then wait more for the woman that was helping us. I suppose she got a distracted, who knows, but she told us that she knows they have it in the back because she saw it. She goes back and I kid you not, comes back within 3 minutes and asks us if we need help getting it and walked us to the register. I told her about the previous encounter and she said "idk how he didn't see it. It was right there". That confirmed the feeling I was having when we first approached him. Bottom line: it has what you need (maybe) but it's probably worth more your time shopping through their website. That's where they will point you to if they don't have something in stock. Hardware and Items: this particular Lakewood store is relatively big but they do not keep a lot of inventory in their warehouse. Also, for some reason, they are not able to transfer items they don't have from one regional store to another (ie their Seattle store to Lakewood or vice-versa). So if you're looking for something particular and they are out of that item.. the employees will just go to their website and let you know which store may be carrying that item or will help you order it through their website. Service/Pickup/Return counter: not to mince words: it's not good. In my opinion, it's probably the most inefficient part of the store. They normally have one person working pickup and return and the line gets longer because each customer has an unique issue. Most of the time, they are awaiting permission from their senior cashier... who, from what I've seen, takes her time. (Although, Ill admit there's probably more going on in the background but if the store only has couple of registers and a backed up line in returns... I mean... come on...) So yes. It was a frustrating experience x 3 separate visits to this place. It's not bad for small hardware pickup but beware of the slow service and checkout/return. read more

Came in looking at patio furniture and saw a wicker loveseat to the side, the very last one, with a dark blue cushion. Unknowing the cushion didn't come with (since that's how it was displayed) my husband and I went to check out only to be bashed. The lady got upset stating that we didn't try and pay for the cushion and I was confused. I was more than okay with paying for it (as we did) but didn't even know it was separate. She said "that's not even the color it comes with" which made me wonder then where the actual cushion was but whatever. Also for military, you can get a discount as long as you sign up with Lowe's beforehand. If not don't even bother. Home depot 100% is the better option, because I never thought we would be in trouble for not knowing something wasn't apart of an item that the store put together. read more

I'm updating my review. Since my last review, I can see Lowe's has made some huge improvements and I wanted to recognize that change and commend them. Last month (October) I ended up having to go to Lowe's after Home Depot told me they no longer carried Minwax stain products as Lowe's now has an agreement with them. I had already stained half of my floors and wanted them to match so I needed the Minwax. Off to Lowe's I went. Staff actually acknowledged me and were nice. All of them, not just one person. I couldn't help but notice then that I didn't recognize any off the staff from any of my bad experiences at the store and wondered if they'd gone and hired all new people. I ended up making about 3 stops at Lowe's that weekend for my home remodeling projects. Each time, I had good customer service. I went back this morning just after 6AM for Black Friday shopping. I had failed to notice that the first 300 people in the door would receive a coupon for $10 off a $50 purchase , but there was a smiling face at the door who turned around, saw me, and rushed over to give me the coupon so she didn't miss me and so I wouldn't miss out. Later, I was in the back of the store and a kind man came over to me with a big smile and offered to help get my items in my cart for me. I was blown away, because I'd just never received this kind of quality service from Lowe's before. Now, even though it was Black Friday, the store wasn't really busy. However, I know how difficult it can be for people in customer service on a day like this, because customers aren't always at their best and the employees are often at the stores hours in advance to get the store ready for customers. The fact that I was receiving such great service really was quite amazing to me. Especially with all the horrible service I'd had in the past. Before today, I'd never had a Lowe's employee go out of their way to ask if I needed assistance with anything. I quickly finished my shopping and went to stand in line. While I was waiting, another employee was walking by and smiled at me, asking if I'd found everything ok. I was so shocked I wasn't even sure he was talking to me at first! All I could do was not and smile before he was on his way. I'm sure he thought I was a crazy lady! When I got to the front of the line, my cashier had a smile on her face, was friendly and quick. The store overall was nicely set up for Black Friday. I noticed they had a Santa and Mrs. Clause with cookies towards the entrance, but I didn't stop as a family was taking a group photo. I thought it was so cute of them to go the extra mile. I was able to get some great deals for my home and Christmas gifts for others. As noted, I can see something dramatically changed with the customer service at Lowe's and I want to acknowledge that. I am much more likely to stop in again knowing this change has been made. My husband bought a new washer dryer set and it was the worst customer service, Keith was our sales person. I would not recommend Lowes in Lakewood. I did try and cancel our order. Even though we have a beautiful washer and dryer with added prices of the hoses that Keith failed to mention to us for rhw poor service i would have preferred not go through the hassel and lack of care from our saleman. We got our delivery 5 days late then they installed in incorrectly and still have to come back to install correctly after gettibg the run around we finally got a manager. Purchased tile for a bathroom remodel October 11th 2020. Construction start date 11/1 In the middle of the bathroom remodel our contractor got Covid, who gave it to us. Over three weeks of quarantine with no shower or tub, one bathroom in the house) I called the Lakewood Lowe's during Covid and spoke with the customer service department. Specifically asking about retune dates because we where stuck in quarantine and the project was already almost a month and 1/2 over. I was told they were pretty "chill" and they would accept the tiles. Well that was wrong. Tried to return them on 1/11/2021 3 days after the bathroom was completed. Spoke to the Lakewood manager. She didn't care. It's not like we tried to swindle them. The tiles were less then $100 worth. We where out of work, out of a bathroom and had no way of getting the project done in time. We are in the middle of one of the worst times of time across the world and we really thought a place like Lowe's would understand. It's a big, relatively clean store with a decent selection. The customer service, however, is AWFUL. If you can even find an employee to help you, they are rude and generally unhelpful. For the military folks, make sure you ask over and over that they've applied the discount because otherwise you won't actually receive it. The car carts for children all have missing steering wheels and broken seat belts. If you know exactly what you want, where to find it, and don't need an employee to assist you in any way you might come out ok. Otherwise I would steer clear of here. read more

It's always been like that, then I end up buying plants and other things I didn't plan to buy. The worst thing is that there's never available worker to help you. "Your delivery installers will be there between 3 and 7." That's a lie. You don't even have the product in stock. At this point, I'll be happy if I never see the inside of this clown-factory again. It's a mixed bag here. Most of the managers - Josh, Finley, April - know their stuff and are very cool to work with. The problem is when you have to deal with the underlings - turnover is off the charts here. So if you get a regular worker, you're humped. We had just purchased a home and it came with a huge back yard. We always wanted those big covered gazebos with a table set. We stopped here at Lowe's because they were having a sale on them. We found the perfect one and inquired about it getting assembled upon delivery. We were told that they don't offer assembly and that it would take more than 6 people to get it set up if we were to do it on our own without professional help. Well the table, chairs and gazebo were delivered a week later and the delivery people informed us that we could have added an assembly option just with an added cost. We were disappointed after the fact but figured there was nothing we could do at that point since we couldn't add it on anymore. After letting it sit for a few days I decided to try to put the table, chairs and gazebo together myself but ended up enlisting the help of my 11 year old and we were able to get it all set up within 3 hours. And on top of that, I was 7 months pregnant. Lowe's employees need to all be on the same page when it comes to things like this. It may have just been one of those days where the employee just didn't know and didn't want to take the extra time to ask, or was having a bad day, but it cost Lowe's some extra money for sure. I bought a refrigerator at lowes and it was set to be delivered in about a week. Within that week the refrigerator that we were replacing had came back to life so I got a refund a couple days later. I had paid about 1800 in cash and the rest on credit, and customer service didn't have the cash to refund me so I had to come back in 3 hours or so. Long story short, 3 stars is for the customer service associate named Alek. He was awesome and patient. I can tell he was a bit overwhelmed, but he didn't take it out on us. And the manager T was awesome too. Not five stars because getting help at the appliance section was non existent and the person who rung me up for the refrigerator was scatter brained. read more

People at the register have bad attitudes, and anyone you ask for help from in the store makes you feel like you're bothering them. I stood in line for like ten minutes while the cashier, who was the only one open, helped a couple search for a grill. She was helpful for them, calling multiple people, but there were three other employees at the next register chatting it up, instead of opening a second register, or god forbid, help the people that were searching for an item. 5 stars for great service in store and out. This store is clean and items well displayed. Occasionally around 4-5pm it's hard to find the store personnel in a few areas, but there is always someone that can help or find someone who can. I recently had windows, blinds and gutters installed by Lowes and I was really impressed. The pros/associates who assisted me, Tracy (blinds) and Kim (gutters and windows) both did impressive jobs. Excellent follow up as well. Ease of estimate: excellent Ease of purchase: excellent Install: excellent, contractors were clean, efficient and professional.
