You come home, and find out your appliance isn't working. (For me, it was the clothes dryer.) Such a bummer... you go a few days like this, as you don't have the time to research someone. Clothes (or dishes, or whatever) are piling up. You just want this done FAST.. This was me last week. And amazingly, Jack's Appliance Repair came through so fast it made my head spin. Same day? Who does that!? So he comes by, diagnosed the problem within 15 minutes, and said he could get the necessary part by tomorrow in Tacoma. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Jack's repair was the first to respond.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He told me the price is a "flat rate of $110" and can come out right away. So I took up his offer. I had an issue with my dryer. It was heating but it was making some weird noise after I cleaned the lint vent. So I must've did something wrong. Anyways, they came out at the expected time and within 15 min he was done and fixed the issue. He dissembled the front part of the dryer where the lint vent was and removed all the lint. He said that there was lint that was pushed down the lint vent (that was me). If we kept using the dryer with that sound we would've caused more problems. So within 15 min, he made $250. $110 for the service fee or diagnostic and then labor and parts. Even though we didn't need any parts. So basically labor and his expertise. So $110 is on top of what needs to be prepared. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I'm ambivalent about recommending because we did have a positive experience with him and I'm thankful that we got our dryer fixed, however, I was blindsided by the additional charge, since the communication was "$110 flat rate".[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] $250 is pretty steep but his service was great. Poor service and pricing. Without even pulling apart the cover on the dryer and inspecting they said a new motor is needed when the dryer still was producing heat and working. Just making a weird rumbling sound. Didn't appreciate being charged a service fee for work that included him pulling out the dryer vent and sticking a flashlight around. I called on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and Jack was able to make it out to my house by Friday afternoon to replace the gasket in my front loader washing machine. The job was a little more complicated due to our machines being stacked and needing to be shifted without much room to work with, but he got it done and kept to the quoted price which was already a very fair price. Our oven wasn't reaching or holding its temperature and we finally gave up dealing with it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I found Jack's Appliance Repair here on Yelp and within 20 minutes arrangement were confirmed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our repairman showed up on time, promptly got to work, and blessedly did not comment (or audibly) judge us for the condition of the floor under the stove. Our oven temperature was tested, corrected, and now works perfectly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Plus, now we know how to fix it if it gets out of kilter again.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Whole thing took about an hour. The $165 it cost was far less expensive than buying a new stove, which we were worried about. He even peeked at our dryer to see if anything was wrong with it besides a coin that ended up inside the fins and rattles constantly when in use. We'll just continue to live with that one. VERY MISLEADING!! I'm disappointed that Bob said there was a flat rate of $110 but when Eugene came out he charged $220 for about 20 minutes worth of work unclogging a dishwasher. I called Bob to confirm the amount and he said they charge a minimum of $200 for anything that needs to be done no matter how small. They shouldn't say $110 then if they are going to charge $220 minimum. read more

Leaking dishwasher. DIY-Ed the seals and parts that typically wear out, but it kept leaking. We had our tech over within 45 minutes, he was not super talkative but that's okay. He took it apart adjusted the seals that we put in. Turns out a part we replaced that has nothing todo with the seals was broken. It was a cheap replacement done prior to the leaking that was malfunctioning. We would never have figured out that this improperly spraying spray arm was causing the leak. He showed us the broken/not working properly part got us a new one the next day and we have had not leaks. Again we would never have guessed this other part was causing the issue. All in, with part and base fee was $180. Glad we called. read more
