I ordered a piece that they said would be delivered to the store on Wed. According to the tracking it got there on the previous Sunday! The store never found it. I talked with customer service and they put me on hold for 75 minutes when I hung up and called them back. Customer Service did not help at all and were just rude when they told me that the people in charge of that just went home (leaving me on hold). I won't go back to the Hwy 59 store again and will use Ace Hardware whenever possible and then it's Menards or Home Depot. Awful service. They just don't care. read more

Kind of pathetic... so I go in at 6 p.m. on a weekday to look for an item. There is nobody in the whole department. There's nobody within two departments over. After looking at being frustrated because there's nobody to help despite my efforts and looking for somebody I decided to leave. On my way out the door I turned to a clerk on my way out the door after her saying have a great day. I told her what had happened that I looked all over half of the store to find someone to help me with $1,000 + purchase and there was nobody. And all she could say was "Ohh okay" & "hmm ooh okay". My wife and I ordered Pella windows from Lowe's mid last year 2021 and the work still has not been completed in March 2022. given Covid, we were expecting a wait, but the issue has been with the installers. we've been the one's who have had to talk to Lowes corporate team, local installers and the Naperville store and no one has taken responsibility for getting this window installed. My second attempt at getting a quartz granite top for our remodel has now been messed up. Lowe's has said now that it is the "vendors fault" and they will see what they can do. We are now attempting to get our 3rd counter top for our bathroom for our remodel and management at store level, specifically Keith Jackson the store manager, don't seem to have a sense of urgency. I'm just talking about one experience I had at Lowe's this weekend. I'm thinking they're not always this bad. I'll try to do another review the next time we shop there, and give them another chance. We bought a refrigerator with a water and ice dispenser in the front. The salesman upsold my husband on the extended warranty, which I suppose is okay, except he was kind of pushy about it. The salesman told us it would be very simple to install the water line. The delivery guys (who were very nice and helpful) said that they send us the wrong kit. They said, no problem, just call Lowe's and they'll send someone right out to fix it. When we called Lowe's the salesman laughed and said they don't ever come out and he had sent us the correct kit. We had an existing line, but our salesman from Lowe's said not to use it and to replace it with plastic. The plumber we finally called let us know that the kit Lowe's sold us was not appropriate, since it was plastic. He told us that using a saddle valve is also against code. The plumber was able to hook up our water line in a matter of minutes, using the appropriate COPPER tubing. I was disappointed to get such bad advice from a salesperson. My husband was quite frustrated that we paid for a kit that we couldn't use and then they gave us so much incorrect advice. read more

I'm on the phone now with installed sales customer service. I bought my screen door almost 1 year ago and I still don't have it. The one delivered was the wrong size. It was late fall and turned winter before installation. I completely forgot and didn't think about it until spring. I've visited the store probably 5 times since this spring and called at least 8 times. Promise after promise....Still I have no screen door installed. I had been looking everywhere for greenery for inside my house, because I wanted to start my kids on a new hobby during winter. While wondering around the house plant department and struggling to read tags and concentrate while my 2 year old daughter was grabbing at leaves out of excitement, I was greeted by two OUTSTANDING employees. I want to say their names were Natalia and Ryan. ( it was December 10th at about 10AM, so who ever works in that section at that time) they informed me of what plants were difficult to take care of, how much brightness they required. Etc... all while including my daughter in the conversation.Needless to say I walked out with SIX new plants for myself and my children to take care of. 4 of them are almost 4 feet tall!! This was seriously the best customer service I've received in years. And I will never shop for plants anywhere but this store, so long as the employees continue to be so kind and helpful to a hot mess mama walking around the store in slippers with a rowdy toddler. I like to get low with Lowe's. (I don't know what "get low" means, but I'm assuming it's positive.) Coming from an unhandy suburban chick, I don't go here with hardcore home improvement intentions, so I can't speak to any of that. What I can speak to is that the staff is friendly, and we got carpet installed from here, and I love it! It was super affordable and the new carpet is so soft I have to stop myself from rolling around in it like a pig in mud. Lowe's also lacks the bad mojo that I seem to feel at Home Depot. For years, me and my boo would go to Home Depot and get into the worst arguments! It was always over something stupid, like disagreeing on what color of beige paint we'd buy. It has like bad energy or something. I can proudly say we've never had tempers flare at good old Lowe's. That in itself is a fantastic reason for getting Low(e). read more

I know that as a man, my adrenaline is supposed to kick in when I visit a store like Lowe's Home Improvement. "Finally," I'm supposed to think, "a store that caters to my interests." Well, that's just not me. I get confused by too many wrenches. I prefer not to go shopping for wood. I'll let someone else pick out the family wet-vac. All this being said, the customer service here is excellent, and I prefer the aesthetic of Lowe's Home Improvement to Home Depot. We found a good selection of gardening supplies here. I never knew how affordable bags of dirt were. I'm still unlikely to engage you in a conversation about flooring, but this is a good place to shop for your home project needs. read more

Darned nice folks - better than Home Depot and Menard's. The store manager is usually on the floor answering questions or assisting employees, and I think that sets some stores apart - especially those with large operations. We've purchased miscellaneous parts and housewares here, a cool light fixture, and our new kitchen floor. Prices are exceptional. They couldn't beat our preferred flooring shop (Flooring America) on price, but the installation guys were knucklehead independent contractors. It also took over a month from the time we ordered to when installation was finally complete. It's hard for small stores to compete with these big guys on price, but I may be willing to sacrifice a few bucks in the future for better service from the little guys. read more

Purchased a refrigerator from Lowe's in June 2011. Sales staff was friendly, helpful, and not at all pushy about warranties, service plans, etc. Lowe's has free delivery and haul-away. How else am I going to get a broken refrigerator out of my house? I was happy I didn't have to figure it out. The delivery guys though, are a piece of work. They called me about five times to try and find my house. I had to stand in my driveway and flag them down. When they delivered the refrigerator, they installed the appliance but did not hook up the ice maker. They also left styrofoam, tape, cardboard, and other packaging materials strewn about my kitchen. I called Lowe's several times about the ice maker, and they said that although the refrigerator came with a free icemaker, they do not hook them up. It was a really frustrating interaction. I also purchased a stove from Lowe's on Black Friday 2011. Sales staff was surprisingly alert and upbeat for such a busy day. Finally, countertop contractor came back. They took apart and reinstalled countertop. They finally did admit poor install. But I needed the boss to come out. He got the job gone alone with Gina the granite company rep that works with Lowes. They finally seen what was wrong. Now everything fits good and looks good. I so wish this problem never happened and all the aggravation because workers did not want to fix the poor install. Now all good. I am glad I bought from Lowes. Ordered materials their very poor app said were in stock for a project, waited all day to pick up, then they call at 4:30 and say they don't have it, have to transfer order to another store. Wasted the entire day. Right after I got that call, Synchrony has me on the phone for 20 mins because they think my charges are fraudulent. I only opened the dang account to get a 5% discount, not worth it. It's 5:30 and I still don't even have a notice saying I can pick it up. Never again. read more

My husband & I recently got married & moved into a town house out in the burbs. All my adult life, I have lived in high rise apartment complexes in big cities where the maintenance guys took care of every little issue. Needless to say, we were rookies & needed a lot of help & advice when it came to fixing up our new place so that it's functional & comfortable. The employees at Lowe's were always incredibly patient, kind, educational & helpful - no question was too dumb despite my female vocabulary when describing what I needed (which most of the time, I wasn't even sure what it was!). They always approach you more than happy to help without being insistent, walk you through every step in detail if necessary & get you all the tools needed! Basically, we had our personal handymen going with us all over the store! Although we left with very unhappy wallets each time, we were very confident in our purchases & happy with the service. Reading the reviews below I can see my experience would have been no surprise to me if I had read the reviews by people below who had delivery attached to their purchase and/or those who had to deal with the customer service department at this place, which should be called the customer ignore department. We bought a refrigerator from this place on Friday. I was very clear when we got it that the doors would need to be reversed so they would open on the right side instead of the left side. Sales guy said, no problem and I saw him type it into the order. Guys arrived on Saturday and brought the refrigerator up. The doors were not reversed. They said it was nowhere on the order--and they were right. It was not there. They stayed to reverse them but it caused all sorts of problems especially during COVID. The delivery guys themselves were upset because they said they would have done the reversal out in the parking lot before bringing it up and it set them back on their delivery schedule. One of the delivery guys starting having horrible breathing problems because we used to have bunnies and he is evidently allergic. The other guy waltzed in without a mask (are you kidding me?? My husband has Stage 4 cancer!!) and when I told him he had to leave unless he put on a mask he never offered an apology. They had dirty tools all over our kitchen counters. But none of this would have happened if the order had been correctly communicated to them. The worst part? In an effort to find out where the ball was dropped and to alert them to what happened so maybe they could do something to make sure it did not happened to another customer-- I called customer service at this Lowe's 3 TIMES YESTERDAY to discuss this. The first customer rep. said she would transfer me back to the appliance department and instead hung up on me. The second customer service rep. said--well the company probably didn't get all the info. because Lowe's doesn't send all our info. because they don't want to divulge personal information (what? like that we want the doors reversed?) and proceeded to say he was transferring us back to the appliance department and ended up disconnecting the call AGAIN! So I called A THIRD time and left my name and number and demanded that a manager call me back. This person assured me a manager would call me right back and NO ONE EVER CALLED BACK. Perhaps If you need to run into this store and get something you can transport yourself things will go fine as reflecting in some of the reviews here BUT If you need anything delivered or are hoping for any sort of customer service when you call this place FORGET ABOUT IT! Go elsewhere! They do not care. If the company they are hiring to do deliveries is not getting the message to their movers/installers of what the customer needs to have done THAT IS A PROBLEM THAT THEY SHOULD CARE ABOUT HAVING CORRECTED ESPECIALLY DURING COVID!!! The buck ultimately stop at Lowe's. And in this case--this Lowe's. I hired Lowe's Naperville to do a simple flooring job. They use a 3rd party contractor who never finished the job. I've been fighting with Lowe's for 4 months to resolve the problem. Not exactly an issue with the Naperville Store as much as it about trying to contact them by phone. No one answers on any telephone line. Don't bother calling anyone there. You'll be on hold for the rest of your life. Additionally, online ordering through Lowe's is not worth the trouble. Ordered something for in-store pick up; went on the date it was to arrive, store did not have the order or did not know when it would actually arrive which really means they're unable to actually fill the order and advertise products they don't have. Decent selection, staff is friendlier than other stores, but horrible inventory system and management. Bottom line, if they don't have it in the store, don't bother with Lowe's. read more

No communication between the store and delivery. Bought a new refrigerator, discussed all the specs, kitchen dimensions, and special requirements with the sales rep. Delivery guy comes in like a TASMANIAN DEVIL ...VERY rushed, disheveled, didn't have any info that was previously discussed, kept bumping everything, knocked a kitchen table lamp of the table, it SHATTERED and broke, then they tell me there is a copper line (for water) that needs to be disconnected and of course they cant do it. I have never moved my fridge and assumed that pulling out the old one and plugging in the new one is part of the delivery. They had NO advise on what to do, said they cant help me and hurried out saying that I "declined the delivery". Even though I got the EXTENDED warranty AND paid for the delivery. Now, I need to call a plumber and then reschedule the delivery. The buck ultimately stop at Lowe's making the sale. The worst service I could have ever expected out of a retailer that doesn't seem to care. I'll explain... I ordered all new Pella windows for my house April 2021 spending $24k from the Naperville IL lowes. The windows showed up in June. The soonest the installers could get us in was July. During the installation it was discovered that 2 were broken completely, one window they installed with a broken window insert and a part missing on another awning window. The installers assured me they communicated back to Lowes everything that was needed after they installed what they could. This is where my nightmare begins. A month goes by and nothing from Lowes. No confirmation or any signs of life that they are taking care of my order. I have to call them and email them to only to find out they have not done anything with the replacement order nor the insert or the parts. So it took me calling to initiate the reorder of the broken windows while I'm on vacation mind you. The store promised me it was all taken care of. I had hail damage and was waiting for the windows to be installed so the siding folks could come in afterwards... October comes and i finally have to commit to getting my siding done before the replacement windows arived. The installers taped around the outside of the windows so that they would hold the elements out until the installers could install the last two windows. Fast forward to November when the replacement windows finally show up. The installer tells me Feb 8th is the soonest and wont budge. What am I supposed to do? so I wait until February and they deliver the windows to my house. On the scheduled date of installation only one installer comes out do a second story installation and reschedules on me because weather conditions aren't that great and was also looking for any excuse possible to reschedule. He calls his boss who apparently was on vacation in Florida complaining that he isn't going to be able to do it. fine... at this point what's a few more days to wait for better weather and get this done. Plenty of warm fantastic days go by and nothing... I unwrap my windows just to make sure everything is in there and sure enough one of the windows inserts that needed to be replaced was not in there (even though they said they ordered it). That window keep in mind is broken where it locks the window. So no security issues there at all being on the ground level... I call the store Late March to address the issue and talked to Ray. He reassured me he was going to look into it. ALL of it and he would get back to me. He... Never... Called... Fast forward to may 4th of 2022. I've had conversations with Lowes installation services. They didn't know since it was still in "Scheduled" status even though the date was in the past? They said they've escalated it. I get the same "Well we will call the contractor" and nothing comes of it because the contractor never answers the phone. I was promised calls back on updates both Friday and Monday and sure enough my phone did not ring. I had to call Lowes back on May 10th to again try to push this along and get updates when I shouldn't have to. I always have to call or email Lowes to push progress! The coordinators solution at installation services that I talked to was they would try to call and email... do not give this company your money... I've been a loyal customer for years. I'm embarrassed to say I also recommended them to a family member and they are also fighting to get things finished. You cannot take this kind of money from someone and not follow through. It's been over a year and my project still isn't complete. There has to be a law that protects consumers on out of pocket costs up front that punishes retailers like this. I love the excellent customer service, friendliness, and hard work we've always received from Lori at the Naperville, IL store! Every time I go in there she is the most friendly person there and able to point me in the right direction. Most importantly I admire how well she keeps the customers at ease and things organized during the current pandemic. The way we do things has changed quickly but she's always able to adapt to the situation.
