Lowes delivered the wrong order to my house and dropped 10 bags of dirt on my lawn. First Bollingbrook insisted they did not deliver, although the sticker said Bollingbrook and they told me Naperville delivered. After 30 minutes of multiple calls to both places, I was told Bollingbrook was incorrect and they did indeed deliver the wrong order with the wrong name. I was then told someone would come out to take the 10 bags of dirt off my grass and replace with my order. I am now being told 24 hours later (my grass is probably dead) that no, they won't replace my order because only a manager can do that, alll lowes can do is pick up the wrong order and refund me leaving me without my order and no way to get it (I have a bad back) and dead grass as I have no one to move the order until whenever they decide to show up, even though they promised me yesterday they would corrrect every thing by the end of the day. Disappointing Installation Experience - Incomplete Service, Poor Communication, and Lack of Professionalism I recently ordered a washer, dryer, and refrigerator from Lowe's and paid for installation of all three. Unfortunately, this experience was frustrating from the start and only got worse as it went on. After placing my order, I realized I had accidentally submitted two orders and was charged twice for delivery. I called Lowe's right away to have it corrected, but the person who answered the phone said they were just filling in and that someone would call me back. No one ever did. On the day of delivery, I received a text saying the crew would arrive at 8:15 AM, so I got up early and emptied out my refrigerator in preparation. However, the team didn't arrive until 10:00 or 11:00 AM, with no update or courtesy call to inform me of the delay. When the installer arrived, he checked the space for the refrigerator but did not check the laundry area at all. I had to ask him directly to verify whether the stackable washer/dryer unit would fit, and only then did he look and say it wouldn't. He then informed me I had ordered an electric unit instead of gas--a common mistake--but he appeared visibly annoyed while explaining it. Because my setup couldn't accommodate electric, I refused delivery of the washer and dryer. As for the refrigerator, I had paid $50 for haul-away service and had already removed all the shelves and drawers to make the process easier. Despite that, the installer was irritated when I reminded him to take them, left fingerprints all over my front door, failed to remove the protective tape from the new refrigerator, and offered no guidance on reinstalling the shelving, leaving one shelf loose inside. Overall, the service felt rushed, disorganized, and unprofessional--from the double charge and lack of callback to the careless attitude of the installer. For the amount I paid, I expected far better treatment and attention to detail. I hope Lowe's seriously reviews how its installation services and customer support are being handled. read more

More than a great hardware store! Yesterday we had our sons 5th birthday party here. This new Build a Party program was absolutely amazing. From start to finish, everyone from Lowe's who worked on this party was so kind, patient and understanding. The team made the entire process stress free for us. They provided a great time and environment for every child and parent that we had invited to the party. They had an amazing party area set up where the kids were able build a race car kit with the direction of the party captain. There was also an area for kids to play bag toss, Jenga, and with other toys. After pizza and cake the kids were able to play with their new race cars and toys in the party area until the party ended. I would really recommend Lowe's birthday parties for anyone looking for a fun and unique option for a memorable day. We can't thank everyone at Lowe's enough. Awful experience. Was happy to purchase a washer and drier from them. Great delivery and installation option. Everything went downhill when they came to deliver. They would not uninstall my machine as they said there was corrosion on the pipe. Advised them this was never mentioned to us at the store. I called the store asking for a full refund. They changed their website after I made the purchase because of their error and I am told the only option is return and they will give me a gift card for my inconvenience. They said I technically only paid for one pot so they will not honor it, but per their website I paid for what was advertised . I declined the extra gift card. I just want what I ordered please! We purchased our fence from Lowe's in late October. Premier was the contactor chosen to install the fence. Materials were delivered in December. They sat in our driveway all winter until March when Premier came to install the fence. However, the gate was not ordered by Lowe's and was not delivered so could not be installed. My sister decided to trust her kitchen redesign cabinets to Lowe's (Schuler cabinet brand). Bad call. My sister has been abandoned by Lowe's and Schuler cabinetry (she ordered these "custom" Cabinets through Lowes). Her construction started in January. Some basic numbers are that they have had to order 4 sets of panels, 3 different vent hoods, and 3 sets of cabinets. Each with an added 4-6wk delay. They received items in the wrong color, items they didn't need, and numerous other damaged items that were small. They all came from Schuler Cabinetry. No. One. Is helping at Lowe's OR Schuler. Jessica Stratton (designer) has been in constant contact with Schuler and Lowes, and it appears they do not care to help this nightmare situation. read more

Happy to stop by this Lowe's whenever I need something around the house. It is in a great location, next to some of the other stores that I frequent. I've never had any trouble finding whatever I need. Helpers are usually around the corner if I'm in a tight spot and can't find some hung right away. Lowe's Home Improvement does accurately what a hardware store must do! At first, I am a huge critic of the positive reviews viewed on yelp, but so far, local home depot has done a marvelous job that precedes their reputation. Entering the store is not too crowded and clean at the same time. I have never been to a hardware store before that is more organized than home depot. They take care of everything from purchasing to the delivery of the materials in an exact time scheduled. You don't need to look for other stores with the same items at the lowest price because home depot got you covered. I always receive great offers and deals in this store. They have a lower price for raw materials like lumbers, play woods, burnished blocks, sand, gravel, cement, etc. My overall impression of the store, they provide quality products at such a low price. There may be an issue with their customer service, but they did what my expectation was, and I will get back to purchase some more items for future projects in this store. read more

We shopped Lowes home appliance department during a sale. Customer service is non-existent there. Associates were nowhere to be found on our first early evening visit and we were abandoned by another associate on a visit the next day. Our questions and concerns were dismissed outright and any product knowledge not already on the appliance tag was not on display. I wanted to buy a Razor electric dirt bike for my grandson. The bikes are available online, but need to be assembled. I contacted Lowe's and spoke with Jasmine. The level of customer service from Jasmine and her team was exceptional. She ordered the bike and kept in contact to let me know when it arrived at the store and when assembly was completed. She even arranged to have the bike kept in the customer service department until I was ready to pick it up so it would not get scratched. Jasmine and her team were amazing! Horrible customer service -- We ordered a patio dining set and the table came with a huge crack and some scratches. Spent 6 days going back and forth with Lowe's general Customer Service (waiting hours, no call-backs) to get it picked up for an exchange. This morning Naperville store customer service claimed there were no scratches or cracks, that it was just part of the design. We took multiple pictures before returning (thank goodness) so we could dispute their claims the table was fine. In the end Naperville customer service told us they could not process an exchange, only a return, and we would have to re-order it ourselves, even though this was not what we were promised (exchange and ship high priority). Regarding Kitchen Design: YILDIZ (Kitchen Designer): I highly recommend Yildiz with your kitchen design. She is knowledgeable and has good customer service. Her design ideas worked well with us. She is patient and helpful. She will often call you on her days off to help you with your project. She can price match with Home Depot and will do her best to get you the deal you need to build your dream kitchen. KRAFTMAID Cabinets: Our Kraftmaid cabinets looks great from the outside, but some minor issues with their quality. WASTE BASKET CABINET: It was delivered having the front door skewed. ISLAND CABINET: Parts of the island kick-board had the tips of the nails sticking out which are barely seen, but can scratch if anyone happens to rub their foot onto them. PANTRY: One of the pantry pull out drawers rails was kept detaching from the side of the cabinet. We had to glue the railing into the pantry door. CABINET DELIVERY: Wastebasket cabinet delayed 2 weeks. Received one broken island panel...replacement 2 weeks. CUSTOMER SERVICE: There was a moment when the customer service was terrible. Yildiz was on vacation and needed to work with customer service to make a payment...see history below. 5/13/19: I'm trying to pay for cabinet panels we ordered with Yildiz and she instructed me to call customer service to place the order. I've been transferred 6 times and placed on hold for 15 mins. The CUSTOMER SERVICE I experienced that day was terrible. 5/16/19: I called 4 times, one every hour, trying to reach the Store Manager, but did not get a return call. We order a full kitchen cabinet replacement and there was a mix up on the cabinet delivery. We received most of the cabinets on Friday (as scheduled), but one base cabinet was placed on a separate order which was scheduled for a 5/17/19 delivery date. I have no idea how one base cabinet is separated from the entire order. The kitchen renovation was base around the FULL delivery of these Kraftmaid cabinets. We have a scheduled counter-top measurement tomorrow which may require to have this piece installed. Also, I now have to pay extra for the installer to come in when the base cabinet arrives. I was very happy with Lowe's until this issue. I am most upset that I did not receive a call back after many attempts to reach the Store Manager. I will try calling again tomorrow morning to see how they will resolve this issue. I'm not sure if the manager even got the message. Eventually, Abby at Kitchen and Bath helped me out while Yildiz was on vacation and was able to address the issue stated above. I was extremely frustrated that I had to wait and make several call attempts and had to wait a few days until Abby called me. 5/29/19: Kitchen is finally installed, but waiting for a couple of end panels for the wall cabinets. I will add that Yildiz did a great job helping with the design. Design Help (Yildiz) gets a 5 out of 5. Lowes Customer Service gets a 3 out of 5. Kraftmaid gets a 4 out of 5. Outcome: I highly recommend Lowes (Yildiz) for your Kitchen Design, but double and tripple check that all orders have been scheduled for delivery on the same day. FYI...there may be some items that may be delivered broken...keep that in mind...it happens and it happened to us. read more

I had the best experience at this store and it's entirely due to Al Nichols in the flooring department who was incredibly helpful, kind and knowledgeable. My sister and I went in to look at a few departments as we're both working on our homes. I really wasn't sure what I should be looking for in buying carpeting. Al gave us so much useful information. Mind you, I have been to several other stores looking at carpeting and this was the most useful and informative place for me. When my sister asked about engineered wood and laminates, Al gave us still more useful information. Incredibly helpful. What a horrible store to deal with. We ordered custom blinds and one was broken when it arrived. The Lowes installer notified them for an expedited replacement and so the nightmare begins. It took them over a week to put that order in because the woman in that department told me she was busy and does things when she has time and if I didn't like it file a complaint. The assistant store manger was no help either and just brushed the incident aside. I will never order or shop in this store again. I shopped at your Lowes on 1440 South Rt 59 Naperville and was assisted by Rich and Vince. I was pleasantly suprised with your two employee's that were representing the best a company has to offer a shopper. I needed a few boxes of ceiling tile that weigh fifty pounds and were high stacked at the back of the store. Rick and Vince unloaded the stack and loaded the boxes on my cart. There are three hardware stores within three miles of my location they are Menard's, Home Depot and Lowe's. I don't own my home, so I'm not required to do a lot of maintenance stuff, and I don't have a general hard-on for hardware, so I don't spend a lot of time at stores like this. But, I recently acquired a cool piece of furniture that needs some TLC. I'm eager to take on this task, but know very little of the skills/tools required. After some hunting on Pinterest and chats with more savvy friends I had a sense about what I would need, but still was aware that some hand-holding would be necessary. The project requires removing the finish on an old, beat-up piece of wooden furniture (as well as the judicious removal of some hard-to-access handles), then restaining and sealing. I wasn't sure whether to sand or strip the surface, then what kind of stain to use, then how to seal the surface. Enter Roberto in the Paint department. He advised me on all the products, as well as the different versions for what results I might want (satin vs. semi-gloss etc.), and the steps of staining and sealing. I also needed something to lift the piece off the ground to stain, and the small plastic points in the painting department looked pretty perilous for my big object, so I headed to lumber where they cut a big board into blocks for me: serviceable to keep it off the cement floor! The only remaining issue was the removal of the handle, which is going to be hard; the fellow I asked had a few suggestions but when I questioned their practicality seemed a little angry (I'm basically concerned that I don't ruin anything about the piece, so pardon me). I'm trying one of his suggestions, but am going to be very careful...and if it doesn't work, I invested in a rather $$ tool for naught.... Overall, I think the service was good, especially the paint area, and I wasn't made to feel stupid (as has happened at Home Depot before). So the next time you feel like channeling your inner Ron Swanson, look to Lowes. read more

I'm not going to write an in-depth review of a hardware store. That would make zero sense. I'm writing this review to give props to an employee. I didn't catch his name but the guy working in the blinds section yesterday afternoon provided excellent customer service. Lowe's was running a sale on blinds, which never go on sale. So this guy was inundated with customers, including one customer who had 27 blinds to be cut. Anyways, this Lowe's employee greeted each customer with a smile and courteous service, while getting the job done the right way. I ordered a piece that they said would be delivered to the store on Wed. According to the tracking it got there on the previous Sunday! The store never found it. I talked with customer service and they put me on hold for 75 minutes when I hung up and called them back. Customer Service did not help at all and were just rude when they told me that the people in charge of that just went home (leaving me on hold). I won't go back to the Hwy 59 store again and will use Ace Hardware whenever possible and then it's Menards or Home Depot. Awful service. They just don't care. read more
