Highly recommend. We didn't have a fireplace in our home, so we visited the showroom. Erik explained all options and was very easy to work with. Our ventless gas fireplace turned out great. Install took 4 days.

My new Napoleon from Amazon!

Very poor and frustrating experience. I had $1000 in my pocket to buy a grill but Fireplace and Chimney Authority would not sell me one. Would have rated them one star but the sales person, Josh, was a nice man and tried hard. I wanted to buy a Napoleon grill from FCA in Lisle and was greeted my Josh - who as I said was a nice man but was not at all prepared to talk about Napoleon grills. To start off, the prices displayed on the grills were not the same prices Josh was quoting me which were substantially higher than the prices displayed on the grills - when I asked him to check on the discrepancy, he came back to tell me the prices DISPLAYED ON THE GRILL was incorrect. I was looking for a specific model 435 Rogue XT (black finish) which they did not have in stock but they had the same model in stainless steel for a $100 higher price which was OK with me (again, incorrect price displayed on the grill). The price was $949.00. They had a sign saying free delivery and set up on grills over $1000.00. I asked if I purchased accessories to get the total purchase over $1000 if that would qualify for free delivery and set up - Josh went to check with someone and came back and said, "no". I asked what delivery and set up would cost - Josh told me $250.00. Then I asked if I could pay $1000.00 for the $949.00 grill (which was displayed @ $899.00) and get free delivery and set up. Again, I was told "no" and additionally, even if I paid for delivery and set up, it would take several weeks because they were low on help. I then asked if I could buy the floor model which was already assembled. Again, you guessed it, the answer was "no". I mentioned to Josh that on their website, they promoted free delivery; he said that was only when ordering through the web site. My now, I was feeling very apprehensive about giving my business to a company who clearly did not want my business. So, I went home, ordered the grill on Amazon, got it two days later and set up assembly through Amazon for $90.00. So many small businesses complain about Amazon but this is a very good example of what is really killing so many small businesses - they are not willing to compete with Amazon for sales or service. I own a small business and work hard to support other family owned small businesses. It just was not possible with Fireplace and Chimney Authority in Lisle. Very happy with my new Napoleon grill. I highly recommend Napoleon but buy one someplace other than Fireplace and Chimney Authority.

"You get what you pay for." We had an outstanding experience with this company. We shopped around quite a bit, and they were certainly not the cheapest; however, we are very pleased with the Mendota gas fireplace we purchased from them. They delivered exactly what they promised, and sooner than I had expected based upon some of the reviews written here. I likely could have gotten the fireplace installed a little cheaper; however, their installers framed it in, installed it, ran gas/electric, tiled, hung drywall, etc... in just over two days. Also, they showed up when they said they would. The installers very friendly, knew what they were doing, and were complete professionals. We decided to furnish our own mantle (not pictured) and saved a few bucks. I'm also able to finish drywall and paint, so I didn't have to hire that out. I really don't have any critiques of the company, but for future customers, remember to ask for what you want. There were times that the salesperson seemed to point us in a specific direction based upon his experience with other customers. We were very open with him about what we wanted and he was not "pushy" at all; however, I can certainly see how shyer customers might agree to things they don't want. Regardless, at all times we felt the sale person wasn't just trying to "sell us" to move on -- he listened, as did the estimated and the installers, and we are thrilled with the final product.

I called ABT and spoke with Lou (his direct # 847-954-4140). I did some research before I called and liked the Samsung 55." 4K NEO QLED, originally $1,297.99, on sale for $897.99. Lou stated, "They had a sale starting tomorrow (Saturday) and that he could sell it to me for $651.00." Great! Lou said he could have it delivered next Tuesday. I explained my mother's situation and asked if it could be delivered tomorrow, on Saturday. Lou said, "I'll make it happen." Now that is exceptional customer service! Josh Hoffman was the technician who delivered and set up my mother's new Samsung TV. Josh programmed the Xfinity remote to the new TV, and my mother accidentally hit something that made the TV verbally announce everything she did. Josh asked if she wanted that, and my mother said no. Josh was quick-witted and a comedian; he had my mother laughing. You certainly can tell when an employee loves their job! THANK YOU SO MUCH, LOU AND JOSH, FOR MAKING THIS PURCHASE GO SO SMOOTHLY AND ENJOYABLE FOR MOM!

I've been in my house long enough to replace the appliances I bought previously. Since most places that used to sell appliances no longer exist, I feel Abt is the lesser of the evils, better selection and employee knowledge than the big box stores. I don't usual have a positive shopping experience at Abt. I'm mostly ignored and always have to ask someone to help me. I only go to Abt when I need to purchase something so it's ridiculous no one approaches me. Luckily my most recent visit was a positive one. I had to buy a new dryer and didn't know which one to buy. Rodolfo Alvarez was the sales rep that APPROACHED me. Rodolfo was kind and a great listener, I told him what was important to me and he showed me my options. He helped me settle on a LG dryer that I wasn't expecting to choose, but based on what was important to me, fit my requirements the best. Another couple was listening in and based on what he said, I think they decided to go with the same one. I felt bad he couldn't help us both since he should have gotten credit for the other sale as well. I told Rodolfo next time I need something at Abt, I'm calling him. Five stars for Rodolfo! I knocked off a star due to all of my previous unpleasant experiences at Abt.

My Bride and I have been to Wannamaker's over 100 times since moving to Lisle in 2015... so I have…read morea bit of a track record with them. At every interaction, we've *never* had a bad or unpleasant experience there. I read with dismay the several posts here that recount other's experiences. Not having been there with those other Commentors, I certainly can't / won't comment on what they experienced. But I do note a common denominator, folks: many of these tales include, in some way, aspects of "Caveat Emptor". Wannamaker's is a large-ish store, and from shopping there a lot, I note that many Shoppers go there as almost a "field trip" - e.g. not often, and they probably are caught-up in the joy of a store that has literally *Everything* you might want, garden-related. Thus, I posit, they overbuy, and let their Spidey senses down. Perhaps by not counting the number of shoots in a flat, or expecting (and perhaps not documenting) their plantings against a possible future Health claim. As a Disinterested Observer, the store is consistently pretty busy, with complex sales, and have NEVER been staffed to support an Investigative Staff to assist their Customers. These are, really, basic Customer Skills you need to possess (or groom!), ESPECIALLY when living under the fat greasy thumb of His Puissant Orangeness and his Clown Show administration. Trust but Verify. Consider the flip-side here, though: Wannamaker's is a Specialty Store. Sure, they command higher pricing than Wal Mart, because everyone in there is a Professional in their field. They've seen it and done it and planted it. And, regarding Product, if you want it, they probably have it, or can order it for you. I cannot recall in the past decade ever being at Wannamaker's and leaving without what I came for. To me, that justifies the pricing delta. I convey my displeasure by withholding one Star. An Educated Consumer is their Target Customer. After the Sale, it's your Documentation that counts, and - quite possibly - your attitude when seeking whatever restitution your situation demands. Again, I'm not throwing-down at the several posters here who have had negative experiences. I wasn't with you, and I don't know. I'm sorry for your poor experience. But I've never had a bad experience at Wannamaker's, and I always try to support my local brick and mortar businesses!

I had a very disappointing experience at Wannamaker's and will not be returning. When I went back to the store for help, they were completely unhelpful and unwilling to offer a refund or even store credit. Instead, they tried to sell me a $10 bottle of soap that they admitted may or may not work. Beyond that, there was no real guidance, advice, or effort to help resolve the issue. For a specialty nursery with premium pricing, I expected far more expertise and customer care. I strongly believe in supporting small businesses over big box stores, but this place was a complete disappointment. Between the high prices and lack of support, the value just isn't there. I will be finding a new nursery in the spring and highly recommend others look elsewhere as well. If you're looking for quality plants, knowledgeable staff, reasonable prices, and customer care, Wannamaker's is not it.

okay, I'll update here since they finally installed the small granite piece for my stove backsplash…read moreand accommodated my request for first thing in the am. The 3 guys who arrived called ahead 20 min, and were super careful to measure thrice and keep measuring and using a level as the piece dried. I felt very confident watching their concern to get the piece on the backsplash in an attractive and straight manner. They could not have been more professional. I'll say it once and say it again: when you deal with the salespeople at The Granite Corporation (that's their real name not "Granite") you kind of doubt that they have a clue about what they're selling. I don't know what will happen and it takes too long for them to finish up a sale, even though they mean well. However, when the measure & install team shows up, those are the people who really know what they're doing. They are top pros. I asked Sam, my sales person, how are they going to make sure the glue holds on a vertical application, and she did not know. I asked her if I should cover my stove, and she said, don't worry (of course, I did). When they showed up, they scored the back of both my backsplash and the new piece, so more glue would be applied. They applied glue all around the perimeter (not visable). They taped the piece in place and I put a spongy rug on my stove (just in case). They said, glue sets in 10 minutes and they held it that long, and it is good to go in a couple hours when I can take off tape. I would have liked to know that there would be a little granite dust in my kitchen ahead of time, to have removed everything from countertops, but they did hold up a vacuum while they scored my backsplash, so I cannot say that I see any dust (besides my own). They scored the new piece outside my house. The treasure here is the cutting, measuring & install team. They are premium craftsmen, very experienced and know how to communicate with the public. They're the ones who should be selling the granite!

She always meets with us first to see what our vision is and to come up with a plan. She comes back with a personalized proposal quickly - usually within a few days. She helps us with some decisions, based on what we want and what is actually doable/practical for our setting. She doesn't try to sell us on what she thinks we should do, or whatever happens to be in abundance at the nurseries at the moment. Becky is great with communication and is always on site for questions. We've been working with Becky for almost 20 years, and we were thrilled to find out we could work with her again. Unfortunately, we used a different company recently, when we thought Becky wasn't available. We didn't get the same customer service that we get with Landmark. We're glad she's back, and we can continue to work with her!

Several weeks ago I had various landscaping projects completed by Landmark. Initially Becky and I…read morewalked the yard, she then prepared a detailed estimate of the job proposal. That included weeding a large island and landscape beds, tree and shrubbery trimming, shrub removal, bullet paver installation, addition of dirt along the foundation as needed. All work was completed in a timely manner to my complete satisfaction. Last year I used Landmark to repair areas of my paver patio as well as to check and repair my underground drainage from the gutters to the yard. I was so satisfied after that experience I decided to contact them again.
