Lowes Poughkeepsie adjacent to the Galleria Mall is what you'd expect from a big box store. A slight step up from Home Depot the interior is clean & fairly organized but your typical home improvement essentials. A little on the pricey side, and as per most big box stores it's an adventure trying to find a salesperson to help, but it serves its purpose. read more

Seems like a bait & nothing scam, never had item but had it on sale for super price, ordered it but never received item, called Poughkeepsie Lowes & they said they had to reorder, then was told it came in, then as i'm on my way to pick it up they call & tell me they had to give it to someone else, then the next person said I was lying, they kept me on phone for 43 min everyone passin the buck to 5 different so called managers. Caught in several lies by their own so called managers or they are unqualified or lazy & when I pointed out their lies they hung up on me twice, poor attitude on 2 of them 1 of them very nasty trying to play defense as if I'm wrong! Nice way to treat a Senior trying to buy a gift for his son. Even still trying to charge me for it. Very surprised this store is in business. Waited over an hour to get help in the caulk:grout/paint section. After 36 minutes of trying to find an actual employee -- only person actually on the job was a Jehovah's Witness soliciting for his church. Finally grabbed a passing customer service rep who called in someone named Kevin who supposedly could help. 20 more minutes he didn't show. Went looking for him; was told it would be a while before he would assist me. This was the 70 minute mark. Girl at checkout counter tried once more to summon help; of course no one came. Her response to me for shipping at her store was "you get what you pay for." Middle of a Saturday afternoon; not a single knowledgeable employee in the whole store. read more

Been coming here for many years for our needs, and never been an issue for us. Many of the items for each department carry a big variety, which is great to see. With a huge space and also with enough workers, they do a wonderful job keeping the sales floor clean along with shelves being recovered and neat. Customer service is okay for the most part, but having more workers on the floor asking for assistance would be great. For the most part, we have been satisfied with each visit. read more

The only issue I've had at this Lowe's out of the all the years of being a customer is the woman at the self check out. Today I went to purchase 6 gutter guards in which I needed an employee to get for me because they were stored out of reach, the employee counted 6 but somehow handed me seven, honest mistake imo because they're thin items. The woman at the self check out counted 7 after I told her 6, no big deal. I only need 5, the 6th was just in case I'm break one, the problem I have is why is the woman at the self checkout discussing I had 7 instead of 6 with another customer? It implies that I was attempting to steal from Lowe's, it also implies that there may be some employees who talk Ill of customers when they leave, in this case it happened less than 5 feet away from me while she was assisting at the next kiosk. I think it'll be in Lowe's best interest to handle situation like this with a bit more professionalism. Ordered a refrigerator came damaged, did not have another refrigerator so I asked them to leave the dented one until a new came. Driver said no he had to bring it back. They redelivered after me calling and begging for them to let me use it in the mean time. They brought it back the next day. The original refrigerator also did not fit properly. Upgraded to a better and correct size . Asked the manager due to the inconvenience could they please throw in a 3 year warranty, didn't even think about it and his answer was NO!!!! After me taking a day off, several trips to lowes and phone callls I feel that's the least they could have done. I will never buy another appliance from them again!!!!! read more

Purchased an entire kitchen appliance suite from Lowes in Poughkeepsie. I was told one price one day, came back the next day to be told that they were unwilling to honor the price given to me. I wound up spending a few hundred dollars more than we had agreed to, only to find out months after the fact that the service plan WASN'T INCLUDED IN THE EXTRA WE PAID. I now have a high end appliance that does not work, the manufacturer can not get parts (which is not their fault), and Lowes is REFUSING to exchange the oven for one that works even AFTER I OFFERED TO PAY THE DIFFERENCE. I am highly disappointed by the way that Lowes treated me, and will ultimately wind up having to purchase a different oven from a competitor. read more

I've had mixed success at this particular Lowe's. I've had good luck in their garden center (for materials and supplies but not plants) and their lights, lighting, light bulbs (I like that they have an assortment of Sylvania bulbs besides GE). I've also bought power tools and major appliances here. The back half of this store is a huge and well laid-out display of renovation projects. However, it has often felt to me that the store was understaffed either by number or quality of experience of employees. Many times I've gone there and there would be a single person operating 1 register. That was not the case today, so maybe they've corrected that problem. I've had better luck with specific home improvement projects at other Lowe's, particularly the one in New Paltz. This store has the largest number of small, chirpy, birds flying around the inside of any big-box home improvement store I have ever visited. read more

Wow Zack is an incredible store manager who over delivers on customer service. I messed up and ordered the wrong dryer and it was a massive pain for me to try to sort through all the issues on my own then of course took to long and missed the return window. I decided to just try to call the store and speak to someone about my situation and Zack flxed everything and made my life so much easier without any friction. I ordered a hand held shower spray with an 8 foot hose. Item 727921, Model 94130. When I picked it up I realized the hose was 6 ft, not the advertised 8 ft. I tried to return the item only to be told that I would have to wait an hour for the computer to acknowledge my purchase before I could return it. Issue one, false advertising. Issue two, I have to go back to Lowes to return item since I did not want to wait an hour. The only positive experience I had was that the associate at the pick up counter was very helpful and tried to correct the situation, otherwise I would have only given one star. I went to Lowes yesterday to shop for an electric cable and Megan Henderson, the Plumbing & Electrical Supervisor at the Lowes in Poughkeepsie was one of the loveliest employees I've ever encountered. She was smart, helpful and knowledgeable in what I was looking for. We Asked an Employee to assist us getting insulation down from a shelf. He said I will get someone to help. I heard him ask another employee about it. The other employee yelled I can't do it, and walked outside. The first employee never came back to help us. I went over to the check out area and asked another employee if we could get help with the insulation, since we had asked someone else for help, but he wasn't able to help us, and she pointed at the employee standing next to her and said...this is the guy that can operate the machine to get the insulation down. He'll help you. I wasn't expecting the Flash to help us, but you would think that after this guy heard me tell the other employee that I already asked someone else for help to no avail, he'd seem a bit more responsive to our needs and have some sense of urgency. This guy walked so slowly towards the machine it almost appeared as if he had concrete blocks on his feet weighing him down. He stopped several times to chat with other employees as he made his way to the opposite side of the store to get the machine. At this point, I asked to speak to the store manager, or whoever was in charge. I waited for 10 minutes as another employee tried to page the manager. He or she never answered the page. I see many on here complain about the customer service. Honestly, every time I've been here and need someone I'll just click a button in the aisle that alerts reps of my location and they show up within minutes. During a recent "black Friday" weekend sale, my wife and I came to purchase window blinds. The rep came within minutes and helped us through the process (she definitely exhibited patience with us as we sifted through the catalog). She was knowledgeable and thorough. Much appreciated To anyone who won't go here because of customer service, just be a bit patient. While I personally don't have a favorite between Lowe's and Home Depot, it's good to know that both locations locally deliver what you need. read more

Aug. 6, 7 and 8th 2021 Called Lowe's  Appliance department Thursday night  do you have this item in your store  Which was a $2500 refrigerator I needed by Friday  Sales person says no we do not I said OK then I'm gonna buy it from someone else  I was having a party on Friday  So I needed my refrigerator mine kicked the bucket sales person says let me check and make sure there's nothing in the back ok great. We have it ...can it be delivered by Friday yes just come into the store and get everything all together not a problem Friday comes during my party that I'm having at my home they're gonna deliver it in the morning I waited they came the bottom of the refrigerator was destroyed!!   Went to the store on Friday after my party  talk talked with Phil and Chris  They said pick out another frigerator even if it's gonna cost a little bit more we'll take care of you OK great we went we looked at refrigerators picked out another frigerator they're gonna have it delivered the next day which is Saturday. It comes Saturday very late after 6 o'clock at night not during my window time they bring it in the house it's not the right frigerator they take it out of my home bring my old one back in they leave. I go back to Lowe's Saturday night met with this manager Kenny and then he calls this girl Sophie which I'm assuming was a manager she was horrible she didn't even make eye contact with me came up to the desk didn't even acknowledge my existence so I don't know if she's a manager but she's terrible absolutely terrible she should be fired!! Kenny  standing there for over a 1/2 hour 4 people looks like they're trying to take care of me trying to assist end result.... Kenny  Finally says to me I have  emailed everyone everybody that would be involved to make sure everything goes smoothly  and dont worry we will  Take care of you and compensate you for your time  and our wrong doings  We want to keep you as a customer So somebody will get in touch with you from corporate.you will have your frigerator tomorrow.  Meanwhile my entire weekend has been ruined by Lowe's.... update got no phone call  no time window for Sunday I called delivery Co. @ 3 o'clock sorry we do not have your refrigerator on the truck.  Now I am furious about to cry cry I've never been so frustrated. I will never shop at the Poughkeepsie Lowes ever again. I purchased two quite expensive holly bushes in October 2020. Over the winter both bushes died. I tried to return the bushes to customer service last Saturday. I had the dead bushes, original container, tags and SKU. I explained that the receipt was worn and unable to be read. I showed the manager in customer service the credit card I used, she ran it and said with out the receipt I cannot help you. I wanted a credit for the cost of the two dead bushes. After waiting at home the entire day I called and was told that it will not be delivered and that I would have to wait an additional two days for delivery. I've been a very happy camper with the customer service at this location until the other day when I tried to get them to match a price of an item advertised from a local competitor (Tractor Supply, which is about 15 mins away). I spent the good part of 20 mins debating with the girl at the counter, showed her the sale price I printed (the same day) off competitor's website, had her sign into the competitor's website herself to view the item/price. All no good. Appeared she was doing everything possibly to weasel out of this "policy" they supposedly have. I really couldn't believe I was basically being told in so many words, 'go buy it there.' Anyway, at this point I asked for a manager and the girl at the counter spoke with him/her on phone. Eventually they let me have it for the lower price but not without commenting on the favor they were doing me as this sort of thing wasn't normally done. Wonderful... Oh, and as for the additional 10% Lowes says they'll give you on top of matching a competitors price*? Keep dreaming! On 10/13/21, my wife and I stopped by and spoke with the Sales Specialist in Millwork Windows and Doors dept. to buy a ThermaTru double door to replace our existing entrance door which is approx. 60" wide double door with an arch transom. He did preliminary cost estimate for the door with the transon and scheduled Lowe's only one ( why only one?) installation contractor to stop by, measure the door and the transonm. On 11/9/21, Lowe's contractor owner stopped by, raised concern about the way current transom end was not fully bearing on the door frame. He said for the new door to work correctly he would shorten the door width. I was OK with that. Then he had concern with the wood piece behind door frame on one side. I said "do whatever you need to do, please make it work. There is nothing structural alterations necessary. All non-structural, architectural work involved. He never told me that he will not install the new door. That is exactly what he did - informing Sales Specialist on 11/10/21 he is unwilling to install the door due to his concerns. On 11/12/21, I stopped by with my wife to discuss with the Sales Specialist the nonsense reasons given by the contractor. I tried my best. Got no success with the Specialist. He did not challenge the contractor. He only listened to my commentary. I guess the contractor has good many simplistic work with doors and windows to reject our project. Don't waste your time and money dealing with Lowe's Specialist for important projects like entrance doors. Our experience with Lowe's has been extremely poor quality. read more

Wow. Just amazing. Went to look at carpeting, waited 20 minutes to get help, finally a young woman helps us out. At first her attitude was a bit sour but it did improve. We arranged an estimate and they came when promised within 2 days. Received a call with the estimate and decided to move forward. Came in to sign contract and once again no one to be found. Finally a young woman came by to help and she was great. When they printed the contract, it did not have the padding for carpet on it, so I asked to have a new one printed. Instead they said they would sell me padding separate and link it, which knowing Lowe's, I said no way. Well, it was linked anyways. So I refused to sign until it was correct. Two stars, only because they had a good selection of what I was looking for in lighting. Otherwise one star, or less, for service. I looked in vain for a salesperson to give me some assistance in the lighting department. Finally a guy strolled into the department and I asked if he worked there (meaning the department). He barely mumbled "yes," never bothered to even make eye contact. He walked to the phone at the service desk, made a phone call while he looked at his cell phone, then took off his vest, and walked out of the department and towards the back of the store, into the shadows! Again never making eye contact while I STOOD RIGHT THERE. So, "Dude with the shaved head? If it was the end of your shift I get it, at least find someone else to help." There was another couple there, they walked out, just like I did. I went to Home Depot, was greeted at the door and by the time I made it to their lighting department 2 additional people asked if they could help. When I was looking for something & asked yet another salesperson, they actually walked me to the item! So I not only bought what I came for, but other items as well. read more

This is a review not only for Lowes, but for LG as well. Lowes doesn't tell you that there is no one in their network, in our area, that services LG stoves/ovens so you might be waiting a pretty long time to have it serviced. OK, I bought an LG Smooth Surface Freestanding 5-Element 6.3-cu ft Self-Cleaning Convection Electric Range (and 5 year extended warranty) from Lowes in November 2016 (it was delivered in December 2016). After a few months of use (mainly using it for cakes and cookies), I decided to use the self-clean feature on the oven. It cleaned for 4 hours (My GE used to clean for only 3 and the only thing that was left was ash). When it had cooled down, I opened the door to wipe away any ash that was left. It wasn't ash at all. It was a gummy substance (dark brown goo) that when wiped off actually stained the oven. Not only that, but the same substance, somehow, got in between the two panes of glass on the oven door and it also dripped into the storage drawer below. Too me, this indicates something may be wrong with the door or the seal or both, which could cause a FIRE in my house. (I have absolutely no answer for the dark brown goo instead of the ash that should be there and neither did LG Customer Service, but then again, they had no answers to any of my questions.) OK, I phoned Lowes at first about the problem. They told me that there was no one in my area to repair the oven so they had to call LG to get authorization to go outside of the network. LG told them that the problem I had with the oven was not under warranty, because it had to do with the self-cleaning feature of the oven....WHAT? Lowes threw up their hands and said, "can't help you....call LG". I did so. LG CUSTOMER IS ABSOLUTELY USELESS! I tried explaining to the woman what had happened and she kept answering questions that I didn't ask (as if they had a list of generic questions/answers in front of them and that's what they were told to do). At one point the woman said to me, "If you have a minimum amount of soiling in the oven, you can set the self-clean feature for 3 hours, but if you have a moderate amount of soiling in the oven, you can set it for 4 hours. WHAT? It ended with, "email pictures to us". Sure, I'll send you pictures. $900.00 down the drain. read more
