I recently moved to Texas. I have been a long time Home Depot customer....until I visited McKinney Lowe's. This store is way above average! I have had several major projects completed here. The front of the store (Returns/Pick-ups/Customer Service) is as good good as the end of the store (Check-out). In between those desks is the awesome sweet points. Their Pro-Shop is very efficient. A special shout out to Scott and Kali. Their knowledge is above average. As long as their customer service and Pro-Shop remains strong and solid I will always be coming here. read more

Service? What service? Nobody knows anything about anything. Employees look at you like you're bothering them and they are waiting for their shift to end. There are maybe 2 exceptions but they are probably hiding from the substandard humans this place has employed. And don't bother with the curbside pickup. Waited hours and hours. Went in to the store to get the product myself and was told to go wait in my car so they could go get the product. Ummm duh but you were supposed to have done that already. We were given a business card by Lowes employee to contact Marcello Jackson for handyman services. During this snow storm Jan 2026 our heating system went out. We called this guy. He is total fraud. I will not be coming here again. I went to pick up an order (on behalf of someone else) and was new to this whole process. I went to the pick up counter and the woman working there rudely told me to use a tablet saying it as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. After multiple attempts of typing in my order number and it not working, I asked her what I was doing wrong then she looked at me exasperated saying it was the other tablet like they weren't directly next to each other in the pick up area. She said "I JUST told you." I ended up getting my order and a nice gentleman helped me load it into my car. He should get a raise! I would give him 5 stars. read more

Don't buy your appliances at this place! I have had the worst experience ever with them... I literally bought my washer and dryer with all the warranties etc....moving from California into a brand new home so it took me awhile to actually try the product and when I realized that my washer was extremely loud and the dryer is hard to close after within the first week of my purchase....Lowe's management had no sympathy at all! They don't care if you're happy or not....none of the sales people ever mentioned to me that I had 48 hours to return or exchange my appliances! This is truly insane especially when that amount of time isn't even sufficient to try your appliances to see if they work for you! I believe that they should at least give you 30 days.... When I tried to explain my situation and how I just moved into a brand new home and i couldn't even try my washer and dryer until after the 48 hour mark they had no sympathy for that....im just extremely disappointed with spending my money at this place! Still the worst garden center in Texas. ALWAYS water and dirt/mud everywhere after major overwatering. Still ZERO carts in the garden section except those flatbed ones. Very hard to maneuver and a major overkill when you only want 6 4-inch plants. Yes, great plants, but the same great plants everybody has but with horrible service and management. Constant negative reviews, never been above 2 1/2 and NEVER do anything about it. Home Depot isn't that great, but they're a million times better than this place, just across the street, and the same identical prices. read more

Worse Lowe's with the worse Manager, Dee at Customer Service. I am a senior and tried to return a brand new unopened power screw driver with the receipt, but the Manager, Dee with the pink shirt would not do a return. He said they have a 90 day policy to return items but it does not say anything about their return policy on the receipt. The manager Dee pointed to the sign that is on your way out the door, up high, on the back wall after you return items. The sign is hard to see from far away and who really goes and reads all their signs on the way out. So they do not warn you ahead of time about their 90 day policy where you pay but at the wall after the return booth. Photo below. I self checked myself out when I bought this item so there was no way to be aware of their policy.The manger was a smart Alec and would not do an exception on my return which was only a few days after the 90 days. The return policy was not anywhere on the receipt and I did not need the tool after all and it was actually too heavy for my hand, but was told by one of their customer service clerks that was the right tool I needed to put a chair together. The chair came with L wrenches and did not need the power screw driver after all. I was not treated fairly and did not appreciate their female clerk making the big eyes and staring at me, when I was talking to the manager, Dee. Their male black customer service clerk seemed more friendly and understanding, and I'm not black, but I could tell he did not have any power over, Dee the male manager. People need to be aware this store does not print the return policy on their receipts everybody else does, they expect you to check yourself out walk over to returns and look at their back wall in the store to see their return policy that's ridiculous. You can't go to the return booth on your way out, store is not set up that way. All I wanted was my money back. With grocery prices the way they are we could have used the money back. The worst customer service is that this place won't take returns. I gave them my receipt and product; at the end of the interaction, they did not want to give back to me. I had to repeatedly ask for my receipt and grab my product by force. Lowe's has the worst return policies; even if the product is damaged when opened, they won't take it back and will ask you to call the manufacturer for return policies. You're better off going to Home Depot. read more

Went to this Lowe's today to order a kitchen full of appliances. Had a few questions and wanted to speak with someone. Went to appliance section and waited 20'minutes while the one person in appliances helped a woman order an item. After standing 20 minutes he finally called and asked for back up. I waited another 10 minutes for back up. No body showed up. Finally I gave up and walked to the front and asked the young man if I could speak with the manager. He pointed to a woman at the other end of the store and he said that's her. I politely asked if he could ask her to come to the front. I looked at me with a stunned look like he did not know what to do and I said can you call her or do I need to chase her down. He said you will probably have to chase her down. I just walked out. The appliances I was planning on purchasing were at least $10,000. I honestly don't know why appliance manufactures trust Lowe's to represent them. It's getting to the point that you cannot do anything unless you do it all online. There is no service in this store. I don't know what was thinking to even try. read more

I can't believe that I contacted with Lowe's for the installation of windows in my house, in June 2015. Hear it's June 2023 and the job is still not complete. It has failed inspection 3 times and still not complete. I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT ANYONE LOOKING FOR LOWE'S FOR WINDOWS INSTALLATION TO LOOK ELSEWHERE. If I had to do it again, it would probably be with Homedepot or some other company. I love the debates.... Toyota or Honda? Chevy or Ford? Lowe's or Home Depot? I find myself frequenting Lowe's a lot more than I used to due to geography. My experiences are typically pretty reasonable and I never leave with a bad feeling or feeling tainted due to bad attitudes. The sales associates at Lowe's don't seem to be as helpful as Home Depot, but they are always friendly and have great attitudes. I think Lowe's is always wells stocked and typically has what I want when I need something, so its really just a matter of where I am when I looking for hardware. On my last experience here I came in for a door lock and some acid for my pool. I wasn't able to find the door lock brand I wanted, but Home Depot didn't carry the brand either. I was able to find the acid and while on the way out, I grabbed a few more things I didn't need. I will say I like the garden section, Lowe's is where I buy my mulch every year. It's easy and stacked outside where I simply drive my car though and load up. In the big picture, I think geography plays the biggest role in my increased visits to Lowe's. When the orange place is my favorite, Lowe's will do in a pinch. read more

Lawn Mower Battery Don't do it! You not only have to check yourself out. you have to pay for the battery and the core charge. Then they make you carry your new battery and the old battery across the store to the service desk where they issue a core charge refund instead of having a system that allows the core charge to be removed at time of purchase. In this day and age of computer technology this system is archaic and a waste of the customers time. Do better Lowe's - do better. read more

Lowes - 380 Mckinney I would not recommend Lowes and will go to Home Depot in the future. I had a door installed at the end of 2020. this door had several problems. You receive a 1 year warranty for installation. Door had issues throughout the first year. Door needed last repair at the end of 2021and less than 2 months later has the same issue once again. The installation department won't do what is right by honoring a warranted item due to it now being 2022. Tina, the rep, agreed with me that it should not be out of pocket. but that there was nothing she could do to help- only to now charge me for someone to come and look at the door. Issue still hasn't been 100% resolved. Bad customer service. Also no one will give you any manager/ supervisor info. read more

We bought a Bosch dishwasher, which was in stock at the McKinney Lowe's. The delivery was 2 weeks later when their installers were available. Install was supposed to be between 2 and 5, which I only found out after calling. Guy shows up at 5:30, hocks a huge disgusting loogey in the driveway in front of my daughter-in-law. The install went quickly enough, but they managed to disconnect the disposal switch in the process (which I found and fixed). Didn't show us how to even run the dishwasher, didn't turn it on, didn't wait to see if it worked, didn't run water through it. Just left. We won't be buying any more appliances from Lowe's. read more

We are general contractors we always order from Home Depot but the customer ordered from Lowe's. We have not had a good experience I had to call 5 times to get someone to answer to get a window for the delivery time. I kept getting transferred, placed on hold and disconnected. The worst customer service I have had in a long time. My experience with Lowe's has not been a good one as far as customer service goes. Bought a fridge on a Friday. Told me they would deliver the next Tuesday. Got a text on Monday confirming the delivery on Tuesday. Tuesday morning got an email changing the delivery to next Friday. Took for ever to get ahold of anybody from customer service. All they were able to do was offer me 5% off my purchase price for my inconvenience. When I checked my credit card, they had only refunded about 2%. I got an email with updated receipt. They increased my delivery fee from $29 to $85, and removed the $26 charge for the water line for the fridge. These guys are bait and switch crooks. read more

Hubby and I moved into a new house and all the aches and pains of that have resulted in astronomical totals at the cash registers at our local Lowe's, but for the level of service we've received there and the fact that every time we go everyone is smiling, joking around and working hard, it's worth it and makes it a fun trip even as we break the bank. They have everything you could imagine, at great prices, and my favorite new discovery here is definitely the fact that you can rent their Lowe's pick-up truck for $19.99 for the first 75 minutes, and then just $5 for every 15 minutes after. When you're buying large things, or need to move large things, this is the BEST. I also can't say enough about their customer service. They are so helpful and really do their best to find the answers to your questions even if it means walking around the store with you for 15 minutes and calling several people on their walkie-talkies. I usually am a Lowe's shopper over any of the other hardware chains. This is the closest location to me and I really like the store. The employees are always helpful and friendly. I bought a house last year so I came here for some appliances, paint, all my yard and plant needs, tools and all my other household needs. The store has always been nicely stocked and clean each time I have been at the location. I have the Lowe's app so I try to keep up with what items are on sale. I will be changing out some fans and other electrical items in the house soon so this is where I will choose to do my shopping. The staff at the registers are always so friendly and nice. I really do appreciate the service that I have received at this location and will continue to be a customer! read more

This is a hard review for me. Because I shop here frequently. I love the garden and paint departments because they're so friendly and helpful. The rest of the departments are pretty attentive as well. But the door installation department is not my favorite at the moment. I ordered a door for my house back in April/May.... Was told it would be a few months due to COVID. Whatever that's everywhere. Well my sales associate Scott was amazing at first, until he quick responding. I understand it's a stressful time, but just not getting back to a customer is not professional. If he doesn't know something then just tell me, don't ignore me. Anyhow my door finally was delivered and set for install in like July/Aug. And what do you know they ordered the wrong door! So I'm being understanding; and now they're saying it will be here by October. October comes and goes, Scott calls me once because I call and complain to the higher ups. It'll be here by November...... now December..... and I get a call today saying January. This is ridiculous, I'm paying for a door I don't even have yet! And I texted Scott and called him a few weeks ago and still no answer. I'm literally losing it and Lowe's needs to do something to expedite this or give a major discount! BAIT & SWITCH TACTICS AT ITS FINEST! I'm a senior female who went into Lowe's to purchase 2 storm doors & arrange for Lowe's to handle the install. When I first went in, the salesman would not even discuss the doors with me until after their installer took measurements of my front & back doors. OK...fine...so I paid the required fees for Lowe's to set up an appointment for my exterior door measurements. 48 hours after my doors were measured, I went into Lowe's to purchase the doors that I wanted for my home. The man in that area said "Ben" was at lunch & I needed to come back after an hour. After I pressed for assistance (so I wouldn't have to leave & return again) someone came to assist me. When my doors were entered into the computer, the cost was considerably higher than what was shown on the floor models. I was told it was because my size was different than the floor models. After I pointed out that the size was the same, a store associate told me cost has gone up because of Covid. When I questioned why prices weren't changed on their floor models to match pricing in computer, she said they don't have anyone to make those in-store corrections & she basically insinuated the price difference was my problem not theirs. I asked for my measurements so I could go elsewhere & I was told the door measurements were their work product, even though I paid for that service. In other words, I was in a catch-22 situation & I was stuck. Sure glad they take care of vets by offering 10% discount, because their treatment of limited income senior females stink. read more

Buyer's Beware: We bought and had delivered a Maytag Electric Dryer. The delivery man said we had 90 days to return. 4 days after delivery we dried our first load of towels on time dry. (there is only 2 of us so we don't wash often.) It took 120 minutes to dry. Went to Lowes and they say we only had 48 hrs to return. You have to go to the website to read the return exceptions to know what delivery man told us was incorrect. It is also noisy. So now we are stuck! read more

I wish I could give less than 1 star. We have purchased several appliances from you over the years, and we had a new dryer delivered this morning. After connection, the dryer did not work properly, so they had to take it back, telling me that someone would contact me to set up delivery of a different dryer. They were here at 8:00 this morning and it is almost 1PM, I have not heard from anyone, I have called multiple numbers, and I am currently on hold with a number that I have been waiting for almost 2 hours. I called the McKinney store and spoke to a manager named Ariel. She tells me there is nothing that she can do about it and I have to wait for the warehouse to call me to set up delivery. She also told me that I cannot go into the store to get a refund. Terrible inconvenience, terrible service. They brought a second dryer today, the delivery guys yesterday left the steam connection and vent, but took the power cord with the dryer, so they did not have one with my dryer. I called the store and spoke to another manager who basically told me it was not her problem, I had to talk to the delivery service. I have done all of the work to get this delivery taken care of, and if Lowes is not willing to compensate me in some way to make this right, I will be having them pick up the dryer and I will go buy it somewhere else. read more

When I called in to check on the order, I was simply told they couldn't get a hold of me. Really? With my phone number, email, and address on file? When they told me I had to reschedule, I was ok because I was expecting chaos during Black Friday. When the delivery date finally came, nobody contacted me. I had to call in and was told that the dryer was out of stock and hey have no idea when they will have it back ordered! I don't know how they with to do business and handle their customers. This is my first time and the last time ever doing business with Lowe's. I will get the words out through all the ways I can think of. After spending $50,000+ over the past 12 years at Lowe's in 4 states, one might think my loyalty would be unquestioned. However, that all changed today simply because I was run around between three Lowe's stores (Frisco-Prosper-McKinney) with one bad experience topping the previous. I lost 3+ hours I'll never get back and drove a lot of miles just doing what department managers told me I needed to do to get the cordless lawn mower I wanted. At the last store (McKinney), they had plenty of the mower I wanted in stock but they refused to honor the price posted in the Frisco and Prosper stores. They said "Chris", the regional manager, wanted them to sell that mower for $65.00 more than the other stores. My wife and I became disgusted at the run-around and lies so we left. I generally do Home Depot but when I can't find something I sometimes force myself to go to Lowe's. However, this Lowe's is WAY nicer than any other one I've been in! Not sure if it is a new store or just newly remodeled but inside is bright and feels spacious. They have it laid out where you can clearly see signage almost all the way across the store. They seem to carry a really nice, broad array of parts in stock. I've had trouble finding things at Home Depot only to go here and find they have it in stock. I'll still probably primarily use HD because it is closer to my house but this Lowe's is a really nice option as well if it is in your area! read more
