I purchased a staple gun from this Lowes recently, and it wont operate at all. I took it back up to the Lowes on Austin Hwy, and they told me that they will not 'exchange' the defective stapler. Played games with me for like 15 minutes about how the card number didnt apply to the purchase. Very poor customer service AND Lowes sells defective products! Unfortunately, the big stores such as Lowe's have increasingly poor quality and customer service. I have shopped at Lowe's since they came to San Antonio. We decided to use Lowe's for fencing. The company's installers were mediocre at best. Well, when it came to having Lowe's honor the one-year warranty, they kept postponing the fence assessment. Even though I submitted my warranty claim within the one year, I was told I waited too long and that the fence was not sealed, which it was. The wood was split at the screws. Some boards were chipped. Yes, maybe I should have reported it sooner, but I was still under warranty. Disappointed. Lowes has done our kitchen and bathroom remodels (thousands of dollars later). We will not purchase large ticket items from Lowe's going forward. Home Depot does a better job at fence installs, and they honor their warranty. read more

My experience in purchasing a washer/dryer combo set is a good reason for a person to do their own homework online before going to the store to purchase an appliance. The clerk on duty, Joanie, in this particular appliance area didn't have any indepth knowledge of the particulars. If you want installation then, by default, a number of items will be included for the installation. One of them is the power cord for the dryer. A power cord for the dryer is never included with a purchase because there are 3 different types of outlets possible. By default, my purchase with installation included a 4 prong. My apartment is 45 years old and requires a 3 prong. The clerk was telling me that if I didn't go with the 4 prong I wouldn't get the installation. I told her that I needed a 3 prong. She looked over at what they sold and we found the one that I needed. She then told me she "declined" the 4 prong and told me she added the 3 prong. Low and behold, when I got home, I saw that the 4 prong was still on the list for the installation. I went to another Lowes and purchased the correct 3 prong wire and I will be taking the 4 prong wire back for a refund when I get it delivered with the washer/dryer. read more

I like Lowe's and usually go in and get my stuff. I will say the customer service is subpar at all the locations. They have definitely just capitalize on their convenience and product. Well the reason for the 2 star is because I put an online order in and decided to do curbside for quick convenience. Once ordered within 30 minutes it said order was ready for pickup, and now I been sitting here for 20 minutes. I had called a second time and got the runaround and told he is on his way. Very rude!! I did not order much stuff and could had picked it up physically myself. So, I do not recommend curbside at Lowe's. Well still sitting here 40+ minutes later and one person came out to ask if I received my order. I dropped it to one star. I called the store and asked for a manager and was on hold for 40+ minutes and then disconnected. Called back and no answer. So apparently no one in this store works. Lowes I went to Lowes to get a replacement Water Heater which was still under the manufacturer warranty. I told them the code that was given to me by the manufacturer, but they said that they would not give me a replacement without the original receipt and would not accept a copy. The woman at Customer Service, Kirssyla, was very mean, rude and uncooperative. Because I had the plumber with me and needed him to get started with the install, I paid for the new Water Heater and left to get my receipt. When I returned with the original receipt, instead of getting reimbursed, I was charged again which I did not find out until later. Once the Water Heater manufacturer assured me that they had sent Lowes the refund of the Water Heater, I went to Lowes to get the charge for the Water Heater refunded to my credit card. Lowes refused to give me the refund. So, not only did they get the Water Heater cost reimbursed from the manufacturer, but they also have my payment for the Water Heater! The woman at Customer Service, Kirssyla, continued to hassle me. The manager, Penny, got involved, and she sided with Kirssyla. Penny also refused to have my credit card refunded and said that is just the way it is. read more

This was the worse delivery ever. My order was to be delivered on Thursday (washer and dryer) that day came around and nothing. Friday I went to lowes and someone was supposed to call me but nothing then no one called me until Saturday. I heard so many excuses except we apologize. Then I said either a discount or an upgrade I was told I have to accept the items first. This has been a horrible experience and Lowes do not know how to communicate at all. This Lowes location is located right off Austin Hwy. I have been coming here for years, I'm surprised I haven't written a review yet. 9 times out of 10, I'm at this Lowe's location versus another Lowe's or the competition of Lowe's. They will usually have the item I am looking for, but I always check the website for stock prior to, unless I just go to wander and waste time. Even though the website is very helpful in telling you if the item is in stock and exactly where it is located in-store, the employees are helpful. I still am amazed how each employee will be able to tell you exactly what aisle anything is in. read more

Hidden return policies and computer glitches but the customer is always wrong. Been shopping at the Austin Hwy Lowes in San Antonio since I moved here in 2010. I am outta here. Taking my business somewhere else. I do a LOT of home improvements so they have got a lot of my business. Last month I ordered several hundred dollars worth of lawn seed etc for pick up in store. Lowes texted me and told me it was ready to pick up. When I got there they informed me that they actually did not have the stuff in stock and I would need to drive 45 minutes away to get it. I asked for a refund. Since I paid with a card it took 5 days to get that refund. Since I was already there and already had the refund processing I decided to go and see what lawn stuff they had and it turned out that they had everything and were just too lazy to look for it. A few weeks ago I bought an electric mower there. When I went to use it the second time the battery started leaking so I grabbed my receipt and went to return it. According to the associate Lowes started a new policy a couple of weeks ago whereby they do not accept lawn equipment returns, even if you have a receipt unless you purchase their warranty plan. I informed them that my purchase was not even 30 days ago and the associate said it did not matter. I asked where I would have known about this new policy and the manager said it was on my receipt. There actually is no return policy on the receipt other than to go to the lowes.com link to learn more. The manager informed me that she was not going to refund or exchange the mower and I would have to go through the manufacturer. I pointed out again the new policy is newer than the purchase so they should do the right thing an honor the previous purchase agreement. The manager did not care and was not interested in doing anything to help. SMH Funny, Starbucks has their return policy printed on their receipts but Lowes can't figure out how to do that. SMH LOL Lowes has joined the long line of retail stores that hides behind half hidden policies and profit over customer relationship decisions. I will take my business somewhere else. Rats and mice! While shopping at this location I saw at least 4-5 very large rats/mice scurrying over on the wall by the lawn and garden section. This was very alarming. I presume this is why all the bird feed was in tubs however it doesn't seem like they have done much else to solve the issue. Especially in this pandemic when mice transmit disease. I was able to get a photo of one of the smaller ones but there were other rodents twice the size of this one. read more

My experience here was unbelievable. I sat at self checkout for 45 minutes needing help and the useless employee there made no effort to help me. I was getting a price honored by another employee and that employee axel did not carry through with honoring the price. If employees are gonna be this useless why are they even working. Military Service members residing in a federal installation should take note. This location (and likely many others) hire third party contractors for the "free delivery" service. The contractors hired are not vetted, but Lowe's doesn't care. The contractors hired to deliver my appliances today had an expired registration on the truck they were using and therefore could not enter the gate. Called Lowe's for them to rectify this situation and they stated there is NOTHING they can do. They informed me I would have to file a claim with the delivery service. I would have to file the claim, but I'm not the one that hired them! The third party delivery company also could not give me a new acceptable date or time they could delivery. read more

Lowe's knows nothing about customer service. They sent undocumented workers into my home to deliver a dryer and install it. They spoke no English. The first thing they did was break a corner off my wall because they were too dumb to remove the old machine first. They then connected the dryer. They left without plugging the dryer in. They also left the gas line leaking and the water line for the steam function leaking. I had to redo the entire installation. When I called and complained they took months to get back with me. They offered me $119.00 to repair the wall. The wall is plaster. The least expensive bid I got was for $790.00. I even showed them the estimate. Told me the $119.00 is all they will pay and take it or leave it. I left it. I'm now writing these wonderful reviews about them. Don't be foolish. I won't buy a stew from them again. read more

We came here looking for paint. They have a fair selection of paints, with differing qualities and characteristics. The prices were fair- comparable to Home Depot. The service here is much better than what you find at HD also- we got asked several times if we needed any assistance, and were helped by an attentive clerk. Parking is easy here, and the parking lot is useful for cutting through from Austin Hwy to Harry Wurzbach, and avoiding that awful series of stoplights. Worst service ever! I came from across town where the lowes by my house(Bandera/1604) that always has great customer servic. I came to get Christmas lights that were only available at this store. There were several associates standing around in the front but, i had to wait 10 minutes for someone to come and get a faucet from the top inventory only for the associate to act like it was a bother and decides to help someone else first that just walks up! For the life of me, I cannot figure out how this place stays open. Between the herd of homeless guys in the back of the parking lot, and the lack of staff to help inside, this place seems like it may need management replaced. As it stands, it's one of the only hardware stores anywhere near the '09 area, so that's probably the only reason it stays open- necessity and convenience, rather than good products and service. Came here several times over the past few years, usually to get supplies for various science projects and lessons- their staff was thoroughly unhelpful when I came in for ring magnets, which is a simple enough item to find. Either the employees I encountered had literally started that day, or they don't even know what is in their own store. Had similar issues when trying to plant a campus garden and no one was available in that section to assist with loading or selecting plants. I briefly considered just walking my cart to my car and not paying, that's how sparsely attended the gardening section is. I had an issue with my property and had the doors rekeyed a few times- after trying to duplicate my keys here twice, I started going elsewhere. It used to be that when you manually cut keys, they were initially rough and smoothed out with use. But ever since they switched to the "techy" key kiosk (which nearly no one in store knows how to operate), I can't get one that works at all. In addition to often not recognizing the key ("sorry miss" is the only help I got), the key simply did not match what was put in and clearly was not going to work in my lock. Eventually they switched back to manual, and the one lone employee who knew how to use it commented that it needed to be run through twice but "no one ever does it"-- wow, okay. I decided to call and I was redirected more than 6 times!!! Why does this store stay open until 9 pm when no one wants to bother answering the phone or addressing their potential customers?? We visited this Lowe's tonight 15 minutes before closing - it was our fourth stop and we were pretty frustrated after looking for a replacement washer and dryer at four other stores. Absolutely the worse Lowe's I have ever been to! Customer service is terrible; associates either don't know where something is or are plain not available! The help calls usually go unanswered for about and extended period of time which means that the intercom repeats the message over and over again; annoying. Also there is a female manager that comes over the intercom and is very rude; she comes on, unprofessional, demanding all associates do things; if that's how they are going to talk the the employees then the customers don't need to hear that, get walkie talkies! There are never any shopping carts and usually only 1 register open at any given time. Super friendly cashier (lady with purple hair). I made a comment about her pretty James Avery ring and the line manager barks at the cashier: "Are you done with these customers?!!" What the heck? I was the one that made friendly conversation and the cashier was being nice. The line manager was motioning us to come this way. Ummm- that way was closed. I knew we had to go to the right.... the only way to exit. The line manager hurried us out. The entrance had super kind people dressed in Christmas attire and there was an area to take pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Total opposite of our exit experience. I ordered a stove and a dishwasher to be delivered to san antonio on Monday. Instead of my local store (1 mile away), they are supposed to deliver from near Austin (Kyle,TX)! It was supposed to come Monday but it never did. They didn't even leave them at the local Lowes. Lots of excuses even though they were 30 mi. west of me and had to travel back 60 mi. east of me to get back. They did not deliver and went home. They said I could next get it Thur. I told them I was available ALL day mon, tue, wed but had made an important appointment for 10-11:30 on Thur and would not be available at that time. When Thur came, they specifically wanted to deliver at that time. In fact, mysteriously, i was 5th in line earlier in the morning but all of a sudden, at 10am when i left, I was first and they called to say they were delivering. I spoke with the driver and they said it was ok, that they would work it later. At at 10:22 via door-street cam, I saw them drive by twice when my daughters were in the driveway and a few minutes after one left in the car, they drove by twice more and stopped in the street in front of my house for about 3 seconds and were not seen again. I got a call near 4 claiming that they knocked on the door and no one was home so they couldn't deliver and that I would have to wait until Sat to get them delivered. He also said the supervisor would call me. I called back and hour later after checking the video. They did not call back like they said they would. Also, no one ever knocked on my door. Someone was always home, even if they did come. They also did not call me again after the first call at 10:09am. I got Ivy and she said that they had tried calling and delivering later but that is not true as I have call logs and the video. This is beyond ridiculous and I hate being lied to as that is the lowest of the low. I cannot do anything except believe that they never had the items on their truck or they are just trying to scam me. When I talked to Ivy and her supervisor on Monday, I heavily recommended good communications. I guess they don't really understand what that means since I received a lot of assurances but no results and barely any communication unless I was the one calling them.
