It pains me to write this review, as we've done 2 kitchens and a laundry room with Reno. It seems the top notch quality had had become accustomed to has gone to the wayside. We had a problem with a kitchenaid freezer that turns out to have been a known issue. Fine. Now we've been through 3 ovens. The first was run by the installers for an hour and looked like someone had cooked a pizza inside. It has stains all over it. Second one came completely dented on both sides. Third one was accepted and seemingly ok until a few days later we realized the bottom drawer has a huge dent in it. I've attached a photo. At this point I can't imagine Reno wants to engage any further with us as they've replaced it twice. This just marks a decline in expected quality. We go to Reno for the great service and products, but if we can no longer receive that, we'll go to the big box retailers. Update 9-10-21 Reno contacted me and made it right. Rather than replacing the entire unit again, the dented drawer was removed and replaced. We love Reno's and I want to make it 5 stars but the communication is still lacking. We were supposed to receive a call confirming when the delivery would occur; we were not home but fortunately the babysitter was there to receive the delivery. We will probably still continue to shop there for our future appliance needs. Update 03.02.2026 Unfortunately, past experiences were not one-offs, but rather early signs of decline. As I've stated, I renovated 2 kitchens with Reno plus 2 washer dryers. The microwave I bought there just a few years ago died. I called up and said give me a replacement, here is my credit card. This was in August. Easiest sale in history. Well, Reno proceeded to drag this out into December until they finally just ignored me. The first microwave had a broken fan. The installer said something wasn't right. I called, got another. Same problem. A third didn't even make it into the wall - a floor test revealed it was a manufacturer's issue. Weeks go by and I have to constantly email or call. The next solution was to give me a smaller microwave from another brand. The owner of the company sent one of those cards in the mail "welcoming" me to the Reno family. I emailed him as well - no response. My final note to them was congratulations, you got my money. You will never get another dime. Frankly, go to Lowe's or Home Depot if you want this level of service. There are other boutique appliance shops out there that would be glad to have my money. read more

We deeply regret using Reno's Appliance. We paid over $30,000 for a high-end appliance package and then paid an extra $850 for a complete startup package that was clearly not performed properly. Tape was left stuck on the refrigerator and freezer shelving, and I have spent hours removing it myself. We also discovered the bottom drawer was broken, which was either ignored or never inspected in the first place. The lack of care and attention to detail is shocking. The dishwasher was installed without anyone verifying it functioned. It never worked, it could not be fixed, and it took three months of constant follow-ups and arguments to get a replacement. No accountability, no urgency, and no respect for the customer's time. For premium pricing, the service should be premium. This was the opposite. They have a huge showroom and knowledgeable, professional salespeople. We had a fantastic experience buying from Reno's Appliances. I was tasked with updating our staff room kitchen, which dated back to 1967. Once we had the plumbing and electric done and the cabinets were installed, it was time to order appliances. We worked with Rob Ronda and picked out a new electric stove, a microwave and a refrigerator. Reno's beat the other two quotes I received, and the appliances were delivered a week later. We've heard so many stories about delays but everything arrived right away. One team delivered the appliances. The refrigerator didn't fit in the elevator so they had to bring it up two flights of stairs. They did so without complaint. Another team arrived in the afternoon to install everything and make sure that the appliances were all working. Everyone we dealt with was pleasant and helpful. Everything has been absolutely perfect in my new home with one glaring exception. The builder skimped on absolutely nothing with the exception of my wine refrigerator which broke literally one day after the warranty expired. Not sure whether it's the pandemic or what but finding an under the counter wine refrigerator has been virtually impossible. I made the usual appliance store rounds, PC Richard, Home Depot, Lowes but no one had anything in stock. I just about given up hope of finding one and figured I would have to wait a couple of months when I decided to call Reno in Paterson. All the sales people were busy so I left a message and shortly there after I received a phone call from Robert. He told me that he would be reaching out the following day with a few choices. I figured he wouldn't be able to help me but what the hell. The next day he got back to me and said that he had a unit available. When I asked about the quality he was good enough to send me a link on Amazon where, incidentally it was over $100 more expensive. A day later I made a commitment and ordered the unit without needing to step into the store. Less than a week later it arrived. Delivery was prompt and extremely professional. I'm not saying the other salespeople are inferior to him since we've never used them. We actually left when he wasn't there and returned when he was. I had a dishwasher delivered it wasn't the one I wanted. the showroom thought if I downloade the app what I wanted would be there it wasn't. Nohel and Jose were the servicemen they sent and we're wonderful. Nohel stayed with me trying to help me with the app so patient but still not what I wanted. spoke to George in the showroom. he told me the one I wanted said they could deliver in a few days. My dryer broke and I hated my washing machine so why not buy the matching set. Reno's helped me navigate my first official purchase of a washer and dryer. I've been fortunate that every house I lived in had a brand new set. They discussed the pros and cons while listening to my needs. We settled on the most basic model as I didn't want bells and whistles. New washer was delivered almost right away. They were tidy, organized and efficient. Helped answer basic questions about the hook up for future reference. I still don't have the dryer 3 months later as it was back ordered along with everything else. There hasn't been a lot of communication but when there is they are prompt with answers. This is my biggest beef. Lack of communication. That aside they are competitive and will work with you to ensure you will be happy with the product. read more

After visiting Home Depot, Lowe's and a number of other appliance stores we ended up at Reno's Appliance in Paterson. The difference in service quality, product knowledge and professional installation is tremendous. The employees are professional appliance salespeople, rather than just people who happen to work in the appliance department of a megastore, and it really makes a difference. Especially, when you have a million questions about everything from the features to models, brands, capacities, durability and even installation issues that are unique to your house. They're all friendly and eager to help regardless of what your budget is. They treated our purchase of a single refrigerator no differently than what we witnessed with customers who were looking for a whole kitchen. We were also surprised and thrilled to find their prices were cheaper than both Home Depot and PC Richards. To be fair, the price on the GE refrigerator we purchased was cheaper than their competitors. I don't know if all the prices are cheaper. Another nice perk of shopping at their store in Paterson is that it's located in an Urban Enterprise Zone, so the sales tax is 50% less than if you made your purchase anywhere else in the state. Finally, their installers are all Reno's employees, not contractors, and they really know their stuff. They were on time, very careful with the appliance and our house, and were just a complete pleasure to deal with. I can't recommend Reno's Appliance highly enough. read more

We ordered all our kitchen appliances, washer and dryer from Renos in October of 2021, for a house we were building and moving into in September of 2022. We asked if the subzero delivery was problematic. We were advised there was no problem whatsoever with the model we chose, and it would be in by June of 2022. We were honest and requested they store it for us until September 2022. All our appliances arrived on time except the subzero. Then the calls began, delayed until October, delayed until November now it's delayed until December!! When I spoke with the salesperson a few weeks ago, he didn't realize we had moved in as scheduled and stated that we'd definitely get the next one that came into the store. We were proactive in our ordering because we're aware of delays, etc. Some furniture we ordered in April won't be in until December, and that's okay. We made the decision to wait. To say that I was disappointed is an understatement. Came in with my wife a few months ago looking for new kitchen appliances... Spent well over an hour with one of the salesmen who was very knowledgeable and thorough. Paid them $75 to have two of their guys come out and take measurements so that we knew what would and wouldn't fit... Basically chased the salesman down to get any response and never were quoted prices. Clearly they must be making so much money they don't need our business I am a business owner myself and I am shocked that a company that is been in business this long and is well known as they are could treat a perspective client this way... Did I mention they charged me $75 to have people come out to take measurements but yet I couldn't get prices for the stuff to fit in those spaces? read more

I had just come back from a very frustrating shopping experience at Ferguson's (Karl's Appliane) in Fairfield where the receptionist wouldn't even look at us when we came to the front desk to get some assistance and prices on items were non-existent. I tried very hard to use Reno as the place where I got my kitchen appliances as I was looking for a smaller business to work with, but got the run around and had some shady shit happen. Very unprofessional. I started the process in July - called up Reno's Appliance and talked to a guy named Ray. Ray seemed helpful at first, but after he sent me a quote for my order (It was in stock, and would be a couple weeks to pick up. No more than 3-4 he says) he stopped responding to emails and was impossible to get a hold of. After a couple weeks I called back and asked for an update. He gave me some bullshit line about how it had been delivered to the warehouse, but it was damaged and needed to be sent back. I asked him why he didnt send any updates and he said he was just really busy, apologized and said he'd keep me updated on when the warehouse would have it. I say sure mistakes happen, and move to email. I ask him about ship times and when they are getting it from the manufacturer. He didn't respond to any of my emails. I sent one once a week for 3 weeks. So once again I think something strange is happening and I call up. This is well into August now. A receptionist answers and says "Rays on the floor with a customer and will have to call me back". Finally Ray calls and says that there's an update on one piece of the order, but not on the other. I ask if he can get me any kind of information or clarity on what's going on. He says yes and says he'll call me back. A week goes by and I don't hear from him. I call him up to ask what's going on, and why he hasn't gotten back to me when he had said it would take a day. A receptionist says he's "on the floor and will have to call me back". When he finally does he gives me the same bullshit with a "oh you know how it is". At this point it's September and a rangetop that was supposed to take 2-4 weeks to deliver - may or may not have actually been ordered. He tells me he'll call his supplier and get back to me tomorrow. Another week passes and I'm pissed now . So I call back again and ask him why hasn't he responded to my calls or questions. I legit just wanted a timeline - whatever it would have been. A receptionist answers and says "Rays on the floor blah blah". At this point I think it's just an excuse to check in on my order because he forgot it. He doesn't call back. I call again in a couple days, but actually get him first this time. He says that he had the info but was "busy" so didn't call me. This could have been a 3 sentence email. The update -the piece I wanted was now back ordered and he didn't know when he would be able to get it. I ask him if he can call his supplier he's been talking to to get a timeline. I make it very clear that I just need clear communication and an accurate timeline. He says sure and that he'd call me in the morning. Unsurprisingly he doesn't call me back. After a couple days I call him and get the same bullshit about him being on the floor and he calls me back frantically after an hour. I'm assuming once again that he had been scrambling to get a hold of the supplier during that time. The update -"There was no expected delivery date so I don't think it'll come in until next year even". Now I'm real pissed. I had given these guys a deposit and was trying very hard to give them my business, but I could have received everything and had it installed at this point if I had just gone with Appliance Connection or AJ Madison. Hell I could have bought one piece from fucking Best Buy. In one last attempt to not have to cancel my order- I ask if he's got anything that can ship now, or in the next two weeks in the color I want. At this point I just need to put a rangetop in. He says he'll call me first thing in the morning when his warehouse guys get in. Guess what. No call. I call back and get a receptionist again "Let me check. He's on the floor with a customer. He'll call you right back". After 2 hours I get a call and he's trying to sell me some cheap z-line bullshit. I cancel my order and ask for a refund. At least that was quick. read more

Went to a big box store first. After chasing someone down to buy a washer, had to wait a week for delivery. Took the day off & delivery men refused to hook it up because I needed a hose extension. Told me to go back to the store and buy new hoses, then wait another week for delivery. Went and cancelled my order instead. Why I wasted my time with those clowns when Renos is right down the street is beyond me! Renos was a pleasure from purchase to delivery (2 days after purchase). We walked into Reno appliance and in about 10 mins., we were able to order a new refrigerator and set up a delivery date in 2 days. This is a great local retailer. A few weeks ago I panicked when my refrigerator stopped working properly and ordered one from a big box chain. That was a mistake. I was in such a rush I temporarily forgot about Reno's. The experience with the chain was bad enough that I cancelled the order and went back to Reno's. Tom, my salesperson, knew all about the model I wanted, gave me a better price, and had it scheduled all in a few minutes. The delivery and installation was fast and flawless. Bottom line, if you are buying a major appliance that requires product knowledge and installation, this is the place; AND you get to feel good about buying from a great local retailer. Very disappointing. I'd heard very good reviews from my neighbors, good deals, lower tax (Passaic). I needed a stackable w/d. I felt the salesperson gave me a good price break. When their installers came, well they charged me $140 for parts, salesperson never mentioned this. Well there went the price break. I guess we didn't look wealthy enough to be a potential customer because no one offered to help us or even look our way. He was prompt with our appointment time, he was very knowledgeable in every product he had on his showroom floor, which made shopping so much easier and pleasant. He even knew the inventory that he didn't have sampled on the showroom floor. Not only was he very nice and not pushy, but he was funny too. It made working with him even more fun. He also made us feel extremely comfortable working with him during this time with the Covid virus. We got everything we needed, in an efficient amount of time because of how well-rounded he was. Stay away !!! You can save money other places, the customer service here is a joke. I bought a full set of samsung appliances from Reno's. When I got the bill, we where 1500 under budget so we decided to upgrade our less then a year old washer and dryer to a stackable one to create more space only to find out. They left the double oven off the invoice. So we where actually 1k over budget. But now with the new washer and dryer we where 3k over. Reno's discounted the oven and we moved on. The real problems started a year later when the dIshwasher broke 3 days before Christmas. Since your warranty goes to from date of purchase not install we where out of luck with samsung. But don't worry we bought the extended warranty from Reno's. Which is a complete joke. I was jerked around by everyone at Reno's and 25 days later their service tech is finally fixing my dishwasher. But he cut some zip ties around the water lines and now my lazy Susan is broken. He also cracked a tile badly from dropping the dishwasher. This is a nightmare. I bought a refrigerator, range, microwave, and dishwasher all from Reno's after renovating my apartment in the upper east. I did a good amount of work trying to get the best deals in the city and was actually going to go with another vendor with terrible reviews that came in with really low prices. I decided to call to check their prices before I signed on the dotted line and Ari came back with the best he could do. It was JUST SLIGHTLY more expensive than this bottom rung vendor I was going to pick, but in exchange I was treated with fantastic service. I had a problem with my dishwasher that I tried to sort through a 3rd party service company. After that didn't go to plan Reno's honored our agreement and fully replaced the unit. I couldn't be happier that they followed through on their promises to me, even if it took a bit longer than I thought. Customer service is what won me over, although prices are strong too. read more
