Appliance delivery disaster, not following protocol, dishonest, inconvenient, providing incorrect information. My fist appliance order from Lowes caused me headache, aggravation and lost time. I ordered a stove for my rental property 2 months in advance. Delivery schedule for June 6 2026 7am-7pm. On Jun 6th called Lowe's 10:30am to provide closer window and explain that I do not live at the property. They assured I have nothing to worry about and their protocol is for the driver to call when they are about 30min away. Received a call from delivery person at 12:30pm saying they are outside. Luckly I was couple blocks away driving to the property so I explained I will be there in 10 min. They acknowledged and hanged up. Got to the apartment at 12:40pm 10 min later and they were not there!!! Called delivery guy multiple times and no answer. Called Lowe's delivery support who indicated delivery company marked my order as 'non delivered' and can't be back today. Called two additional extensions at Lowe's, called delivery company, waisted 2h on the phone to hear over and over that they can't do anything. At 5pm received a call from Lowe's to confirm stove delivery for tomorrow Sunday??? They rescheduled on my behalf for Sunday delivery unbelievable. While I explained to everyone on the call that I live in a different town and unavailable to come back on Sunday. This was the worst experience ever, unacceptable service, how they stay in business treating preferred customers like this? This was my first and last order from Lowes. read more

If you're using this Llowe's to save on sales tax, it's probably worth paying the full tax rate and saving yourself the aggravation. I ordered a replacement washing machine. I disagree with being charged immediately for my purchase prior to it being received. I chose the 8am - 11am time slot because I work during the week and have things to do on Saturday. I received a text saying that it would be delivered from 11am - 2pm. I canceled my Saturday plans so I can be home to receive my new washer. I ended up staying out late on Friday and set my alarm for 10:30. The delivery guy texted me and called me at 8am on Saturday morning disturbing me from my much needed sleep. I woke up and responded to the text, "see you from 11 - 2" to confirm that I will be there during my scheduled time slot. I woke up again around 9 to the sound of my dog barking and my phone ringing, I ignored it, buried my head in my pillow and went back to sleep. At 12 the driver showed up, I opened the side door for him. He went downstairs, came back & said that my connecter was broke so he couldn't install the washing machine. I asked for him just to leave the washing machine, he said he couldn't because it was also damaged and that I would have to get a plumber to fix my connector & reschedule the delivery. I can't confirm, but I think the driver was angry that I want available prior to my scheduled time slot and likely damaged my house connecter and probably the washing machine. The absolute worst company in the world. I paid for a washing machine, paid for the delivery, paid to have our old one hauled away, and I paid for installation. It was for my 75-year-old mother. Two lowlife criminals came to my mothers house, and seeing that she was old and slightly confused because I was on my way to work. They decided to tell her that they couldn't install it unless she gave them cash in the amount of $150 or if she made a check to cash in that amount . My mother, not knowing any better stupidly gave them a check. When she called and told me I am mediately had a star pay placed on the check I then proceeded to call Lowe's. Not once not twice not three times. No ladies and gentlemen, I have called eight times all they do is keep sending me to a different departments and I called the police to file a report. The police came to my house. They went downstairs to look at the washing machine and guess what?!! The machine was not properly installed, and my basement is now flooded. The people that work at Lowe's are absolutely useless. I posted on their Facebook page to warn people that they steal from older people. I WILL be pressing charges for the theft read more

This is a very disorganized store. I placed an order online and selected curbside pick up. I then received my email the order was ready. When I arrived. All the curbside parking spots had cars without people inside parked in them. I waited outside and called the store. I hit the extension for curbside pickup and got no answer. I repeated this about 5 times and no answer. I then tried the phone number on the sign in the assigned parking spots that said to call to let them know you are there waiting. Guess what... it's disconnected. So next I went inside to customer service and the line was of course very long, but I bypassed and just asked at the desk, "where is curbside pickup"? I was told " sir, we don't have that here". My interpretation was : I was being looked at like I was possibly insane. I asked why all the signage and the emails and phone numbers. Again I was told we don't have that here. The ladies at the desk were very nice at the counter and none of this was their fault but I asked them repeatedly about why all the signs and why would I place a curbside order if I had to come in side and wait longer than it would take me to shop. I got no reply or acknowledgement. I will also say they couldn't find my order after that for over a 40 minute wait. I'm still perplexed.... look at their signage ... The only thing I was slightly happy about is that I get a veterans discount. Big deal the whole point of curbside is lack of exposure. Crazy as these crazy times read more

Ordered a LG refrigerator -- they had a size that would fit our kitchen space. Web search was fine but the delivery was awful. We paid to have it delivered to the 8th floor and the old one removed. The delivery guys dropped it in the ground floor entry and said we could stick the old fridge in the dumpster --- rude and idiotic. The building desk guy apparently let them go. By the time we learned about it and got through the Lowe's phone queue the truck was miles away. Lowe's customer service rep was really unhelpful, said we should take it up with the delivery company. Hey, Lowe's hired them, we didn't. The building maintenance manager took the old refrigerator our and brought the new one up -- which was not his job. Lowe's Paterson should send someone over -- it's less than a mile -- and give him a $100 gift card. read more

So I went to Paramus NJ store which shared with me the inventory of the Paterson Lowe's fences that I was looking for since the Paramus store was out. Went to Paterson location and purchased the fence panels that I needed. They informed me that the deliveries were behind. So it would take about a week and half to receive which wasn't a problem. Day before delivery they called to tell me that they sold the fence I purchased and no other Lowe's has any. It's been over a month and still no fence. They did have a comparable fence but won't give to me due to new pricing which is more. Just kept pushing me off. No answers no help They basically stole my fence And trying to speak to anyone in store on phone good luck no one picks up or they keep transferring you till it just ends up hanging up. The counter persons were helpful. The individuals who assisted me were courteous. BUT.......... Their website said they had 9 bottles of Bona floor cleaner. I drive to the store. They had none. 'Oh, the website doesn't get updated.....' Website said they had 40 bottles of Kaboom cleaner. I drive to the store. Nope. Sales Person: 'We have 40 bottles.........somewhere.' Stay away!!!! BEWARE!!! We made the terrible mistake of hiring lowes for a window door replacement project including install. They will promise stand behind their products and services but they don't tell you how difficult would be to get that warranty to work. Also they will tell you that you would have a project manager assigned to you which is true but they are never EVER around to help. One of our outside special order doors came from the factory with a defect and it's been 3 weeks and we are yet to get the replacement order. I'm given the run around every time. It should be simple: Door comes defective, Lowes orders another one promptly. But no! They will not respond. Do not buy an appliance from Lowe's in Paterson if you expect to get your appliance the way you ordered it in the store. The delivery was contracted out to two people who could not speak English and who refused to fill the work order as we filled it out in the store. If you are in your car, looking up the address for the closest Lowes to you and this one comes up? TURN AROUND. No, seriously. It doesn't matter if it's more convenient to you. It doesn't matter if another store didn't have what you needed. This was not just the worst Lowe's -- it may actually be the worst store I've ever been to in terms of customer service. When I went in to purchase a clothes dryer, the person who sold it to me was actually very nice. Once I left the store, however, everything went downhill from there. I had the wrong dryer, and so it didn't come off the truck but had to be returned to the store. I was given the name of a person to call there, and so I did -- I will tell you, without any exaggeration, it took an average of 7 or 8 times calling for someone to actually pick up. Once the automated system picks up, it will ask you which department you want to speak with. I had to call the store at least 4 or 5 times about this, and no matter which department I selected, no one would pick up. If you hit 0, you will get kicked to a "customer service" representative. Of the various people I spoke with, each was more irritable than the next. "Why did they tell you to call customer service? Hold on..." Halfway through explaining why I was calling? Cut off with a "Hold on..." Then the insipid music and recording about how committed to customer service Lowes is. If you really need something, ask for a manager -- unlike other businesses that do their best to keep you from reaching a manager, the folks working there are only too happy to pass you along. I spoke with two different managers about getting a refund (they only partially processed my refund -- forgot to take off the protection purchase) -- on average, I was bounced around or on hold for anywhere from 20 - 30 minutes each time I called. "Impressive Hardware Store" Since Lowe's appeared in Paterson, New Jersey, we haven't experienced any problems in finding what we need. Most recently, we've upgraded our interior to shades with elegant curtains (from Bed, Bath and Beyond). Lowe's stocks the right room darkening Levolor pull shades that we need. Each time we've gone to the Paterson location, there's a sales person available to cut the Levolor shades at no charge. This is a fantastic service, and we couldn't be any more pleased. Surprisingly, the young staff in the home furnishings area needs no assistance from management to operate the cutting equipment for the shades - very impressive! I bought a full set of whirlpool kitchen appliances from them. The refrigerator was a lemon, constantly freezing and unfreezing stuff. I have lost thousands of dollars in ruined food. I have been complaining about the fridge basically from delivery. I purchased the extended warranty and it doesn't matter. This place is awful, don't buy anything from them. This review is specifically for Christopher Carrington, supervisor of the Pro Service Desk. I'm not a pro contractor and I was helping my father (who is a contractor) finish a job as he's in hospital w cancer. Chris was very knowledgeable and helpful each time I reached out. He was excellent with follow through on all communication regarding availability of parts and offered solutions to problems I encountered. The reason for the omission of one star was because some of the other staff at the pro service desk weren't as helpful or patient in my other attempts to reach out . I understand they are under a lot of pressure with a high demand of calls and customers, but I would add that Chris's approach to customer service would be a great model to follow. read more

I went to pick up appliances, took them an hour and a half to get my order (but I got a call from the store saying my order is ready). I totally understand why there ratings are so low! Worst lowes ever! My husband and I went to get a vanity. We were at the store for about 10 minutes before I asked for help. I asked a young lady and she said she was going to get someone then disappeared. Ten minutes later we went to another employee that shewed us away since he was with another customer. So now it's been over 35 minutes of us just looking for someone to help us. I went to the return desk that had about 5-7 employees and asked if there was anyone that could help us. I explained that we're in construction and will be purchasing a lot. One employee by the name of Brittany was filled with unnecessary attitude and I then spoke to the manager who didn't really seem to care to be bothered. Worst customer service and such a sense of entitlement. Will never go back! Try caring about your job. There is plenty of competition happy to serve us. Get it together Lowes of Paterson. read more

Does anyone work here? Because it was literally impossible to find someone in any of the departments we visited. It was Friday night, so maybe that's a slower time in the store? Anyway, my visit here was another reminder of why I shop and do my research for items online. As a customer, it's really frustrating when you're in a store that is already a maze, filled with thousands upon thousands of items of which most I have no idea what they are even used for. We were able to find two associates who were chatting among themselves, who both pointed us in the wrong direction. There was no "customer guidance" aka taking you to the item, or trying to show you what item may be best for your project. Instead, it was simply "It's in Aisle 9." While we did not purchase what we were ultimately searching for, we ended up buying one thing. The cashier was had your typical "I Hate This Job and Everyone Here" attitude, but at least there was a cashier open to ring us up. This was my first visit to this particular Lowe's location, and I was impressed by how immaculate the inside was. If this Lowe's was closer to my house, I would probably go here instead of their competitor, just for the mere reason that they have such a huge selection and many items seem to be focused on design. Now if only I could find the things that were on my list, or at least someone to guide me to them... then this location would be a home run. read more

I went to Lowes in Paramus NJ and purchased a stove , microwave and dishwasher and paid to have them all installed. In delivery the delivery driver told me he only hooks up the stove and I needed to wait for another installer for my dishwasher and microwave (something that was never explained to me in the store) - two days later another worker called me stating he is at my condo for installation of the microwave and dishwasher- he was not there and was obviously lost( not sure how with GPS)- I stayed on the phone with him for 30 minutes until he made his way to my place. On arrival he only installed the microwave and stated he needed to come back for the dishwasher. He came back a few days later and hooked up the dishwasher- not king after he left I went to use the dishwasher and it blew the fuse ?? I had a dishwasher in the same place prior to this with no issues.I have now been give 3 appointments which I have taken days off work for as a nurse to wait for the installed who now has issues with his vehicle???No call from Lowes , no apologies just a text with a new date !!!Dont purchase any appliances from Lowes - they do not care about their customers only want the sale ! read more

Horrible service at the paint desk on Sunday morning of Memorial weekend. I waited at the desk for 20 minutes and no one showed up. I called customer service and was hung up on twice. Then when the paint person named Rafael finally showed up, he proceeds to assist a Spanish speaking customer that who was someone that was behind me. NO STARS!!!!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE ! We bought a washer and dryer and the sales associate was great. No issues until there was a misunderstanding with the delivery. They never called the day before to confirm a delivery time. I called the morning of and I was hung up on multiple times, nobody could find the order. After an hour in a half the delivery person arrived without notice. The one guy was rude and annoyed that they had to change their route. I told him him to let me pick up the area rug but instead he kicked it to the side. I had a few small towels in the way that I told him to let me move but he pushed them into the sink. Very rude customer experience. Please do yourself a favor and go somewhere else when investing in big appliances. They obviously don't care. Bottom line is it wasn't what happened, it's how it was dealt with. read more

The store itself and the people who work there are nice, but I would hesitate before buying anything that needs to be delivered or installed here. We bought a washer and dryer here and both units were left in a non-working state and I had to re-install everything myself. While they did show up early, which was nice, the delivery and installation was rushed and the people that were sent did not seem to be properly trained to install the appliances. First there was some issues with our basement stairs, which I know are narrow, but the units were both left with major cosmetic damage from getting them into the house. The washing machine was left throwing an error code that the installer said meant that the item was defective or damaged while bringing it into the house and I should call the manufacturer because there was nothing they or the store could do. I figured out after they left that the code was happening because the packaging tape inside the unit wasn't removed, but it was a bit troublesome that the installers left what they thought was a defective appliance with a shrug and no real recourse to fix the problem. When we tried to use the dryer we discovered it wasn't getting hot because the gas line had never been opened after it was connected. I have to assume that since it was never turned on it was also never tested for leaks. Considering how dangerous that is, I called the store to ask for someone to come and properly do that. After explaining the situation I was put on hold and about 30 minutes later a completely different person picked up the phone, so I had to explain the situation again. That person was very nice and helpful and was going to try to get someone out to fix it that afternoon, but nobody ever showed and I ended up having to get leak detector fluid from Home Depot and do the job myself. As I was doing that I discovered that the hot and cold water lines to the washing machine were also installed backwards with the hot input connected the cold line and vice versa (which wasn't great for the wool items in the first load of laundry we did), so I had to reinstall that myself as well. There's also a water line for the dryer's steam function that was never installed, so I have to go and get parts and install that as well. The very nice woman I had spoken with who was trying to get someone out to help called the next morning to follow up and apologized that nobody had ever called or shown up, and offered to give some credit back on the order. Only it turned out she couldn't because she is at the Paramus store, somehow when I was put on hold the first time the Patterson store transferred me there. Essentially, aside from taking the out old units and bringing in the new ones, I've had to install everything myself, they believed they were leaving a non-working unit behind, and when I called for help the store I bought them in sent me somewhere else instead of dealing with it (glad I paid extra for that Lowes protection plan). If you need to purchase an appliance from Lowes and have it installed, I'd suggest doing it at the Paramus location where there are people willing to help make sure the job is done right and avoiding this Patterson location. While having beat-up, non-working and improperly installed units is bad enough, the carelessness with the gas line and the potential danger that posed is scary. read more

Lowes Paterson, NJ. Trying to get my order which I've placed 1.5 months ago (~$2K). Not possible to contact employee I worked with over the phone or email. They simply don't respond. Now after second physical visit to the store I learned that they either lost my order or didn't place that order in the first place or even incriminate that I've got the delivery of it (I didn't). Literally one of these three options, they not sure which. As I said it's impossible to contact them, so I sit and wait. Maybe a day, maybe never they will call (if they feel like calling). The managers don't care. I said that I filed a complaint, they don't seem to be impressed. Obviously the whole customer service is rotten. The most reasonable recommendation is to stay away from Lowes, but what could a person do if they had already placed an order? I can only sympathize them. It took me 55 min. to buy a under the cabinet micro wave. Sales lady did not know what she was doing. She wanted me to pay 179.00 for a 149.00 install. I had to tell her I did not want to take the micro wave away. I saved 30.00. Than she said she had to print out the paperwork up by the service counter, I waited another 10 min. I got tired of waiting asked another team member and she told me the paperwork was getting printed. I said I want to cancel my order. They said go to service counter, I did. They told me go to any cashier and give them my phone number. I did and I got a simple cash register receipt. How do you like that, that was the papers I was and would have still been waiting for.
