This Lowes has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. We purchased our appliances through them and spent tons of money just to have them mess up the delivery date four times. Not only did they mess up the delivery date, when they appliances finally arrived (washer/dryer) they did not have all of the parts to hook them up even though we had purchased those parts over a month in advance. XPO, the third party delivery company they use were also no help when they finally got the washer and dryer delivered. The drain hose would not fit. Instead of fixing it they gave up and left the house. When you ask them why parts are not delivered they blame Lowes. Then when you talk to Lowes they bad mouth XPO and blame them. Terrible partnership between the two companies that obviously do not have the simple skill of communication down between them. Would never recommend using Lowes for any major appliances. read more

My wife and I have a severe problem with the terrible biased customer service in both your Chester and Middletown, New York locations. Yesterday in Middletown was our breaking point. Once again when we asked for help we were absolutely brushed off and transparently avoided. The manager Simon who usually works there was off, and he is one of the only people working there who does his job and shows us respect. This review does not reflect on him as he was not working that day. There were more employees than customers in Middletown that evening. My wife and I have seen contractors coming in and being properly helped on many occasions while we were ignored and disrespected. My wife is black and I am a transgender, so I hope you give all your employees a lesson in helping EVERY customer regardless of race, belief, nationality or orientation. Our time was wasted yesterday for hours while we patiently waited. I work in retail as well so I can spot a weak excuse or bad worker when I see one. We do not have time or money to waste. Do not get any installation work done through Lowe's. It was absolutely the most horrific experience. We had a kitchen designed and the designers forgot to order many pieces and took months to get them ordered/the wrong pieces kept being reordered. There installer didn't do the floor properly and after installing the kitchen had to rip it out and reinstall it after doing the floor properly. Lowe's stayed they would put everything back just as well but anything we didn't do through Lowe's they were unwilling to fix even though they originally said they would since they were taking responsibility for the kitchen needing to be ripped. When trying to speak with anyone they give you the run around. 15 months later our kitchen is still not done, we have a leak in our roof due to the installer not properly installing the stove vent, and they are unwilling to do anything for us. I wish I could give this store a zero. Specifically the outdoor garden section. Every time I have gone there (which is about once a year because I loathe this middletown store) I remember why I dislike the store so much. The associates aren't friendly, and never assist you in what you're looking for. This morning I went in to find a tree which I had just checked to make sure it was in stock. I asked the girl who I hunted down to get answers and she just replied they probably sold it already. When I had told her I just checked online, she said to look over in the tree section. I then asked her to help me look because I couldn't find it and she told me to just keep looking. That maybe I'd find it. The other associated were having private conversations and even though they made eye contact with me, never even offered assistance. I'm always shocked at how terrible this store is. If you want incredible customer service and amazing finds, drive a little further to Chester. The lowes there is top notch! read more

The management is garbage you ask them for help and instead of answering your question they'll page to have an employee come meet you in a certain aisle. Expect to wait a half hour or more before anyone comes over to assist you. Also if your have decks installed by Lowes have them print out an itemized list of the materials with the prices that they are charging you for. As a former employee I've seen it time and time again how the "PSE" employee rips off the customer over charging them on items. For instance a 3/8" nut sells for about 10cents however the "PSE" guy who does the quote makes up his own prices. That same nut that you can buy in store for around 10 cents he charged a customer almost $750 that's a hell of a mark up. When I asked him about it he looked right at me and said with no shame well yeah we got to make money somewhere and the customer never see's the prices I charge them.
