The only downside is I do not have a truck for hauling these lumber purchases and this Lowe's location does not have truck rentals. I would say this is my go-to Lowe's. It's equidistant to the North Charleston one for me, but I like this one a little better. For the most part I've had good experiences and the random off experience can be chocked up to an employee with a bad attitude or something. Never anything major. They generally have what I'm looking for and a good selection as well. I've done online orders with store pickup over covid and I've also used them for a storm door purchase/install that went great. I loved it so much that the following year I bought the same door for the back of the house, but installed it with a friend. I checked in on their curbside pickup automated phone system which says your order is ready for pick up and that I'm checked in... but no one comes out after 10 minutes so I call and talk to a live person and there is ZERO recognition that I had checked in and she says she'll be out in a few minutes and doesn't show up for another 10 minutes... I call back after 10 minutes and the phone system hangs up on me. I call back again immediately and the automated system transfers me again. 30 minutes later and I still don't have my things. I purchased a refrigerator and freezer at the cost of nearly $5000 from Lowes. I was told it was supposed to be delivered on August 16 and August 17. They did not call to confirm the delivery on the 16th, so I called them. to my surprise, I discovered that both deliveries were rescheduled. The freezer was rescheduled for the 18th, which was when i will be out of town. they have no idea when the refrigerator will be delivered at all! this isn't the first time I've had issues with Lowes deliveries! If I hadn't called, a truck would've been in front of my house on the 18th and no one would've been there to receive the delivery!! I am not happy!! read more

Considering I can't nail two pieces of wood together, I'm not exactly a Pro -- which I believe is the term used by Home Depot for the contractor type of buyer. Which begged the question in my mind, what the heck is the difference between the two home improvement stores? (beside the blue and orange) And perhaps it'll make for a better review, perhaps not, but here goes. I had a Home Depot close by in NYC, so I became quite farmiliar with them, entering Lowes, I first noticed it did not get have that warehouse feel that HD did. This speaks to the point of Lowe's being more do it yourself (DYI) than a parking lot full of pickups and vans with empty styrophome coffee cups strewn across the dashboards. Now living closer to a Lowes, it seems the products are more likely to change at here sooner than at Home Depot. Being a big fan of tapes and sealing sprays, it seems all the newer products reach here first. The floors are kept quite clean (big fan of clean floors here) and you don't have to be Jesse Qwens to chase down some in-store assistance. Prices seem to be about on par with eachother, I'm unsure who put their Christmas offerings up first, but whomever did, I like the other better. read more

My mom loves Lowe's. I typically only come with her and we stick to the garden section. They have a great variety of flowers and plants at reasonable prices. They also have a clearance rack of flowers and plants in the back of the department. I stopped in today to check out their artificial Christmas trees. Pretty typical Lowe's. From my experience Lowe's stores usually have bad to no customer service and this one is the same. You have to step in front of the person and stop them if you need help finding something and they'll just tell you they are not sure or point in the direction of what you need. Unlike Home Depot (across the street) where their customer service is on point. At least I can find what I need at this Lowe's when I search for it myself. read more

MAJOR LETDOWN!!!! I ordered a riding lawnmower on July 20th and received an email stating it would be delivered on August 11. Well, here it is August 11th and no riding lawnmower. Great service here! I came by to grab a couple things for home-improvement. While I am not well-versed in doing home improvement, I had no issues getting what I needed here. I honestly grabbed a random worker in one of the aisles and asked him where to find the items I was looking for, in another area. He wasn't sure but I followed him as he asked someone who would know and I ultimately got to where I needed to be. I asked him where something else was before he left and he told me exactly how to get there. Once I was done at the first location in Egypt, I walked to Africa to my next location (joke:..Lowe's is huge). The same worker saw me on my way there, stopped and took time to show me where the second item I was looking for was. Great customer service! I got everything I needed and was out of there in no time...and got my steps in! ;) read more

This review is for the pro desk. I flip houses and generally have large orders. I go through the pro desk since the QSP program generally applies. I take advantage of the Lowes For Pros, LAR account, credit card, the whole nine yards under my LLC. Lex is the only reason these guys get anything beyond 1 star. She seems to be the only one who is willing and enjoys doing her job. She is super helpful but if you call on her day off and you get the other guys like Anthony or Arnold, you can bet you'll get resistance from them and it seems like they don't want to do their job. They put up obstacles instead of problem solving. I spend thousands at lowes each month and this is the service I get if Lex isn't there? I've never been a Home Depot guy but I'm going to see if they seem to appreciate my business and maybe switch my go-to home improvement store. read more

I spent an hour picking out all the small joints and unions I would need for my project... Compared to home depot across the street this store is pretty well organized today... I get to the checkout, My card declined. I asked if they accept apple pay, they do not, not a problem... can I key in a card? Answer: "we used to, but not any more"... ugh, fine, well "I need put these things on hold, Ill come back and pay for them." "No Problem!" the manager tells me, as the cashier hands me a pen and receipt paper, just write down your name. So I did. I drive home 20 minutes, get the card I need, and send my wife and 6 month old boy back so I can work on this project, that needs to be completed by next week. My wife gets there, after a 20 minute commute, and guess what, they put my merchandise back! I am very disappointed, I wasn't even gone an hour, and they didn't keep my merchandise on hold. Summary: Expect mixed results on what you are told. Poorly trained cashiers. which means you have a manager or two who are too busy to see straight Shop at home depot or a different Lowes. read more

I had a new front and back door installed by lowes in October of 2021, so a little over a year ago. the handle on the screen door fell off the first day, i called lowes and they told me someone would be out to fix it, no one ever showed. a few weeks later our backdoor handle falls off. call again, told again someone will be out to fix, no one comes. few months pass and the front door doesn't latch anymore, the only one to close it is by locking the deadbolt while holding the door in place. the backdoor is impossible to lock and still has no handle because the one that broke is stuck in it. and now that were calling again trying to get someone sent to look at these doors that they ruined were being told its too late :) dont let them install your doors. if i could give 0 stars i would. read more

I have never gotten good service here. I can wander the store and never be asked by an employee if I need any help, and when I do ask, they act like I'm interrupting their routine. I asked where something was, and was pointed in a general direction, as he walked off. Yesterday, 2/20/14, My 80 year old father, who goes to this Lowes almost everyday for the past 10 years, had his military ID questioned by a cashier. My father served in the military and is due the discount he earned. He has never had a problem getting his military discount before, but was told by this particular cashier that she would "Let it slide this time". Are you kidding me? How can anyone be so disrespectful to a man who served his country? This is outrageous! I will never return to this, or any other Lowes. This is unacceptable behavior. Last time coming here..in ten years the only time i got service is when i got a key made.. Came here yesterday sat afternoon and it was pretty empty yet i stood at the customer service desk while the girl ignored me for at least five min ..she apparently thinks scotchtaping receipts to returned merchandise could not wait a few min..she finally said she would be with me in a minute..all i was needing was her to page someone to the plumbing dept. For the most part, the staff at this particular Lowe's has always been friendly and helpful. I was there recently and one of the associates (I wish I had gotten his name) helped us with some cabling we purchased such that we did not have to buy a $30 tool that we would only need to use once. He went above and beyond to help us and I am very appreciative. We have in the past encountered some grumpy store managers that aren't very nice, but the associates have never been rude or unhelpful. As far as the store itself, I always choose to go to Lowe's over Home Depot, which is right across the street because Lowe's always has a better selection and the store just seems nicer than Home Depot. Plus Lowe's price matches anything at Home Depot, so that's a bonus too. Lowe's also seems to have an adequate number of staff at any given time, so you aren't waiting too long in line or for some one to help you. read more

I came in to buy stuff to make a jewelry holder today. I talked to 4 different people.. the first guy I talked to was Morgan. He was SOOO helpful and nice, while the next lady and the older gentleman I spoke with were not very helpful and honestly sort of rude.. they made it seem like the last thing they wanted to do was help me. I asked the lady where I could find a small piece of wood and showed her a picture which shows a 1" piece of wood.. instead of saying "sure let me help you" she said, "how do you expect me to find something based on a picture" and points me to the 2x4 area (not even walking over to show me what she's talking about) which are WAYYY bigger than what I wanted. After looking around for another 5 minutes I finally found the 1" wood. I went back to Morgan who helped me cut the metal rod and told me that the wood cutting area would gladly cut the wood for me. So I went over there and NOBODY was there.. I spoke with another lady who called someone over the intercom and met me over there.. it was the older gentleman who came up to me and he looked at the wood and said "sorry we aren't supposed to cut wood that small" and my response was "well they've done it before with no problem at all" and he then said "just because they've done something in the past, doesn't make it right" .. ok first off, I'm in the customer service industry and let me just say.. the way I see it is what is wrong with cutting a piece of wood for me because clearly I don't have a saw at home... second the way these people handled talking to me really was crappy... they made it seem like the last thing they wanted to do was be at work or talking to me for that matter.. the last person I spoke with was the cashier who was super helpful and nice!! They take bad customer service and poor communication to levels only possible in comedies. I purchased a dishwasher from Lowe's and the purchase agreement read as though installation was included. They drop off the dishwasher and not only do they not haul away the old one, they tell me they cannot install the new one because I had not purchased the install. More TERRIBLE SERVICE... We visited the store yesterday to see about a total kitchen renovation, cabinet clerkette was busy and didn't even acknowledge that we were there. Another sales person came by several times and although he didn't work in that department, he offered to make us an appointment for the next day, today. We arrived 5 minutes ahead of time, the same cabinet clerkette was there, helping other customers, again not even acknowledging us until 25 minutes after our designated appointment, at which time she said, "It's going to be another 30 minutes, maybe you guys can go out to lunch or something".....REALLY????? What kind of $^&#^#& service is that? We went across the street, to BIG ORANGE, HOME DEPOT, and got immediate and courteous service. read more

Went to North Charleston Lowes on Friday afternoon. All was normal until checkout. Was greeted with a squeal from the associate when I arrived to the self checkout. Thought this was an over the top for my purchase but then I realized it was for the the Lowes associate eating spaghetti behind me. Lowes should pay better, she was really hungry for spaghetti, should have offered to buy some for her but my bad. As I turned to leave the cashier next to the self checkout had pulled up a chair at the register and was checking out their phone, makes my question the self checkout. As I exited the store there was spaghetti man and two other associates watching three old people and a Lowes associate trying to put something into a car. From their comments they were having a wonderful time watching this disaster of customer service. Lowes should have a policy on language and cursing, when it is appropriate and when not. I would think watching people trying to load a Lowes purchase is not a good to to be laughing and swearing at such activity. I went to help with the loading but they were able to get the item into the vehicle before I arrive. read more

...so there we were, thinking about home renovation. Kitchens , bathrooms, floors, the while thing. The nice thing about Lowes, and in particular this location, is that the staff genuinely seem to know their product and want to be knowledgeable. A few months ago I was in the garden section looking for purple coneflowers but they didn't have any. A very nice Lowes staffer said she wasnt sure what they were but that there was somebody else there who was the expert and before I could say never mind, she was off and moving. A few minutes later she showed up with the expert, who told me they were out, more would be arriving in about two weeks, and to be careful planting because coneflowers dont like too much water. She was right- all that July rain took them out. Anyway, I have had similar helpful times in plumbing, lumber, paint, you name it. Went to this Lowe's today to return a few items that ended up not working for a project. The girl working the return desk Veronica was extremely rude rolled her eyes several times. She was obviously very upset with us because we were interrupting her. I understand that customer service jobs suck as I have had many. Ordered a sliding glass door online to pick-up. 31 hrs later I still had to go pick it myself. Ordered 15 boxes of laminate flooring online to pick up. THREE DAYS LATER it still hadn't been brought up, when it finally showed up one of the boxes was wrong, and the "Head Front Desk Associate" couldn't figure out how to to return the one that was wrong, so now we have to take a special trip to go back and return the thing that the rocket scientist at the order pick up desk couldn't figure out how to refund. I should probably mention the last time we went deeper into the store a forklift was left in the middle of an aisle, and an extension cord ran across three aisles of the flooring department as a decidedly obvious trip hazard. If you value your time and your safety, and expect people to do their jobs correctly, spend the extra few minutes to drive over to the Dorchester Rd store. No problem with the Lowe's organization, but this particular store makes you want to rethink your decision to undertake a project to begin with. Came to this store to pick up item which I confirmed on website that this location had 10 in stock. I went directly to aisle where item should have been based on website map (aisle 22). Item wasn't there. Was told after approx 10 min of waiting that product was in aisle 9. Product wasn't there. Worker asked manager who (manager) was very rude and walked away. Asked worker where manager went and was told he was looking for item. Worker went to help another customer and manager disappeared. Went to Customer Service where another manager (Tammy) was helpful but was unable to locate item. She did give me a 10% discount on my other purchases but next time I will go across the street to Home Depot. Tammy did put forth an effort which was appreciated. read more

I shop here often. Today I had to return a water line cover. I realize the return department is not a joyful job but people do get paid to work there. The return lady asked if she could help me without even looking at me. She took the receipt out of my hand and took the item and through it on the counter behind her. It landed on the floor. The return person handed me a slip to sign gave me my 3.43. She said nothing. I said thank you she said nothing. I said a little louder thank you, she said have a nice day. Took Lowes 4 times before I received a refrigerator that wasn't damaged. Poor customer service.

I purchased a brand new fridge, dishwasher, oven, faucet and hood. All delivered at separate times and multiple installs. They put a hole in my wall taking out the old fridge, measured wrong for the hood and broke the faucet. I'm now waiting for replacements for the faucet, hood and now the dishwasher as the motor was blown and never worked. This is the worst experience I have ever had......I just want my kitchen!!! read more
