This was my first time at this Leslie's location since my usual one in Ceres closed, and the Modesto stores are a bit farther out. I came in to get my pool water tested. The two employees working that day were nice enough, nothing out of the ordinary. The girl who helped me definitely upsold me on powdered shock, but it was on sale so I went with it. The store itself is in the same shopping center as Michael's and Ace Hardware, which is convenient, and there's plenty of parking. Overall, it's fine. The pictures posted is definitely not the same as the store except the one of the store front. For the most part, this place has what you would need for a pool. I came to replace my 1 1/4 hoses for my Costco pool. Lucky for me they had the hoses. The hoses are a little steep at $13.99. Learning lesson for sure. Remove the hoses when the season ends this way I am not shelling out extra $ on hose replacement. I also needed sand and the prices wasn't too bad. Their customer service was good. read more

We need a good pool supply store in Turlock, Unfortunately, Leslie's is no longer that store. Store full of customers, 1 person working, delivery truck comes and ALL customers are ordered to leave store. When a customer advised that they needed more employees, the discouraged withering employee said they had plenty of people but hours had been cut. Unbelievable. Went in about 1 week ago. Holley helped me out, she was great, besides the fact she's a very serious gal. My above ground pool had turned green. She tested my water and planned out what I needed to make it right. Never had been here before. I was impressed. Did as she requested and it worked. She gave me an empty bottle to return and retest. This is a follow up to my review of yesterday. I returned the expensive pool sweep that was offered me at 20% off. I called first and the manager's reply was that he expected me to change my mind and come in. I went in and he brought out the box with the pool sweep that was not mine. He had taken it completely apart so that there was no way to even attempt to use it or put it together. His last words were "This is yours, you can take it". He destroyed the evidence. F. Good location, spacious interior and a VERY knowledgeable staff made my entry into the world of pools a breeze. I've been helped one on one with several of the employees and every time I feel that they know their stuff. Some of the prices on things could easily be beat online but there no substitute to getting what you want same day. ok, here we go. As a new saltwater pool/spa owner (only four months) and never having the upkeep of my new pool explained to me by the installers, other than "add salt every now and again" , i was totally lost when after the recent high winds we had here in the valley, blew leaves from my two huge mulberry trees into my pool. They sank to the bottom and i tried to get them out, but leaves were blowing in faster than i could get them out. i gave up and covered the pool until the winds stopped a day or two after. BROWN LEAVES GREEN WATER. IT LOOKED LIKE A SWAMP. My wife told me, she had seen a place called leslie's pools on a recent trip to turlock, so off i went. When i arrived, two men Caleb and Cesar assisted me. After telling them the above story, they immediately knew what i needed. I went home, followed there directions, and within two hours the pool was clear. Crystal clear. The important thing here, is that they are both young men and were respectful to me, they tolerated my lack of knowledge, that they knew their product and were eager to assist me. It's hard to find younger people with those qualities these days. It can only be attributed to their character and training. Try finding that type of service at home depot! All i can say is kudos to the person that trained them and that both Calib and Cesar are fantastic. The world needs more up and comers like them. read more

Received great service from the young man working there, explained to me how the vacuum worked and if it would not work out with me to return it hassle free for something Great service, charismatic, friendly and extremely helpful, will be back for my other pool supplies at this store!! read more

They have it if you need and want it including knowledge and diagrams and parts. However they are highly overpriced, it's to bad I can't give them more stars based on the high prices. If they could just sharpen their pencil I would love to only do business with Leslie's. Perhaps their rent is high and they have to cover large overhead. At this point I will continue to purchase the staples I need at a more reasonably priced stores and continue with Leslie's when I need a specialty item right away. They do have some good help and I wish them the best. read more

This review is a long time coming. Right before winter, my sand filter cracked. Cesar was awesome. He got us set up with a new one, and fast. At one point, there was an issue with the manufacturer, and a shipping glitch. Cesar took care of the problem, and made sure we were taken care of. He offered us a Green to Clean treatment for free if the pool should turn before the new filter arrived, and arranged for install to arrive earlier than anticipated in order to have our filter in as soon as possible. Our pool never turned green, so I did not need to take him up on his kind offer, but he followed up with me several times to be sure my pool was looking good and everything was running smoothly. I appreciate him and his efforts, very much! read more

Any pool owner will quickly realize that they need to buy bulk and avoid this store like the plague. Get your shock and tablets from costco, go to Ireland's in Modesto for advice and save this annoyance of a store for the obscure things that fall in the cracks. Be prepared to wait a minimum of 10 minutes for help(21 minutes last time I went) and then pay 2-3 times what you can will pay online. I don't blame the kids that work there because corporate never seems to staff the store with enough help. The staff turnover is predictable since any decent employee is going to bolt at the first oppportunity of something better. Turlock deserves better than this attempt at a pool supply store. read more

Employees seem frustrated to answer questions, especially regarding returns or refunds. Even if there is someone in the back, they never call someone up if it is busy. If someone needs their water tested, prepare to wait. Even if it is just to ask a question, they won't even look at you until they are done. Tried to buy a new pool liner for an above ground pool purchased there- they couldn't find it in the book, so the response was, "I don't know what to tell you". I went in to the store a week ago and was surprised to find such nice service. Usually stores like this get you in and out without really putting in quality service. Came in to return a unneeded product. It was past the return policy of 14 days. I returned it on day 21. I am stuck with a 80 charge and I may possibly not do business with them anymore. The associate wasn't concerned with helping just kept repeating the policy. I wasn't even offered a store credit. Thanks for the horrible service. Absolutely poor customer service. My mom was at the store and wanted to question an employee about whether a display item was identical to a packaged item. The employee rather than answer her question instead replied rudely that she can't purchase the item. She told him she didn't want to buy it, just wanted to know if they were the same. He then replied saying he was just gonna go put it away then. Never answered her question. She then left the store not purchasing anything. read more

We brought in our 5 ear old Hayward pool sweeper and chatted with Cesario about it, hoping to revive it! He showed us a few options for replacement and encouraged us to bring in the old one and have it serviced. $60 later in some parts and we are good to go! The store advertises that they have "Experts" on staff. If you need an expert in being interupted mid sentence, they have that. If you need an expert in blank stares when you ask a question, the have that. If you need experts in ignoring customers they have that. If you need an expert in vacuous dumb expressions who suffer from a complete lack of product knowledge, then that's the place to go. If you need experts in overcharging you for simple Plastic Products then Leslie's Swimming Pool Supplies is the store you need to shop in. However if you go in looking for an expert on the workings of swimming pools, chemicals, or swimming pool parts..... you will immediately become the victim of false advertising. Such a disaster of a store. This place has taken a downward spiral any pool owner will know that consistently shops here. In the recent months the staffing has become horrible. The only knowledgable staff they had are both gone now with an exception to the manager. I feel like this company is trying to drive the turlock store into the ground. I've been a loyal customer here for the last 3 years ever since I got a pool. The staff at the time set me up and guided me along with ease and encouragement. This new look and feel at Leslies is not what turlock deserves. I will not be back and will have a pool service from here on out. I encourage others to do the same and avoid the disappointment and headache of the "new look" leslies. read more

I went to Leslie's to pick up some pool chemicals as Target has quit selling them altogether. I as impressed by the selection. Jon and Timothy helped me with my questions. They suggested I bring in my water to test. Upon performing the testing they informed me that my PH was high and that could be causing my water to cloud. I bought some some chemicals to reduce my Ph. I also picked up some conditioner and a few other pool tools. My wife was upset that I ended up spending almost 150 dollars but she was happy with the results. Our water is now much clearer. Overall I had a positive experience. My only negative was that the store was pretty crowded. read more

I am SO disappointed in this place... Went in to purchase an above ground pool. The lady working gave us the brochures (which she wrote the prices on) and we went home to review and decide. When we went back the store manager would not honor the prices the clerk had given us the day before, as he said she was wrong when she quoted them. So... we order, at the MUCH higher prices, and were told our pool would be in on Friday. Only part of it arrived. (Which they shipped to the store and I had to go pickup, instead of shipping direct to the house). Based on the time frames given when we ordered the pool, we rented a tractor and had lots of help come from out of town to put this bad boy together. We tear into the boxes and we see notes everywhere that say if you do not put the pool together correctly, the warranty is void. It would be much easier to put it together correctly, BUT IT DID NOT INCLUDE ANY DIRECTIONS. We called Leslies at 6:30 Saturday night when we discovered this and were told that the manager had gone for the day and that there is nothing they can do. I called back at 9:02 Sunday morning and explained the situation to the manager that we purchased the pool from. He was nice, and said he would call the manufacturer and get right back to us. At 11:58 I called back (as we had not gotten a call back yet) and was told that "we are really busy today, I have customers here, you will just have to wait". Wait for what? Am I not a customer? I have a tractor costing $270 a day on standby, and am still feeding and housing out of town guests that came to help, in hopes that we can move forward with this project. (and NO, the instructions are not online, tried that too) We are going in person again today to pick up the liner and HOPEFULLY the instructions. At this point, I wish I could give ZERO stars. The way we were treated after our pool was paid for has been horrible. It appears to me, that once they have your money, they no longer care about you as a customer. read more

Usually, my husband handles most of our pool supply needs, however he was out of town recently on a 6 month business trip and left me in charge of keeping our lovely pool in good shape. I immediately went to the larger chain stores in town (Walmart and Lowe's) hoping to find knowledgeable salespeople to help with my pool problems. Instead I was met with rude and basic customer service. Feeling disheartened, I figured my last hope would be the Leslie's I passes by everyday on my drive home. It turned out to be such a blessing! A young sales associate named Cody answered all my questions, and even provided me with information on how to prevent problems my pool might encounter in the future and how to counteract them! He was sweet, charismatic, and genuinely seemed to care not only about his job, but my individual pool needs as well! With Cody's help I was able to maintain our pool and have it in better better shape than before my husband left! I refused to get pool supplies from anywhere else, and now that my husband is back I always make sure he doesn't go anywhere but this Leslie's! (P. S. it doesn't hurt that he's a very handsome young man as well! LOL :-) read more

The absolute rudest manager I've ever dealt with in any buisness situation. Juan is his first name and I got short rude answers to any questions then misinformation on products. I'm returning what I bought and will NEVER step foot in this store again. I can't believe he is in the position he is. The other guy in the store had no clue and every time he asked Juan the manager he even got the short answer with a grown man rolling his eyes.
