I am a fan of Lowe's Home Improvement overall. If they have what you are looking for you are probably going to get one of the better prices you will find on whatever it is you are looking for for whatever home projects you are working on. With the selection they have on the products they carry they probably have exactly what you need. Service is where these big box home improvement stores often kind of fall short. For example, take today when I went to get several bags of Organic Compost. Another store I go to would not have let me load my own bags, but here, I had to load it myself. My point is, you pay a little more at other places but you usually get a little more at other places too. read more

I had been looking for some perennial's at a couple of nearby nurseries and didn't find anything I wanted to purchase so I headed to Lowe's. They had a great selection and supply and the prices seemed fair. I even saw some plants I hadn't seen before. There were 2 different sizes of the pink jasmine vine - basically $15 or $30. It was so fragrant! I bought the smaller size knowing that it would grow to the larger size in no time. I went with all perennials that can take full sun, so I hope they can handle the heat of the Texas summers. I also bought a couple of smaller delphiniums (larkspur) in a deep purple to go with a larger blue one I already have at home. I also bought a sweet pea shrub that looked like it stays a smaller size and has beautiful blooms. They had some small mounding plants on sale 3/$10. They also had a beautiful selection of hydrangeas in a variety of blues and pinks and different sizes. The girl that rang up my order out in the garden center was so pleasant and had a great smile. I joked with her about the heater that was built in to her weather "tent", pretty neat! Great shopping trip! Now I just need to get these all planted! read more

For over 20 years we shopped primarily at Lowe's because of better Customer Service. That's no longer the case, particularly at this location. Be prepared to scour the parking lot for your own cart. Having them available for customers is definitely not something management cares about. read more

There are highs and there are lowes, and this is one of the Lowe's. Pretty nice Lowe's with some pretty cool employees and I got exactly what I needed. It kind of reminds me of a Home Depot in a lot of ways. The best thing about this Lowe's is of course the food truck in the parking lot, which offers utterly incredible Chicago food and very authentic as well so we absolutely love it. read more

Lots of people always ask if I need any help. I consider that good service despite the confusing way that the store is organized with the aisle numbers extremely complex and not labeled well. You have a good chance of finding an item if you use the website or app to locate it. That is, if it's in an easy to locate spot. Otherwise, look for an employee because you could wander in the store for hours searching for items. I do notice that there's less variety and product at this store than several others. I was looking for glasses to protect my eyes and plastic to line my floors for painting and I did not see as many options as other places I've been to. Additionally, I noticed several self scan guns had broken pieces. They still work but some have spots with broken plastic. Otherwise, I think this store is good for your average needs and it's a great neighborhood location. read more

I'm so disappointed in this location. I purchased some mulch online during a sale in April 2024. We were in the process of building a large swingset and needed 65 bags but were not ready to bring it home so I did not pick it up. One day I received an email at 11pm that my order has been picked up. The next morning I called the store to let them know that my order was not picked up and they told me that they could see in the comments of the order that my order was accidentally shown to be picked up by the computer and they knew it was not picked up. Fast forward to June 4 and I still do not have a refund for my $140 purchase of mulch that I never picked up. I have made numerous phone calls to the store, been left on hold, spoken to a manager who told me she would have to "review the video to make sure I didn't pick it up." Great! But another four days has gone by and I still don't have an answer or my money. They have told me, "go ahead and file a plant complaint with corporate we don't care." I cannot tell you how many hours of my time I have wasted trying to get a refund for the product that I do not have. Today I'll be calling the corporate office and filing a complaint and I will also dispute it with my credit card. read more

I stopped in this morning to buy a couple of items a filter for my HVAC, and ended up buying a couple of packs of batteries. First I wandered around the store trying to find the filters, I passed several employees with a confused look on my face, but nobody offered to help me. I finally found what I was looking for, and made my way up to purchase the items. Only to find, that there were no cash registers open, only the self checkout. So now I am forced to check myself out and make sure that I pay for the items. $75 later, I have completed my purchase, while two employees stood at the end of the self checkout talking to each other. Obviously they are stationed there to make sure that we pay for things that we have picked up, rather than actually interacting with us and checking us out and thanking us for our purchase. The only thing that was said to me as I walked out, was one of the young ladies without turning her head said " have a good one" to which I politely ignored, just as I had been ignored for the 20 minutes I was in the store. I'm pretty sure their employees are making about 15 bucks an hour, so for that kind of money they really need to bring back work ethics and customer service. And if you think that $15 isn't a lot, my first job, I made $2.35 an hour being a janitor, and I was proud of the good work that I did. And no, I am not a boomer. read more

In my opinion the Richardson Lowe's is the best managed Lowe's in North Texas. Not just one particular department but all of them from nursery to building products. They manage their inventories well and staff associates that can answer customers' questions. The associates are prompt in their answers by product and the application in which will be used. I always look forward to shopping at this Lowe's location for various home projects that I encounter. read more

Apparently at this Lowe's you have to go an get your own cart in the parking lot to spend money inside the building. They have 20 employees holding g down the concrete inside the building but 100% of all of their big lumber carts outside. I called to let the manager know about the experience and she told me there was no problem. Small things = big results. Every other Lowes I deal with do not have this issue.. I was at the store at 3:45 pm so the morning rush was way over. Hopefully they can fix this issue in the future. read more

You have to ask the right person for what you need when you go in there. For me, finding things is an art, that I do not posses. They did not have what I was looking for, this last trip in there, but there was a whole lot of other stuff and I say some fixtures, that I don't need, that I really liked. This review is only for the appliance installation service at Lowe's. I purchased a dishwasher, an 8-ft hose, and the installation & haul-away package on the Lowe's website on March 12. The dishwasher and hose were listed as being in stock when I purchased it. I requested Friday March 18 for the installation. It's now May 4, the past seven weeks have been a ridiculous game of missed appointment times, out-of-stock items, Lowe's calling the wrong phone #, multiple attempts to charge me for missed appointments, and very poor communication in general. Their system seems designed to prevent effective contact between the installers and the actual customer. The store itself is great, no problems there. But DO NOT USE THEIR APPLIANCE INSTALLATION SERVICE. It's horrible. read more

we went to Lowe's to buy a wall oven. part of the deal included having their installer come to our house to make sure the model we ordered would fit into the available space. The installer (a contractor) came to our house and told use that we were 1/8 in short on one side and that meant we were a custom job. The custom job is an extra 469$ over the normal $250 installment charge. We thought this was outrageous. So we went to their competitors Home Depot down the road. Their installler told us that there was no need to extra work and that our model oven would it perfectly. We purchased through Home Depot and all told saved close to 700$ on the purchase. read more

I know why your store only has 3 Stars. Your customer service is the worst!! Lowe's use to be my go to not any more... I paid for 5 bags of mulch and asked if someone load it for since i am 65 years old. Waited in heat 20 minutes no one came to help. i managed to get 3 of them by my self but could not get to the others to get them off the pallets. Went back in the garden center and was told I would have to get back in line to get my money back..... Saw 3 employees walking asked for assistance nope no help to load or to even call someone to help me...they walked away... Went to three Lowe's Stores trying to find a door. Had the part number but the Allen store didn't have it in stock. Went to this store in Richardson after work on a Tuesday night. Worst Lowes ever!!! If you need a cart to put your items on, good luck! They are always scattered about somewhere. Its a joke. They go months without replenishing stock so if you find they are out of a certain color of spray paint, for example, don't go back a week or two or three later expecting to find some just go to Home Depot. There you find an ample supply of paint and a bunch of carts lined up by the doors. As for the Kobalt "hassle free lifetime warranty", that's a bunch of BS too. read more

I purchased a dishwasher from Lowe's on October 15 and also paid for professional installation. When the installation team came with the dishwasher they told me they didn't have the correct parts, and that I also needed to install a new shut off valve which my plumber did two days later. I ordered the correct parts and picked them up myself from the Lowe's store, but to this day, the dishwasher still sits uninstalled in my dining room, which means it's been there all through Thanksgiving and all through Christmas. The Lowe's specialty support team has called me at least 25 times and each time they tell me I need to pick up the new parts and install the shut off valve, and each time I tell them I have already done this - back in October. I finally reported them to the BBB. Absolute worst installation/customer service I have ever seen in my life! read more

I've been here a couple times after moving into the neighborhood. You know how it is, you always gotta get something from a big box home store for your new home. I like that it's well lit, but you can tell the store is old. It's large and a maze. I think I like their quality of products better than Home Depot's, and I'm also pretty sure the selection is better on a lot of different products. Overall, service is different. No one greeted me at the front, and no one asked me if i needed help, which I clearly did. However, when I did ask someone for their assistance a nice friendly girl in Hardware was excellent, professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. Prices seemed good. I think I might be going here first compared to HD, but I haven't tried Harbor Freight yet. read more

I admire Lowe's for their hiring diversity, however, the people working for them are unqualified to be called employees of a hardware store; the majority of the men working in the hardware department didn't even know what an "L" bracket was. Seriously?!! Then when I get to the register I used cash for the purchase. The bill came to $4.09, so I gave five dollar bills. I was asked if I had the nine cents. I responded, " if I had, you would have been given it along with the bills". The clerk was befuddled as to how to give me $.91 cents back. I told him to give me three quarters, one dime, one nickel, and one penny. Ordered laundry stands after speaking with representative who stated they were going to work perfectly with my machines. When delivered, guy took one look at machines and said no, they would not work, my machines were not compatible. Called for refund. After 9 calls and 3 weeks still do not have correct refund. Spoke with 3 different "managers" before I even received the first partial refund. Now being told they changed systems and the new one "isn't working as well as they hoped". Never received calls to confirm or set up delivery, they just showed up on a day I happened to be home and started ringing the bell and pounding on the door. I would say system isn't working at all. Will never again buy online from them and will probably go back to Home Depot where they understand customer service. read more

Lowe's was really crowded in their gardening section. I was at a loss as to where to find a much needed cart. I asked two employees out front where I could get a cart. One replied that they were currently in short supply and it would be best to scout out a free one around the store or stock a customer checking out to take theirs. Joshua, however, said he would go retrieve one for me and deliver it to me while I started shopping. Before I knew it, I had a cart and my shopping experience was overall more enjoyable. This is MY Lowe's I've shop this place FOREVER! So much so,the guys in the lumber, paint, and tools called me Betty the Builder. So this is Not about the entire store or all of its employees. This is about Jimmy in the Garden area! He was he grumpiest meanest associate I've ever come in contact with in this store. He was rude! I hear him tell a young man she (pointing at me) "she's been lingering too long." She needs help. He didn't say a dog gone thing when I was snuggling to put a 65 pound bag of potting soil on my buggy! Nor did he help me get an unopen bag! And yes! How can you miss a big tangerine and lime green dressed woman less than 2 to3 feet away from you, 4'11 , struggling to get a giant bag, hugging and puffin to get a bag of potting soil on her buggy! I wrote this last year I was beyond upset with Lowe's management because I reported Jimmy. And he was there all summer! I'm started going to the Lowe's in Plano. I'm shopping again at My Lowe's in Richardson. I hope Jimmy isn't there again this summer. Because I love my Lowe's. But I will not pay for someone to be rude! read more

I would not recommend any straight men to go into this store unless you want to be hit on by an openly gay store employee....this is what happened to me. I went to this Lowes and was looking for a tape measure when an older openly gay store employee named Danny asked me if I needed any help. He was maybe ten feet away from me when he asked me this and I told him I didn't need any help. He stood there for a few seconds staring at me and then approached me in a very slow mannner, got right up next to me and said in a low, trying to sound seductive voice, "you're in the tape measure department, they come in different inches your know". He then walked behind be and rubbed my back with his hand as he did this. Of course I knew he was referring to a certain part of the male anatomy. I am a very straight male and of course was offended by a gay store employee making sexual advances towards me and felt like belting him but knew I would be arrested for this. I turned around and told him off and he just started laughing as if he had gotten his little gay pleasure for the day. I went and found an assistant manager named Stephanie and told her what had happened. I didn't know the man's name at this point and I led Stephanie to where the man was standing and pointed him out at which time he said to me in a very taunting manner, "you just don't have a sense of humor". Stephanie did not say anything and I left the store and later called the general manager and told her what had happened. She did not sound like she really cared about hearing my complaint so I finally found the number to the corporate office and called them. I spoke to someone in customer service and they said they would make a report and someone would get back with me within a day. About a week later someone finally called an left a message; I returned their call and left a message and then never heard from anyone. I kept calling back and finally was able to speak with a manger. He looked into my previous complaint and said my complaint should have been forwarded to their HR department but it never was. He forwarded my complaint to the HR department and someone from HR called me and told me they were investigating the matter. It took many phone calls and persitance to finally reach the HR department and think the other employees I had spoken to were trying to keep me from reaching the HR department so as not to have a bad report written on this particular Lowe's. I thought they would have terminated Danny but later I found out they did not and as far as I know, he is still working there.....probably making still making sexual advances on male customers as Lowe's management apparently does not mind him doing this. read more

Because I have never wanted to curse more than when I go into this Lowe's store. Just keep driving north until you get to Plano. We took in an ad from Home Depot for the same products they had and since Home Depot was cheaper, they beat their deal by 10%. SUPER NICE! Their staff was friendly and helpful. Doing more home improvement projects around the house and all I have to say is the flooring manager Renata is the best. She helped me pick out the perfect tile needed for my home. She gave me tips on mud and grout. She ordered all of the tile and supplies needed. She even made sure they were ready for my contractor to pick them up on a selected day. I ordered around 1400 SF of tile and some of the boxes of tile had issues. My contractor and I went back to see Renata and 2 hours later she had a solution and had new tile to replace the defective tile. When you have large projects you may have some supply issues but what makes the difference is how the issues are taken care of at the store. In my book Lowes did everything to make the problem right and that is why when I redo the bathrooms I will be going back to Lowes. If anyone needs flooring Renata is the first person you should talk to. She is full of knowledge and will work hard to make your project a success. read more

The washing machine at home gave up the ghost so it was time for a new one. Went to several places to look and price check and ended up here at Lowe's. Our salesman Ken was just great. We were looking for a top loader with no electronics to break down. Just a great solid washer. He had just what we needed and on sale too! Set delivery for the next day and they called promptly at 8:00 am like they said they would and had it delivered by 9:30. They made this super easy for us. read more

In the midst of the winter storm, we were unable to locate a connector line for our propane tank. Unfortunately, all the home improvement stores were out -- we went to this Lowe's and the store manager went above and beyond. He was able to locate the part after we left the building and actually ran it out to us in the parking lot. Thankful for good people and a sense of community (even from a big chain!). For the longest time, I was in a relationship with the other home improvement store. Why? I'm not exactly sure. Probably because it was closer than Lowe's, then a couple years ago, they bull dozed Richardson Square Mall and built a Lowe's and some other miscellany in its place and slowly, probably because I'm lazy, for one, and because American Express Rewards issues Lowe's gift cards, secondly, I've started going to this Lowe's more. Yesterday, I was out to get a new GFCI (ground fault circuit interrupter) outlet for the front porch. I guess it lasted 5 years and I'm not sure it was meant to be installed outdoors. If you've read some of my other reviews, I digress a lot. Anyhow, I started looking at the outlets and Bob came up and chatted me up. Bob works for Lowe's. He also told me that he'd only been working there for 5 days. Alright! Lay it on me, Bob. I am a blank sheet waiting for your wisdom. Well, needless to say (but I'm going to say it anyway) Bob wasn't particularly helpful this time, though he said if I came back and ran into him and he had answers to any of my questions, he would chase me down and tell me he has answers. For the most part, I haven't had any problems with Lowe's. It's what you expect from a big box store. It's always clean in there, things are neatly organized as they should. Sometimes it's hard to find someone who knows anything. Be careful of the guys that don't work there that give you advice. One guy was buying an Insinkerator Badger 5 garbage disposal and the guy behind him said, "You'll need to buy a cord for that. It's what I learned from D-I-Y... Then $125 later, I had to get a guy to come fix it for me." Yes, those are the ones I'm telling you to beware of. If you're looking for a garbage disposal, yes, you will need a cord, unless your old one died, then you can take the cord off that one. You'll most likely need some plumbers putty and if you want an easier time, a hacksaw, to trim the drain. Just be careful who you take advice from. Some guys know what they're talking about, some don't. I'm not just talking about the employees. =o) read more

I used to love this location. I came in a few days ago to purchase some vinyl flooring. Their was a bit of confusion on my end over the difference between regular price and a lower "contractor's price". My cashier wasn't able to explain it to me, so he called over the head cashier. She was so rude, acted annoyed that I took 30 seconds of her time to ask a question, angrily answered me in a very condascending tone, as if I was stupid for not knowing already. (I'm a weekend warrior like most, idk wtf a contractor's price is!) I didn't see this part, but my friend said the head cashier walked away shaking her head at me. I want help improving my home, not attitude and condascending customer service. Go to the Home Depot down the street instead, they're very nice there and won't treat you like an idiot for not knowing wtf a contractor's price is. read more
