If you plan to purchase an appliance from Lowe's do not use CRST Home Solutions for installation. Not only did they not call the night before to confirm a time for installation and delivery, but I had to call them the next day to find out when they were coming. I was told they couldn't make it and would I like to reschedule which was not happening. The worst customer service and beyond inconsiderate. While Lowe's may not be directly responsible, their reputation is tarnished by using them. I will never return to Lowe's. read more

Do not buy any appliance at Lowe's -- We bought a refrigerator from them and they hire 3rd party contractors who cannot disengage the previous refrigerator's water hose, meaning they couldn't complete the job. They left the refrigerator in our family room. We shut our water off and disengaged the water hose and scheduled them to come back. They sent a text confirmation with a delivery window, when I called to ask where they were -- they said the job had been cancelled by Lowe's. Poorly run store deserves to close. Incompetent and Inefficient. No one in Gardening on a Sunday to load large amount of material, and no one at register to ask for help. Walked through entire empty store looking for help until found someone at far register who wouldn't get us help without our identifying in pictures on his register what we needed to buy and then said he would find us someone. This was already taking so long that we decided to do a purchase now to be picked up the next day. Returned late next day to be sure it would be ready; they processed our paperwork at the pickup site but said we'd have to drive down to Gardening section for actual pickup, where no one knew anything about it. We waited while guy strolls all the way back down to Pickup to ask about it and then back to tell us they'll first have to load it up from far end of Gardening because it isn't ready. I demanded a refund and won't go back. They think it's fine to waste two hours of my time over the course of two days. read more

The most HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE I've ever had! We bought a new Samsung washing machine on Wed. May 10th from Lowe's St. Charles store to be delivered Friday May 12th. The 2 delivery persons show up and REFUSE to move our old washer 20 feet into our garage and REFUSE to connect to our existing hoses, which we only bought 2 months prior FROM LOWE'S O'FALLON STORE! None of this was made clear to my wife. We are Sr. Citizens with 2 downs syndrome kids. So delivery guys take new washer. I called Lowe's and after much waiting agreed to the extortion of paying $32 for 2 new hoses just to get the new washer in. They refused to come back. I spoke to the delivery driver and HE REFUSED to come back after only being here 45 minutes prior. So to recap, Lowe's has NO RESPECT FOR SR CITIZENS OR SPECIAL NEEDS KIDS! I encourage folks reading this to buy elsewhere and if you have orders now pending CANCEL and demand REFUNDS. Their excuses that everything is 3rd party are just that, excuses! I really enjoy Lowe's. First, unlike their orange competitor, they allow dogs! Second, it's kept pretty clean, especially for a place that has birds flying around the rafters. Third, they have a good selection across all their different departments. I've found everything from a couple brushes nickel knobs for a bathroom cabinet to wall paint to light fixtures. When it came time to replace the broken-down washer & dryer, I did plenty of research and found the best deal online at Lowe's. They delivered them and hauled away the old ones, no troubles for me. Now if only my dishwasher would completely break down so I could replace that old thing. Lowe's plants are usually pretty nice, too. They do come with a guarantee, so if you're willing to hold on to receipts and pots/labels, it's worth it. They also have some great tiny succulents in the summer. I usually have a few of those around the house. One has actually grown into a huge, thriving plant that gets loads of compliments. That 99-cent investment would sell for $50+ now. The only drawback to Lowe's is the checkout process. It can be slow, whether you are doing it yourself or a cashier is doing it for you (should you happen to find a line that's not too long.) But if you want to avoid lines altogether, try their app. It's pretty great. You can buy online and pickup in-store (or have it shipped if items aren't available in store; we try to support the local store when we can). Or even better, have your spouse pick up your order for you! My hubby was surprised at how easy it was (and maybe a little disappointed he didn't have an excuse to wander around.) read more

Rarely have I had such a nightmare of an ongoing experience with a store such as this. On April 17th I ordered a countertop from this Lowe's. It wasn't a complicated piece, just a straight, plain Jane laminate countertop. I was told it would be ready in 2-3 weeks and I thought, awesome! After 3 weeks I called and said hey, where's my countertop? I was told there was "a glitch" in the system and they had to contact the manufacturer. A glitch? Do we live in the matrix? No, the guy forgot to order my countertop. Ok fine, a couple more weeks right? Between May 4th and June 28th I called the store each week, multiple times a week, to find out where the hell my countertop was. The guy who works in the cabinet/countertop section- the only guy who works in this section- told me day in and day out he would call or email me once he heard from the vendor, had a delivery date, or anything to give me some info. Guess how many calls or emails I was returned? Zero. This toolbag blew smoke up my ass 2 months and I never got a straight answer. I had to resort to prodding managers and customer service reps to get any details on this order. "It was ordered on this day, but they ordered it wrong and it had to be reordered", "the initial order date was 3 weeks after I placed it" confirming my suspicions they forgot to order it at the beginning. It's June 28th and I still don't have a countertop. I have yet to get a call or email from the guy who promised repeatedly to do so. Did I mention customer service recommended we schedule an appointment with him to find out what is going on? We did, and he was a no show. Waited around and hr and left. I love this location for getting: light bulbs, house plants, annuals, house numbers, plumbing supplies, paint, doors, bird feeders and more. This visit, I went in for a leaf blower and some hanging plants. I found a corded Black & Decker model I liked immediately. I was pleased to see each of the available models, of all brands, out on display, where they could be handled and compared. Lowe's is my go-to home supply store. I live right down the street from 2 awesome big box stores not named Lowes, but the only place we could find exterior French doors we like as well as a replacement vanity for our bathroom was this Lowes store, unfortunately. THE DOOR STORY We had the Lowes rep com out and measure for doors in April of 2022. We paid almost $7,000 for the doors at that time and were told they were behind on installs due to labor shortages but we would be contacted to schedule install as soon as possible. About a week after he left we received a call from the door manufacturer to ask a question regarding trim preferences on the doors. Normally they would reach out to the Lowes rep but they had been trying that for a week with no communication on behalf of Lowes. After answering their question they told me my doors would be delivered to Lowes in the next 10 days. Fast forward to this week Monday.... It's been almost exactly 6 months since the door arrived at Lowes and still no install scheduled. I called the rep and he told me he no longer works for that particular store but that someone should have called me ages ago. He would call the store for me and make sure someone contacted me ASAP. 5 days later, Friday, and still no contact. I called the store today and the person in the door department couldn't' tell me anything except that absolutely nothing had been done on m y order! He then told me to call back around noon today and ask for a manager. I most certainly will, but it won't change my review so here I am...warning you...shop ANYWHERE else but this Lowes store. THE VANITY STORY We bought a vanity about a month about online from Lowes, had it delivered to this Lowes. We picked it up but did not open the box. When we got home and opened it we found that one of the drawers was damaged. We called the store and the GM himself said he would order a new vanity and when it came in we could swap drawers. I wish I took the time to comb through the reviews before finalizing my $950+ purchase! After Lowes receives your money, they don't care when you'll get your product, promises will be made that can't be kept, and no one genuinely cares. When they try to deescalate the situation, it's like they're reading from a script. It's very pathetic! If Lowes can't hold up their end of the deal, I feel like something should be done promptly. I purchased a washer on August 30, 2022 , and it was supposed to be delivered September 5, 2022, someone from the Lowes store called me the day before to discuss the delivery times and the representative gave me the estimated time 2:30-6:30pm on the 5th , so I took of work expecting to receive the washer. They ended up doing a no call, no show on the 5th, so I called them around 6:20pm, and called to get the status of my deliver, they told me that the delivery drivers marked my shipment as none delivered, but didn't explain why. The manager had my delivery rescheduled for today the 13th, promised me that , the previous situation wouldn't take place again, so I called off work again, which I was skeptical of, but I went ahead and agreed to it, and they called this morning to reschedule once again! At this point I feel like I will never get what I paid for , so I have no choice but to take my business else where! They have my money, but I don't have the product! UPDATE - I ended up coming up to the location to get my situation rectified because over the phone just wasn't doing it, I came up here and Angie took care of me like she would her family. Just left the store and I'm on my way elsewhere. Tried to buy paint and there were 6 people in front of me with a 20 minute wait just to have a pre made paint shaken. Get to checkout and there in ONE register open with long line. Self checkout? 4 open, rest closed as no staff to monitor. So a single item can take 45 min to get thru all the lines. used to be a good store where you could get help.... read more

The best thing I can say about Lowe's is that it's close to home. The benefit to that is that we can buy large items, and put them in the trunk to take home without going on the highway. Other than that, unless you know what you're looking for, the help here is pretty worthless. I wanted to stain my deck for the first time, so I asked the guy working in the paint and stain department. He walked me over to the area and said, "Let's read the can...." I could do that myself! I wanted an expert to help me choose. Fortunately, I decided to go to Home Depot and the person there gave me great help - almost as if he'd stained his own deck with everything in the department! Second story - we wanted to buy a shed. The shed at Lowe's were flimsy and expensive and nobody there knew a thing about them. I was asked to call a shed salesperson on her phone for information. Never, ever will buy from Lowe's again. Bought a new microwave. The delivery driver came to install it. He refused to install it because he said it was below code because the cabinet was 1/4 in too low. The microwave is an over the stove model. I explained to him that Lowe's had installed the exact same size 2 years ago and have the codes changed. He said the codes had not changed but every company is different. WTH? So I sent the microwave back. I went in for a refund and it took 1 1/2 hours to get the price of the microwave, installation fee, removal fee refunded. They had put it on 3 separate charges so we had to go through the refund process 3 different times. The entire transaction was ridiculous and I'll not give them any more chances. read more

My opinion of Lowe's has tanked thanks to an appliance purchase and horrible delivery team - in and out 5 minutes to deliver and set up a washer and dryer. First machine was set up incorrectly, leading to draining issues. Repair tech came out and said it was defective. Had to wait another 5 days before I could get a new washing machine. Second one showed up 2 1/2 hours before the delivery window, and still, the driver refused to stay for 5 minutes to let me start a load. The washer is now dripping from the fill hose 24 hours a day, even when off, and still not draining. Will never buy something that needs to be installed from Lowe's again. read more

Customer service is worse than non-existent. Lowes sells Kobalt outdoor tools, saying they have a 3 year warranty. They will not make good on the warranty. They have a copy of the reciept in "My Lowes" but can't find it. or anything older than 90 days. They want a photo of the data sticker on the item which IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PHOTOGRAPH DUE TO IT BEING LOCATED UNDER A HANDLE. I will never buy anything from Lowe's ever again. read more

I worked with Randy in the installation department. He was one of the best guys I've ever worked with! Right from the beginning, he made sure I knew all my options, including where and how to save the most money on my project. Randy was not content to make mere recommendations, he also took the granite and cabinet samples off the wall at Lowe's and held them up next to my faucet so I could see how everything would look together! When I ran into problems with my project, I then worked with Tom, also in Installation, and he was equally excellent. They helped me make decisions, worked with me to find the best solutions, and just generally found a way to make things happen. When I ran into a problem with the granite company's scheduling, they helped me figure out where the issue was. I was really impressed by their willingness to go above and beyond, and I ended up opening a Lowe's account because I now plan on going here for all my house needs. And I was a Home Depot gal before!! read more

It really can't get much worse. This store is only a few block from my house but will drive 3 more miles to the Home Depot. Why? Because this store refuses to hire enough associates. Refuses. I've called and talk to the managers over the years. Even have called the corporate store. Their excuses are we can't find employees etc. well maybe it's because you aren't taking care of them?? All of our local grocery stores have 5-10 cashiers at any given time, but Lowe's a multi billion dollar chain can't hire more than one cashier for a Weekend day? Lowe's or Home Depot...Home Depot or Lowe's...that is the question. When you look for a big box home improvement store in St. Charles, these are the two behemoths you end up choosing between. While each location provides you with a myriad of employee attitudes and knowledge levels, you can always count on wandering around looking for what you need far longer than it takes to pick it out when you finally get there. That aside, here is my opinion: 1) Lowe's has a better tool section. 2) Lowe's has a better overall layout. 3) Lowe's has a better kitchen area/appliance area. 4) Lowe's has had better customer service most of the time. 5) Lowe's has a better grill and outdoor equipment selection. 6) Lowe's has a better generator selection. While on the other hand: 1) The Home Depot usually has slightly better pricing. 2) The Home Depot has a better selection of fencing, fans and exterior lighting. 3) The Home Depot has had better wood 5 out of 9 times so far. 4) The Home Depot has a better softener salt selection/availability. 5) The Home Depot has a better outdoors section. Now these are my opinions firsthand. I always go to both before I purchase at whichever one I think is better for that particular reason. I stopped in here on the way home from a bike ride to buy light bulbs for the kitchen, basement, and porch. (we have a few bulbs out around the house!) I never expected to spend $93 on light bulbs, but that's what my bill came to. (crazy!) The 3 star rating isn't a reflection of the prices though. I bought roughly 25 bulbs, so I cannot complain too much. The 3 stars is more because of the fact that I never use this place. It's hard to rate a place based only on a major light bulb purchase. However, as easy a purchase as it should have been, I spent a long while looking at bulbs and trying to find the bulbs I needed. I never did find the bulbs I wanted, partially because the selection was so large that I couldn't decipher the differences between them all. I wanted a simple 75 or 100 watt equivalent ecobulb, but only found the 60 watt versions. After ten minutes of NOT finding what I wanted, I picked up the 60 watt bulbs and headed out. They will serve their purpose, but they weren't what I wanted. read more

I really like this Lowes location. I have purchased two refrigerators from them and used their delivery service. The guys who delivered it to my new home were super nice and they took extra care not to bump anything or scratch anything. We chatted with them about moving out here and how to get the ice maker thingy working in the fridge. On a repeat trip back to the store, we saw the same guys who delivered our fridge weeks later and they inquired about how we were doing our new home. Pretty cool that they remembered us. The staff here has always been helpful and friendly. We've bought numerous items in this store, from fixtures to appliances, from patio furniture to Christmas decor. In the spring, I plan to come back to check out their selection of plants and seeds for my garden. I think Sean also got some wood here for really cheap. I also bought my inspection equipment for work here (mirror and flashlights.) Every so often you can get 10% off coupons and it's great that they combine discounts with current promotions so you can save max $. They also don't mind if you bring your dog in here as long as he/she is on a leash, which really surprised me as most places only allow service animals inside. If you shop at Lowes a lot, you should definitely get the MyLowes card as it is free and they use it to track purchases so if you lose a receipt, and decide you want to return something later on, you just take the item to customer service and they scan the card and it's pretty easy! We returned a shower head because it cracked after one use, and it was totally hassle-free. This Lowes is only a few miles from my home, so I bet we will be back again and again! read more

I wish I could give them a zero rating or better yet Negative 5 Star rating. I purchased a sliding patio door and front entrance door with side panels. Waited 4 months to get them installed by subcontractors only to have them damage the siding on my house. The door isn't level therefore my electronic lock isn't working properly. There are several things we are unhappy with so we called Lowe's and the installers. Two weeks later finally got someone to some out and agree it needed corrected and they would have to order the material. Two weeks later, material still had not been ordered...( we found this out because we kept calling to get updates on when the were come back to fix the doors ). Finally got material ordered and three weeks later they were coming out to finally fix their mess up. Guess what?? They were suppose to be here between 2 and 4, showed up at almost 7:30 AND didn't have the material to make the necessary repairs. Now we have called Lowe's 3 times, called the installer 3 times (and was promised the owner would call us back and set up a time to personally come out and check out the doors) and still haven't got any answers or a date on when our doors will be fixed. The manager at Lowe's was suppose to call the installer and then follow up with us the next morning to verify they had called us....THAT NEVER HAPPENED! My next move is to call the Corporate Office and the BBB. I paid way too much money for this kind of service. On a positive note.... the doors are beautiful, just need to be installed properly and need my siding fixed. It's been 5 months since the purchase date and 7 weeks since install date. read more

I ordered a mirror and went out of my way to go pick it up and it's absolute garbage. First off it's plastic not wood like it portrayed in description and it was busted in the corners when we pulled it out of the box. And seriously I wouldn't be so negative if they had any type of customer service at all! They have nothing and if you call free hours you just get hung up on/disconnected! I went in to Lowes today to pick up a powerwasher. I was able to find them however i thought they would have a larger selection. After I picked out the model that i wanted i had trouble finding someone to help me load it onto a cart and take it to my SUV. I got frustrated and finally found a cart and did it myself. When I went to checkout the cashier actually didnt try to shove the extended warranty down my throat so that saved the entire experience in my book. read more

Lousy doesn't even begin to describe the "customer service" at this store. We recently bought a dryer from this store. First dryer dented but worked so they hooked it up and left. Replacement dryer arrived but they couldn't hook it up. Appliance manager ordered a part. Installer came a week later with part which didn't fit. Called appliance manager who was out of town and he told me to go back to store to find out what I needed. Hubs went to Ace Hardware and got what we needed and installed it himself. He is 74 and has Parkinson's. Installer said I could return the hose and clamps they brought as they "wouldn't work." Today I took them to the "service desk where I was told the clamps I had were not the ones on the receipt. She said I "could go back in the store to see." I told her I was not going to do that and asked for a manager. Over 5 minutes later, no manager. I asked again. Still no one. I asked again. Still no one. Finally a different rep came over to help. I explained that these were the clamps the installer had handed me to return along with the hose. The first rep said to her, just give it to her, that's not what's on the receipt, but just give it to her. Over 20 minutes later, I got a refund. I will never return to this store. read more

We bought a refrigerator from this location today. They only brought 1 person out to load it. My husband asked for them to get someone else and the associate said it was fine. While the fridge was being loaded they broke it. The Fridge was brought back in and my Husband asked for someone to help us get a new fridge or fix what they broke. At that time all the associate's disappeared. My Husband sat there waiting for someone to help for 45 minutes. When someone finally did come help they still did not have a manager and they refused to fix what they broke. Do not shop here so unprofessional. read more

All 5 of us were all over your store looking for various decorative items, hardware, shower heads, paint and cleaning items. Each of us had a positive experience with one or more Lowes sales associates. We all commented on how friendly and helpful the Lowes associated were especially Robin, Regina and Doug. They were all friendly, helpful and informative (even though we started off by pressing the help button too many times, sorry everyone!). My fiancé and I tried to buy a fridge. It took 40minuets because they said my card wasn't charged. Only to pull up my bank statement and say the funds had been taken from our account. They asked if they could run my card again... this was NOT a 20/40 dollar purchase it was a fridge... 3,000. I refused since I already showed the funds gone. They put a loan on it because there system went down. In this time frame no manager came to help nothing. We then received a call three days later saying we needed to come back in and pay for the fridge. Once in they had to get three different people to help me. All knew nothing but Dianne. Dianne was kind but it still baffles me they had such a problem with me purchasing a refrigerator. She didn't have authorization to do the transaction so had to get another manager involved. I've now been waiting 20min only to pay them 3,000. You would think they would want a loyal customer spending a lot to be taken care of in a timely, professional manner. To top it off I went and spent another 100 on shelving and couldn't get a single person to help me get it to my car. A nice stranger helped me after I cut my finger.. Awful customer service. Expect to wait 10 days or longer on warranty repair and all they can say is "sorry that is the wait time." So be prepared to wait if you purchase extended warranties on your appliances and have water leaking on your main floor. I have never been in a store with worse customer service. Over and over again, I can walk in and out of this store without asking if I need help. At this point in time, I know where everything is because I have had to find it on my own in the past. Today in particular, Lowe's is out of 4'x8' pressure treated plywood due to the sawmills being closed, as I'm told. However, they have 2'x4' cut pieces of the 4'x8' pressure treated plywood. The cost of the 4'x8' is approximately $30 and the cut 2'x4'piece is approximately $15. In total, that is half of the material for the same price of a whole sheet. I needed a full sheet but I was willing to work with the cut portions if they would sell the same amount of material at the same cost. Lowe's refused to sell me the same amount of material because it was apparently extremely difficult to make two (2) cuts in a piece of plywood for them. I have been a repeated customer with this store for several years and have spent quite a lot of money here. This is the last straw, I will not go back to this store. Lowe's, you suck! read more

WARNING: DO NOT PURCHASE CARPET OR FLOORING FROM THIS LOWES! They do not install the carpet or flooring, they contract the work out and expect u to deal with these carpet companies that u have never heard of. If the company doesn't show up, it's your problem to reschedule the appt. If they mess up your installation it's your job to deal with the carpet company. Does Lowes inspect the installation? Nope Does Lowes care if the installation was done properly? Nope I've been waiting over a month to get 1 bedroom of carpet put in. $500 free installation SCAM! Have I received a call from Lowes Management? Nope I called and asked for the store manager, they asked who I was so they could tell the manager, she came back and said the Store Manager was on her lunch break and couldn't talk. Its Amazing. If I had a client that had a room in their house destroyed by one of my contractors I wouldn't take a lunch break until the job was done correctly. Now the Store manager is out of town for the rest of the week training and has not called me back. I will update this post daily. We bought a French style refrigerator from Lowe's with an extended warranty four years ago. I was very excited there were (2) ice-makers, one in the door and another in the freezer however, there was a problem with the ice-maker in the door from day one. Repairmen were out multiple times but it would always freeze up and stop dispensing cubes from the door. We started using cubes from the freezer only for a couple of years until the refrigerator started making a knocking sound. (Sounded like someone hitting a spoon on a pot!). I thought possibly the compressor was going out so I called for service again. When the serviceman came he said there was a fan hitting built up ice on the top. He said it was a manufacture defect and there wasn't anything that would or could correct it! Lowes warranty company reimbursed us 100% of what we paid, sending a check so we could apply it towards a new one. There was no hassle at all. Excellent company to deal with! read more

After using the St Charles Lowe's flooring department which was exceptional, I assumed all departments were equal. I couldn't have been more wrong!!! In the door department many of the consultants seem disinterested, and have limited knowledge of products they sell. It's been over a month since I paid to have Lowe's door measurements done at my home, and still no doors. In the cabinet and countertop department, they have descent knowledge of the products but their ability to execute a customers request is extremely limited to whom they subcontract out too. At this point, if you need flooring I highly recommend, for everything else you could probably get better results on Angie's List or a simple web search. read more
