Items were easy to find. The lady in the garden department was friendly. The prices were extremely high for the plants.

3/34/26-Horrible experience-We bought gas stove top 11/21/25.When delivered, installer found a part - gas - regulator missing. Now 100's of phone calls-5 today no resolution. I am a man of many projects and love a good day of work. I need many materials to do this, and Lowe's used to be my spot to get them. However, after my last visit, It will definitely be my last. I bought a pallet of cinder blocks, and the weak ass fulfillment team didn't even have it ready. Keep in mind I ordered this over 24 hours in advance. In response to this I went to Buffalo Wild Wings and participated in the blazing challenge. I then returned to Lowe's and unleashed an absolutely ungodly bowl movement in their shitter. My husband & I purchased a Whirlpool side by side refrigerator in October, 2024. Both of us are 81 yrs old, so this move was much more difficult than in the past. We didn't realize that the gasket on the freezer side was damaged. When I called to report it, the sales person blew me off saying I had only 48 hrs after delivery to report any damage. I wasn't told that upon purchase! I asked to speak with the manager. He was absolutely rude. Blew me off too. I called Whirlpool, & they sent out a repairman who ordered the gasket. When another repair guy came out, he said we actually needed the freezer side door replaced! I just found out today that can take up to TEN MONTHS! So we paid for a new side by side but have a damaged one that no one gives a dang about. I'm so angry with this store for the way they treated us & for not standing behind their products. They'll say I called after the 48 hours. I absolutely did; but it's impossible to follow the rules when you're never told what they are. read more

It shouldn't even receive one star. We purchased a washer last year with an extended three year warranty for $655.46 and it has been nothing but problems (Whirlpool. We were told to use it until a repairman could get to it. Scheduled for July 17, company was a day late in coming out. Try not to use their repair shop of ChoiceOneAppliance. On July 18 the repairman arrived and said we could continue to use broken machine and he would return in 10 days with parts. August 7 we contact Lowes Customer account and were told the parts would be ordered on that day. Still nothing and machine is about dead. Elderly veterans should avoid Lowes and ChoiceOneAppliance repair. We would like a new machine and/or a full refund so we can buy from a reputable dealer. read more

This Lowe's has deteriorated drastically in the past couple of years. Today I closed both my personal and business credit accounts. There is usually a single check out lane open and the self checkout are also routinely closed. The staff at online pickup have proven time and time again to be rude and inattentive. I have spoken with management on at least 3 occasions about service and they are indifferent. My wife went to pick up a water heater for us and after not wanting to even load it, they refused to assist her in securing it for the drive home. Lowe's has always been my preferred bug box hardware store. But this last year I have stopped going there, completely. read more

This Lowes has a fantastic garden center. It is always stocked with a wide variety of plants. This is one of the best places in town to get your gardening/landscaping on. This has not always been the case, they must have hired a new manager for the gardening center...or something. Two thumbs up! The rest of the place is pretty standard Lowes type stuff. Individual store is great! With WONDERFUL employees But Lowe's has horrible third party contractors for installation. I can't speak to the rest of the store, but Spencer who does Trim N Go Levolor is nothing short of a saint. I've been up to the store at least 10 times in the last few days and he is always pleasant, efficient, and ready to help! Honestly, the majority of over employees I've interacted with were pretty lame. If y'all hired a bunch of Spencer's though, you'd be the best Lowe's in the nation. The costumer service here is awful. They said an order that we asked to be delivered upon purchasing, was placed as an in-store pick up. We asked because we did not have a vehicle that could transport the order. I figured no problem we can just schedule the delivery, this is when they told me that they had loaded it up to be sent back because no one came to pick it up. They did this without contacting us first. After several transferred calls with different people I was finally able to get a manager on the phone and was told we could have it delivered because it wasn't on the truck yet. Was told they would hold it and deliver it when we were ready. Well I called a week later to set up the date and was told they had a delivery date set 5 months from then and it could not be changed. This Lowe's has incredibly bad customer service. The place is severely understaffed, and the employees who are there have basically no knowledge of hardware, and need to be persuaded to to anything for you. Expect a hold time of at least 15 minutes whenever you try to ask any kind of question on the phone, assuming they take you off of hold at all. Overall, dealing with employees here is kind of like trying to motivate a lot of summer school students to do homework. I would suggest that Lowe's do things to incentivize employees, because they would be better off just selling everything online with their current model. I recently bought some stuff and realized I didn't need it. Unfortunately, I threw the receipt away. My cat recently peed outside the litter box and I soaked it up with some paper towels. I had the unique experience of being reacquainted with these stinky paper towels while digging through the trash looking for that receipt. After making sure my gag reflex was still intact, I gave up. This wasn't worth it. I'll just eat the cost of my purchase. Before giving up, I checked out Lowes return policy online. Luckily, Lowes has a great return policy. You do NOT need a receipt. "For in-store and Lowes.com purchases, no receipt is required to make a return if the credit card tendered on the original purchase is provided. If you made your purchase in store and paid with cash or check, no receipt is required if you provided a phone number at time of checkout." Awesome. I wish I knew that before subjecting myself to 3 day old cat pee paper towels. Reason #1029 for not getting a cat. =P read more

1 star for at least stocking items in the store that I can purchase without needing to ask for assistance or encountering any of their poorly trained and disrespectful staff. I have had multiple bad experiences at this Lowes location. Lowe's used to rank pretty high on the list of home improvement stores, but the staff at the Opelika, AL location have taken poor customer service, follow through and rudeness to an all new LOW(E). I've ordered items both online and in person. Never received them. One time they said it had been discontinued. Why I was able to order it online? The other time i took off work to wait for the scheduled deliver that never arrived. When I went into the store hours after it was supposed to have arrived, I was told it would not be in for another 3 weeks. This is an almost $1,000 appliance. When asked why I did not get a call or other notification that the delivery would not occur, I was told I could get a refund, which did not answer my question. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was put on hold for 30 minutes before the line was hung up. AWFUL. Please overhaul the service, add training and raise the bar for pride in the workplace. Their competitor home improvement store does the customer service game a lot better. read more

We ordered a washer and dryer on December 28th. Originally, it was set to arrive on Tuesday, the 12th. Then it got pushed back to the 13th. THEN it got pushed back to the 14th. THEN we were told the items weren't in stock (when we were originally told they were) and it got pushed back to March 4th and February 11th. The customer service is some of the worst I have ever experienced. It's like they were trying to be bad. I was passed from person to person over the phone and they tried to make me go to the shipping place in Montgomery. Many of the people on the phone were so arrogant. We were lied to and they just don't care. The ineptitude of this store is truly stunning. Clearly, we're not the first ones to have a bad experience with them. Enter at your own risk. Absolutely horrible customer service. My wife and I went in to get a board for a shelf. No big problem. We stood at the board cutting station for 20 minutes after pressing the call button and having to re-push it FOUR more times. Absolutely no one acknowledged us. They just walked around and DID NOT seem to be helping other customers. We walked out and went to Home Depot across the street. We got everything we needed and didn't have an issue. Half the people working here seem like they hate their job, worse part is you are more friendlier than the person checking you out. Delivery and customer service at this Lowe's is terrible. Never have anything delivered from this Lowe's! I recently moved to Auburn and needed a new washer and dryer which I ordered from this Lowe's. After calling twice days before to make sure it would be delivered after 12 PM the day I moved in, I get a call from the delivery guy wanting to come deliver it at 9 AM. So clearly no one put in there that I requested it to be delivered at a certain time despite calling twice. I told the delivery guy that I asked for it to be delivered after 12 PM and he finally agreed to come between 1 PM and 2 PM although this messed up his delivery schedule I guess. This time came and went and the delivery guy never showed up and never bothered to call. Wondering where he was at I called him again and he did not pick up so I left a voicemail to see where he was and when he was coming but he never called me back. After hearing nothing, I called Lowe's at 5 PM and they told me that the delivery guy told them that he came by the house and no one was home which was not true because there were 4 people at the house all day unloading furniture and boxes from outside. He also told them that he called me at 2:30 and left a voicemail which was also not true because he never called me. I had actually called him and he didn't bother to call me back. So it sounds like the delivery guy was just lazy and lied to management to get out of delivering the washer and dryer for whatever reason. When I tried to call Lowe's to explain what was going on it was difficult to speak to a manager as their phone line kept disconnecting. When I eventually spoke to a manager they didn't even care or offer any sort of apology for the inconvenience their delivery guy caused. They just seemed like they didn't want to be bothered. I asked the manager if he could see if the washer and dryer was still on the truck to see if it could still be delivered and he said he would and that he would call me back but never heard anything from him again... Finally after calling Lowe's again the next day I finally had the washer and dryer delivered by a much more professional and reliable delivery guy. But geez the experience I had with this Lowe's trying to get it delivered was a fiasco and I will definitely not be ordering anything else from here again. This is the worst Lowes I have EVER had to deal with. They are extremely rude and there delivery sucks. They will not deliver your item after they make you wait for weeks for them to deliver the item when they have had in store when you order it. It takes them 15 minutes to answer the phone when you call them to ask about your product. And then don't give you a specific time when they are supposed to deliver an item. If I could go lower than a 1* I would because that's what they deserve. I can't stand this Lowes and they have lost a customer for ever and I will also highly advise people to stay clear of these people. read more

Unbelievably poor customer service! I was reminded today why I stopped going to this store. Rude employees! They offer no assistance. Very few registers open, rude when I asked location of mailboxes. She simply turned around without saying a word and walked down the isle. I followed her (not sure why) and what I asked for was on the isle. She still never said a word. Was forced to run into door with my merchandise when entering garden center by an employee that did not wait for me to get through the door. (Still trying to find a register that was accessible) just a terrible experience. Spent $264.01. When checking out employee never said anything. I tried to talk to her but no go. I bought some wood plank tile on clearance. I paid for it and scheduled a pick up for the next day because I don't have the room on my truck for a pallet. I drive 30 minutes to pick it up and they can't find it. After roughly two hours they inform me that it was sold to another buyer after I purchased it. They said that they can't hold clearance items for a later pick up... although that wasn't the case when I purchased it the day before. They tried to get it shipped to my house from the store in Montgomery. But they also don't deliver clearance items. I got the refund. Way to waste a 1/3 of my Sunday Lowe's! read more

The stock and layout of Lowe's stores is pretty much standard across the United States. What sets any single store apart from the rest is the customer service and this store is absolutely the worst, that I have experienced, in that category. As a knowledgeable real estate investor, I spend a decent amount of time in home improvement stores all across the country. This store is very convenient when I am handling renovations in Auburn, albeit the level of sexist and condescending behavior of employees has left me baffled. When inquiring about specific dimensions of a toilet, a female clerk actually told me "it would be best" if I had my husband come into the store, and then she walked away. A male clerk took it upon himself to explain that "there's this thing now called LED..." Seriously?!?! What century are these people rooted in? Thank goodness that there is a Home Depot right across the street! read more

My Daughter 26 years of age has purchased her first home and has purchased hundreds of dollars worth of flooring trim caulk nails screws ceiling fans light fixtures and many more items such as tools. These are all items that we purchased and brought home ourselves with little to no customer service while shopping. Now she has purchased $1200.00 worth of washer and dryer which were in stock and purchased on a Tuesday for a Thursday delivery. They called the wrong number to tell her they would not be able to deliver the items. After she contacted them to discover where her stuff was they promise to deliver the next day. Again they have failed to deliver. Now they are stating it will be first thing Saturday morning. Attempts were made to talk to management only to be pushed off. Customer service is the worse here at this location. We will think twice before making more purchases from this location. By the way did I mention this home is a fixer upper. I ordered this refrigerator and was delighted that it was on sales. I patiently waited a week for it to arrive a the Opelika, AL store so I could pick it up. After I received notice it was at the store I had to wait an additional day due to work before I could got get it. I went to the store to pick it up and waited an hour and 15 minutes. The employees could not locate it in the store although it clearly showed in the computer it was there. 3 different people attempted to find it to no avail. I finally grow tired of waiting an cancelled the order. As I was walking away from the counter and out of the store, an employee was finally able to bring the refrigerator to the counter. So, I left the store without the refrigerator I needed and patiently waited for, for a week and then in the store for an hour. I wish I could write a review to say how the refrigerator works but I simple do not have the item because Lowe's failed miserably at customer service. So I guess I will have to find one elsewhere as Lowe's clearly does not want my business. read more

3 nice home improvement centers local. I need about 300'chicken wire and some T post. I went by Tractor Supply Co. They had T post 6.5' at $4.29, out of stock on wire. So i went to Lowes. Had the wire and T post in stock. Only problem price of T post $5.88. TSC T post made in USA by Franklin Steel, great quality and lowes states made in USA but $1.59 per item higher. Went to customer service and Wanda and Collin stated not exact and cannot match price. How stupid-same quality but not identical name. This really states that Lowes DOES NOT MATCH PRICE. read more

The Opelika Lowe's is the worst Lowe's I've ever been in. I shop at Lowe's all the time in several locations. The Lowe's in our home town are great in comparison. I went in for two fairly pricey items, a digital deadbolt lock and a smart thermostat. First I had to wait several minutes on the guy in hardware, who was telling a story to a friend, to ask a question about the lock. He could not really answer. Then He said the only person capable of rekeying a separate lock to match it was on break, but he did not know what type of break she was on or when she would be back. Since it was almost 8:00, I assumed it was a 15 min break. We then asked for help with a smart thermostat. We had to go to the service desk and ask for someone. When someone finally showed up, they said they had not been trained on those yet and could not tell me anything. We then went back to hardware, still no locks re keyed. We eventually asked for help from the store manager. He could not tell us if the person would be back to rekeying the lock. I left my number with the guy in hardware with the promise that he would call and let me know yes or no on the lock before they closed and went to shop at a nearby store. It's now the next day and no call. We left with nothing. I'll buy the stuff at a different store and do the repairs on a separate trip. read more

If you are in the market for appliances, RUN - DO NOT WALK - out of this store!!! I ordered a full suite of KitchenAid appliances on Nov 21, 2017, and was told they would arrive in 2-3 weeks. After several delayed delivery dates, numerous calls (including many times when the phone was not even answered and some calls during which we were promised a return followup call that never happened), and several visits to the store we were finally told on Jan 21, 2018, that the microwave oven we ordered was no longer available. (Never mind that it is still advertised on the website!). We were promised an upgrade of the microwave and installation of the appliances as compensation. All of the appliances except the microwave were installed several days after that discussion, and delivery of the microwave was scheduled for Mar 3, 2018. I called on that date and imagine my surprise to be told it wasn't there. Fortunately, the assistant manager, Sara, was on duty. She spoke with the store manager and the following week they admitted to me that another assistant store manager who we had been dealing with HAD FORGOTTEN TO ORDER the microwave in spite of our in-store discussion with him on Jan 21, 2018. The microwave was finally delivered and installed on Mar 16, 2018, almost 4 months after my order was placed. This experience has got to be one of the absolute worst purchasing experiences in which I have ever been involved. The only positives are that Sara did what she promised, and the delivery and installation personnel were very competent and professional. I will definitely be taking any further business to Lowe's competitor. read more
