The absolute worst lowes I've ever been to. Lowes are already substandard Home Depot's to be honest. I have never been to a lowes that had competent staff. I don't believe they test their employees knowledge on the products. This lowes in particular has incompetent management. People that have no business being in a hardware store. They can barely read. I went to return an item that was clearly in warranty and they denied me. After calling customer service while standing in line and having the customer service rep call the store. The management agreed that they would honor the warranty like they're supposed to. Then to top it all off, the manager says that she's going out of her way to help... I told her that no she wasn't. She was doing her job. The item was clearly covered by warranty. She wasn't doing me any favors. This has happened multiple times over multiple purchases and returns. 04/20/2019 ~1:15PM HORRIFIC customer service! We came into Lowe's looking for a variety of household items. Upon asking an employee for assistance in the cabinetry section (I believe her name is Erin), we were quickly turned away and given a laundry list of excuses as to why. She proceeded to tell us that she'd been with customers "left and right" and was not going to help us because she absolutely, at that second, needed to take her break and "use the restroom." However, we noticed that she had been standing around chatting with a fellow Lowe's employee about what appeared to be a personal conversation prior to this interaction, not other customers. I get that you're human and have human needs, but instead of telling customers flat out no when they need help while only providing pretty insubstantial excuses, at the very least, help provide an alternative solution. This experience was bizarre more than anything. This tells me that Lowe's should implement more rigorous training so that their employees are equipped with the right skillset to do their job (which, by the way, is HEAVILY customer focused). I do want to call out Vero, however, who did stop to help and was very courteous and patient! read more

I went in Lowes April 10th for carpet installation. Picked carpet and padding out. Had measurement person come out and measure three bedrooms. Then 2 days later went in and paid for our carpet to be put in. It has been a MONTH and still NO carpet in my house. We had to move our Open House (selling our house) TWICE because Lowes could not find anyone to install our carpet... on top of that we HAD to wait 20 days before we can even get our money back... do NOT get carpet installation with Lowes. Bought a chandelier for my new house with the $89 installation. Received a call today informing me they couldn't find anyone to install it and offered me a refund. Was told by multiple associates that I'd get it installed within a week; in fact person who charged me for the installation was the lights department manager. Better products than Home Depot but terrible service. Now I have a chandelier lying in my kitchen that needs to be returned. Trying to furnish an entire house but not sure if they are able to hook up Washer/dryer and or install a frig. The absolute WORST customer service. We went there looking for a specific screw. We searched around for awhile but had trouble locating the correct screw (customers just throw all size screws in any box). I saw someone working returns so I asked if she could get someone to assist us since we were having trouble. She called for an associate to come help us through the intercom. We're waiting and waiting and waiting. No one comes by. I walk out of the aisle and I see 5 employees in a circle just talking and not doing much. I walk back into the aisle and keep looking for the screw. I still can't find it. The worker at returns notices no one came to assist us and again, she calls for an associate from the intercom. No one comes. At least 3 employees walk by my aisle and still no assistance. At this point it's been about 15 minutes of waiting. My husband ends up finding the screw finally so we go to checkout. The lady at checkout asks if we needed help finding something. I told her "yes, and that it was called on the intercom twice". She just gives me a look of disgust, ignores me, and walks back to where she was standing before approaching me. The most ridiculous place with the most ridiculous customer service. I needed a short 4" in diameter PVC pipe. I know Lowe's don't sell pre-cut of the 4" PVC pipes. So, if I am to get the 4" pipes, I'd have to buy the whole 10ft pipe, which I am totally fine with. I don't have family or friends who can lend me their truck at this time especial during the COVID pandemic. I went to Lowe's to buy one 10 ft of the 4" PVC pipe. I understand it's not Lowe's fault that I don't have a truck, however, I've seen Lowe's employees cut the lumber or pipes for customers, so I figured that that is what I planned on doing. I asked the head of plumbing to cut the pipe for me. I was told by him he does not have time because he is very busy with two departments. I told him I can wait and if he can give me a rough idea of how long. He says he is not able to give me a rough estimated time. It was close to closing time and there are hardly customers. I am very confused how busy can he be to cut this pipe in two areas. I asked if there are other employees who can help. He pointed me to the tools section. I went there and talked to an employee who was going to start work in 5 minutes. I told the employee if he hasn't started work yet, I will not bother him. He insisted on helping. I mentioned to him if he insist then I need a 10ft pipe to be cut. He said he is not trained and as soon as he logs into work, he will find someone to help me. So I went back to the pipe section and saw a different employee. I asked if he can cut the pipe for me. He said there's an employee in charge of that department who can do that for me. I told him if it's the guy in the plumbing department, he is very busy and cannot help me at this time. At least that is what he told me. Apparently he showed up right when I finished my statement. He doesn't look busy to me. The employee I was currently talking to asked that he assist me. He said he was busy and will help me when he can. I asked for a saw so I can cut it myself if no one has time or is not trained. I was ignored when I asked that question several times. So I waited for the head of plumbing to not be busy and wondered around to kill time. I encountered another employee in the tools and lumber area. He asked if I needed help. I hesitated to say "Yes" because I'm just going to get mad since I already know what "Lowe's" answer was going to be. I paused for a few second and then thought maybe he will help. He seemed like he is willing. So I said "Yes, I would like to buy the 4"10ft PVC Pipe but it's too long so I'd like to have it cut in two areas so that it will fit my car." He said that there's an employee there that can help. I said, "But he said that he is very busy with two departments and I'd have to wait for him to have time to help me." Then the employee told me that he was not able to help me either. I went back to the PVC Pipe section and finally almost an hour of waiting, I see the "Very Busy" employee came towards me with a saw. Then he said, "I can sell you this saw so you can cut the pipe in the parking lot yourself. That is the best I can do for you since the saw we used for helping customers was unable to be located." I was shocked for a moment. I honestly didn't know how to respond. So, I kindly told him that it's okay and that I have too many of those saws at home, therefore, will not anticipate on getting another one. He said that he is sorry but that's all he can do for me. I politely thank him for his help. I left without the PVC pipe disappointed at Lowe's, not the employees. I don't believe it's their fault. This message is to Lowe's. This pandemic has a negative impact on lots of people as well as lots of businesses. However, it made a tremendous positive impact on Lowe's. You make a good amount of money/profit per year regularly but due to this pandemic, you make or triple that amount in less than 3 months. With that being said, why is it that you are not able to spare $5 for a saw to replace the saw that was misplaced? On my way out I saw another employee who asked if I needed help. I wanted to confirm how pathetic Lowe's service is so I said, "Yes, I do need help. I would like a 10ft 4" PVC Pipe cut to fit my car." He said that there's a guy that can help you there. I said that the person in charge of plumbing said that the saw employees used for cutting pipes for customers is misplaced so I'd have to buy a saw and cut it in the parking lot myself. Then that employee told me that if that is the case then he can't help me either if the saw is misplaced. Don't worry, I am not asking for free things, coupons, gift certificates, etc.... I just want an explanation and would like Lowe's to do a better job providing training to employees and good services to customers. Tonight I was at the store getting some tools for work. I didn't notice it at first but after a lil bit the man in the tool department started following me around the tool area making it WAY to obvious that he was doing it to. I started feeling very uncomfortable. I should have just left. If I would have thought about it I would have told him because of you and how much you were watching me and making me uncomfortable and I plan on letting the manager know about how I was treated during my shopping time. I did let the lady at the self check out know and then I just had her get a manager to them know and pretty much I was told it's cause I have tools. I told her I know people do steal, but don't make it so obvious like that. Pretty much I got a sorry and that she went to talk to him. This was the worse shopping experience I have ever had at this store. Last time I got tools I wasn't treated this way. So if your getting some tools watch out you just may be watched. I would give 0 stars if I could. The two women and the heavier man who were working the curbside pick-up between 5:45 and 6:45 pm on Tuesday, June 23, at the Merced location on Olive are a bunch of clowns. First off, I called four times during this process and could not get through directly to curbside pickup any of those times. I ended up pressing 0 and going directly to customer service so they could go to curbside and tell them to answer the phone. I called 20 minutes before arriving at the location to tell them I was on my way to pick up the order. Once I arrived, I waited 20 minutes in the car before getting out of my car to go inside. Keep in mind, it's 90 degrees out. When I called, the woman mentioned it would be a few minutes. After 20, I went inside. Not one of the employees greeted me AND they were all wearing their masks incorrectly. The women didn't have their noses covered and the man had his mask HANGING AROUND HIS NECK! The man finally asked and what my order number was and the woman said that the order was already up on the screen. She said the item was all the way in the back of the store so it would take a couple minutes. Fine, no big deal but my roommate was still waiting in the car. After 15 more minutes (I timed it), I asked again if someone could check with the guy getting the box because I had been waiting a long time. The Hispanic woman then changed her story and said the item was on a top shelf and required special equipment to get it. The man next to her very condescendingly said something along the lines of, "Ma'am, you need to wait. Getting that piece requires special equipment and a license to operate it. It takes time." Why do you have someone picking up an item for a customer who gave you 20 minutes' notice before even arriving to the store when he doesn't even have a "license" to operate a piece of equipment? They should have had the item ready when arrived. That's the whole point of curbside pickup. I shouldn't have to wait 40 minutes to get an item and I shouldn't have to get out of my vehicle at all. I will NEVER go back to this store and neither will any members of my household. This is the absolute worst customer service I have received since Covid-19 hit. It also doesn't help that customers are not wearing masks inside your store despite the state mandate that masks be worn in all public spaces. read more

I called the store asking them to please come by and pick it up because we can not put this leaking mower into our van. They told us they can not help us. We came in for a Christmas tree. I asked 3 associates for help regarding your selection of trees. They laughed and told me the trees were over there. My wife and I selected a tree on our own without any help. I took the tree to the wrapping area. There was no one there. I asked the cashier for help and she said Chris would be right there. After 5 minutes I asked for help again. She told me he was busy and would be over when he could. I heard her call overhead for Chris. He finally showed up after 8-10 minutes. The store wasn't very busy; you had 7 or 8 associates in the garden center while we were there, and we weren't treated very well at all. My wife wanted to buy lights for the tree while we were there but no way! We went directly to Costco and had a great experience buying Christmas lights for the tree. read more

I had one of the worst kitchen remodels of all time from this place last year. They screwed up so much stuff that they offered a discount on a refrigerator but only if I'd sign a paper that cleared them of all the things they messed up on. The funny part is, after a 10 week kitchen remodel that was supposed to be 3 weeks, the time frame wasn't what I was upset about. No one ever called me to see if I was happy after all the BS. They also picked up a bunch of product they over charged me for and never gave me the money back. When I called to talk to the manager, he spoke to me and said he'd call me back but never did. DO NOT employ their remodel services. It's so unorganized and they contract with the cheapest, untrained people. I purchased a refrigerator in april and was told it was available. The refrigerator was going to be delivered on June 1st and was told it would take another 5-10 business days. This was because they ordered the refrigerator on May 30th, two days before delivery. This is horrible planning on Lowes part and now I have to store my food in coolers, while losing my frozen food. I would have been satisfied if they would have given me a loaner or another of the same price but was told that there was nothing they could do. So forget my money that I spent on food for the month because of Lowes bad planning. When dealing with products that are worth thousands of dollars, you think you get better solutions or customer service. I will never deal with lowes again. Got in line to the self check out. It was a lady there wiping down the machines and spraying I guess because the COVID-19. I noticed that she did this between every customer which I thought was a good idea until the next customer came up and she didn't spray it or clean it. So the customer nicely asked do you mind spraying and wiping down the machine for me? So she took the rag and wiped it quickly but not as good as she did before. And she did not spray, so the customer asked can you spray it like you did the other 3 customers for me? And she said no I know my job I did it already! And he said please! And she said "no I know my job"so he left out of line and walk to the other side of the warehouse. What terrible customer service. How much Time would it cost her to do an extra spray or cost of one spray of disinfectant for this guy who is the customer. It wasn't like the store doesn't need customers during this crisis. Went in to the store on June 30th to buy a new dishwasher. Stood at the dishwashers with my husband for quite some time debating between two models, searching reviews on our phones, discussing pros and cons. It wasn't until we had made our decision and we planted ourselves at the appliance service desk that we were even acknowledged. Getting the order and the delivery into the computer system was interesting. After three tries he had it down finally. Then at the register the cashier that was sitting down seemed irritated to be disturbed and didn't want to hear that there were 3 different orders in the system and that I wanted to make sure that it was the correct one before I paid but she insisted that if it was the wrong one that it could be changed post-sale. Ultimately I walked out an hour after walking in with my receipt and a promise of delivery 8 days later. Apparently they had a problem with their delivery truck so despite the signs that say "free next day delivery" the expectation is a week later. Fast forward to today... I had expected a morning delivery but at 10:30 I received a call from an unidentified man saying the driver was in the mountains and that my delivery will arrive after noon. At 1:30 I called the store to ask when to expect my delivery and, after being transferred a few times, was told by a woman working in appliances that the dishwasher was in the truck and said she would get a hold of the driver to find the time and would call me back with the information. It is now after 3pm. I have not received a call from either the driver nor the salesperson. Based on this purchase alone I am extremely tempted to cut up my Lowes credit cards and start shopping at Home Depot. Normally I shop at the Madera Lowes but happened to be in Merced that day. I am not generally thrilled with the Madera Lowes but have never had these types of issues from them. To say I am disappointed would be an understatement. Update: before I had submitted my review I finally received a call from the driver. He arrived at about 4pm, dropped off the boxed new dishwasher and took the old one -was there and gone in 5-10 min. I have been going to Lowe's in Merced since they opened. It is sad to say that their service has done nothing but go downhill. Recently, I had a carpet order that they forgot to tell me was on back-order until the day it was supposed to be delivered. Then they pushed my order back two weeks at a time for 8 weeks extra until a service rep finally told me it would be best to just ask for a refund. The next time I went in I was ordering a window, when the guy at the computer, said "time to take a break", then walked away. No explanations, or apologizes, just walked away. The straw that broke the camels back. I was picking up a phone order at the front desk, after 45 minutes of waiting for the cashiers to figure out where my order was, I was told it had not been pulled. But, if I would just wait another half hour it would be ready. Sorry, but even though they are closer to my house I'll be going to Home Depot from now on. read more

I made a purchase yesterday with my credit card and decided to return some of the items today because they wouldn't work for what that I wanted them to be used for. Part of my order was returned to credit card and part of my order was returned a store credit because they said I used to store credit to make part of the purchase, I couldn't remember if i might have used part of a gift caWhen I got back out to my car and searched for my receipt, I found it, it showed that I used my credit card for the entire purchase. I went back inside and they said there was nothing they could do since it had already been returned to store credit. They even argued about what was on the receipt and how it was paid for even though it clearly shows that I only used my credit card. I don't even worry about taking my receipt because Home Depot flawlessly returns my items since I use my credit card. This is the second major appliance purchase I have made and both times I had to argue repeatedly, to get my appliances delivered. I just purchased a freezer online, I received a call from Lowes telling me I would have it delivered on 10/5. I called the store in merced and I was not on their delivery list. I spoke to an employee that said "he didn't know why I was told it would come 10/5-they only deliver to my area on wed. and sundays. He finally spoke to delivery people and he called me back telling me "it would be delivered 10/6 FOR SURE". Then I get another call from Merced Lowes telling me It would not be delivered until 10/8. My cashier stood there wanting me to pull bags of mortar and power tools out of my cart so she could scan them because she had 2 inch rhinestone studded nails that she didn't want to chip. I'm 8 months pregnant!! She spent most of the time on her cellphone anyway. I can't believe they allow employees to have cellphones on them while on the sales floor. Wished I could have given zero stars!!! First off, Merced Lowe's has horrible customer service. I keep trying to give this location the benefit of the doubt and they continue to disappoint. You literally have to search out and beg someone to assist you and most of the time they will tell you its not their department and will call someone to help leaving you standing there for what seems like forever. So, on 5.1.2021 we went to the door department and finally we found someone that would assist us. For the first time we had decent customer service from a team member that did not work in that department (thank you Wone Saechao). I have already submitted a good word for this person via the Lowe's survey. We decided to purchase their door installation service that they offer where you pay $35 upfront to have someone come out and measure correctly and then will install the door you decide to purchase. We thought this was a great thing and would ensure our the security screen door we were planning on purchasing would be installed perfectly. We are told that someone would contact us within 24-48hrs to arrange a time to come out and do the measurements. This is also posted on the worksheet they provide you. And so the issues and poor customer service begin. Three days later, no one has contacted us. I call Lowe's Merced... This lady answers and I tell her my situation, she transfers me to the department, no one answers, I get routed back. I tell her again, she transfers me again before I finish. Again, no answer and I get routed back. I then tell her DO NOT transfer me. Here is my issue, she puts me on hold forever and then comes back on and tells me I have to contact the 3rd party installation company they contract out to and gives me a tel # and hangs up. I call back and she now has an attitude because I told her No way. I am Lowe's customer and they need to help me. I then ask to speak to a mgr, she puts me on hold again forever. Finally a mgr picks up the phone and I explain the situation and he tells me that she was wrong and that he would call for me. He then calls me to tell me that someone would call me back the next day and still nothing, so I call them back yesterday and after going back/forth and playing phone tag I am told that the installer has 137 jobs ahead of me. WTH... so he may be able to schedule some time with me what next year??? I told them no way was i waiting and that the installer should have at least called me as stated on the Lowe's documentation.
